The experience was absolutely incredible. The staff was courteous, attentive and professional. Mike is awesome. I will highly recommend for any occasion. Our day was made even more special with our experience at the Dunhill Hotel.

On this past weekend my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Dunhill. Although it was a short stay we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is such a charming, classy, timelessly decorated, luxuriously appointed hotel… And please don’t get me started about the brunch at the Asbury.

Food was exquisite and the service staff was extremely welcoming!

Such a charming and cozy hotel! I have a large, beautiful corner room with gorgeous views! The staff exhibit outstanding southern hospitality. Highly recommend!

They stole my brand new dress I left behind, gave me the run around, and now are ignoring my calls. What a shame. Hotel had potential. Very disappointed.

Gorgeous boutique style hotel in the heart of Charlotte! The Asbury restaurant in the lobby has a unique menu with many delicious offerings! Within walking distance of just about everything you might desire. They also offer a free shuttle service inside the loop as long as their cute little taxi is available.

This is a very friendly hotel. From the guy at the valet to the people at the front desk all the way to housekeeping. Patricia in housekeeping for our turn down service was very friendly and made our family feel welcomed. There is plenty places to hang out in the hotel and relax. There's 1 restaurant attached to the hotel. There is a mini fridge in the rooms, but unfortunately no microwave. The hotel is located by many attractions and restaurants within walking distance of anything you made for a stay in Charlotte.

This was our fourth time staying here. It's a fantastic hotel! Historical. Beautiful room's. Great menu to order room service from. The staff are incredibly friendly. It's very close to a variety of restaurants and bars. Walking distance to most uptown attractions. I definitely would recommend a stay here!

Absolutely amazing customer service. Food was delicious and the bed was so comfortable. Did I mention the amazing customer service? From check-in to check-out. The bellman Jim or Mike who printed out and brought me menus from a nearby barbecue restaurant followed by Patricia from housekeeping who offered to turn down the bed and provided chocolates in the evening. I will definitely stay again. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed here on June 1. The people was very friendly and got us checked in quickly. The room was nice and clean. They took really good care of us. We plan to stay here again soon.

Love this little historic hotel! Perfect location in uptown Charlotte. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. The epicentre is a few blocks away as well! The bellmen Turner and Giohn were amazing! Both of these guys stayed busy but were always smiling ready to assist our family with anything we asked. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

The Dunhill is a beautiful and elegant hotel. The location is outstanding and the staff is phenomenal. It's within walking distance to so many of Charlotte's attractions which is very convenient. However, the rooms were much smaller than a normal hotel. I guess you're paying more for the location and the history of the hotel. Parking was not free, which was disappointing since the hotel is already quite costly. There was no counter space in the bathroom at all, so getting ready to go was a challenge, but doable. We would not stay here again, but it was a nice experience to do it once.

Beautiful, historic hotel. There room was bigger then I expected, very comfortable, all the modern amenities, and still a romantic, historic feel. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The bar in the lobby was very nice with a talented bartender. I will definitely stay there again.

The Dunhill is nice in most aspects. Clean, quiet, with nice bathrooms. However, for over $400 a night, I expected more than one-ply toilet paper. I expected to be able to sleep in a bit on a Sunday morning, but they stop serving breakfast at… get this… 9:00. That is by far the earliest breakfast closing time I have ever heard of at a hotel. Also, my kids got sick (through no fault of the hotel) and threw up in the room at 8:00 in the morning. We called the front desk, and did they send someone with supplies to help clean it up? No. They told us to use the bathroom towels to clean it up and never sent anyone to help us. We checked out close to noon with vomit still on the floor. They didn't even offer to bring us extra towels. Granted it was my kids who threw up, but at over $400 per night, I would have expected better service than that.

Stayed here for a wedding. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very expensive for a very very small room. Had a reservation but when I got there they didn’t have my room. Not a very nice front desk person. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for a lot less. Will never go back.

Fantastic hotel! We stayed here for a quick one night staycation (we live in Greensboro, 1.5 hours away) and we cannot be happier with our stay! From the moment we walked in the doors, we felt welcomed. We had the opportunity to stay in their Penthouse Suite which if you ever have the chance to, DO IT, beautiful suite! The staff were top notch, the room was beautiful, the location couldn’t be beat. We cannot wait to go back!

This is a nice place, but not as nice as I expected. I had an executive room and it was rather basic, but it was a corner room and the views were awesome from the room windows. It's centrally located in downtown Charlotte, so you're close to everything.

I'm very disappoint took about 45min to get my food been going there for years. Manager jenny looks very unhappy wont smile near greet took to long to get food. Waitress have Bad Attitudes food isn't that good to deal with bad service.

Rooms were clean, greeted each time I arrived and left. The room was a little warm for my taste as I returned back from a work function and the temperature was set at 82 degrees. I had it set at 67 when I left.

Stayed in one of the penthouse suites. Simply beautiful! Charming and elegant. Wish I had just one more night, and that view!

