I had booked a room at this hotel that was set to begin on 8/1. I found out about the place since friends of ours had said the customer service was really good and the hotel was in an ideal location. This was to be our first trip kid free in over 10 years so we were quite excited. About 10 days prior to our arrival I called to politely inquire about an early check in. I did this since in some of the reviews, previous customers have said they will honor this request. I in no way expected them to but I figured I may as well try as an attempt to maximize our time in Myrtle. When I called, the woman at the desk came off as extremely rude. After some back and forth I politely asked if I could speak with a manager. She said that the manager was off site and refused to tell me when she’s be back. Later in the evening I received a call from a manager named Alexis. At this point I was just trying to get an idea if I should arrive to the hotel early or not since my wife likes to check in first prior to going out into the town. She informed me that I could do what I want since she cannot see into the future. I found this type of response highly unprofessional but I ended it by saying we will see you at 4pm which was the posted check in time. The next morning I received a message from Expedia saying my reservation had been cancelled at the hotels request. I messaged Alexis to find out what was going on.

This is the most amazing hotel to stay at! the owners and staff are just the best ever. I myself and others will definitely be back. Rooms clean, pool beautiful. Thank you for sick a amazing stay ☺️♥️

Not a good place to stay people are very rude and they're not a friendly type hotel.

Our room was bright white, beds were clean and comfy. But the floors were filthy. I spilled some water and wiped it up with paper towels. You can see in the photo how dirty the floor is. Called housekeeping and they came and re-moped the floor. Still not clean but better.

Amazing experience in so many ways! Great attention to detail, beautiful pool, room decor and great location. Pool and within feet from the beach and walking distance to all of the fun on the strip! Great experience.

Ive seen crack houses that were cleaner. So run down and old. Dirty towels, mold in the shower, hole in the wall, balcony door is broken, pretty sure the pool is a death trap and filthy. Omg the elevator is straight out of a horror movie. The desk attendant is non existent. Basically its a sh! +h@\£

The location was great, rooms where very clean, and the staff was friendly.

False advertisement, shady bussines! be aware. The front desk attendant was super nice, same as the employee that helped us book our reservation but other than that our visit went downhill as soon as we saw the room. They requested a full payment as soon as we arrived, 5 minutes in the room and we had to walk right out. The door going to the balcony had three locks but non of them worked so security was a big issue, the door had holes at the bottom as if an animal had been eating it out. My husband sat on the bed and it felt like a rock. So we went back downstairs to request a refund. The attendant stated that she had to keep the first night deposit and would only be able to refund the rest. Then we requested a cancellation statement as proof and she said she didn’t have a way to that either. So I requested something in writing; she promised our refund to be in our account within 3-5 bussines days but that never happened. We had to call our bank and report this issue. We were traveling due to a family emergency and this made out trip even worse. Please keep away from this place.

Nasty dont even waste your time or money. I would feel like a horrible parent making my kids sleep in that nasty room. The policy said no refund so I paid 280 just to see how nasty the room was. The lobby stinks so we left our stuff in the car just to walk up and look at the room. I can't believe it's legal to show false pictures on the internet Rob people for their money.

My husband planned this vacation. I was a little concerned once I read the review. He was told the property is older but had recent updates. Well the “suite” was a hot mess, I wore my shoes the entire time. Thank goodness I brought my own linens & pillows. Comforters had cigarette burns. I refused to cook anything there and whatever we put in the refrigerator was kept in a cooler bag. I covered the bathroom floor with towels. We were congested at times with sore throats. Doors were slamming because they were hard to close. The one star is for the ocean view. I felt like I was staying at a low budget motel (no refunds). My hubby felt bad but we made the best of it. In the future he’ll leave the hotels up to me lol.

This place isn't worth 10 bucks. We reserved 2 nights and refused to stay another day as we all sneezed and had sore throats all night. I called manager and she didn't seem to want to accomodate the situation. I demanded a refund and if I don't get one, I will dispute it along with contacting DHEC. There's mildew and the beds were partially replaced with clean ones. Underneath all layers of sheets there was hair, stains and sand on the mattress cover. This building needs to be tore down!

Don't waste your money on this place. Pulled planet on the look like sasquatch slept there last, full of hair. Outdated, not very well kept.

