Apparently there were *scheduled* power outages for Duke Electric to perform update work and much of the town was without power at scheduled times. We were NEVER informed about this when we made the reservation. The hotel manager said it was due to a fire (THREE TIMES OVER TWO DAYS? ) That was a lie. We spoke to several businesses in the town and they all knew about the outages & expected them. Unacceptable.

Great view. Will post more after I get some shut eye. The beds are nice and firm the room is clean.

Clean hotel and courteous hard working staff.

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The bad, was charged for a room for nights that I wasn’t even there because they messed up my reservation. Cannot day enough good about the staff but the owner’s policy is tough luck if your reservation is messed up even if it’s their fault.

This place is fantastic! I believe it was Mabel at the front desk? She was very helpful with questions and made check in a breeze. The suite was extremely clean and well maintained. Bathroom was cleaner than most I’ve been in. My favorite part was the sticker of the Dragons Tail on the front door and the rack of bike and car towels. This place is very bike friendly with a ton of bike stalls for parking up front, as well as car enthusiast friendly. I highly recommend staying here if you’re doing the scenic drives through the Smokies.

For one week a year, for the last nine years I have taken up residency in this hotel. The staff has always been great and the rooms are always clean.

Good jumping off point for the dragon tail and 143/165 hwys! Actually I did the loop in an easy day rum including a trip to Marysville Harley dealership for some accessories!

Great place to stay goid breakfast.

Had a sign on the door not open till tomorrow. Bummer.

Very clean but TV didn't work and smoke detector was open and had no battery. Manager wasn't available when we checked out and the follow-up phone call we were promised never happened.

I've been coming here for years. The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful.

This is now a Quality Inn. Make the reservation for Wyndham and you find that it's in Bryson City. Ignore the rating.

Stayed here a couple years ago. Service was great. Had to work on the motorcycle and the manager drove me to get the parts then drove me across town to get the tool I needed. Even let me park on out of the rain to do the repairs.

I don't like the set up with very little parking, u must go thru lobby to enter your room. They are not totally rude but not nice either. Room was very small.

It's clean, quiet & spacious. Nothing is broken or worn out. It even has iron, ironing board & hair dryer.

It took about 20 minutes to check to see why my reservation was not showing up. While they were not able to find it they did have a room available. The rooms were comfortable with the exception of the beds. They were hard and uncomfortable. There wasn't much to choose from in this area so it might have been the best around.

They were wonderful with Angel (my 88 lb puppy) We really enjoyed the stay. Thank you for all the help.

Beds are hard as a rock — Carpets dirty — VERY Out dated suites/rooms. When you stay here you pay for the convenience of being in a small town and in close proximity to things in the area NOTHING else — NO frills. Staff was EXTREMELY nice. We were there for 4 nights. Our room was only cleaned twice. We had to ask for clean towels each day. Parking is a nightmare unless you have a motorcycle. Breakfast was extremely limited (only glanced — didn't eat it). Would consider staying again if/when Quality Inn takes over and updates.

Nice place to stay but the beds were beyond firm. Parking isn't the greatest, and you may have to park well away from the hotel if they have a crowd. Plenty of motorcycle parking for those coming to ride the Dragon though. Would definitely stay here again, even with the hard beds! Great staff, super nice and helpful.

We got to tail of the dragon late last night, and didn't book anything (definitely my fault. Should've known better). At around 1:30 in the morning I was warmly received. Rooms are clean and have no strange odors. Breakfast is included 7-9. Checkout at 11.

Clean, functional room — reminded me a lot of a university dorm. Staff was very friendly and helpful with local suggestions. Wifi was good. Motorcycle parking right outside was a nice touch. I didn't have breakfast.

It is nice and quiet could have a bigger parking lot. And also the continental breakfast could be a little better, maybe offer some fruit or yogurt. Need better choices.

We have stayed here every year for 6 years when we come to attend MINIS on the Dragon (which takes place the first weekend of May each year). Always super hospitable, free breakfast, and they supply towels for cleaning your cars! Today's our last day, and we're already booked for next year!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The people in the town are also friendly. The hotel is in need of some cosmetic upgrades, and the lighting in the rooms is either too bright or too yellow. Overall, the stay is pleasant if you need a hotel in the area.

The air conditioning in our room didn't work and although the breakfast was free it left a lot to be desired. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and courteous though. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience but not great either.

Very motorcycle friendly! Even though we smoke, I appreciate that it's all non-smoking. Very clean, super nice employees, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Plus doesn't have those bedcovers that you question how long it's been since they've been washed lol… we will definitely be back, and will only stay at the microtel.

Nice, clean modern hotel. The Wi-Fi wasn't fast enough to do anything besides send text messages but otherwise no complainants.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were decent, outdated. Turn down service was pathetic (sheets sloppily tucked in, etc). Considering it's one of the few hotels south of the Dragon, it isn't much more than a place to stay. The free breakfast isn't much (waffle maker, 3 types of cereal and some assorted baked goods from off site). One plus is the up front motorcycle parking and the proximity to the Tail of the Dragon.

This started out at arrival with 5 stars. New hotel in a tiny town. Clean, nice personnel. The room was small with high ceilings that give it a larger feel. The bathroom was larger than some expensive hotels I've stayed in recently and I loved the WINDOW SEAT on the 3rd floor with a view of the Smokey Mts. The pillows were nice, the bedding clean and then came time to sleep. The mattress was horrid, 5 inches of unpadded spring coils that poked every pressure point in my body. This turned my two day stay into a nightmare, as sleeping was something I was unable to achieve. Then we came to breakfast the next morning and as much as I want to say, oh it was great, it had the make your own waffle machine (reminder $74 a night in no where's ville) Breakfast was for me, vile. I don't eat grains or wheat, everything was made of all foods unedible. The coffee was fine, but only toxic coffee mate was available to put in your drink. No half/half, no cream and there was nothing for me to eat on the breakfast bar but cream cheese in a cup. No fresh fruit, not even a hard boiled egg. For you cereal, bagel, waffle lovers it was a perfect. For me, extra money to be spent as as I had to eat elsewhere. The rooms are large enough for small fridge and microwave and are devoid of them. And if everything was horrible, the room, the lobby, I wouldn't have cared if I could have just slept well. A 1000 mile round trip miserable. I would stay again, IF the hotel decides to upgrade their mattresses.

This is the first Microtel I've ever stayed in, and I was thoroughly surprised at how nice it was, especially for being such a reasonable price. The front desk staff was well informed and exceptionally nice. When I called for making my reservation, I didn't expect to be helped by such a friendly, jubilant employee. Thanks Microtel for a great quality stay!

I've been to Minis on the Dragon several times and I've stayed at the Microtel each time. It's the only place I stay. It's clean! The staff is great! They make you feel like family.

Every time I go to Robbinsville, I stay at the same place — the best place — Microtel Inn on the Rodney Orr Bypass. Great folks, nice rooms, and motorcycle friendly. And you know what? Next time I go, I'll stay there again. :-)

Every time I go to the Microtel in Robbinsville it is an issue. The last time I tried to stay at this hotel they allowed someone else to book the room. I arrived at the location at 8:00 pm on the night in which I had a reservation and they had no room for me. If you have ever been to Robbinsville you know there are not a plethora of places to stay. I ended up having to drive all the way to the Bryson City, NC Microtel because there was not a room available in Robbinsville. There was also a time that I stayed at the Microtel when they put me in a room that was right because the continental breakfast area. I ended up hearing people from 6:00 am all the way through 9:00 am. This was not the way I wanted to spend a vacation in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. I seriously doubt I will be back.
