Beautiful grounds, loved the proximity to the beach and the turtles. The restaurant, cafe and bar was great but pricey. The lack of a microwave in the room was inconvenient but there was one near the ice maker. The room was clean but had a bit of a moldy odor. The staff was friendly.

So this was our first time using this hotel and boy from the start it had been a disaster. The start was the restaurant the food was bland our waitress sucked did not wait on us we had to keep asking for things from different people. Second right after dinner I left something in my car and I used the valley parking and I forgot something in my car and my car was pulled all up in the straw over the cement wall and called someone over my phone was dead at the time and I called the valley to come and see this he moved it backwards then called lost prevention/ security which told me I was over reacting over how my vehicle was parked and that there was no major damage as I explained to the douche bag it's my property and regardless how big or small it wasn't like that when I came here I absolutely got no where with it. Then not only my refrigerator didn't work our room door wasn't shutting it took over a hour to have someone come fix it and they moved us to a different room the second room smelled like pure mold so they moved us to a third room which was a lot better but the bathroom looks as if they really don't know how to clean properly. 1st and last we use this property although it's gorgeous. Also very understaffed the bellhop was the only one here and he was amazing had a great attitude will and Hilton at front desk were great I appreciate them listening to me also bar staff was sweet just sad not even 6 hours here and so much chaos.

Ugh! It’s 1030 PM and the noise level is horrible! Unbelievable that this hotel would allow this much noise! The rooms are very mediocre!

The front desk and the bartenders were fine, but the waitstaff in the restaurant was terrible. When we brought it to their attention that there was raw sausage at the breakfast buffet, we were told "that's just how it cooks. I can get another one and show you". It was pink and cold in the middle! Every time we went to the Seacrest the service was terrible and our waitresses were rude. I will not be back. Our room smelled like cat urine, though we also had a pet so we let that slide. For the price that was paid for this hotel/resort, I expected much better.

Stayed here for one night on the way from NY to Savannah Georgia. What an incredibly amazing staff. Richard and Eric at guest services, Prompt and so friendly. Everything was immaculately clean and the pool and spa looked gorgeous but we didn’t have a chance to use them! The fitness center was perfect! I had it all to myself. Top notch.

I have been coming here for thanksgiving since 2010 this year is the worst I’ve ever seen it, no buffet the dinner chairs are absolutely nasty undercooked food and the list goes on. I definitely won’t be back.

Pool bar closes at 5? no music/radios allowed? posted restrictions for children who dig on beach? pay for beach chairs despite the daily activity fees? it is clean and quiet but not quite the recreation facility we expected.

Great place very clean took was amazing. Pool right outside the patio & balcony. The beach was only a stones throw away, beautiful scenery. The Beach was very clean and well kept. The staff members were very courteous and helpful❤I will definitely recommend this place & will be coming back.

Cannot recommend this resort more! We stayed for a few days in late August, and we had a wonderful time. Very clean, great prices, wonderful staff, very accommodating… and the food at the resort is yummy! The whole island is wonderful, and I'm glad we got to venture out and enjoy it before coming back to the resort. The pool and staff there rock! Cannot wait to return to get another banana colada!

Even with COVID this place is amazing! ALL their staff are doing a FANTASTIC job with protecting their guests and themselves!

Great time the staff was amazing. While spending the majority or our time at pool the wait staff was spot on. Mike was a manager at pool and he and our waiter were the best ever. Got stung by a jellyfish and Mike came over with a spray bottle with a mixture for the sting. So sweet.

I absolutely love this resort! We are already planning to come back. It's very relaxing and has a great fun atmosphere. The poolside service is excellent! Actually, everything was excellent!

The food at the resort was pretty amazing. We had unlimited crab legs and drank all night. There are multiple bars everywhere. The beach is very close walk from the hotel and well lit. There's lots to do, from swimming in multiple pools, biking and other activities, there's a calendar of events when you check in. This resort is great for a romantic weekend or holiday.

Went here for our first vacation with our twins, had an amazing time! Staff were very friendly and the pool and beach access are amazing. Lobby and halls get a little hot, but I understand it must be hard to air condition a space this large with people constantly coming in and out. Would love to come back!

Great atmosphere, very family friendly. Quiet, relaxed resort which is very clean and well taken care of. The staff is wonderful and their spa is up to date and the service is outstanding.