My Boyfriend and I are currently staying at The Waves Hotel at Myrtle Beach and we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our room has an amazing beach view and we are right above the pool. The staff are friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back!

This was a great place to stay at in mrytle beach. The lady at the front desk was very accomodating and pleasant and the room we got was very clean. Also, the hotel was very quiet and I was prepared for a roaring crowd because they were completely booked but it was peaceful and we loved it. I'd definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Beware. We were stuck in a smoked room. Some chemical was used to cover the smell but it wasn’t enough. Asthma kicked up. However the room looked renovated, nice and clean and is close to the beach. Just smelled awful.

Great staff and great room. Needs to be updated and painted but still awesome.

Do not waste your money! 2nd worse place we have ever stayed. Hotel impossible show. Rooms are gross. Please watch the steps I fell down them. Elevator!? Trash can under sink to collect water, sink slow draining, mold in shower and in corners on floor, railing not painted, door to balcony was all busted and splintered and handle pulled from door 1/2", floor board pieces missing, marks on walls. OK that was half the list and I am going to stop there because I need to move past this. I have been to Myrtle many times but my hotel is close due to renovations. This was a horrible mistake!

Service was awesome! Hotel a little outdated, but still good. Just wasn't fond of the smells coming from the room next to us, but I guess that's spring breakers for you.

It should been rated zero but won't let me. The lady the manager is the rudest ever. Like really. The rooms was not the way I thought it would be nasty. They need to remodel as much as possible. I would not never request people to stay here never. The hotel remind me as a Motel 6 in the hood.

Although the hotel looks outdated from outside, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms are perfect and well maintained. They let me stay at the hotel for extra 8 hours with no charge. I recommend it!

So many amenities for such a low price. Right on the beach with a great view. The kitchenette and laundry facilities were great. It's not as slick compared to some of the other hotels on the beach, but it has infinitely more character and charm. Beds were comfy, view was great. Blown away by the bang my buck got in this place. Highly recommended.

Very crusty. Only virtue is that it is on the beach. It needs serious refurbishing.

This is a nice hotel for the price. It may not have all the bells and whistles that the chain hotels have but it nice. It is older, but very clean, which is always the most important thing to me. The staff was very friendly and the beach was right there. Will definitely be back.

Staff members were wonderful. Especially Amanda in check in office. Made us feel like she was sincerely happy we were there.

The staff is great! There was no elevator, but the room was nice and clean; facing the ocean. The crashing waves lulled us to sleep each night. Other guests were quiet and considerate. There was a kitchen with a full sized fridge, stove with an oven, and furnished with dishes. Housekeeping came daily, and we never had to ask for anything. It may not be the fanciest hotel here, but I would stay here any time.

Worst experience of my life the room was dirty stains from the floor to the ceiling. They bait and switched our room, the deadbolt would not lock the property is not secure no staff or security after 11 pm and the back of the building has no doors so anyone can have access.

Friendly little resort tucked into two bigger resorts. Hey you get all the sun, and shade that you need!

The hotel is cute, comfortable, clean. The staff have been very nice, efficient, friendly and housekeeping do a great job. My family is enjoying our stay here!

Room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly during our stay. The hotel is older and needs renovating on the outside. The elevator was malfunctioning the whole time we were there and stopped working altogether on the morning we were leaving. We had to carry all of our stuff down four flights. We told the owner it was malfunctioning on the day we arrived and according to past reviews, it had had issues for months. I would not stay there again due to them charging our card for an additional stay that we cancelled. We have had to dispute the charge with our bank as they claim they never charged us. Staff was extremely rude and hung up on me when I inquired about the charge. Beware…

So I had an issue with The Waves charging me a deposit before I even booked my room. I was going to cancel when I ended the call I thought about it and was just going to bite the bullet and pay the deposit since its for my parents. I call back not even 2 minutes later and the very rude lady I talk with magically wont even answer the phone maybe the reviews about this hotel were right. At least I found out before hand.

One of the cleaning ladies stole money from my wallet, the front desk didn't do much about it or make much of an effort. If you have any money or anything you think is valuable, don't come to this place.

I have stayed at the Waves Hotel on several occasions. I have always had a wonderful experience the staff is very helpful the rooms are extremely clean and they are furnished with everything that you could ever think about having, as if you are at home. I would recommend it highly A visit to the waves hotel.
