As a former housekeeper at Red Lion, I wouldn’t recommend staying at Red Lion since the head housekeeper, Charity Anderson, doesn’t do her job. After a housekeeper is done cleaning a room, the head housekeeper never follows behind the housekeeper and inspects all of their rooms. Most of the time the housekeepers are struggling to get sheets anyways and the head housekeeper never does the laundry to help the housekeepers out. She is either decorating or sitting in her office. If you want to stay at Red Lion, by my guest but fair warning, the rooms may look bad. At Global Inn, the owners inspect the rooms after the housekeepers are done. Don’t expect a continental breakfast or a pool because they are closed and has been since March 2020.

Smells like cigarettes. Needs a renovation. Bit of a dump.

Very pet friendly and reasonable rates. Asked for ground floor in reservation and at checkin we got end room and place for my pets. KUDOS Red Lion Hotel!

As with pretty much all lodging in Coos Bay/N. Bend, this is a motel — not a hotel. If you don't know the difference, then this place will suit you just fine :)

Our experience at the Red Lion Coos Bay was very pleasant. The beds were comfortable, but could have used more blankets. The room was clean including the bathroom. It was nice to have two sinks. The check in process was easy and Holly's customer service was exceptional. This hotel is pet friendly and the pet fee was a reasonable $15. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and worth the value. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here on road trip between Vancouver, BC to SF with my corgi. The staff are nice. Bed is comfortable and ample parking. Made it hard to get up for a long day of driving ahead!

Still relevant. I haven't seen a lot of activity there for several years and feared the worst. Rooms are nice and clean, beds comfortable, and all staff members were helpful and cheery (maybe a slight exception at the front desk). Restaurant is open and serving a good plate of food. Wait team is excellent. It's good to be wrong sometimes!

The front desk clerk was very nice. The lobby was huge and spotless. The room was way bigger than any other we have ever stayed in. It was clean and comfortable and quiet. Some of the lights didn't work and the fan barely worked.

Our room was very dirty. The floor was really stained and the room just smelled old and musty. The shower was not clean nor was the shower curtain. They need to do some updates.

Decent hotel considering the location. There is a convenient marijuana dispensary next door. It is also right up the road from restaurants and bars in Coos Bay. Although the hotel is old and smells a bit, it's very clean and spacious.

Nice rooms, quiet, located near some shops. Outdoor pool and hotub were nice.

This is at best a poor 2 star motel. It is very old, dingy, outdated and dirty. I didn't want to touch anything. The room smelled dirty and stuffy. The bathtub tile was disgusting. Dirty discolored (green, brown and black) grout. So gross I couldn't take a shower. Old room layout with exterior doors. A motel, not a hotel. Very disappointing. Way too high priced. Red Lion used to be a high class brand. This place is dumpy.

I love staying at Red Lions. The quality is so good for the price. Very clean, rooms were bigger than I normally expect, bathrooms were nice, and I also appreciate that the toiletries use natural and organic ingredients. Consistently great.

We rent conference rooms every month for business and always extremely happy with the staff, facility, prices. Sometimes we use rooms as well which are also equally as fantastic.

Although the rating said "three star" and the property is called a "hotel" — we found the accommodations to be strictly "motel" level — we were told is we signed-up for the room, on a third-party hotel website, that the breakfast was complimentary, however upon check-out the front desk person attempted to charge us $10.95 twice really a basic level motel breakfast — this is not a hotel, this is a walk-up motel — make your own judgments accordingly.

Room was good until we found out we didn’t have air so they brought a fan the I untucked the top sheet and found to many hairs, not mine, on the bottom sheet, gross! Would not go back. Breakfast was ok as the ac in dining area cooled it down before we could eat even part of it. Wow ac in there but not in room.

Clean, nice rooms. Bed is very comfortable. Located by bay and is close to downtown.

Decided to go out for a date night had heard the Red Lion had prime rib decided to try it. It was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend had the fish and chips which was also amazing. Service was great. I would highly recommend this place for dinner we will be going back!

