My father and I have stayed at this hotel twice now, the first experience was good but the second hasn't been great, but not bad either. They have updated some of the rooms and this past spring we were lucky to get one and enjoyed it. This room still has carpet and is older that we stayed in for August. It's still a friendly staff but the room stunk when we first entered and has some water damage. Aside from that we enjoy the hotel. They could do for some better parking though.

I stopped here for a short night's sleep on an across country trip. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was quiet, but minimally furnished. Everything was clean and the bed comfortable. AC worked well and was not noisy. This was a good choice for a relatively inexpensive night's sleep.

Stayed one night in room 29. It was updated/modern feeling with a wood floor that felt perfectly clean under my bare feet. The bed was pretty firm, just the way I like it. Decent water pressure, bathroom fan, no funny smells. Couldn’t ask for more for 54 bucks!

Can I put ZERO?! Awful awful place. 3 cigarette burns in comforter. Floor hasn't been swept. Hair, rust, & filth in bathtub. Towels, washcloths all stained. Bed sheets blood stained. Dead bugs on bed. Nothing at all good to say about this place. We stayed long enough to get a refund.

This place is modern with USB plugs in the outlets. It surprised me. Very nice place to stay. I've always had great luck at motel 6 and you don't have to spend a fortune for a good night's rest.

We drove all the way from Florida 12 hours. Arrived in Kingsport around 7 a. M. We were turned away by 3 other hotles saying check in is after 12p. M. I called the front desk of motel 6 explained my situation the staff was so nice said no problem we can give you a room. They actually were apologizing to us because they were out of king size beds we were just happy to have a bed to finally sleep God Bless them.

Room was clean. Everything was great. Other than some of the people that were there. It was quite noisy at night too. Not bad for the price though and so glad you can bring your pets at no extra cost.

Was pleased with the overall experience except for one thing. The bathroom was in pretty bad shape. The shower was disgusting and there was a smear of fecal matter on the toilet. Those two things alone were the only bad part about the room. Room was recently renovated and modern. Would stay again if the bathroom situation was addressed.

Let me start with saying I NEVER leave reviews. But this one deserves one. So it may be long, but worth it. I am so impressed with this motel 6, I know it has a bad rap as a budget hole in the wall, but this was honestly amazing! Guy at the desk was so pleasant and even let us know that the Italian restaurant next door (Crazy Tomato) gives guest a 10% discount! Awesome! *side note — there is no breakfast here at the motel, but there is coffee and vending machines. * The rooms are updated with modern style. The sheets are SOFT! Like I feel the need to replace my own linens at home after sleeping in these super soft ones! The room has multiple lights! Not crappy dim lamps either! There’s lighting individually switched over each bed, a room light, a desk light, light over the mini fridge, LED lights over the sink area and also a separate light in the toilet/tub area. Plenty of light! The outlets are all double faced AND 2 USB slots are also on each switch! The second story double bed room I have comes with a mini fridge and a microwave, the thermostat is in-room controlled and there is a flat screen TV hung on the wall above the small semi circle table that has two chairs Overall I am extremely pleased with the cleanliness of the lobby and room/bathroom, aside from the lack of breakfast the amenities are great-including free Wi-Fi. I would absolutely stay here again!

The only complaint I have is the smoking area is right outside our room, so with the air conditioner going, it sucks the smoke smell into the room. We have a handicap son, that doesn't need that, neither do I. Other than that, everything and everyone has been great.

Clean rooms and comfy beds for a good price. Glad there is no smelly carpet in the rooms… thank you!

Motel 6 in Kingsport was surprising in all the right ways… modern, clean, well designed, and very comfortable! I honestly haven't stayed in a nicer 6 with my wife and dogs than this one.

As far as Motel 6 goes, this is one of the best. NFL Sunday ticket and anything you want, if they can, they will. Nice clean big room. Everyone has been so nice. And I understand the policy of not renting to locals because it's not for parties. I really appreciate that coming from LA. I get to sleep.

I really like the new renovations! Love the look of the hard wood floors and definitely understand the functionality, but the room echoed a lot without carpet. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Kingsport!

The room was serviceable but showed signs of age. I didn't do anything other than sleep and depart. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. It was a cheap night on a long drive and I would stay again.

For the price, one shouldn't expect The Ritz. The staff was friendly and the room was adequate for a simple overnight stay during a multi-day trip. The room was somewhat worn; but, again, it functioned for a simple overnight stay. I would use this Motel 6 again.

Clean recently remodeled room, at this time there was a major renovation taking place at the motel, all rooms were being redone. Some noise during the day but nights were fine. The room I stayed in, 209, had a very hard to use tub/shower flip valve. The pull-up-lever on the tub faucet needs to be fixed or replaced.

I accepted a "smoking" room and next time I'll choose "non-smoking". I guess I'm not used to the smell anymore, but it was so strong an odor that I bought some Febreze to freshen up the air in the room! Also, the microwave in Rm. 205 had a malfunctioning turntable which ended up burning parts of what I cooked and the refrigerator semi-froze my fruit. Aside from those little troubles, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. I appreciate the use of the front office computer and the morning coffee was good. I like the proximity of restaurants, a supermarket, and gas stations!