Pleasant laid back but stylish resort. Excellent service at Pool bar and restaurant — Nicole at the bar is fabulous and Ricky my favorite server stand out. Both are so friendly and attentive. Shout out to Sannette and Annette at the Pool beach towels service area as welcoming and always smiling! Food is great and reasonably priced. Visit the Spa — it’s very nice! The beach is not crowded and beautiful.

My family and I usually end up staying at the Sonesta at least once a year. The rooms and grounds are very clean. Staff are friendly and gladly take care of your needs. It’s great having two pools, one of which is covered. Great opportunity to get out of the sun. Only downside is that the food and beverages are a little pricey, but hey you’re staying at a resort. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous property, nice rooms with the most comfy beds ever! Wonderful, friendly service every where we went (front desk, restaurants, pool, gift shop and valet). Private beach access was the reason I choose this place and happy I did! Will be back again and again very soon. Too many good things to say.

Excellent establishment with great access to the beach. They have a turtles only beach which is a fun stop to see the smaller turtles swimming around. Poolside was pretty cool, the service is accommodating and attentive. They were able to efficiently serve guests in multiple languages. They have EV charging for regular and Tesla vehicles and be are very lenient with the usage (most likely based on current demand). The Only bad was the room we stayed in was right over the gym and as we wished to sleep in late, those who were more active in the mornings would not allow us that luxury. Try to stay away from that area. The plus to that room was the easy stair way to get to the pool and to the beach without waking very far to the elevators.

Love this resort. The grounds and rooms are pristine! The staff is exemplary. The pool is large enough to accommodate guests, and the beach is literally a minute or two within walking distance. Movies by the pool at night for the kids, and live music for the adults. This resort has everything — bar, restaurant, gift shop, and many more amenities. If you're looking to relax and unwind, look no further. The Sonesta Resort is the place to be! I will definitely be returning.

This resort was good for Hilton Head. I think one of the most important things was that if you want a beach towel they are not actual beach towels. They are very small towels meant more for bathrooms. The hotel pool tends to get very crowded after about 11 and can sometimes be hard to find two or more chairs close to each other. It does have good access to the beach and the rooms were good and is what I would expect from a resort like this. Overall it was a good Resort for the money. But I wouldn't call it amazing.

This place is amazing. The staff was amazing, the room service was by far the best we ever been to. They even straighten our bathroom utensils (a first). A very clean resort and everyone was so nice. Even the valet gentlemen were top notch (request Garfield, he went above and beyond). Great place to be and we will be returning very very soon.

During our last night's stay, there was a boisterous, loud, and incessant party. We notified Guest Services several times, watched security come and talk to our neighbors to attempt to rectify the situation. Our neighbor asserted it was not him making the noise and they had the wrong room. Following, I called an additional time and asked that law enforcement and security find whoever was creating the noise because it was 2 am, still was occurring, and we had a flight out in t…he morning. The person on your staff apologized and offered for us to move. That's right, US! At 2 am! With us leaving in the morning, it would have been way too much to pack at that hour, let alone move. It was outrageous that, with communication with Guest Services, this continued throughout the night without ever being resolved. We were exhausted the following morning and it turned our otherwise fantastic stay at your resort, a horrible one.

I would never recommend this resort. Things broken in room, housekeeping staff unfriendly and not helpful. Pools too small to accommodate amount of people there, small rooms. Just a poor choice of location all the way around.

My wife and I came down last year and decided to come again this year. I have never been to a reasonably priced resort with such outstanding customer service in every respect. Every member of the staff are easily identifiable, extremely helpful, cherry, and readily available to assist with anything you need. We are going to go back to this resort every year. The facilities and guest rooms are always very clean. The pool atmosphere always has great vaca / cruise type music, and the food and drinks at the pool are better than many restaurants I’ve been to and that’s no exaggeration! You are missing out if you pass this place up.

I decided to surprise my husband for his birthday. We were so excited to have a night without kids and to relax. Last night I had an accident in the room and slipped and fell, which by the way never happens. At first all I could do was laugh, because I couldn't believe I just fell in the shower. And I found out afterwards there was a mat under the sink area. Well I never think to put those down or look for one unless it's for the kids. They were very attentive and I was just embarrassed. So I told the nice manager last night that I was fine… but come morning I was not so okay. I ended up falling in between the tub and toilet and catching myself with the shower curtain. So my whole left side was aching from my calf to my back. I tried to explain that to management and to let them know that it also bent the rod somewhat… all she said was that to let her know if I needed ice… hmmmm. No I think I needed more than ice. I was not feeling good at all when we went to check out so my husband decided to say something and the same lady didnt want to do anything but finally just took our breakfast off the bill. So my point in writing this was to tell you it's not that I want something else but that it's all in how you are treated, she could have been more attentive and more sympatheric. Not just to say ill give you some ice.