This is a small hotel, and old, but if you're not looking for a lot of modern razzle-dazzle, it's excellent. The beds are like pillows. It's very well appointed. I wouldn't recommend the food, but take a look at the menu and decide for yourself. The Dunhill is right in the middle of uptown Charlotte, and if you don't want to drive in this part of town with its plethora of one-way streets, they have a complimentary shuttle that will take you around that part of town. Parking is expensive, but that seems to be the case all over the city. I cannot say enough about the staff, who were, to a person, friendly and helpful and generally wonderful people who seemed to really enjoy their wprk.

A beautiful, historic boutique hotel. Fantastic service and a nice restaurant at lobby level. Also includes a shuttle to get you around downtown. Rooms are comfortable, if a bit small, but it IS a downtown city hotel so that's to be expected. Would absolutely come back.

The hotel is nice and well kept. However, do not stay here on the weekend if you are expecting a quiet hotel or a good night sleep, especially if you are travelling with an infant/child. The walls are paper thin, so loud cars, drunk people, and people preaching about the end of times will constantly wake you up until the early morning hours. If you express concerns to the front desk, they will tell you that it comes with the territory of booking an uptown hotel. The Ritz and the Omni DO NOT have this problem and are similar in price. Would not recommend booking.

What a gem in the city of Charlotte! The chef at the restaurant is top notch and makes farm to table fresh food from his family cattle farm. Definitely go visit!

I planned my sister's Babyshower in their event space — great communication, very professional and beautiful space. Dallas was as huge help. Definitely check it out for your next event.

This was my second visit and delifhtful once again. Charming decor and ambiance with Christmas decorations Concierge most helpful, it was just unfortunate that the shuttle car has a very short travel radius. If you are visiting Charlotte, it is a great stay.

The service was excellent and the staff was knowledgeable about the wine. The atmosphere was not to my liking. I wouldn't consider this to be upscale. It had a very 1970s feel but not in a good way.

Stunning hotel, amazing location. Customer service is even better than the ambiance though. Brianna at the front desk is a superstar. Helped us out of a jam, spent 30 minutes on the phone for us when she really didn't have to. Went way above and beyond. I will always stay here when I visit Charlotte.

My family stayed here one night recently. We arrived around 11:30pm after driving straight through from Ft. Lauderdale. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and got us to our room quickly and with minimal fuss. We were all sawing logs by midnight. Then the unthinkable happened. A fire alarm went off at 6:30am. We all threw on what clothes we could find and left the hotel, groggy & confused. A neighboring building opened their lobby to us to stay warm and the hotel brought o…ver coffee while the fire department investigated. No fire, but a water leak had potentially compromised some wiring. Neighboring businesses came by with free food for us, dropped it off, and left before we could even thank them. Southern hospitality definitely exists. 2 hours after the alarm, we were back in our room, gathering our things before the FD shut the power off to the building. I've been at hotels at the best of times and not seen the professionalism and concern for their guests that the staff of the Dunhill Hotel showed. They even initiated an (unasked for) refund of our stay. We will come back to Charlotte. And we will stay at the Dunhill Hotel again. It's easy to be excellent when things are going well. It's much harder to shine amidst chaos and trouble. The Dunhill and its people did just that.

The Dunhill is a nostalgic hotel that proved to be an excellent choice for a romantic evening celebrating my wife's birthday. We had an 8th floor corner room overlooking Tryon and 6th Street. Although the staff dropped the ball regarding the welcome gift I had arranged a few days prior to be in our room when we arrived, they still offered top customer service. It was a very comfortable room and the hotel is convenient to any place you'd like to walk to Uptown. As a Charlotte native, it's a special historic landmark to enjoy.

Most impressed with this facility and it's staff! We were welcomed from the time we were on the street trying to get into the valet garage until we checked out 2 days later. I won't stay anywhere else when visiting Charlotte. This hotel is a wonderful hidden gem in Charlotte.

Immediately we were impressed with the staff at The Dunhill Hotel. We were greeted and our bags were taken as soon as we walked in. We were checked in quickly and we were off to our room, which was gorgeous! The bed was big and comfortable, and I don't think I've ever slept so well in any hotel before. The room, as well as the rest of the Hotel, had a wonderful charm and great decor. We had a great breakfast and the staff was always helpful and very friendly. The location may be the best part of the stay. It's located directly beside the Discovery Place and is within walking distance of anything in uptown Charlotte. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to stay again, would recommend to anyone.

Service was great-wonderful staff-friendly and welcoming. Location great in downtown Charlotte-5 min walk to Spectrum Center. Complimentary wine, snacks, water, breakfast. Beautiful, clean room. When we visit Charlotte, this is where we will stay.

Breathtaking, historic hotel! Cozy rooms and very clean. Full of history and restored to its original beauty, this is a hotel you must stay in during Charlotte visits. The staff is super friendly and VERY helpful. The parking situation has room to improve but I will definitely stay at the Dunhill again.