Motel 6 was nice. It was comfortable and very cheap. Motel 6 even let's your dogs in the room. It was quiet, polite people, and rooms were nice. Overall, this was a good experience.

Good clean place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet room. Very simple but low-cost and functional.

In room 112, the headboard was not secured to the wall properly. I noticed this because it was being supported by the plug from the lamp that was not functioning properly. The plug was partially dislodged. I put the headboard back on the piece of wood that was secured to the wall, then pushed the mattress up against the headboard to hold it in place. Also, when I tried to iron a shirt, the iron did not seem to heat up properly. The ironing board was pretty flimsy & was lacking a pad under the cover. Both rooms were musky as if there were a mildew problem. My sinuses got stuffed up immediately. The other time I stayed at this motel in room, 112, the lamp with two bulbs was not working properly. Only one light would come on of the two.

I guess since it was Motel 6 I should not expect much. They pretty much just " leave the light on" for you. No little samples of shampoo, no coffee pot or any extras. It used to be a Holiday Inn Express and it was great. I should learn not to expect much from Motel 6. I will say shower was good but they probably still had Holiday Inn Express shower heads.

I had to make a quick pit stop for the night on my way back from a long drive from Texas back to Maryland. I decided to try this Motel 6 and I based my decision off of reviews from other guests who has recently stayed here. The price was right. The hotel room was clean, I'm assuming recently renovated and painted. Loved that it was more modern with platform beds, hardwood floors and a big 42" TV on the wall! The pillows were quite comfy and it was nice that it had both a microwave and nice mini fridge. We were able to keep our pizza in there overnight. No wasted food. Woot! go motel 6. It was also easy to locate off of the highway. Just a half mile off of the exit. Very convenient. I will certainly return on my next ROAD TRIP back from TEXAS. Thanks again! :)

I have stayed here before and once again have no complaint. Love that you get microwave and refrigerator in room, comfy bed and it is quiet. Did NOT see any of the questionable activity that is sometimes obvious at lower price hotels. Very friendly staff and really good Mexican restaurant 2 doors down.

Rooms were great and big and beds were very comfortable and staff was very helpful.

Be sure and tell your housekeeping staff that I just love having my pain medication stolen! The place is a dump. Should have stayed in a dumpster and both saved the money and had more quality service.

This is a great place. Very nice updated rooms. Flat-screen TVs in all rooms. Good Wi-Fi. The staff is nice and helpful when you screw up the TV while trying to hook up your Xbox.

BED BUGS! The rooms look nice and they look clean but full of bed bugs I complained and they would not give me any refund so I asked to be changed to another room they changed me to three different rooms and they all have bed bugs and huge ones really disgusting! Please be careful and my advice always ask to see a room before staying in any hotel.

Understaffed and the maid complained about her job daily. Won't be back.

I would only use this second rate hotel as the last resort, as in my case. The first thing that happen was that the night clerk quoted me a price over the phone and when I went to sign in he tried to up the price. The second incident was when I went back to the office to get more towels because there were only two towels in the room even though it was a double bed room, I found the doors were locked and even though I rang the bell for a least fifteen minutes and was calling the office on my cell phone at the same time nobody came to the door. Found out later the night clerk had a habit of going to the backroom and sleeping. I eventually had to go to the nearby Walmart and buy some towels. After getting into the room, we discovered that the security lock was broken, the wallpaper was coming off the walls, there was mold on the shower curtain, curtain rod was hanging by a thread and the ironing board had brown spots all over it. My wife felt so uneasy about getting under the covers that she slept in it with her clothes on. The funny thing about the whole experience was that they wanted to charge me $200 on Friday because it was the NASCAR weekend in Bristol. Needless to say I checked out the next day and found us a nicer hotel down the road.

I have stayed here for two days, I Will be here the rest of the week as well. My room is clean, the. Staff here is awesome. Super friendly and helpful. The location is great! So far my overall experience has been wonderful! From now on, this will be where I stay if I need a room.

No truck parking. Beds are acceptable but way to soft for me. Overall not bad for a break from the road and the price.

I had been driving for 11 hours and told myself I would stop at the next exit with hotels. I had stayed in a very nice Best Western in Arkansas the night before, so I felt good about coming here. The staff was very nice, but when I went up to my "non-smoking" room, I was hit by the smell of decades of smoke impregnated in all decades-old linens, curtains & carpet. The room smelled horrible! I debated whether or not I should ask to be moved, but I suspected they wouldn't have a better room, and I really didn't want to find another hotel. I decided to take a shower, and the bathrooms clearly had been remodeled recently, and they looked clean. But the shower curtain was mounted in the wrong spot — to far in — — and it hung somewhere in the middle of the tub. So the curtain kept sticking to me which really creeped me out. Also the remote wasn't working… And really, all of this I could have overlooked if it was a $50 hotel room, but it was not much cheaper than the other really nice hotels I stayed in during my trip. Really the worst is putting a non-smoker in a room that clearly has been smoked in a LOT. I plan to write a complaint letter.