My family had a wonderful time here. Right on the beach and has all the amenities you'd expect. The pool area is fun. At night they'll do a movie at the pool and there are hammocks and fire pits around the property for relaxing. You can rent a bike for the whole weekend and just take that anywhere you want to go. Really enjoyed it.

Our favorite getaway spot! Nicole is the best and always treats us like family at the bar by the pool. We feel like royalty when we stay at Sonesta. U have to experience it to understand just how great they make you feel! The beach is beautiful and very private. We will be back again and again, for sure!

Unbelievably beautiful and wonderful. Rooms are great. If you need anything, just text them. Turtle lagoon, ocean beach, great restaurants and bars. Chef Mike customized my food for allergies… it was the best EVER. Good blood orange martini, too. Only negative experience — not enough handicapped parking spaces.

I'm not the type of guy that going to look for the most expensive place to stay just because I can. But when my company sent me for training I got booked at the resort where the conference was so this country boy got a little classy real quick. From the moment I got out of the taxi I was greeted with a smile and had the gentleman offering to carry my bag. Then when I walked up to the desk probably looking lost the young ladies at the counter were very helpful with my room info, where my event was, a map of the resort and where the food was (cause big guy like me loves food), and also took the time to show me local bars on the island map. Now the room is very clean, the bed is incredibly comfy, and the house keepers are very nice. I'm not a water guy but I did go check out that big piece of water right outside the back door. I'm very happy with this place as a whole, and if for some reason I ever come back out this way I'll be stayin here again.

I mainly took a star off because the food available leaves a bit to be desired, especially for what you are paying for the room. No breakfast included, why not? Many cheaper hotels have it. Plus the room could have used a more thorough cleaning, especially the bathroom. Other than those minor complains, it's a great resort. It has a nice pool area and easy beach access. Plus a bar right by the pool and one in the lobby. It's also convenient that there's a restaurant in the hotel, though the food is pretty pricey. Overall the room was nice. It had a TV, mini fridge, closet, and a balcony with a couple of chairs on it to get some fresh air. For the price it was alright. Hilton Head Island is a great place to visit though, regardless of where you are staying.

This place is gorgeous. Beach is wonderful to walk for miles. The rooms are pretty and spacious. Only complaint I have even though is not the resort's fault is that I had a connected room and the drunks next to us were loud and disrupted my sleep for the 2 nights we were there. Food is to die for. Some of the staff were amazing. First night my husband was ignored at the bar downstairs. He left without them asking if he needed help. Our stay was excellent.

This place is very nice if you like the resort style hotel. The only thing is you definitely pay for the resort style. Sometimes they add a tip on your bill sometimes they don’t. There isn’t much to do after 10 pm at the resort or the island. Very friendly staff and the rooms are great!

We loved this hotel! When you walk in you feel fancy :) The front desk was awesome when we were checking in and they offer fresh cucumber or some other infused water in the lobby. Our room was comfortable. We didn't use the pool but walked by it to get to the beach. The walk isn't far but it isn't close either… and I lost a flip flop but being barefoot wasn't all that bad. There are also ponds with turtles. They have towels you can borrow to bring to the beach. The bar area was pretty packed at night. Even our kayaking guide from earlier that day told us to ask for this bartender he knew who worked there. I'm not one who hangs out at the hotel bar but this place looked classier than a hole in the wall bar. They have scheduled movies and activities for kids on certain nights. They had a projector out at the pool and played a kids movie which I thought would be awesome if I had a kid of age.

Excellent! The pictures are exactly what you get. The hotel has a private access to the beach. Our room was supposed to have a garden view. Instead, we were given the pool view. Normally, I would've mind but at night they played a Disney movie on a big screen above the pool so my kids sat on the balcony to enjoy the movie. I would definitely stay again.

