Day 2 of our stay fighting in parking lot pool overcrowded with people. Day 3 of our stay no room service no clean towels, no trash taken out. Went down to lobby to get towels attendant told me I couldn't have towels this late at nite he brings out sheet of paper showing that room service stated that room service was done in room. No vacuuming, bathroom not cleaned. I told attendant to give me my money back and I will leave he said I'm not authorized to do that. First and last time staying here. Looked like a war zone here on second nite. Police wwas here twice on second nite. My suggestion don't stay here needs alot of updating done to roorooms. Bathroom so small and outdated. Was in town for family function. Will never stay here again. This hotel should be closed down. Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed at. I will stay at my usual place when in town at the country inn by IHOP. Also towels were no cleaned that attendant gave me. Towel had a blood stain on it. How disgusting.

Arrived at this hotel, checked in the lady working the desk gave us a room on the 3rd floor then advised us the elevator was broken. I asked her to give me a room on the first floor because I had alot of luggage and it would be easier to get into the room. She said that was the only room available at this time. She was nice enough to help us carry all of our stuff up 3 flights of stairs. After getting moved in the room beside us got rented those people partied all day and night for 2 days me trying to sleep after being up all night wasnt a option for the loud noises from the next room and outside. People always in the parking lot being loud and playing loud music day and night. So I called the reception desk one morning after getting off work the lady answered I asked her if she could please do something about the noise in the next room she stated "Well you are downtown and its loud here. " I asked her if this hotel had policies and rules she laughed and said yes. So I asked to speak to her manager she said she would have her call me. She never called. The room was in ok condition but the bathroom was very dirty with dirt in the bathtub. After staying there 12 days we decided to find somewhere else to stay. I wouldn't advise anyone that works to stay here. It's loud, obnoxious and no respect for anyone that works.

They had to move me to 3 different rooms because of roaches they are real bad. Then the drug dealers are just all over the place. It's nasty there. The staff was great too. House keeping was awful we had to change our own sheets on the bed. Don't stay at Econo lodge in Sumter South Carolina. The worst.

1st room was located in an unsafe place, 2nd room the door didn’t work, & the 3rd & final room had a roach, linens were dirty, and shower shoes had to be worn to take a shower. We had to check out earlier than expected. Now we are currently dealing with trying to get money back from the lodge after being double charged without even an apology! One star was given as the system wouldn’t allow zero stars.

At 8:30am my daughter, son in law and myself went to get some continental breakfast. I made my 5 yr old grandson a waffle, and myself a bowel of grits. When my daughter went to bring the one serving of bagle, and the waffle to the room, the woman at the desk said she could not take the food to the room. Seriously, we have to THROW AWAY A PERFECTLY good waffle instead of taking it to the room for the littke boy to eat, and have our Fathers Day Breakfast with his Daddy, NO… we had ro sut in the grungy, dirty, sticky table with a brunch of children running around, or throw it AWAY!? We THREW IT AWAY, and went back to the room, that the MAID SERVICE DIDNT EVEN COME CHECK YESTERDAY AT ALL!? NO TP, NO TOWELS, NO CLEAN SHEETS, NO VACUUM! Today we'll see if she can make it to our room before 3pm, wr saw her cart 7 rms down at 3, but never even a knock on our door!? Plus, theres dirty feet print on the wall, and cockroaches in the bathroom. Very disappointed. …

This place is not bad for a cheap room… Beds are soft and the people are nice!

The area is terrible and sketchy. And I couldn't even go inside, had to talk through a window… Further showing the quality of the area. There was also what was most likely a prostitute waiting right by the entrance. Needless to say I didn't stay the night there.

The receptionist was awesome but get a front room because the back rooms were not as nice…

Omg. I have never seen so many roches in my life. This place deserves negative 5 stars. We drove off of i95 for 30 minutes to get to it. The man at the front desk was nice but when we enterd the room there were roaches on the bed as well as on the walls. They were also in the bath tub. Please believe me. This place epitamises the term "roach motel". Do not stay here. He did give me a refund thank God. We were leaving either way. They were the little German cock roaches by the way. Not the big "water bugs". In response to the owner. They said they are doing renovation, no there was no renovation that we saw. We were in the back building on the left up top. 2nd to last room on the left up stairs. You do not get an infestation in just one room. It has to be the whole hotel. I had laid my 3 yr old on the bed to sleep … and once we saw all of the Roche's in the bath room and sink area I went to grab my 3 yr old and there was a big roach sitting right beside her. I grabbed her up as fast as I could along with my wife and 5 yr old and got out of there. We felt like stuff was crawling all over us for hours after leaving. And it's not like it was 1 Roach… no there were babies all over everything even inside the light switch. This place should be on the TV show infested! I'd never go back there. So bottom line… if your ok with Roach's crawling all over u at night while u sleep then by all means help yourself!

Really cozy and chill place to stay. The owners are extraordinarily nice and the staff was super friendly. Even though this is an older place (I remember when it was fancy and new), there is a lot of love and care going into it. Definitely the nicest hotel out of the ones in this immediate area. Would stay again.

The hotel isn't that bad. So glad I can get Chinese food delivery here. They accommodate you the best they can. But the only downside in my opinion was the water won't get hot. Nobody wants to take a cold shower!