I don't know, I just think for what you pay, they don't deliver. A good example, my computer chair in one room was all torn up. In another, it would not say up (the hydraulics were shot) I asked for a new one because no one like their knees above their waist. When I return they had replaced the computer chair with a very basic wooden chair I can only guess came from a dinner or something. It was ridiculous for someone to pay over $100 and get service like this.

The people were nice enough. The hotel is dated but not necessarily in a negative way. The interior finishes seem as though they are A little neglected as the smoke alarm was hanging off the ceiling. It doesn’t appear that the cleaning staff are detailed as there are old water spots on the ceiling of the bathroom. The rooms unfortunately have a moldy water-damaged smell to them. The first room they gave me smelled and I asked for another. They gave me a new room albeit they charged an upgrade price. The new room smelled just as bad. Going to grin and bear it through the night, I would not stay here again. The only reason I wouldn’t stay here again is the smell. I first tried room 266 and ended up in 278.

Okay… nothing to write home about. The TV channel lineup is great and the beds are comfortable. They sell beer (and other beverages and snacks) in the lobby. Other than that, average rooms.

Admittedly, this is probably one of the cleaner hotels in Coos Bay so why 3 stars? I was surprised at how expensive they are. The fee for having a pet pushed it over the top. For me, this facility wasn't worth the money when compared to nearby hotels.

Large hotel needing updating. Dog friendly with fee. Large room with bed but no chairs or table. Bed was comfortable. Buffet breakfast for a fee which was poorly prepared. Many items were cold. Large parking lot with nearby gas station. Subway Sandwich shop across the street.

Decent place to stay, clean and well kept rooms, worked at Red Lion Hotel for many years in Coos Bay, Or. Used to have the best food in their restaurant — not now =the worst and I'm not exaggerating. And they are only open when it's convenient for them. Rooms Restaurant.

I have been staying here for over 40 years to spend time with my family in town. We love the "family" suites with two rooms (one queen with two queens or a king) and they are great. Look for the breakfast package if you want convienience. Pretty good breakfast buffett (not great). Rooms are clean and it's quiet here even if close to the 101. Great place for our family. Major bonus that it's pet friendly!

As a two-star motel, I rate this a 3/5: it was cleaner and more well maintained than I'd expect. But don't mistake this for a three-star hotel, because it's not. Appliances and rooms were functional, but not well maintained. The bed was ok, but the pillows were lumpy. The mid-stay cleaning service was a joke; it looked like they made the bed and did a quick wipe down, but don't vacuum or change sheets. I had a towel in my room from a previous guest. There were no pests. Overall, be aware that this place is listed as a three-star hotel, when it's not. I define a hotel as an enclosed building with rooms you can only enter from inside; this is a two-star motel style, with rooms facing outside, thin walls, and outdated construction, probably from the 80s. If that's acceptable, then you'll find this to be on the better end of that tier.

Don't be fooled by the name — this is an old motel not a nice hotel that we were expecting. Had to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs to the outside room. Room is big but needs to have the cheap furniture replaced along with new carpet, tiles, and paint or wallpaper. The bed is uncomfortable and the bathroom is old with stains and cracked tiles. The pic on the website shows the administration building that looks like a nice hotel not the rows of outside rooms that are typical of motels. Not happy with the accommodations.

The staff were great. I needed a room with 2 beds and acessable for y disabled husband. They had a room that worked well for us. The room was clean, not fancy, but very comfortable.

Good was horrible. Could hear the chef cussing in the back kitchen and my burger and fries that I ordered weren't cooked. The burger was bright pink. Did not eat the food.

Our room was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in, and my husband who travels frequently said so as well. Awesome accomodations, comfortable beds, firm pillows, and a clean and tidy locale all made this very nice for our short stay. The front desk was also very helpful, and helped me change out room when we had a last-minute addition. They didn't even charge a late fee when we arrived well after midnight, simply said that they were glad we made it in safely. Would definitely go again, and recommend to others.

3 stars means average to me. My group requested an early check in a couple of hours early and the staff was able to accommodate us. The rooms were clean but not updated. Plenty of parking, a hot tub and pool… one of my group went to the $10.95 breakfast buffet but turned away. He thought it looked unappetizing. There is a better choice down the road for about the same price.