I have stayed with the Sonesta several times than my most recent trip which was April 5-6. For the one night stayed, the price was $347. I recieved a room on the first floor which I was later informed that all rooms on the first floor are "Pet Rooms". The room had a half used toilet paper roll, one decorative pillow and smelt. The bed had hair in it and there usually is a duvet cover in which there was not. It was a sheet, a comforter and another sheet. All in which had what looked like dog hair and there was even a curly black hair on the bed which resembled a pubic hair. I complained to the front desk and they sent new linen and gave me passes to breakfast in the morning. In which at breakfast, no one asked if we needed anything, they brought out water but no one checked on us after that. I have loved my stay with the Sonesta every other time, I do not recommend a room which is on the first floor. For $347 for one night, you'd think the room would be extravagant and the cleanliness would show. But, it looked like a 2.5 star hotel room with the way everything just looked thrown together.

My husband and I stayed for a wonderful five days at the Sonesta on Hilton Head Island. The resort is gorgeous. The staff was awesome — from the front desk to the concierge to the valet to the cleaning lady to to restaurant staff — everyone was professional and accommodating. The walk to the private beach was beautiful. We sat in the comfortable chairs by the fire pit on the cooler nights and strolled on the beach to watch the beautiful waters on the few days that the sun appeared. Happy hour at the lobby bar was a blast. We had a few laughs and drinks with some of the other guests. My only issue was the amount of time that it took the hot water to heat up — over 5 minutes. Oh, and no microwaves in the rooms was a bit of a downer. Other than that, I highly recommend the Sonesta! A day trip to Savannah and/or Charleston is an added bonus to the area. Beauty everywhere! We will be back!

This was a nice resort. Not too far from anything. On the beach. We had a resort view, which was basically view of the parking lot, it sucked. The walls are super thin, we can hear the people next door talking. Also the music in the lobby, is very loud, if you are early to bed, get a room farther away from the lobby, elevator. Enjoy the happy hour in the lobby. Staff is very nice. Lucky was a nice young lady that had treated us to chocolate dip strawberries, & champagne, as we booked extra nights there. Thank you lucky.

Service was excellent! The restaurant's food wasn't good at all but the waiting staff was great! I'd rather eat at Hudson's. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a massage that was relaxing as well. I'd love to come back in the summer.

Clean room The Fine Dining is lovely. The Breakfast Buffet is amazing! The Garden is peaceful. Pools are clean. Great access to the beach. Our family enjoyed our stay and will be coming back again for a peaceful experience. Thank you!

This is a wonderful resort with fantastic service, delicious food and a great beach! I had a marvelous weekend trip here. It's also family and pet friendly so you can bring the kids and dog for a complete family getaway.

Great rooms. Both outdoor heated and normal pools. Private beach access with bike rental options (and the beach is dog friendly). Really nice staff and just overall very beautiful place.

Gorgeous facility! Nice rooms and amenities. Awesome breakfast! Super-friendly staff! I love how the ambient light on the floor lights up from the motion sensor when you swing your feet off the bed; keeps you from stubbing your toe in the dark or disturbing others by turning on a light in case you need to get up in the middle if the night. I LOVE the fact that Savannah is so close; I took my wife there for our afternoon date (fastest drive-time; didn't seem like a hour-long trip). Would have given this a five-star rating, but we were told at the desk that the delay in getting our room keys was due to the room not being ready. When we get to our room, we find a spider that resembles a Brown Recluse floating in the toilet (whomever cleaned the room could have flushed once more before leaving and would have never been the wiser). This obviously set my wife and I on edge and made us go searching the room for any other creepy crawly things that might be hiding out.

This is a beautiful resort. The staffs were friendly. My Husband and I have breakfast — in-bed and this was nice to experience. The food was a little spendy. We had the Garden view first floor. It would be better to get a higher room see the ocean. One thing the resort can work on is picking up used bath towels.

The beds is soft and comfy, rooms are cleaned. The lady at the front desk was really nice and funny Zulfira is her name I think. She checked in on me to make sure everything was good with my room. It's beautiful out here. The only complaint I have is the walls is so thin. I can hear everything in the next room. I will be back. I think microwaves should be in the rooms. It'll be more convenient not to have to go down the hall.

This was our first time being there, it was am extremely great experience. Staff was friendly, and the resort was excellent. One thing they could definitely improve on is their gym, floor was dirty (dust bunnies and hair) and the carpet looked old and outdated. Otherwise beach access was beautiful and the staff friendly. Hilton head is an awesome vacation spot and we hope to return in the near future.

Even though I don't play golf, and I think all resorts are just overpriced hotels, Sonesta was actually really nice and gave me a very good weekend getaway. Probably the best part is the location — right in the heart of Hilton Head, but in a private community, and on the beach. It's basically perfect. Why only four stars then? Oh, because resorts are just overpriced hotels.

