Nice economical place to stay. Older hotel. Our room was clean,. No bugs. Great balcony and beautiful view of the ocean. Staff great and very helpful. One of lamps in room was not working, and latch on balcony door was loose. However, maintenance came and fixed issues as soon as they were called. Appreciated the free breakfast. Located in walking distance of restaurants. Especially liked Friendly's Restaurant. Would stay there again.

Considering the price, this hotel was honesty a good deal. It's good a great outdoor pool (I didn't use the indoor pool, so I can't comment on that), excellent location (right in the beach), and our rooms were well kept. The hallways and elevators could use some updating and the breakfast needs more selection. Overall though, this is a bargain and I would consider staying there again.

Would have left a big 0 but that’s not an option in this case. Very unfriendly staff. Nasty rooms. Never wanted to take my shoes off. We needed a room for the night and we called. The guy who answered the phone was the only one who seemed have it together. Didn’t get his name. I’m not a uppity person but never ever again will I stay some where like this.

This was really a low end hotel. It stunk so bad I was concerned for my family. I gave a 1 star because the beach view was great. The staff in the front lobby was very rude to guests. If you have any complaints be nice about it because they know that you can’t leave.

The rooms have cockroaches, the pool has too clorox, they did not put hair conditioner, the fire alarms did not have batteries.

We immensely enjoyed our stay at Econo Lodge Inn and Suites in Myrtle Beach. Check in was quick and we were greeted by friendly staff for the entire weekend. Our room was clean and ready when we arrived. We did stay before the hectic busiest time of year, so with that being said peak season Anywhere you have to deal with many different issues. Our pool side room was great for Our anniversary getaway and will Most definitely book here again. Great location to everything Myrtle Beach has to Offer, shopping, eats and Family Kingdom.

U get what you pay for! It was a surprise for me… well the surprise was on me! As soon as I got there, I said oh Lord, am I in the hood? The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the oceanfront view was phenomenal and the pools (indoor and outdoor pool) was clean. I saw a roach and knew I was completely done. Fire alarm hanging — not connected. The AC unit worked but it looked like it was 1000 years old. This place gets over because of the room rates compared to surrounding hotels. The pictures on here must be from when they 1st opened because it does not look like that now. If this is ur last resort, it will suffice… but they don't EVER have to worry about me again.

The price was reasonable. The view was priceless! When driving you will see a smaller hotel among the giants. Entering, we were greeted and our reservation was processed quickly. We we're given room On entering the second building where the rooms are located, there are 2 elevators. 1 does not work. The ice machine, 2 soda machines and 1 snack machine. Coming off the elevator, there was bags of trash sitting next to the Windows. On the plexiglass someone etched crude words. We preceded to the room, as you can tell with the pictures is a very basic room (it is apparent that the floors were just done. And are very nice-just need to update the furniture and bedding). No bells or whistles. Except for the view! Be careful entering the room, as there is a slight step, as well as into the bathroom, and Balcony. The TV made a consistent noise (as if it was on a egg timer). Ugh. Need to hear the news and weather report. Tomorrow, we will enjoy our view to the fullest, and enjoy the beauty of nature! Oooh the sound of the ocean.

The staff wasn’t friendly at all. It don’t look that bad on the outside so I thought. We first entered the the elevator should’ve been the first sign that this was an mistake to have book this. It was spring break weekend and everything was booked along the beach. So, we get on the elevator, get to the room and opened the instantsly you can smell this horrible smell. Like old and smoke mixed together. The rooms are out dated and not to clean. The kids (6, 12) sat on th couch and stated that it smelled horrible. The bedding was outdated as well. Then we needed to get out of the room and couldn’t because the door handle was missing. We then tried to call the front desk off their phone and there was no dial tone. Check all wires was hooked in phone just didn’t work. I had to search for the number off the internet to get the front desk he came and took him 10 mintuted to get us out the room. We then accidentally locked ourselves in the room again forgetting about the door and the kids stuck in the Hall way. My fiancé had to climb over the balcony to the hallway (which I didn’t approve of) to let me out the room. While am waiting for him to let me out I then saw roaches coming out of the refrigerator with cigarette burnt marks on top of it. Once we made it to the office to get our refund back I stated to him that it was also roaches in the room he stormed off and didn’t say anything else to us. Never apologized or anything. I give it a 1 because you have to give a rating.

