The hotel physically is pretty cool and front desk, valet staff super nice. If you are just looking for a bed to sleep in this hotel will do the job. If you are wanting quality service and food you will be extremely disappointed. DO NOT eat at the hotel’s restaurant Marsh House. Worst service and food I have ever experienced. My omelette tasted like rubber. Also if you need anything like a toothbrush just get it yourself it takes over an hour to get anything to your room. Tim Rawding is the General Manager of the restaurant. I’ve never met a manager who showed such a lack of concern for guest experience. It’s not worth your time or money.

This is a nice place. The room is great and the location puts you squarely in an exciting part of the city. The amenities are a bit lacking however.

I loved this hotel. Staff is so lovely and professional. The design and atmosphere felt like home. The room was spacious and very clean. Large selection of drinks and snacks. They took care of every details, such as cruelty free amenities. The design of the room was modern and elegant. There is no coffee machine in the room but you can ask for one to be brought up. However there is a nice coffee shop downstairs. I can't wait to be back in Nashville and back to the Thompson.

This was a great place to stay. My wife and I had missed our flight and we booked a room here very short notice. Not only where they able to get us a room but we where able to check in 5 hours early. The room was very nice and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the staff was kind and quick.

It was a Wednesday night and not too busy. I just loved the service, the staff, the view, drinks, and food. The outside was my happy place. The acoustics and my hearing did not get along at the bar, but, the servers were very gracious to this 59 year old. Highly recommend.

I stayed at this hotel for a business conference. The meeting facilities are great and large enough for up to 50 people. The restaurant on the roof can be reserved for the conference and they will cater food. The food is exquisite and was ready on time. Snacks and breakfast were provided and it was very convenient and enjoyable. I loved the rooms, they were quite neat and comfortable. The Wi-Fi is very fast and they offer Ethernet for extra speed and security. All in all, the hotel made getting business done a breeze. I didn't partake in the in room mini bar but it's there if you're interested and your company allows it.

I must say, for paying the rate for a suit for my wedding night and being told about all the services they completely failed. It took them over 2 hours after ordering a drink to bring them up and they were warm not to mention getting them to bring our belonging from the valet to the room was a serious pain and took me calling the front desk 3 times over 2 hours to get the rest of our belongings! We ended checking out 2 hours early just to get out of that place. The floor manger did come and speak to my wife and I in the morning before checking out. He was very professional and helpful and tried everything he can to make fix and were very thankful for that.

Probably the best hotel in Nashville. The room was gorgeous, spacious and in a great location right in the Gulch. I do not recommend getting room service but highly recommend the restaurant and coffee shop in the lobby. The rooftop bar is one of the biggest I've ever been on. The best thing on the bar menu is the crab roll. Drinks are pricey but it makes sense because of the hip environment and city views. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Nash.

Day one. Restaurant: Snapper was amaaaaazing. I think my waitress was Lauren? Waitress was friendly and extremely helpful. Day two, rooftop. We came back because of the amazing service we received the day before. The music was extremely dated (early 2000’s music) but that’s to be expected from a small town so we made the best of it. Bartender rudely kicked us out when we stayed til closing even though I was only attempting to finish the last of he many drinks I purchased with a generous tip. He told us he didn’t care and I should leave despite it being over a dozen people still there. I felt singled out. Only negative but a huge negative.

Room was great, clean and we had a corner view. Loved the service until I discovered a blouse was missing from the closet. Other than checking with security and the cleaning services, the manager didnt seem to know if anything else to do. Oh, except offer an upgrade on my next stay. No thank you.

We stayed here two weekends ago and had an exceptional experience thanks to Logan and all of the other staff members. We had a motorcycle, trailer and a truck to park and Logan immediately jumped to help find a resolution as there was only valet parking available. We were able to park our truck and trailer at a parking lot next to the hotel and conveniently park the motorcycle in the under ground parking. Our room and bathroom was absolutely stunning and above and beyond our expectations!

Breakfast was delicious, service was poor. I had breakfast there with my wife and we both loved the food. Very tasty. The waiter was brutal. No introduction, no personality, nothing. Must have been having a bad day, which happens. Still a nice place that I would visit again.

