We used the Aloft for our Juneteenth wedding. EVERYTHING r/t the hotel far exceeded our expectations. Chelsea Grimm (Director of Sales) is a living, breathing angel. Her dedication to customer service is second to none. She was always available during the planning process. She made the space available anytime we randomly stoped by the without notice. She allowed us to bring in a DJ and totally take over the bar area. Chelsea magically showed up with trays of champagne (throughout the entire weekend) at the EXACT moment we needed it most. She ran to our room to get the Maid of Honor’s forgotten flowers just as the ceremony was beginning. Shortly before my guests arrived, Chelsea walked into the ceremony space and noticed that the tables had not been set. She took it upon herself to get it done. Chelsea was more helpful than my wedding planner. There are so many more things that Chelsea did to make our wedding special. Far too many to name. We are forever grateful for all you did. The entire staff was PHENOMENAL. Everyone was professional, welcoming, friendly and overly accommodating. The rooms were perfect. The event space was the perfect location for our wedding and reception. thankyou! thankyou! thankyou!

Wonderful service and staff are so nice. Great clean facility also.

Very rasict towards a young black mom and her son charger her for smoking in the room because someone told them they think they smell smoking felt bad for her especially because her child is sick.

Very nice place and atmosphere… Except the bartender is a bit too much.

The beautiful, new, elegant, Aloft Hotel in Downtown Durham is a masterpiece of design and the hospitality service industry. Located next to Reynolds American shopping and the new Durham Bulls Stadium the location really is the finest in the city. I can't say enough good things about the staff of the property, the staff of any hotel is the element that makes the difference between a good property and a great property.

Neat place, cool decorations. Front desk employees were nice and helpful. Good pour of bourbon bat the bar. Room smelled a bit like a hospital though. Not overwhelming, just unexpected. Would stay there again. Overnight parking in the garage is $10.

Modern hotel downtown within walking distance to many restaurants, the performing arts center, and Bulls stadium. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and spacious showers (no tub). Ample plugs and USB outlets in room. Small but enjoyable pool on the western side of the building on the second floor. Would stay again.

This Aloft Hotel is in downtown Durham right next to the Baseball stadium that houses the Durham Bull's. Just like the Kevin Costner movie. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. There's a parking lot next door, which is complimentary for hotel guests only. Right next to Tobacco Road which has several nice restaurants. Nice rooms. There's a bar/lounge. More on the expensive side so bring your credit card. No complimentary Breakfast. A place more for the younger crowd.

Nicely situated in downtown Durham which really seems to be growing into a nice city. Everything inside feels very new. The hotel has a young vibe with a bar connected with the lobby and the rooms also have a hipster vibe. The rooms have all the basic amentities (safe, fridge, etc). There's a train that's pretty close by which you can occasionally hear, but it didn't bother me too much. Enjoyed my stay. Located right next to the minor league stadium.

We're SPG Platinum and unfortunately, weren't recognized for it on check in. We got our welcome gift, but it seemed like they were not interested in acknowledging it. We got placed on the lowest floor near the elevators and pool. Hoping it's because the hotel was completely full. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend it. Most of the staff were pleasant and easy going. We did have the maid stop and knock every hour starting at 10am on checkout day despite our late checkout. We were working and that was a little annoying. The pool and fitness center were very clean, which was great.

The room is very nice, spacious and clean. There were more channels of video than I could go through and the internet access speeds were good. I could stay here on business without issues. The lounge area is relaxing and our larger group enjoyed being able to hangout there. A couple things could have been improved. The light switch for the bathroom area is confusing. I liked having a master switch for the space, but having to walk to the main door for the vanity lights was akward. The barn door to the toilet and shower seems to be all the rage, but not everyone likes it.

Super clean. Easy parking. Great location next to the ballpark. Will return next time we go to a Bull's game.

Nice hotel with great location Roger across the street from the Durham Park and tobacco campus. Is is also next door to the DPAC. Love the location, so close to many different spots.

Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is pretty new, has a very modernist style, and the location is good. The room was clean and didn't smell, but the halls are cramped, dark, and look dirty or lazily built. The lobby is a nice space, though the music was WAY too loud when I was checking in. It felt more like a nightclub. There is a "snack bar", but I wish that breakfast were included. The parking is $10 per night but it's right next to the hotel, so the walking is not bad, and you can unload outside the lobby door before parking. My bed was quite firm, which I don't find comfortable but it depends on your taste. The AC unit rattled loudly, but it did get the room super cold. The employees I have encountered were pleasant and happy to help. Overall, pretty good, but there is room for growth.

Was here for a conference, and it was a great experience. The rooms were modern, comfortable, roomy. The location is near some great restaurants. The workout facilities are small, but the equipment is excellent and the view from the ellipticals and treadmills is wonderful.

I just stopped in to look around while waiting for a nearby restaurant to open. Front desk staff personable. The place was clean and the decorations edgy.

Was in town for business. Hotel is clean and in a good location. Plenty of good eats (and drink) in immediate area. Staff very polite and helpful. Would come back again.

My second stay at this location. 1st room had a foul odor like it was corn chips or some one had stinky feet. Had to change rooms, however the rooms were nice not in my standards 155 dollars worthy per night. But at the price you pay, at least breakfast should be free which it is not. Plus they charge you a 10 dollar parking fee. I think this will be my last night here, just not aluring to me. But to each its own. I would say shop around before staying here.

What a hip, swanky hotel! I've never stayed in a place like this before and totally loved it. Swam in the pool every day I was there, enjoyed martinis in the bar at the end of the day, loved the spacious walk-in shower and the soap smelled absolutely fantastic (I even took it home with me). Loved my room with a great view, and the location is great — right across the street from the American Tobacco Campus, which is the coolest retrofit of an old factory I have ever seen.
I do think the snack bar is way overpriced though.

So me and my fiance stayed here this weekend and the service was great. The bar has great drinks and the room had a nice bed, bathroom everything worked well. We really enjoyed our stay! We will be coming back soon!

The Aloft Durham Downtown is a very nice hotel, the room was modern and spacious. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, and quiet. Parking was a little annoying as the hotel did not connect to the parking garage but it was such a short walk it wasn't that bad.

I have to honestly say that I almost never write a bad review for a hotel because I have always stayed at great and beautiful hotels. This Aloft hotel on the other hand is one of those places you regret the moment you get to your room and ask yourself, why did I choose this hotel. The staff are not very professional and some just out right rude and always to busy to answer any question you may have. The hotel is also not very clean and during my stay seemed very chaotic and very disorganized. I can honestly say that I have stayed at other Aloft hotels and the experience was a positive one. Sadly this hotel is not one of them and I would never stay here again.

Great friendly staff. We accidentally booked for the wrong day and the staff members were able to accommodate the change. While sitting in the lobby I watched them interact with all the customers. They were going above and beyond to make everyone feel welcomed.

We stayed here as part of a wedding, and had a great experience. When booking, the person who helped me was incredibly pleasant, and helped me get the best rate possible. We were driving down from NJ, so I requested an early check-in (knowing it was not guaranteed) but lo and behold when we arrived at 10:30 a. M. Our room was ready! It was so nice to be able to unwind after a 7 hour drive. The check-in process was quick, amenities sufficient and in good shape, and the design of the hotel and rooms themselves is pretty cool! The location was awesome — we were able to walk to pretty much anything we needed in the downtown area, and were across the street from the wedding venue itself. Regarding food quality, we had hot breakfast there one morning (made to order) and the cooks were as nice as could be and we enjoyed good conversation with them (not to mention the food was delicious and service fast). The coffee was also great! When it was time to go, check-out was also a breeze. All-in-all a great experience for us, 10/10!

Great location if you want to be near downtown Durham. On par for what to expect from aloft as far as rooms go. Very courteous staff.

Modern decor and furnishings. Comfortable bed. Centrally located in downtown Durham convenient to Duke, the Durham Bulls ballpark, and lots of great restaurants. Valet service not an option and you have to park towards the top of a big multi-level garage.