Absolutely disgraceful! I stayed here with my mother and my 7 yr old daughter for Spring Break. We have never been to Myrtle Beach before. First night we arrived late. Upon entering the room it seemed some what clean. Did not smell clean. Went to take a shower only to find the shower head was missing. Too tired to call the front desk we headed to bed. Early the next morning I let the man at the front desk know about the shower head. It was not replaced until late in the afternoon. Then when my mother went to take a shower there was no hot water. Called the front desk he told me while snickering, to let the water run for awhile because it comes from the 4th floor. What a joke! You had to leave the water all the way on hot just to have warm water. The toilet didn't flush half the time… all the sinks dripped the entire time. The TV didn't work the first two days. Multiple times we went to come back from the beach and our room keys would not work. We would have to go down to the front desk to get back into our rooms. All of those things are maybe tolerable. The BIG thing for me is when I returned home my mother, my 7 yr old daughter, and myself had bed bug bites. I repeat BED BUGS. I'm still unsure if they were taken home with us. Ive cleaned everything and washed everything. I pray they are not in my home.! This place needs to have something done. They should not allow people to stay until all bugs are removed! This ruined vacations for me forever!

Reeked of cigarettes! I saw roaches. There were broken electronic ports. I was afraid to use air conditioner because it looked dangerous as it was not put together. Needed to wear socks and/or slippers because floor was never clean. I was weary of the cleanliness of the sheets. I did not sleep well because of all the above. However, the staff was nice!

This hotel has given me the worst hotel experince of my life. At check-in, I knew this was going to be a bad experience. I was checking in with the general manager who refused to answer the phone. The person on the other line gave up after 5 minutes. The manager then commented "I don't want to talk to them anyway". Upon entering the room, everything seemed normal. The room itself wasn't that bad. My only real complaint about the room was the bathroom and thin walls. The toilet wouldn't flush well and the shower wouldn't drain. While taking a shower, your legs would stew in the dirt accrued over time from the tub itself. Truly disgusting bathroom. The worst part of the stay however wasn't the thin walls allowing you no sleep due to noise or the cable TV being out. The worst part was being woken up by a screaming manager who pounded on the door and forced entry to the room. All while threatening to call the police. Unbeknownst to me there was a mix up at the front desk where I was staying in a different room than what the hotel had me marked down for in their system. So before checking, the new manager on shift thought I was homeless and was trying to evict me from the room I payed for. I got it all worked out but then I discovered after that manager had left, he canceled my room key and had taken my do not disturb sign. I had to go back down to the front desk just to get a new room key. Please do not stay at this location if you'd like a good vacation.

The view is amazing. The hotel is on the older side but the room is clean. Nice for a older hotel.

Inexpensive and beautiful, rooms could have been cleaner and service could have been better, but overall experience was good.

Love this place. Stay at least once every 2 months. Great people and nice rooms, only downfall is no microwave in rooms.

Ok so, 1st off the front desk lady Casey was great, she kindly helped with my check in as well as where to eat. The lobby was clean. The rooms were decent for the price. The rooms are cozy enough beds are comfy. Bathroom is kinda small and the sink is outside which I found a little weird but ok. The heat worked The TV didn't. One thing I must say is that the carpets are nasty and the sofa was broken. The indoor pool was nice and steamy. I will definitely stay here again.

The staff was friendly the room is need of much improvement. There was mold in the closet and floor beside the fridge. The heater face covers were broken and would not stay on. Phone in the room did not work had to use cell phone to call front desk. Did not realize the indoor pool was a separate building that you had to leave the hotel and cross the parking lot to get to. Definitely would not stay again expected way more from choice hotels brand.

The location is excellent, very central. A lot of things were shut down because of the time of year but still nice. The prices were excellent. The staff wasn't the friendliest and the room was fairly clean, just dated. I feel like I got what I paid for.

