My room got price matched ended up being $71 then this woman in front desk been charging me $74 today after a week of no problem $84 was charged for room. She wouldn't give me supervisors number to file a complaint and isn't fixing the problem.

BEDBUGS IN ROOM 318! I have lived in Gastonia my entire life and never stayed here until a few nights ago. My friend had been telling me for years just how terrible this place is, so simply to solve my curiosity I chose to stay here. The next morning I woke up and had somewhere between 30-40 bites from bed bugs! I immediately showered, bagged up all my clothes except my underwear and bath robe and checked out. As I was leaving, 2 female employees were behind the desk and I informed them of their bedbug issue in room 318 and showed them some of the bites on my body. They both assured me that when the manager came in later that day, that he would refund me the $ for my stay: that wasn’t what I had asked for, I hadn’t asked for anything up to that moment. It took me just over 2 days and 7 different times stopping by to catch one of the managers there. When I did, he told me that they had rented the room out to another customer and currently hadn’t received any complaints about bed bugs, so the bites on me couldn’t be bed bugs and refused to refund my $ or do anything to make it right. I even informed him that the bites hadn’t been there when I checked in, hadn’t left the property since checking in, therefore it was IMPOSSIBLE I acquired the bites anywhere else except in the room… I have heard horror stories about this hotel for years and now I have one of my own. Thanks a lot Econolodge for being the absolute worst hotel in Gastonia!

Great room for the price. Appeared recently remodeled. One issue was a crack in the tub I found, looked like someone drove their heel down to hard.

Stayed one night. Front desk staff friendly and accommodating. Had a small issue upon check in that was corrected quickly. Room was clean and in good shape. No bugs, no smell. I like the fact there is no carpet because that is what holds so much of the odors. Guessing that they recently remodeled. Quiet room and hardly heard any foot traffic outside the door. I was leary about staying so close to the front but there was hardly any noise from cars coming in and out. Was very impressed and actually expected less given the fact it was a low budget place. Would definitely stay here again.

Employees and managers staff was very professional anything I need they took care of… PS Tell them let you stay on (Alma) side she was the best housekeeping in the business… four thumbs up to the manager…

First impressions mean a lot. The first impression here was greater than expected for an EconoLodge. The lobby is newly renovated, beautiful and welcoming. Desk staff is professional and friendly. Rooms are nice but need better housekeeping and maintenance. Overall a good bang for your buck.

Has a bunch of spiders and roaches they are not pet friendly don’t really clean much just tidy a few things up … wouldn’t recommend not worth the money go to woodsprings.

I think it's great! The location was what I liked because you don't hear any traffic. The front desk was very accommodating and treated us as people not just money to be made. Gave us a fantastic deal and we thank you so much!

Roaches, bed bugs, sheets are not clean. If you look in the back of the hotel, it looks like dump with hundreds of tash bags just sitting on the ground next to a huge trash bin that is always over flowing. HD (the owner) is very rude & unprofessional, he yells at people when he is in the wrong. He throws papers in people's face. He talks down to people. It seems the only way he is nice to people is when prostitutes is all in his face. The rest of the employees are very nice. Stay away. every body has a different rate & they base it on how you look. Also the pictures look great but wait till you actually see the rooms, my sat on the bed and a actual bed bug bit her on her leg and the owner would not do nothing about it but accuse me of bringing the bed bugs to his hotel. Nice try I will be contacting the health department asap.

Bad service. Girl at front was rude. Room was dirty. Had to get our own towels and wash the filthy tub. Remote for TV did not work so stuck on one channel.

You get what you pay for. Simple as that. Room was OK but when we went for breakfast toaster won't work. Though things were there to eat.

It is easily accessible, the people are very friendly, the bed is comfortable, has establishments nearby.

Best price in the area, but you get what you pay for. I'm not picky, so I'd stay there again. It was clean, and the staff was helpful.

Charged us the same nightly rate for a room that was not renovated and in the middle of repairs leaving the bathroom sink leaking. Bugs everywhere and attempted to get a michrowave sent to our room for 4 days with no luck. Also there were bugs… not many but they were there… not suitable for 320$ when intown sweets is a lot nicer and only 280$ a week.

Never had a problem with the owners here. Occasionally there maybe some rude vistors but if you let the front office know whats going on they will handle it.

Reasonable pricing for rooms continental breakfast excellent it's been completely remodeled to all the rooms look really nice have flat screen TVs fresh paint new beds new floors they've done an excellent job with the remodeling.

Five stars for dirty floors and bad room smell… extremely poor front desk management… won't even wait until you finish your sentence before they turn their back… DONT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WITH A LIL MORE TIME TO LOOK FOR A BETTER PLACE.

We stayed here two nights recently although we were only intending to stay one. The hotel room was very nice and environment was quiet. We were enjoying the peaceful stay so much we stayed an extra night just to relax. We would definitely go back. The price is great and room doesnt compare to what you get in Greenville SC for that amount. You would pay at least double for the cleanliness alone in most areas.

It was neat and clrsnand quiet. The only thing I dse was s a female employee smoking in frony of the office outside.

Me and my family stayed at red carpet inn for 3 days and as far a whole the stay was not one of our better ones. There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room. The TV was so old itwouldn't turn up or down the picture was red the towels were small bout size of a kitchen hand towel and people are out partying until who knows when and being loud and disrespectful.

Check inn, got to the room and went back to check out. I never had an experience like that before. Lost my almost $50 of the night, but save $1, 000s on medical bills. They are no words to describe the situation and I am not picky at all, just need a pillow and a bed and am good. But this. Wow no words.

Very bad services and dirty, most things are broke, they reuesd the bed sheet, the indian woman was terrible, never Redcarpet Inn again!

Doors dont lock… a/c didnt work rug is nasty pillows probly from when they were first invented and front desk didn't want to change the room due to all the other being just as bad… would not come back if life depended on it…

I was driving threw NC and stopped here for a night to get some rest and it was comfortable.

I've stayed in several motels nearby but always avoided this one because it just looked rundown and seedy when driving thru their parking lot. I'd heard it was under new ownership and when I checked the parking lot, it looked cleaner and the cars were all newish and upscale. I went in and got a room and the staff was friendly. The $50 mid-week room I got was clean. This building is very very old, the floors creak when u walk across them. The walls were painted nicely but covered decades of patches. The towels were very old but clean. No microwave, no fridge. When I travel alone all I need is to feel safe and clean; and I did here. The old big box TV had lots of channels (but not FOX oddly, couldn't watch American Idol). Their 'breakfast included' consisted of exactly a packaged honey bun, like u would get from a vending machine. That was all they had for their breakfast. Nothing else at all. The room was slightly more expensive than their competition (mid $40's) that's within a quarter mile away that have microwave/fridges in the rooms and MUCH newer. I would only stay here again if their price was the least expensive; currently they're a couple bucks MORE than the other motels.