Just decided on a whim to check it out and was definitely pleased with my choice! Will try my best to book this hotel again for future stays! The continental breakfast was way better than most hotels… the food is cooked better, from the eggs to even the oatmeal! Not bad at all coming from the oldest hotel in charlotte! Very historic place and atmosphere!

Lovely romantic getaway. The room, champagne and roses were so perfect. Highly recommend The Asbury for dinner! Our bed was amazingly comfy and breakfast in bed was on point. Just wonderful.

We were only there for a night, but it was in a great location with friendly staff. The room was set up nicely and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the doorman! Very classic. Breakfast in the morning was great! Lots of variety.

Rooms and service was great, very beautiful. Was very underwhelmed by the breakfast though — it wasn't completely ready when I got there at 7 (it started at 6:30) and the eggs seemed to be a little undercooked. That's my only knock, though — other than that I really enjoyed the hotel.

The room was both beautiful and comfortable and their restaurant had a fantastic breakfast. We didn't use the shuttle service, but it was nice to have it available if needed. The concierge service was wonderful — they directed us to some great local eats. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The only negative was we had to wait 2 hours after the check in time to get into our room. Other than that, the experience was wonderful.

The hotel looked very nice inside. My friend and I were in there to see about using a couple of their meeting rooms for a future event. We sat in the lobby next to the bar to discuss the venue, and an employee was walking around handing out bowls of popcorn to guests. We did not receive one, and other than the doorman our presence was not acknowledged by the staff. In general it was a nice hotel, clean and pretty, and that is what matters.

We had an absolute fabulous stay. We stayed one night and had dinner at the Asbury which is the restaurant at the hotel. Excellent food! We had a small housekeeping/maintenance issue but the staff at the Dunhill took care of it immediately. Our room was very nice and the bathroom was beautiful! We were also very impressed by the breakfast at the Dunhilll. Amazing. We would most definitely stay here again!

Great location in downtown Charlotte with a great staff.

Great hotel stay experience. Nice staff. Lots of charm that goes along with a historic hotel. Got a free hotel taxi ride to nearby points — was a British taxi. Very cool.

Total rip off parking garage. They advertise $6 and take advantage of visitors to the Discovery Place and signs that seem to indicate that this is the garage for their parking. The signs are completely misleading.

The Dunhill Hotel is very charming and beautiful, but the staff is amazing. Pete the bartender gave us wonderful insight on what to do in Charlotte! The entire staff was superb.

Never having stayed or even visited Charlotte, I was not sure where to stay. I booked this hotel based on other reviews and was not disappointed. The location was perfect for my needs, and I loved having a parking garage. The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Even though the room was not large, it made up for it in charm. The shower had decent pressure and having a robe available to me was a plus. Breakfast was included in the reservation and I would highly recommend you take advantage of that. Breakfast was fantastic, not your ordinary continental breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel if you are not staying for a long period of time.

Stayed here on 5/24 for late anniversary/my husband's birthday. The staff was super, room was clean and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, the air doesn't get cool enough to keep the rooms cool and I suffered all night due to the room being warm and stuffy.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary here recently, we LOVED it! The staff were all top notch, the hotel and room was charming, and The Asbury Restaurant superb! I had noted on our reservation form of our Anniversary, but didn't expect anything, however the front desk gentleman, then the restaurant hostess, AND all the wait staff all congratulated us — as well as providing us a complimentary champaign toast! The chef made an extraordinary special meal for us when he learned we were vegetarians. From start to finish, our stay at The Dunhill was wonderful, we loved it, and will be back! The hotel is a historic hotel, the rooms are smaller than some of the big name hotels — it had lots of historic charm and character, it was without doubt, our favorite place we've ever stayed. Well worth it. Thank you Dunhill staff, we will be back soon.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Dunhill for our anniversary and were extremely pleased. When we drove into Downtown, there was a festival going on and we could not get to the main entrance. We called and the gentleman at the front desk told us about the back entrance, and said he would wait outside by the Parking Garage and look for us to show us where to go. We did not park at that time (since we had another stop to make first) but were really impressed by the gesture. Check in was smooth and customer service was outstanding. We were asked if we were there for a special occasion and we said it was our anniversary. Shortly after settling into our room, we were brought a couple glasses of Champagne, which was a very pleasant surprise!. The room was cozy and perfect and looked out onto Tryon Street and we were able to look out onto the city. The location of the hotel is perfect for being able to get out and walk to a variety of attractions. We had a great experience and will definitely be back. Great job Dunhill.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The people working there were extremely friendly and happily talked to me at length when they had time. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only slight drawback was the failure of the shower to maintain a temperature. I can live with that — — it wakes me up! There is free wi fi and water in the room on arrival. Best of all is the situation, which is right in the middle of Uptown (read downtown) Charlotte, so restaurants, museums, etc. Are very close. I don't recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel and used for breakfast. Our meals there were variable and the service is inconsistent. Otherwise, I have only happy memories The Dunhill. The room rate was very competitive.