Stayed here for a few days. Great staff and rooms very roomy and clean. Close proximity to restaurant and other things to do. The bartender in the lobby was awesome. She was great very attentive. The outdoor pool is tiny but nice looking and it overlooks the city.

Whomever designed the modern look of A-Loft hotels must have graduated from the Millennial School of Interior Design. Call me old fashioned, but when I pay several hundred dollars for a hotel room, I like amenities. For starters there's no bell service, no concierge, just one young dude standing at the front desk. The modern look is dreadful. There are exposed ducts, exposed conduit and wiring, black wallpaper, and dim lighting. I guess that is what passes for "modern", but the dim hallways are an accident (or a rape) waiting to happen. Our room had no bathroom door, just a sliding piece of wood with a handle that made enough noise to alert people on all sides that I was getting ready to do my business. The closet also had no door so my clothes are hanging out there for all to see. The rod comes straight at you out of the wall, so you have to hang all your clothes one behind the other. I have to manhandle my wife's dress to get to my suit behind it. That's modern! I have no clue why the bathroom light was by the entry door, nor where I can go to get the 10 minutes back that I spent searching for it. The luggage carts were apparently stolen from the nearby airport. Those low slung push carts that only hold 2 bags. Gone are the larger 4 wheel platform carts that every other hotel in the world uses. The pool was tiny. I mean the size of two hot-tubs tiny. It was so small I thought I'd wandered into the kiddie pool by mistake.

This much much more awesome than is depicted online. The rooms are huge, they are clean, they are modernized. The location is within walking distance to restaurants. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They allowed me to check in at 11AM because my room was ready even though check in time is usually at 3PM. And parking is only $10 a night. I highly recommend staying here.

This is by far my favorite Hotel to stay at in North Carolina! It is decor is ultra modern from the time you pull up to the front, to the grand entrance, to the bar and ultimately your room. These hotels are also always located in the hot spots of each major city and the service it fantastic!

Very safe, secure and clean place to spend a few nights. They do have a bar, and an Irish bar next door that serves superior food. This was the first Irish Bar that cooked me some great chicken wings! (They are NOT on the menu. )

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The hotel staff is friendly and it's in a great location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Durham!

Got stuck in Durham overnight and Aloft had rooms available. The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff were friendly. Just what I wanted for our stay. Also got upgraded to a better room for free. Will definitely stay with Aloft again.

You can't stay at a more convenient and comfortable hotel when seeing a show at DPAC or just traveling from out of town! The rooms are very modern and clean and (while I haven't been in every room) I'm pretty sure that every single one must have an awesome view! I always hate getting a room in other hotels when I'm overlooking a roof or an air conditioning unit — the view of the Tobacco district is breathtaking! The staff is helpful and friendly. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. The breakfast biscuits downstairs weren't bad either! Will stay here every time we visit Durham!

This is a cool new hotel right in the Heart of the City. I love the dacor, and the staff was really top-notch. The chef especially, he really went out of his way to make my mom's stay there worthwhile. Next time I have guessed, I'm definitely going to have them stay at this hotel.

The room was nice and very contemporary with a great view of downtown Durham. We were attending an event at the Durham Performing Arts Center and Aloft is right next door. There are also several Bars and Restaurants in the area. We are considering visiting again with our kids to attend a Durham Bulls game since the stadium is right next door.

I like Aloft concept even though I'm over 70.
The accessible room we booked 402 was too far from the elevator. Should be up close. Enjoyed the fireworks at Durham Bulls home opener from the window.

A very nice hotel for the sake of convenience. The rooms are very well maintained (as has come to be expected with Alofts! ) however the building seems to have been rebuilt around a prior structure so some hallways are very long and windy. This could definitely be a problem for people unable to walk long distances, but if you don't mind the hike than it is a very nice walk through a well decorated establishment.

My experience would have been nice except I asked for a late check out. Not only did the front desk call all 10 am but then housekeeping knocked at 11 (even though the do not disturb sign was on the door) followed up by them letting themselves in the room at 1pm. Our check out had been confirmed twice for later in the day. I did speak with the manager who took care of the situation. Unfortunately, by then our sleep had been disturbed numerous times. Location was great. Since it was right next door to the venue.