Great location. The rooms were clean. I was visiting my sister who is in myrtle beach. Myrtle beach is one hour 30 mins from Sumter, but the rates were cheaper and I am glad I stayed here.

Great customer service. Rooms were clean. For a economy hotel, prices were competitive. It was quiet. I will stay here in the future.

For the price, the place is pretty unbeatable. One bummer was that the pool was closed 'for the winter'. It's October 1st and 82 degrees out. They have a very different idea of winter down south haha. Friendly staff, coffee and breakfast in the AM, super hot shower, clean bug free room, comfy beds. Cardio room downstairs to exercise 24/7. Only other mark I'd have to say is that they weren't good at refilling coffee/supplies consumed or changing towels out unless asked more than once.

Clean rooms, friendly service. It was quiet which was nice. Price was great, I will be staying when I am in town.

I'm from NC and stay at Econlodge with my choice privileges points, but the first night was Sunday I had a nice room the lady (who was pregnant) Kudos to her was Great. Monday night the lady was rude I requested the same room which was Wide open but she put my husband and I in this rough looking room, hair was in my tub, the door had some brown cracks in it. I'm not use to this, and working long hours I want to stay in something nice.

Great location. The rooms were clean. The front desk staff was friendly and check in was easy 2 step process. Rates were reasonable for someone on a budget. Thank you for maintening a clean property. Had a good night sleep. Will stay here in the future.

There for work. Reserved 2 rooms. Didn't see any bugs, they had a decent massaging shower, comfortable beds, good air conditioner (if you can figure out the remote control. Lol), a little fridge, microwave, and a mini coffee pot. Coffee is important! Not a bad place for the price. I plan to reserve a room at Econo Lodge of Sumter the next time I have work from that area!

Everyone was incredibly helpful. The room was clean, no roaches, and the staff accommodated us in every possible way. The only real issue I found was that the toilet wasn't cleaned, but how many of us ACTUALLY keep our toilets spotless? The front desk rep, Jodi, asked the maintenance guy to escort me to a vending machine, and he was just so sweet to do that. After the shift change, Marie did everything she could to make sure that we had everything we needed before we turned in for the night. I never got any kind of attitude from the staff, and they were incredibly patient with a needy guest such as myself. Big props to all the staff at Econo-lodge!

My family and I evacuated from Florida due to Hurricane Irma, and ended up in an Econo Lodge in Sumter, SC. It's pretty alright, as far as motels go. If you are financially capable of finding a better place to stay, I would strongly suggest that you do so. If not, the Econo Lodge is certainly one of your better options. It's got cable TV (with Adult Swim, which is good enough for me), a menu for Papa John's (all hail big papa), a microwave, and options for bed sizes. All in all, I give Econo Lodge a solid 60 out of 100.

This has to be one of the biggest shit dumps I've ever stayed at over night. If you want dope and fried bologna for breakfast then this is your place.

I had a great time. The staff was very professional and polite. They offered suggestions as to where to eat and other places for recreation.

Had a wonderful visit. Clean and staff was wonderful!

I give the room a " — O STAR". The rooms have mites you itch, and it smells like a huge ashtray and the blankets on the bed are dirty and stink! The pool is been under construction and "will be ready soon… it's in its final stages"" Just keep driving by… ""DON'T STOP… SPEED BY AND DON'T LOOK AT THIS PLACE ECONO LODGE""! I will let you know about the breakfast and the rest in the morning… it's 2:49am now, just checked in!

Definitely not what I expected… Pool torn up not up to date facility at all very poor amenities … The staff is friendly but that's all I can say positive.

Nobody go there it got mold everywhere and the rooms is filthy dont let the pictures fool you and I wouldn't even give it no stars zero stars.

Wow where to start. I don't know if this place is a victim of the economy, or area, or management that does not care. The area is extremely bad. I was in checked in 1/2/16. At 2pm started hearing what sounded like fireworks, or gunshots, and this continued off and on until 5pm, multiple times, a scary amount of times, and sirens went by multiple times. Alot if people near my room coming and going very frequently, and apparently they forgot how to work a car alarm correctly. One vehicle pulled outside my room door and kept honking for someone. Got to sleep finally around midnight, I put in ear plugs and woke up at 2am because was still hearing something, looked outside and a guy standing outside rooms 218/219 was arguing with someone, I think he saw me as he got quite after I looked out. Shortly after that a white Nissan SUV pulled in front of 218 and kept playing rap music just a few cars down outside my room. I called the office at 4am after only 2 hours of sleep due to all this, the guy said he would see what he could do, well apparently someone saw what they could do by keying my truck under the side mirror and near the lock! I complained to the office upon check out, and they just said "I know", " I know "!? Way to take care of customers! They need a armed security guard, that's a no brainer. If your a gangsta, then this is the place for you!

The outside of the hotel definitely needs a lot of work but to my surprise the inside of the room was fairly nice. They advertised about a jacuzzi but when I asked the girl at the front desk she explained to me it was closed due to the fact it was hard to keep maintained. So, what about the swimming pool? I would think the jacuzzi would be easier to maintain. My boyfriend and I only stayed one night. Do not think I will stay here again. It took the guy at the front desk forever the next morning to print me a receipt.

Its a well rounded place. We normally have room with stove. The swimming area is ok and the workers are pretty friendly. Have some guests that don't need to be there.