Accommodations were comfortable, quiet and modern. The staff were top notch and friendly. They went out of their way at all levels to make our stay outstanding. Finally, the menus at both the bar and restaurant were so good we ended up cancelling reservations elsewhere. Happy hour and football game specials at the bar were also great. We will definitely go back!

Pros: Great customer service, amazing spa, delicious food, super comfy bed, great location, fire pits are wonderful, dolphins frolicking in the morning. Cons: Unruly dogs barking at random hours, watched 2 local dogs with their owners go after a Sonesta guests dog… insane. Desserts need to be better, they were just so-so and not freshly made. My overall experience was great! I would highly recommend staying here because the pros far outweigh the cons. Didn't spend much time in my room except to sleep but truly enjoyed how comfy the bed was. There is much to do around HHI and I will be going back in the near future.

The property is well maintained and very clean. My room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I honeymooned here 5 years ago, and it was an even better experience at this visit. My favorite feature is the close proximity to the ocean. There is very little light pollution at night, so stargaze to your heart's content.

We had a wedding at the Sonesta and it was wonderful! Kristen was very patient with us and creative when problems arose. She was very organized and on top of getting everything done. I am so thankful we chose to have our wedding here. The food was delicious and hot when we ate it. The hotel staff helped make our day and experience special.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. This is a hidden gem that I want to keep all to myself! My mini Hawaii is how I see it. Clean rooms, clean hotel, pool is superb, staff is wonderful! This is my new vaca spot! Enjoyable for all age groups, and the price is perfect, will be back soon!

Here on my honeymoon and our experience has been absolutely amazing. We stayed in the presidential suite on 5th floor and it has been absolutely wonderful. Staff has been very friendly and helpful and the place is EXTREMELY clean. The grounds are well maintained, pool is amazing and fitness center is very good. We will now make this an annual trip and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The location in relation to nearby attractions and food is great as well. There are also electric car chargers here so if you have a Tesla, you're good to go! Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!

Our stay at Sonesta in Hilton Head was wonderful! We came for a destination wedding. We arrived on Friday night and left on Sunday morning. The hotel is beautiful and the staff … specifically Ashley, took excellent care of all of our needs. When we were checking in, the only king size room left for our "block of rooms for the wedding" was on the first floor and was considered a pet friendly room. We asked to speak to a manager and that is when Ashley came and spoke with us. Ashley was super efficient, she listened to our desire to change rooms and took care of it for us immediately. On Saturday morning we called and asked the front desk, again it was Ashley, for extra coffee and creamer for our room. She sent a staff member up with coffee pods in cups but when I unpacked the cups, there was no creamer. I called down to the desk and told Ashley that we didn't get the creamer and asked if she please send someone back up. She brought the creamer up to our room herself within minutes. During the wedding reception a male management staff member and our waiter, not sure of their names, made sure to have nonalcoholic beer available for me, as I don't drink. I felt like the staff truly cared about our needs. Again, the hotel was beautiful, well-maintained and very clean. We loved our room and a view of the pool. We would definitely go there again!

Location: perfection! Pool, bike rentals, beach, everything just a short distance Staff: friendly, prompt, and helpful Concierge: provided amazing details helping us choose a golf course and dining options; were very happy with the recommendations Spa: friendly staff and great services; very accommodating Restaurants: limited options, but good food and service. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Overall: great options whether you're a couple or family with little ones! My only compliant is that I wish the hotel had airport transit because Ubers can be very limited. Request room 5009 for the great views and utmost privacy without a suite!

Excellent service excellent rooms. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and were very pleased with the whole place. The accommodations are great the bartenders have a heavy poor and ALL of the staff was pleasant helpful and seemed generally happy to be there which says a lot about a facility. We had a couple of issues with the room during our stay but they were promptly dealt with. Will definitely return.

We stayed at this resort for 6 nights/7 days. It was a beautiful place. If you want to eat breakfast there everyday, I highly recommend paying for the bed and breakfast package which includes the breakfast buffet like we did otherwise it will cost you $47 every morning. Don't bother eating other meals at the resort they are overpriced and their are much better places around Hilton Head Island. Also bring your own beer, snacks, and bottled water to the resort unless you want to pay a fortune for those too. Otherwise the pool was great and so was the beach. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Nice place, a little over designed using way too many materials. Someone went a little too nuts on picking every option instead of streamlining he feel of the lobby and he corridors. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the linens were top notch. Service outstanding as well. Location to the beach was perfect however establishments like this are common…

Not sound proofed enough to have a 4 star rating. We could ear the toilet flush in the room above. Voices carry through walls in the room next door and above. You'd think at this price you'd have a really quiet room. Service and cleanliness were great.