Hotel was very clean and nice location. The support staff was very friendly and helpful when I was able to locate one. Front desk however was not helpful at all! I requested ice from the front desk, was told it would be sent to room and hour and a half later, no ice! I located an employee in the hall that got some for me and apologized that they had not gotten the message. I was shocked by the hair dryer that sparks were flying from, again called front desk and asked if I could get another one, no apology, just a feeling that I was bothering her and after more then an hour I got the replacement I was headed out the door for reservations, wet hair! The guy hesitated for a tip, not sure a hair dryer that shocked the fire out of me being replaced signifies tip!

Ended up staying at the Thompson through a set of strange circumstances but really enjoyed the hotel's location, decor, and spaciousness of the rooms. Would have loved to try the hotel restaurant but there were already too many things on my Nashville bucket list. The rooftop bar, LA Jackson, was a nice perk and great for an afternoon drink in the sun, or dance party at night. If you're looking for a glitzy and modern yet cozy stay, the Thompson is for you!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Modern, clean interior design that seems perfectly tailored to the young urban professional crowd. The rooftop bar is great, though pricier than the surrounding area (the city view is worth it). The lobby staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful for bar recommendations. The Gulch is a great place to stay in Nashville that is not the touristy Broadway area, though it is an easy walk to the famous stretch. Bars, food, shopping, coffee all a stones throw away and very safe. We'll be staying here again and will highly recommend any of our friends to stay here. Exceptional!

Amenities were awesome. Really cool bathroom and shower. Staff was very nice and friendly. We stayed here the night of our wedding and were given a complimentary room upgrade to a corner room, which was obviously greatly appreciated. We ordered room service through the Marsh House (restaurant attached to our lobby) and it was phenomenal. The view from our corner room was great as well. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is out bed. The bed was so uncomfortable that we hardly slept at all. My wife and I woke up at least 5-6 times each because we were so uncomfortable. Overall, good experience with staff and food. Did not get a chance to check out rooftop bar, but heard great things.

Had a great experience until the day after we left and saw a charge on my credit card for $250 from this hotel. When I called to find out why they informed me there was evidence of us smoking in the room. When I asked to speak to the manager to deny this claim the girl placed me on hold for nearly 30 minutes just to come back on the line to explain to me the manager would have to call me back. After 2 hours passed no one had still called me back so I call and finally spoke to the manager who happens to be the same manager that checked us out and he explained a bag of marijuana was found in my room and the smell was so bad they couldn't even book the room for that night. I was floored because we don't smoke at all much smoke weed and of course I asked if their were cameras and of course there isn't and its obvious their staff knew we checked out and smoked weed in there and now I'm stuck with the bill for something we didn't even do & I'm still waiting on this so called evidence. Unbelievable.

Location and hospitality were exceptional. Room accommodations were elegant, but inspire mixed reviews: furnishings were new and well kept, modern and clean design, but somewhat lacking in terms of amenities such as a usable mini fridge, microwave, or available ice machine that you might expect. You have to call whenever you need ice, which is very luxurious, but also somewhat inconvenient. Very small mini fridge is pre-filled with high-priced liquor, so no room for leftovers if you go out. Convenient coffee shop in the lobby and the roof-top lounge is beautifully lit at night with a nice view. Everyone was very helpful, and the stay was enjoyable.

We were able to get our room at a discounted price which was wonderful. We were then upgraded to a suite. Everyone there was so polite and willing to do anything to make your stay better.

Food was great! Service was great! Only negative was we had to stand outside for 30 minutes, in the cold, while waiting for a seat. Will say, they did everything in their power to get everyone inside as quickly as possible. My wife and I will definitely be visiting again when we're in the downtown area.

This place is amazing. SO dog friendly — my pup felt like a celebrity. He isn't easily excitable but when he sees a dog person he gets the wiggles and to see him wiggle for complete strangers made me feel right at home. Kevin was great and SO helpful with telling us where to take Max for the best walks. The rooftop bar is phenomenal. I'd come back just got the bar! This place has everything you need and so much more.