I booked this place so I can be near the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon that was happening. FYI, this place is considered the "hood. " You'll see plenty of homeless people and other types of people. It's nice that it's close to the beach but we felt unsafe here. Additionally, the whole place is pretty run down. Small roaches were crawling around and our smoke detector continuously went off. Breakfast was pretty basic. A homeless person was also enjoying the free breakfast when management had to call police to arrest them. We decided to leave after two nights. They gave us a refund which we are still waiting for and customer service was nice and polite for the most part. It was great that it is right next to the beach. Only issue, we have ran into was that our credit card number was stolen and had several unauthorized charges on the first day we were in Myrtle Beach. The only two places that had access to the card was Medieval Times' online ticket service and this hotel. If you're honest folks just looking for a vacation, I'd say just stay away and go north and pay a little more.

Went there on October 20th, 2017 first time ever at Myrtle Beach and this happen. I do NOT RECOMMEND this place. It’s a health hazard and nasty. I went to turn the lamp on and seen 2 bed bugs crawling lift the lamp up as well and seen two more. It’s nasty And not safe for anyone. This place needs to be shut down. I don’t see how this place is open, the bathroom smelled, the carpet was nasty, just everything about it was gross. I recommend you to stay at three palms it’s two hotels up it was way more cleaner and no bed bugs! Btw, only reason I’m giving it a one star because there’s no option for ZERO!

One of the most dirty and drug infested hotels I have stayed in. Found a random purse, looked for a ID and found Needles, spoons, and cotton. Then my 9 year old daughter found 2 blue pills on the ground by the elevator. Not safe at all! Looks nice from road, just a polished turd! 1 of 2 elevators are working and the one working is a very rough ride! Nasty!

As a frequent hotel goer I understand that there are going to be some problems with hotels but, when I walk into 2 different rooms and the roaches ask me what am I doing in their room, it's kinda bad. Not to mention the AC's not working and nobody wanting to fix them, nor was the bathroom clean or the carpet vacuumed (because there was trash in the floor) and the Receptionist tells me they can't switch our rooms, nor refund ANY of my money seriously boils my blood. Now on a good note, I loved the layout of the rooms, the breakfast was pretty good, and the girls that check us in were very courteous and helpful.

Nothing work! Hot tub not working, TV remote worked when it wanted to! Fan in bathroom didn't work! Ice machine didn't work! Breakfast could have used some protein but the view was awesome, staff was very nice. It wasn't the worst but it could use a bit of work on a couple things. Oh yea the phone didn't work at all and we told them to fix it — — Well yeah no one came to fix it!

To whom it may concern, I stayed at the Econo Lodge at 601 South Ocean Blvd. Myrtle Beach, SC 9/14-9/17. I want to make you aware of the experience that I had. When I first checked in, the lady who was at the front counter barely acknowledged me, no smile, no "how may I help you", nothing. I could tell I was interrupting whatever she was doing on her cell phone and her snack that was in plain site on the counter. She rushed through the check-in process, told me nothing about the property, breakfast times, etc. I arrived with my luggage to a broken elevator and the other elevator that smelled like a toilet. When I got up to my room, the first thing I did was turn on the A/C unit which produced no air. I could hear the compressor come on, but the blower wasn't working, so no A/C. I went back to the front counter and explained this to the clerk. Her response was "well, it DOES work, but… I can move you to another room" — so I'm assuming that this was an implication that I don't know how to work an air conditioner? Kind of a rude comment to make to someone who just checked in. I moved to another room and noticed that a short time after my arrival, I started getting very congested and had a lot of mucus in my throat. I thought it might just be allergies — even though I don't really have allergy issues. The second day, I was still extremely congested and the mucus issue was worse. I noticed that this issue was at its worst when I was in my room.

Well it Really could have had more selections of the shampoo and conditioners, no laundry bag to put dirty clothes in and only two towels but other than that everything was otherwise great. On the bright side there were NO BEDBUGS OR ROACHES. Which in Myrtle Beach I have encountered and experienced either one or the other ESPECIALLY on the ocean side of the beach. But not here. NOT a single one in this entire motel that I could see. Which in my opinion overrides the above complaints I made and this motel deserves on a scale of 1-10… definitely a 10… I will be returning && I will be telling my family and friends, as well as recommending you to anyone and everyone. THANKS FOR HAVING SUCH A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT! Sure does make all the difference when booking a motel.

Room was clean, building was clean, pool was clean. Breakfast was good. View was amazing. My room had a balcony which I didn't expect. Parking was close and easy. Overall extremely satisfied. Def recommend and stay again.