We had a wonderful time there on our Mother — Daughter weekend getaway. The service was great and the room wad nice an clean. Our check in was effortless as the young lady was very accommodating. We are looking forward to going back.

Wonderful hotel and resort! Right on the beach with a great pool and staff. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because they don't have enough parking. This forces you to use and pay for the valet service.

This place was definitely gorgeous and right by the ocean, if that's what you're looking for. However, when you use a debit card as payment for your room, they will hold a certain amount of money that cant be explained for 7 to 10 business days. After already holding another amount for incidentals. My friend and I split the room cost and they double charged her for the room, and charged me also. Like I said, it's beautiful and scenic, but I wish I knew about random holds on my bank account before trying to make my payment.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT LOVE IT! It's a little pricy but you're right on the water. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pools are Great! If you are in the area, stay here! You won't regret it.

Just arrived yesterday, the service has been fantastic. The guest Services representative at check in was amazing, and even though I arrived late, they still have the full overview of what the resort offered. The following morning, had a problem with our room delivered breakfast as a fruit plate want delivered as ordered. Guest Services connected us to the kitchen after they had already closed, but that did not stop the kitchen manager from delivering the missing fruit plate personally to the room door! So far, so good!

This resort is absolutely beautiful! Our family loved it. The outdoor scenery is definitely worth the price. This location offered a secluded scene as the area is restricted to paying customers only. This means the beach wasn't full of teens like you might see more in Panama City, etc. The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely courteous. If you watch the rates on a daily basis, you might even catch a deal! We were able to save $70 per night by doing this. If we went back, we would absolutely stay at this location again.

This place is great! There is ready access to all the amenities including the beach and great pools. The rooms are clean, modern, and inviting. Don't have any negatives yet.

Location is nice (my first trip to Hilton Head). Rooms are beautiful, artwork throughout the resort is very nice. However I was upgraded (through a free seasonal promotion) to a "view" room, which overlooks a parking lot. Not my idea of a nice view. Otherwise my experience has been good. Staff are helpful and courteous, and the food at in-resort restaurants has been good or better. I would return (hopefully on a personal trip so I can enjoy the area more than my work engagements allow).

Great beds, great food, all around good experience. Even had crab leg dinner for 24 bucks. My wife had an amazing Red Snapper. 10/10 would go back!

Reserved a double room and checked in @ midnight only to find out we were reserved a King bed; for 3 people. Took them 2 hrs to figure out there were no more double rooms available ; finally slept on a pull-out couch at 2am. The service is incredibly slow and with a bad attitude. The wireless was not working for most of the morning on Friday while I had to work. Ultimately had to move in and out of room 3 times over the course of 3 days. I've stayed here multiple times but this one experience was very disappointing.

My wife and I stayed here March Break 2016. Sonesta Hilton Head was really great, in so many ways but I would like to point out a couple of areas where I feel they fell short. First I'd like to mention the good and than the needs improvement. The Good ACCESSIBILITY First of all, being mindful of the disabled, my wife and I (who thankfully are not disabled) were pleased to see how accessible this hotel is. They have ground rooms with accessibility (and eye holes at approx 3' from the ground). There are also lifts at the pools for wheelchair bound folk who want to go swimming. Additionally the non-heated pool you could simply walk into as it has a slight decline area. FRONT DESK Checking in, especially very late was not a problem at all. Seamless really. The staff at the front desk are friendly and attentive. THE ROOM The room we had was quite large with a king bed. It was clean and quite modern. It had a really nice big HD smart TV. There was a small (I mean tiny) fridge in our room that we were able to fill with a six pack of beer, a small cream cheese, some samosas and a glass of milk, as well as some other odds and ends (just to give you an idea of what you could bring should you want to). Redundantly we had bought some food to cut a wee down on some costs. The bathroom was bright, clean and modern. I really liked the self lowering toilet lid. THE POOL The pool areas are clean and comfortable with regular lounge chairs as well as some lounge style beds.

