Wednesday April 25th my friend booked a 2 bedroom apartment at the Country Inn & Suites located off of Garners Ferry Road in Columbia Sc, after receiving the confirmation e-mail with a different price she changed her mind and called back to cancel, she spoke with front desk and they agreed to cancel it. After canceling she located another hotel and booked with them. Fast forward Friday April 27th comes and she goes to check in at the other hotel her card declines, she goes in…to her online banking and see’s she was charged over $650.00 for the Country Inn & Suites. So she calls them to let them know that something is wrong, she canceled the reservations for Friday April 27th and she needs her money back ASAP. The front desk puts her on hold to talk to his general manager for over 40 minutes so she drove there to speak with him face to face. After arguing with front desk for 4 hours the problem was never resolved and she was never refunded her money, she basically was like I’m not paying for a room I’m not staying in. Front desk was like only thing I can do is refund you for one night $263 but since it’s after 4:00 you would have to pay for the first night, again my friend told him I’m not paying for a room I’m not staying in. By them charging her card it put her bank in overdraft which meant she would be charged $20 dollars a day up until that second night was refunded and being that it was the weekend that would take 5-10 business days. Now mind you this room was a surprise for her mother in laws birthday. So after hours of never getting the issue resolved and never getting to talk to the manager, she kept the first night since she was out of a room and money. Towards the end of the day she was able to contact corporate which had wonderful customer service, they were able to pull all of the phone calls and she was able to send them her Verizon records showing she called them. The person at corporate reviewed all of the documents and contacted the hotel requesting the manager call him within a hour, and of course he wasn’t there and he never called. After going into the room there were no supplies the kitchen was dirty and roaches was all in the cabinets, nothing was done and the front desk was nasty because they had already had a disagreement earlier about her money. The next day Saturday she waited to talk to the manger he still was no where to be found, she was than told he’ll call her early Monday morning. Now it’s Monday she still haven’t received a phone call after calling them twice, Corporate can’t get in touch with him and he had and employee call her that was very rude. * I wish I could post pictures of the bugs in the kitchen * I never post about a business but this is crazy.