The best thing about this hotel was the people we met, the housekeepers, maintenance the night lady at the desk. They loved our Bulldogs and had places to walk them. But the train comes very close it vibrates the whole room. Woke up to it wasn't happy. No coffee in the lobby and they want $2 for a cup of fake cappuccino. Hotels should have lots of Free Hot Real coffee.

The rooms are nice with comfortable beds. The TV is small and doesn't allow you to plug in any devices. The coffee pouches that were provided didn't fit properly in the coffee maker. The pool is a good size and is heated.

Pretty much the best sleep of my life on the king sized bed. Came with about 8 pillows, which I really appreciated, and the pillows were heavenly. The curtain rod was curved, so the shower felt huge, and the water pressure was nice and strong, loved that. My hair felt amazing after using the provided shampoo and conditioner, which is unheard of at a hotel, and the lotion was just as good as the stuff I use at home. No funny smells in the room, no loud noises from neighbors or the AC/heating unit. No issues with check in and the staff was understanding when I needed an extra 20 minutes to get out the door. I would stay here again. Hell, I would live here.

Renting a venue for my daughter's wedding was super easy and very professional. Excellent discounts on additional services when adding them to the standard packages.

Best hotel besides the the Mill Casino. The doors dont automatically shut in the room and the fan in the bathroom is super loud. Also, the check in process takes quite awhile and they no longer give free breakfast to government employees/military. The beds are pretty comfy and there is a pool. If the owners spent some extra money on upgrades, I am sure the hotel would pull in more guests.

Where to begin… I reserved a room here at the casino for the light show, Dec 2nd as well as my parents, which I think is a must see! We spent over $400 total for 2 rooms So anyway. We got a Tower with a king bed that overlooked I'm guessing was a roof of some sort, not very interesting to say the least. With this package it included $40 in dining credit, ($80 total because my parents did the same) plus free shuttle to the lights. Great right? We thought so too, but the catch was you had to use your $40 in dining credit by 2am the day you were leaving, even though they charge you until noon which is check out. (Not stated on the package) We were hoping to use it for breakfast before we took off for the days hike. On a good note, the hotel was beautiful, the staff very friendly, and very clean throughout the entire establishment. The bed that my husband and I had felt like we were sleeping on wood, it was so hard.

Attended my workplace' Christmas party. The meeting/banquet hall was very nice and easily handled the large party. Staff was very nice and professional. Food was pretty good too.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and our experience wasn't great. First off, we booked 2 weeks in advance and once we confirmed our reservations a few days prior we were told that we had accidentally only been booked for one night and we would have to switch rooms for the 2nd night. We stayed for 3 nights and every day had to switch rooms with 1 child and 1 baby. What a pain! We paid close to $500 for 3 nights and would expect better service. And, if that wasn't bad enough, we were actually accused of having a dog in the rooms. We drove all the way from out of state in a small sedan with 2 kids in a car seat, how could we have a dog? I will admit that my 1 year old is a little messy and did drop some crackers on the floor, but I can assure you she isn't shedding dog hair. We don't even own a pet due to the fact I'm allergic to all fur bearing animals and my husband also has horrific allergies to pets. I'm beyond dismayed. I would expect better service out of a hotel. We have stayed at many hotels in our travels and never run into anything like this. Also, the beds are very uncomfortable. I woke up both mornings with a sore back. I will say that the Thanksgiving buffet was delicious and they had a great selection of food. Also, the pool is nice and my kids had fun swimming. The other problem is that there is never parking so unless you use valet, good luck finding a spot. Perhaps the hotel should think about building a parking garage.

Room was mostly clean. A little outdated. The tub had some mold to be expected by the coast. The granite sinks were nice. And there was an outside bath sink. We had a big room and breakfast is included which was eggs potatoes and cereal options. All service was friendly.

Friendly staff. Nice large room, cozy. Clean, but the freezer in the mini fridge is faulty. Pet friendly with a $10 pet charge. HBO and other good channels, the last place I stayed only had infomercial channel so that's a welcome change for late nite channel surfing.