Staff was excellent, rooms were clean. They should think about not placing guests in rooms directly above construction that starts at 7am every morning. Also, research the style of the Aloft brand, it will be abrasive to folk used to more traditional hotels of equal quality.

Great friendly staff. Design problems include car deck and DPAC not accessible to hotel without exiting. Floor to ceiling view of heat/air system at elevators. Beautiful view of Tobacco District from front. Great complimentary breakfast. Enjoyed my stay.

Absolutely loved it. Very clean and modern hotel. Awesome views of the city. Tyler checked us in and was very helpful and informative. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is poorly designed, rooms look cheap and not worth the money. You are only paying for the location, and there are better hotels near by like Marriott! Front desk night staff/weekend staff are super rude, I asked for a rate change at checkin and was promised this wth no issues. I followed up each day only to hear different. After talking with another guest, in town for the same event I learned their rate was changed with no issue. I wonder to this second what the diffe…rence could be, ethnicity maybe? Anyway moving on, the parking deck gate (possibly owned by a different company) remained broken and the front desk staff didn't care or try to assist, which made me late each day (trying to get in and out, super glad there wasn't a fire or anything worse) as this is the only parking location that the hotel offers, and it $10.00 per day per car. If I'm paying for a service it should work. If I'm paying for a service I expect to receive what I've paid for not the attitudes received, especially since I was charged more than others. No need to respond you've been paid.

Great service, the bartenders were very friendly. Only dislikable thing was that if people are being loud in the hallway it echos into your room, not much you can do about that though. Other than that the location is in a great spot with lots of good restaurants in walking distance.

Comfortable, trendy accommodations in the heart of downtown Durham. There are a number of attractions, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would stay again.

Rooms were super drafty — it was cold and windy, cold air was blowing in through the air conditioner, which was both loud and cold while trying to sleep. Also, the Wi-Fi is terrible, and the hotel generally looks pretty run down (despite the fact that it's brand new). Usually a fan of Alofts, but not this one.

Great hotel option for Durham as it's close to RTP, walkable to all that downtown has to offer and right next to the American Tobacco Trail. Hotel has reasonable rates, a nice gym, and wide range of dining options within a short walk. Great addition to the triangle.

Aloft is conveniently located next to DPAC in downtown Durham. The service was great, check in went smoothly and free overnight parking was offered in their parking garage next door. The room was quaint and modern with fun, funky feel. Everything was neat and clean with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable night stay. The price was fantastic, especially considering the awesome location. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking to visit Durham in the near future!

Although this is a great location, make sure you call the property first and ask about ANY adjacent construction going on. I was awakened at the crack of dawn by extremely loud drilling/banging that sounded like it was right in my ceiling and walls. So much for sleeping in on vacation. When I complained to the desk staff I was told they had no control over it and that the work was being done on an adjacent building, which is practically attached to the Aloft. These rooms never should have been available for booking, this section/wing of the hotel should be shut down until construction is complete. The front desk staff seemed very disinterested about the issue. They then also proceeded to charge me for parking for the local garage that had free parking over the weekend. Not an experience I plan to revisit.

The Aloft Durham is an amazing modern designed hotel with spacious rooms and excellent service and staff. Located on the American Tobacco campus in Downtown Durham, it's close to several nice restaurants and attractions such as the Durham Performing Arts Center and Durham Bulls Stadium. I stayed recently and the front desk attendant Danielle was very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again.

Cool hotel. Very modern themed. Has a pool and fitness center. Didn't use pool but fitness center has usual bits. Fairly convenient to downtown Durham however no shuttle service to airport. There is a bus system that will work but be sure to have a car on hand since it's north Carolina.

Love this hotel! The staff is extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is awesome. If you're looking for a fun modern experience this is the place to go!

I like the aloft — reliable and dog friendly. I thought it was a company policy but apparently they are franchised and owners can decide to or not to be dog friendly. This hotel is not. Shame…