Obviously the hotel is in a super trendy spot, which was nasty train yard 5 years ago, so pretentious attitudes and all the annoying things that are associated with it are a given. The staff was nice and courteous but the hotel is way over priced, rooms are high and the super trendy coffee shop charged $15 for two cups of tea. It is the tackiest, worst decorated place I've been in years. The room didn't have one thing about it I liked. The entire hotel is like a hipster sneezed out a bunch of ideas for them. Ready, set, terrible.

Stayed at this hotel when it first opened. The restaurant was awful but the staff was friendly. It is now so noisy and don't expect room service to answer the phone past 10 on weekend evenings… they are too busy catering to the nightlife crowd that comes for the bar upstairs. On my last visit they put me in a room under the hotels air conditioner, Room 1014, I believe. The air noise and pressure was unbearable and I couldn't sleep even with earplugs. Anyone that wants a great hotel in Nash… there are others that are more peaceful and give more for your money.

I have to say the decor in this hotel was awesome. The beds were super comfortable, the shower was big and wonderful, and they had great toiletries. That being said our room had a dampness to it from the moment we arrived. They said they had sent someone to check our AC and fix it but the problem persisted. They said they couldn’t do anything about it. Was kind of surprised for the reputation of Thompson Hotels. It made it pretty hard to relax and hang out in our room. The food at Marsh House was okay. We had breakfast and I don’t think it was worth the money. Same goes for room service. Rooftop bar is kind of fun until it starts getting really crowded. Drinks are also expensive (but that is to be expected). Overall I LOVE the look and atmosphere of this hotel but it kind of fell short of my expectations when it comes to the details.

The Thompson is the dream Nashville hotel. The decor and floor to ceiling windows are beautiful and have a cool rustic vibe. The staff go above and beyond and are incredibly helpful even with crazy requests. The restaurant and roof bar are also both fantastic and worth visiting. I also love the location of this hotel. Overall truly fabulous experience.

Simply put, you're treated like a queen when you're a guest at the Thompson. Every employee I interacted with were will to go above and beyond to make me happy. The rooms are beautiful and stylish. I wish I could have taken it all home with me!

The rooms are a trendy mid — century modern with great attention to details. The staff were all superb and went out of their way to make our stay excellent. The hotel is in walking distance to excellent restaurants and their LA Jackson roof top bar was a great stop! We loved our little staycation!

I reserved 2 rooms, one for my sister and her husband and one for my wife and I. My sister arrived first and they wouldn't let her get to her room saying I had to be there to release the room to her. Reality was they hadn't finished cleaning the rooms from the day before because when I arrived neither of us could get into our rooms as they had none ready — this was close to 5 pm. They told us to go to the bar and they would buy our drinks as we waited. We each had two drinks waiting, they paid for part of one of them and the bill for the balance came to me — over $130. When the rooms were finally ready they gave us room keys with no paper work, when we checked out I had to force getting a check out folio as I was concerned with what they were charging us. I was told by the desk person they usually didn't do folios. When the charge posted to my credit card it posted for $110 more than the folio as they were charging me for storing my car in the basement for 3 days — undisclosed. This is a very expensive hotel that seems used to guests who aren't concerned with what is being charged. I would recommend looking elsewhere for lodging.

Great roof top bar. One of the best views of downtown. The desserts were tasty and they had a decent beer selection.

Highly recommend to anyone coming to stay in Nashville. Marsh house is a great restaurants and the rooftop bar is a very fun hang. The deco inside the hotel reminds me of a chic Palm Springs hotel. The rooms are great and they have hardwood floors! Also robes.

Thompson Nashville was a great experience! The venue was beautiful and the decor was warm modern. My family celebrated a wedding here and enjoyed the atmosphere, decor, the food and drinks. Also the staff were professional and kind. Thank you Thompson Nashville for a fun night of celebration!

Well we have only been here one day but so far my wife and I love it. Top notch service, good food and drinks. We like the Gulch area because it's the perfect distance from Broadway and near other more local places. This may just be our new hotel when we visit Nashville.