Superb place to stay, great variety of foods, from sea to steak, or baked goods. This place has something for everyone. Wife and I enjoyed our stay. Staff always smiling and very friendly. The place is very clean and maintained. Room was spotless. We also visit the back deck of the casino almost every year to see the 4th of July Fireworks.

Beware, they allow pets in all of their rooms. I do not recommend it here unless you have pets and don't mind sleeping with spiders. Dog hair is everywhere including on the bed sheets because this is where pets sleep; and if you're allergic to pet dander, then you will suffer. Also, they don't offer complimentary breakfast. In fact, they charge $10 per person. Needless to say, we never ate there which was no big deal. Our room door (room 131 I believe it was, next to the steps) has about a 1" gap at the bottom where you can see outside. This means spiders. I killed two huge ones the first two nights so I didn't sleep well the rest of our stay. We were there for 10 nights total. The pool is nice and is slightly heated. Kids loved it but me not so much. Since it never really gets warm here, the water still feels cool. I stayed in the hot tub but had to jump in the pool so my little ones could swim. I didn't stay in long because I froze. The front staff was very nice although they accidentally told another family the wrong room number so people were trying to open our door. Thankfully the key wasn't programmed for our room. Honest mistake and not a big deal really. And the room has a strange smell especially in the bathroom. Our shower current appeared to have blood stains on the inside and was old and water stained at the bottom. This place could use a remodel but that probably isn't necessary so long as you allow pets. They have one washer and dryer for everyone to use.

We love this RV park… staff are the best, RV spaces are roomy and the laundry room and shower areas are clean and well kept. It is right on the waterway so you can watch all the work and activity going on, not to mention the birdwatching. We travel with our 5 dogs (no easy feat) and put up a temporary fence so that they can spend time with us outside, our space (#27) was perfect. They have a walking trail that is on the outer edges of the entire park and also has a fenced in dog area. You are also a short walk from the casino and if you do not want to walk they have a shuttle that is available at all times to give you a ride. We will stay again!

The event planners are incompetent. The rooms are nice for the most part. Most of the time helpful front desk. Beds are kinda hard. Great view for 4th of July fireworks.

Came for a friend's wedding. Service was good, the hotel provided everything we needed to make sure everyone was comfortable, including room discounts for guests staying for the wedding.

Terrible! Shower took all my might to even get it to turn on, no hot or cold markers, but it didn't matter anyway cuz the shower was ice cold! The TV was crap and couldn't see fr over half the room and the he remote barely worked. Overall, over priced, small, out dated, the bed was comfortable and clean but that was the only good mark. Very little noise reduction from the highway or other guests, including noisy maids very early. All around terrible experience!

A little disappointed with this hotel. Upon check-in I found that the "signature breakfast" was an extra $10 a person, the floors were stained in my room and my iron and microwave were both broken. The customer service was great and they replaced both broken items promptly which is why they are getting 3 stars instead of 2. I more than likely won't return to this hotel as there are better quality ones in town for the same price.

Met my 3 requirements. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Heated pool which is a big plus. Got to take the kiddo swimming and they had a hot tub for the adults.

Terrific hotel. Great rooms. Comfy beds. Helpful staff. Great service overall. And the rooms were inexpensive!

I am traveling up the coast by bicycle and have been planning on spending my birthday here in coos bay. Was looking forward to staying at the red lion but when I entered the front door the ugly red headed woman looked at me as if I was lost and questioned what I might need, as if she wasnt working at a hotel. She then seemed very happy to tell me they do not accept cash and I would need to go elsewhere. I have a hard time understand how any business can legally not accept cash. On a dollar bill you will see that it says "this note is legal tender for all debts public and private" meaning it would be illegal for a business to deny services to a person with required amount of legal notes. Either way the ugly woman at the front left me with a horrible taste in my mouth and will stay clear of all red lion hotels in the future.

Everything you could ask for at this price point. Clean comfortable spacious rooms. Great buffet style breakfast.

They charged us 22 dollars for two bagels and two coffees. Scam artists. Beware the low rates. They get your money one way or another.