Not the best place, but for a decent room for family and kids, it worked out ok, was close to the beach and the room was mostly clean with a fridge and microwave so that was helpful. Not much water pressure if you want to wash your hair. Room was a little musty smelling but we had a balcony view and it had people cleaning up around the hotel so it was being maintained best they could. Would stay in again for the price. Close to attractions.

The econo lodge Inn & suites was an awesome place I and my husband loved it. We were there for our honeymoon and didn't want to leave so we stayed another day and night. The people that work there are fantastic. And so polite… even the girl who cleaned our room every day was AWESOME. I would recommend this in to everyone that would love to get good people in their lodge inn to go here. … we loved it so much that we have decided to go back there for our 1st anniversary and maybe every one after that. Ty and. Have a great day.

We've been here 2 days now and so far everything is going great! The room is very enjoyable and relaxing and we really love the ocean view from our 4th floor balcony. As far as housekeeping it's fine. Everyone tracks the floors with sand and there's no way of keeping it perfect. We'll be here til Friday and really looking forward to more wonderful vacation days here at Myrtle Beach.

The manager was completely rude from checkin me in to a problem I had with the room. He had no intention of good customer service what so ever.

Bring your own exterminator. Lots of bugs. Beds are as old as the building. Elevator smells like urine (if it even works) only plus is it has a big pool and it's ocean front.

First the rooms are nothing like what you see in the pictures. Second both room we had, had a bad oder to them. Third the door knob fell off the door. Yes it fell off. Forth to get in to the pool the our key wouldn't work, went to the desk and the girl told us the clime thru the window. No I am not kidding. There were three Windows out of the pool house. And if all that isn't bad enough for you, the final straw was when a cockroach crawled across the bed. And after all that the manager nor the girl at the desk even offered an apology for this. Never again for me! People stay clear.

I would NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE. This post may be long but I don't want to leave anything out. I booked an oceanfront room for a weekend. Aside from the hotel having a mildew type odor, the room was literally FULL of roaches. Dead and alive. I even took pictures and video to back that up. Needles to say, my friend and I slept in the car that night because we did not want to sleep in that disgusting room. The next morning we spoke with management and he processed our refund. My friends refund was placed back onto her card within a few days, while I've been waiting almost three weeks for my check. Last week I spoke to a man who claimed to be a manager and told me he had mailed my check that day. I called back today only to be told my check was sitting right on the desk and that the owner was on vacation and wouldn't mail my check until next week. I tried to leave my number so that management could call me when he returns, but no one would take my number, and even started to act as if me calling about this situation was bothering them! If anyone should be bothered it's me! At this point I feel like my situation is being ignored. You couldn't pay me to sleep here ever again. I've never had an experience like this. I've stayed in cheap, sketchy hotels and even they were better than this place. I don't care how bad you need a room, DON'T stay here.

So not happy. We spent almost 200 dollars to stay one night and this place is ratchet! The only good thing is it's right on the beach. Not happy at all. No cable something about time Warner cable is changing them digital. The phone don't work some other excuse for that. Then as the maintenance was standing in the room a roach was crawling on the ceiling! He said it was nothing that every room in mrytle beach has palmetto bugs aka roaches! My son has cancer I explained that if he gets sick because of those nasty bugs or these dirty air vents then they will be held accountable.

This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was filthy, smelled, and stains on both bed sheets. We went to pool area first as that was portrayed to be pretty great, well it is not. The pool was cloudy and clearly had not been cleaned nor did it have appropriate chlorine levels if any at all. Stay away from this hotel. Do not waste your time, money, or health.

The Hotel staff was very kind but we did have some problems. By the outdoor pool was cock roaches we spotted 2 of them but none in our room. We also have troubles closing the doors in the room it was like they got jammed as well there was some stains in the carpet. When we went to get in the hot tub it was broken. On the bright side it had an amazing view good breakfast and a nice pool we found the room fairly comfortable. It was an ok hotel.

