The tale of an anniversary bait and switch with a side of disappointment and terrible customer service… it was going to be great. Planning and saving for months for our anniversary. We reserved the King Jacuzzi Suite and planned to have dinner across the street at Kyllos (awesome). The fact that they are pet-friendly was key in our choosing. We were looking forward to it for months anticipating the great time in a room with a view… And a Jacuzzi. all that changed upon arrival. We checked in with no problems. The young man at the desk was polite and friendly. Making our way to our room, we stepped in and immediately realized that something was wrong, no, EVERYTHING WAS WRONG. First, we realized that there WAS NO JACUZZI, then noted there was NO VIEW (unless the parking lot counts), also it was a FULL BED… Somehow our Single King Jacuzzi Suite had morphed into a Single Full Standard Room! We went to the desk and spoke with the young man who'd checked us in. He was very apologetic while informing us that the room we'd reserved was occupied. By this time my wife was in tears so we took some time to deliberate the drastically reduced rate that was offered as well as the offer of the Jacuzzi Suite at no charge in the future. After spending several minutes in discussion, we went back in and accepted the offer of $30 for the room for the night and a voucher for the Single King Jacuzzi Suite at NO CHARGE with NO BLACKOUT TIMES in the future. We attempted to continue and have a good 1yr anniversary by going to dinner at Kyllos, which is thus far the highlight of the trip. The next morning, we woke after only being able to sleep for 5 hours due to the terrible condition of the mattress (a minor detail along with there being no plug for the bathtub and the toilet bubbling up suds at 1am). We went and had a decent breakfast. When going to check out and retrieve our voucher for the complimentary stay in the King Jacuzzi Suite, my wife was handed a "gift certificate" in the amount of "$79.99 no weekends or holidays". I went back to the counter with the gift certificate, and informed Shelly that "this is not what we were promised, nor what we agreed to". She told me that the $30 room was going for $169 the prior night and that I should be happy with that (I am paraphrasing). I told her that is NOT what I was promised and that I should be given what I was told I would receive. She then told me that the young man who'd made the agreement was misinformed and that she would not be giving us what was agreed upon… I was becoming rather upset at thing point so I simply took my gift certificate, stated "then you are lairs", and walked out of the lobby. We later called Choice Hotels (the franchise) and filed a formal complaint. In doing so, we discovered that our reservation for the King Jacuzzi Suite was properly entered on the 17th, however, IT WAS SWITCHED to the room we ended up with on the 19th! Why on earth it was switched is still a mystery, but we are now awaiting our response from either Choice Hotels or the General Manage or Owner of the property. It's just sad that such a great place had to be ruined by terrible guest service. Making a guest feel like they are nothing but a $$$ is NOT the mark of a hotelier, but the mark of someone who hates thier job.

Nightly rates from $109