Comfortable bed. Shower had NO POWER. Very minimal pressure. Rinsing? Well, that took too long. BUT room was comfortable. Forgot to tell front desk, safety latch, needed screwed back in. LOL… whats the point, if it's useless… Ha? But I'd return for another stay.

Room was clean, soacious and comfortable. Bed was plush and gave a great nights sleep. I'd echo a review I saw prior to booking, they give you like 10 pillows… its awesome.

The room was very nice, clean and large. We stayed in a double queen room and the beds were very comfortable! It is located on the main road and within about a mile of a casino. I will stay there on my next trip to Coos Bay!

I to stayed in this hotel followed. The rooms are clean and those who work there are always willing to answer any questions you may have. It is my preferred hotel in the area of North Bend.

Clean room and nice shower water pressure. Breakfast was included in room price. The room was very spacious.

Aside from a minor flub at check-in (which they immediately fixed), the rooms are very nice. We like staying at the Red Lion because it's right in the middle of town and they're very knowledgeable about places to go and things to do. Very reasonable for the price.

Decent spacious room. Our suite was big, with two comfortable beds in separate rooms. No kitchenette though. Musty smell in room.

Both the room and bathroom were very spacious. The bed was comfortable, and they give you literally 10 pillows. Not sure why so many pillows but that's okay. The front desk person spoke extremely fast, but otherwise generally friendly. Wasn't sure where to eat or if there was breakfast or anything… The location of the hotel is less than ideal. Sort of a strange passer by town.

If you have pet allergies. Don't stay in room 129. As a very frequent traveler, hotels usually will ask or if you are pet-less, put you in a pet-less room. Red lion, not so much in coos bay.

Red Lion Delieverd for me. I like my room, easy parking, ground floor was nice too! Parked right outside my room. Now that is something I am not used to a red Lion as there is usually the big lobby and elevators. This I believe was comverted from someting else to a red lion. Any way, they did a fine job, I slept well and the internet worked fine and I would definitely stay here again when I am in Coos Bay.

Probably your best bet in Coos Bay. I've not stayed in other places but, driving past, I'm glad I stopped here. Stayed here 3 times. Best rooms are those attached/behind the lobby area. I've stayed opposite near the pool (? ) twice and the rooms are just "Meh! " (musty smell; worse Wifi). Decent TV selection. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Feel the need to keep my feet shoed while on the carpet. Recommend the (Japanese) Choshi Gardens if you enjoy a pleasant stroll. And, would eat breakfast-lunch-dinner at the Seafood Enterprises place under the boardwalk if I could. Very nice people and lovely seafood.

Red Lion Hotel Coos Bay is an expensive, dirty horrible place to stay.

Front desk is extremely helpful, large rooms and great restaurant.

Nice folks and they take pets. We were happy they had room. Be aware that the pet room we were in wasn't the best but the bed is good and the breakfast is great.

Our room was infested with ants and the response from the front desk was "it is common for this area at this time. " Our stay was for 3 nights and finally on the third night my boyfriend went straight to the front desk and yelled. We got another room at 9:30pm! When I was checking out I was told the General Manager would call me the next morning, by noon the next day I was the one calling him and got brushed off! We are out a lot of money and we are covered in ant bites! We had to replace our toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, and contact solution. We had to keep the new ones in the car so they would not be contaminated! It was so disgusting there were ants all in the beds and on the walls, they were just everywhere! SHAME ON YOU for not taking care of this Red Lion.

Was recommended by Bay Area Hospital to stay here while my father was recovering in ICU. Great location. Only minutes from the hospital and downtown Coos Bay. Though the exterior doesn't look all fancy like your typical Red Lion Hotels. The room was very spacious. They smelled very fresh and was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The location was very peaceful and serene. They have a breakfast buffet, which is included with your stay. Their breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, red skinned potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, basically. Your typical breakfast, but not quite as fancy as Denny's. They have a heated pool (75 degrees F) and Jacuzzi, which was also very clean. Everyone there is very friendly and professional. Customer Service was ALWAYS completed to our satisfaction with a smile. We will definitely stay here again when we revisit.