I visited Thompson Nashville to have some drinks with friends at their rooftop bar. The line to get in was long events pretty early in the night. However once we entered, the atmosphere was very amicable and the drinks were reasonably priced. I would recommend Thompson Nashville for anyone looking for a trendy spot to grab drinks.

This is possibly the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff is super friendly and the view from my room is amazing. I feel like I can see the whole city from here. There's everything you could possibly need nearby including restaurants, clothing stores, and bars. Couldn't ask for more.

Beautiful hotel, probably busy because it's the new hot place to be. Reminds you of Mad Men. Restaurant not great but they have a nice outdoor deck. Definitely visit the rooftop — worth it to stay since your room key is like a VIP access card!

My Wife and I stayed at The Thompson for a few nights back in November. I never write Reviews but because our experience was so positive I feel I have to.! The Staff was Amazing from the second we got there to the last moment we left, the Rooftop Bar Is the very best I have ever seen. Our Room and Service was Exceptional … We Will for sure be back … You will not regret staying at this 5+ Star Hotel.

My husband and I stayed two nights while we were in town for a concert. From the moment we pulled up until the moment we left, everyone was kind and courteous. The porter, valets, and check in people were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

My family had a chance to stay at Thompson Nashville for a couple of nights and they are very impressed with their experience. I visited them at the hotel and noticed the employee are quite friendly and helpful. The location is easily accessible from the interstate highway and it is within walking distance to popular restaurants. There's also a restaurant in the hotel, along with a couple of exclusive retail stores. The hotel staff provides an elegant atmosphere for guests and visitors. I'd highly recommend the Thompson Nashville hotel!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! We weren't there for the late night scene, the bar scene, or really the scene at all! ;) We came for the gorgeous rooms, the great location, the amenities (having multiple restaurants/bars, amazing room service, and a fantastic coffee shop onsite is more than convenient, it's heavenly), and the service. Everything was far above our expectations. Our room was perfect — and in the perfect spot (the 8th floor, high enough to avoid street noise, but not so high as to hear the rooftop bar). When the Marsh House found out I had a feeding tube and couldn't really eat more than liquids, they came up with an exquisite meal for me that was the best thing I've eaten in a year! I had tears in my eyes! The in-room snacks and drink selection were diverse and unique and room service brings ice cream by the pint-what's not to love? Kilibrew coffee is so good, I'd have driven miles to have my breve latte there each morning and only having to take the elevator to the lobby was just an added benefit.
As for the staff, the concierge noticed that we drank a lot of sparkling mineral water and sent up a complimentary bottle and a bag of their house-made granola. We were surprised and more charmed than if they'd sent us a bottle of champagne (which would've gone to waste this trip).

Loved the hotel, location was excellent. Surrounded by wonderful restaurants, including in the hotel. Staff epitomizes Southern hospitality, from check-in to check-out and everything in-between. Rooms are generous size, comfortable beds and chair to relax in. Bathroom was well-stocked, large and shower one of the best experienced in a hotel. Would highly recommend Thompson Nashville. New hotel in the heart of the Gulch, featuring sleek, modern style. Comfortable lounge off the lobby downstairs with tasty house cocktails and what seems like a good selection of liquors. I am sure they can whip up pretty much whatever you want. Drink prices are a bit steep — spent just over $30 for 2 drinks with tip — but that's becoming pretty normal in Nashville. After checking out the food menu in the downstairs lounge, we were told the food selection is better on the rooftop restaurant. The rooftop features a patio with very beautiful views of the downtown skyline and it's definitely worth a visit, but it was loud and didn't seem like a great environment to eat a dinner for two. For groups? Yes! It feels like they're going for a more upscale version of a party and socializing spot for the 20's and 30's somethings that mostly inhabit the Gulch. It succeeds at that. Visited around 9:00 pm on a busy Saturday, so perhaps other nights of the week have a more relaxed atmosphere. Ended up not getting food so can't comment on it. Definitely recommend the rooftop if you are out with friends or looking for a great view of the city.