Excellent resort with an excellent staff! Very friendly and helpful, and the beach is beautiful and in the perfect location to watch the sunrise! Very clean and feels as safe as home… Can't wait to come back.

I was shocked at how AWESOME dinner was! And it wasn't like they prepared one meal for my wife and I… we were at an event of 450 people! Fantastic chef!

It was fine. Comfortable seating with enough space between tables. Room size was adequate. Servers were courteous, very little communication from them. Food was fine.

The Sonesta was great. The people are easily the nicest and most helpful we have met on the island. The rooms were perfect, from fit and finish of construction to cleanliness, nothing is out of place. Our room had a garden view, which basically means the pool, but was beautiful all the same. Easy beach access, very quiet. Seems to be a older crowd of people who stay here.

My Husband and I stayed here in October 2015 while we were shooting a wedding on Hilton Head. We are professional photographers and travel a lot. Upon arrival we checked into our $300 a night room and then asked the front desk where could we get a luggage cart. She stated at the front entrance with the bellhop. We then asked the bellhop if we could use one of the 4 empty luggage carts lined up next to him and he stated he was not allowed to. This is not a busy hotel and there were no guest waiting for the bellhop so there was no good reason we could not use one other then he wanted a tip. He stated that it was a full service resort so guest were not allowed to use carts by themselves and that we would have to go back to the front desk and ask for the manager. We kindly explained that we needed to carry in our camera equipment and we do not let others carry it for us bc it is worth over $30, 000 in gear and any accidentally drop or bump of a bag could cost us a lot and the bride no pictures the next day for her wedding. He got very rude with us and stated we had to go back to front desk to ask manager for permission. So my husband went back to the front to ask for the manager. She called the bellhop on the phone sitting next to him that my guess is he could have called her on but instead made us walk back into our $300 a night hotel to beg for a cart. After that encounter at the beginning of the trip it put really bad energy on the place and was a huge disappointment.

Overall good experience. Room and resort areas were really nice. Only complaint was that we could hear loud guests in neighboring rooms at times.

Staff is outstanding. Very hands on management. Clean and comfortable rooms. Spa was delightful.

Customer service at the actual "front desk" was horrible when calling to see about rescheduling or cancelling due to the incoming hurricane, flood advisories, impassable roads in the state after the alloted 72 hr cancellation policy was passed. Policy is policy, but I might have felt a little better about the entire situation and less angry about having to pay the "cancellation fee" if the staff had not been so condescending and very hostile toward the entire situation. Doubt I will ever even give this place a chance after the service I received prior to arrival…

The governor of SC has declared a state of emergency as of last night, and Hilton Head is under a Coastal Flood Advisory and a Flash Flood Watch, but Molly at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head won't reschedule or refund my reservation at the hotel because I got a 37% discount on the rate through Priceline. I guess? We made the reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but Hurricane Joaquin and its surrounding storms made that impossible. I asked twice through Priceline and even volunteered to just move the reservation, but got a no. The weather sucks and it's not my fault, but they're just going to keep my cash, anyway. So much for customer service and doing the right thing. Avoid. This. Place.

My Wife and I love coming to the Sonesta. One of the jewels you will notice right away is the staff; the smiles you’ll receive are genuine and the welcome will make you want to do it all over again. It’s crazy, when were finally in the room, my wife unpacks, showers then slides into her swimsuit and it’s off to the pool. The Pool is a great feature; I promise you, two years ago, we spent the entire vacation poolside. The poolside food is awesome the music makes you feel like dancing, while the entire atmosphere seems to transform you to a tropical Island in Jamaica. The resort features several host with the traditional Jamaican accents, if you didn’t leave there is no way you would not feel like you were in Jamaica. There are Cabanas, a fire pit with seating, several hammocks, and all with a short walk to the beach. One of my favorite parts of my stay is the all you can eat breakfasts buffet, however my Wife’s favorite part is every memory she takes with her when we leave, and her can’t wait till next year to do it all over again face she makes. My Wife is a Sonesta Lifer, and coming here the past three years, I now know why. When you come ask for Molly she is a Front Desk Manger, she has the most sincere approach to management. You don’t often get to meet the GM, however we did, and if you have a problem he is solution driven, and to him your experience is his main concern. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the free WI-FI, let us not forget we are on an Island.

Great place for a family vacation. Close to the beach, close to several shopping / eating areas, well kept premises, decent outdoor pool area, friendly staff and several kids activities. The only complaint I have is that the Wi-Fi is slow and unreliable.