The worst hotel experience ever my family and I didn't stay here for a whole 12 hours barely 6, there were roaches coming out at night and after my sister laid on the bed in the master suite a Roach fell on the pillow and crawled on the bed, two big trash bags were left in front of the room door and after we asked for the bags to be moved they pushed the bags on each side of the door along with adding luggage carts, and we were in the "penthouse" which looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 80s… After telling the office we were leaving the worker charged my dad anyway, the next day we came there and I informed the lady at the front desk that there were roaches, her response, … Oh they did spray, hmmm… Ok. Then I showed her pictures and it clearly didn't matter that their hotel is filthy, the workers are not very helpful and try to get over on you and your money, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Pros: view, location, indoor and outdoor pool, multi level, and price I guess. Cons: beds need to be replaced badly (they are practically flat), gross elevator, cigarette ashes all over balcony (chairs and table too! ), skimpy breakfast all carbs, dirty floors, and carpet needs shampooing. I wasn't impressed at all, I know this location makes a lot of money because of location. But it clearly doesn't go into this hotel.

I read the reviews and was not sure what to expect, but I was really impressed with my experience here. I asked to see the room first and the front desk agent let me do so. I inspected everything and the room was very clean. I don't care about the hallways, the room is the most important to me and it was very clean, smelled good, and had a beautiful view of the beach! I couldn't have been happier with my experience and for the price, I can't even see how anyone could complain. I wish we could have checked in sooner because I would have loved to swim in the pool or use the hot tub. But we got there late and left out early to explore the day. I loved the continental breakfast. It gave us the energy we needed to play on the beach and walk the boardwalk for several hours. It was great that the beach entrance was right there behind the hotel and this location is really great. It was also nice that we were able to stay parked there.

Dirty Roach infested room with a foul smell toilet didn't work, had no pillows or towels was told to go get them from another room. Will never stay again! They were nice enough to give us refund and we left after only an hour checked in (only 15 mins in the actual room). They need serious renovations and an exterminator.

Horrible night. The elevator had caked on dust on the ceiling vent, no one wanted to stand under it. The hallway had a leak and the carpet was flooded. The room fridge had bugs in it; the bathroom door barely Cleared the toilet to close. Neighbors got into a brawl and we had to call the front desk to call the police. This place wouldn't even get 1/2 a star from me. Crap. No, the beds were not even comfortable. The only good thing was the view of the Ocean.

Positives: Location and bed was comfy. Negatives: -man running front desk ignored us for 15 min. — room obviously used to be a smoke room and they just changed the rules because everything is covered in a dark yellow dust. — microwave was missing it's clear plate. — hair dryer was broken — they supply shampoo no conditioner. — tvs are fuzzy and old. — They had a freaking window in the bedroom showing the hallway of the hotel! Like what's the purpose of that?! — Breakfast is nowhere near continental, I don't care if you add waffles that's not continental. — They only had one ice machine, and it was broken. — Freezer was broken. — The remotes to the TV are old to the point, you have to press with all your might to change the channel. — The furniture is 1950s — A light was burnt out on day 1 — Left the balcony door open while we were gone after they finishing cleaning up. — Elevator vent is coated with heavy dust. — The upkeep of the rooms are horrible since all they keep up to date is the outside with layers of white paint, so customers still come. — The frame to bathroom mirror fell off at some point before our stay and has left glue from where it stood on there, and they haven't bothered to fix it. — bathroom is so small, you have to move your body out of the way of the door before you can even sit on the toilet. — Shower is short that 5'1" wife was able to touch ceiling, and me 5'8" head almost touches the ceiling.

We absolutely loved it! Last yr was our frist time with kids in ten yrs and we made reservations with another hotel we were so excited but after 4 hr drive got there… I was furious! I would not have let my dog stay there. I can't remember the name of the place but I made them give my money bk and by 4 am we came across econo lodge! We have already had 2 vacations an one coming up next weekend! We love this place! Price an all is what we are looking for to have nice get away! I would not stay no where else the staff and manager. "James" we love them all! Thank you for making our vacations pleasantfull and relaxing!

Hotel was clean. Room had a great view of the ocean. Expedia messed up our reservations but a HUGE thank you to Mr. James Reid GM for helping us out! The hotel was just what we were looking for a clean, nice place on the ocean for a short weekend getaway. Staff was very helpful and great view.

Room was clean, flow had a few stains. Out door pool was nice clean. Indoor pool had alot of sand in it, kiddie pool was very dirty & the "spa" was the same temp as the indoor pool and it was dirty. The best thing about this hotel is it being right in the beach & walking distance from everything.