Terrible food, drinks, and service at the Seacrest restaurant. VERY disappointed. Sent drinks back. Food tastes like a box, and service never came to refill or ask for a new drink once finished. Will NOT recommend this to anyone! The food and restaurant should be something to look forward to. Payed $102 for crap food and drinks. Resorted to beer because we knew what comes with that. Only good thing, the biscuits. MANAGEMENT should have came to visit our table. VERY disappointed!

It is true 4 star hotel. You get what you paid for. Overall, we had good time with this resort. Pro — Clean facility, friendly staff, easy to access beach. Quality of restaurants. Large smart TV. Con — Coffee machine was not clean inside, no microwave,

Great family vacation spot and romantic getaway! Staff is outstanding, they go out of their way to accommodate, make you feel comfortable and extremely friendly. Stayed here two different occasions and will continue to go back. Rooms, pool, lobby are exceptionally clean and updated. Rooms are very quiet. Poolside grill is amazing with great food and drinks. Beach was powder soft and well maintained. When you want to get out of the sun you can swim in a covered pool and nap in a personal poolside cabana. Local activities and restaurants are abundant. We loved Sonesta.

We have stayed her 2 years in a row for spring break and boy do we love this place. The food is outstanding and the accommodations are perfect for a spring break retreat. Love the pop of orange thru out the resort. Will defiantly be back.

Affordable, recently upgraded, clean, friendly, with convenient access to the beach. A really good place to take children for a casual pool and beach trip. I would not recommend eating at the hotel if you are a foodie. If you only care about convenience and you don't care about expense, the food is fine. If you are a food snob and/or if you are on a budget, there are better options nearby (short drive). For quick and casual, Dough Boys Pizza, Java Burrito and Gruby's have real quality food at moderate price points.

The most amazing experience at hotel I have ever experienced in my life the room was gorgeous and huge! I proposed to wife there and the services was amazing and every single person the staff from the upper level management front desk, house keeping, the bar and especially the conceigor provide us with the dream experience! Will back every year for rest our lives.

My husband and I recently had a long weekend away at Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head based on good reviews and photos. Overall, the design was updated with a sleek and contemporary atmosphere. The rooms were well done too — especially the lighting and countertop in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and professional, and access to the beach was a short walk. They had two pools and one hot tub — they were all mostly full all the time, and there were children everywhere (family-friendly). I wouldn't say this is a place for singles or couples wanting a romantic or quiet weekend. I mean, there were kids running and splashing everywhere and we even saw some kids in diapers getting into the hot tub — disgusting! They also have two restaurants that basically have the same small menu and is too expensive since the food was average. We dined out instead after eating our first 2 meals at the resort. Overall, our experience there was okay. It's surprisingly labeled a AAA 4-Diamond resort, but that's probably based on the rooms and overpriced dining. Will not be returning.

This hotel was beautiful! I love the outdoor area next to the beach. It was so peaceful and serene in the morning. I ate at one of the restaurants inside of it and the food was fantastic. The employees were very accommodating. The room was very spacious.

My husband and I visited the resort for a quick romantic getaway. We got the two for $200 special (two nights for only $200.00). Upon our arrival, we were surprised with an upgrade to the Garden View Suite, which was nice. Rooms were very modern looking and clean! We visited the bar during happy hour, and enjoyed some $6 appetizers and drinks! The room service and restaurant is a bit pricey, but there are so many local eateries that we just found a nice place on the island. The staff was courteous and we just had a wonderful overall experience.

Our second time visiting Sonesta HH. This time we used our travelzoo vouchers. This is a great kid friendly place. Our girls absolutely love the zero entry pool, the various attractions like bike rides, hammocks, turtle feedings etc. The pool side bar and restaurant serve great drinks (not cheap). We also used the Arum spa and was a great experience. And the beach is within walking distance, but we spent most of the time at the pool which is a great place to socialize with other families with young children This is not a singles meet market (that's the Holiday Inn Beach house down the road) but its a great family resort with upscale amenities and everything you need on the premises. The hotel staff are nice and were very fair with how the reimbursed our mixed bag of travelzoo vouchers etc. (I expected to get screwed out of that one but they did everything right) We will be going back more often especially if Travelzoo continues to publish great deals.

Phenomenal experience. Personable staff, beautiful accommodations and overall great experience. The GM Jay W. Is nothing short of a professional after taking over this location. Will be returning for sure.
