The main issue with this hotel is it's badly in need of renovation. It's old and very noisy due to having a night club across from it. You also share an elevator with the Epicenter which makes for a less than great experience. The plus. Is the location is excellent and so is the staff. So it's not terrible, but there is much better options in Uptown Charlotte.

This was one of the worst hotels that we have ever stayed! Very noisy, the bed and pillows were lumpy and the sheets were thin and the fitted sheet rolled up because it was too small for the mattress Very difficult to find the hotel… No signs for Aloft. The parking cost 25.00 for less than 24 hours. The room was expensive 214.00 for this mess. Could not wait to leave this a. M. The elevators to get to and from the parking deck were very confusing. Everyone we talked to felt the same way. There was also mildew in the grout of the bathroom. Also something bit my husband and I while we were trying to sleep. We will NEVER stay at any Aloft hotel again. I would like a refund please!

The hotel is incredible. The room was very unique with a modern city life design. The location is really amazing but downtown site is not the easiest to get to if you are not local. The only thing I did not like was the $20 charge for parking, I could have missed something but the girl at the front desk told me she could not validate the parking. Aside from parking it is a very nice hotel with a lot to do around it.

I love the way Ms. Kalilah let me check in my room. She explained to me how to work my key for the elevator and the room. I so LOVED the rooms EXCEPT… there's no place to put your clothes… Except on this cot under the tv. I got up to go eat breakfast! NOT SO… You gotta pay for EVERYTHING! But thank you for this EXPERIENCE! Also, I've been asking about the pool since I checked in… the reply… It's being repaired! Just seen some reviews… where the pool has been down for almost a MONTH! WOW.

Great place to stay. Very friendly staff. The night shift Ashley was very accommodating and assisted me in every way possible. Great way to show excellent service!

Great place to spend a weekend. Decor is modern, mostly recent bathroom and bedroom fixtures. Only the TV failed to give off a furure-loft feel, which was a bummer; it was not even actually HD and was probably every day of 10 years old. Otherwise, the room was excellent, overlooking the Epicenter which was pretty awesome to watch on the weekend when I wasn't there myself. Be wary of dismissing housekeeping in the morning, as they won't come back. I sleep late and therefore had to order my own towels all weekend and never got anything cleaned. Parking is $25 bucks a night and is just regular epicenter garage parking, so there are two different elevators between your car and your room, and the parking garage elevator is nuts on the weekend. Knowing what I do, I'd probably still come here, but we'd probably have made a plan to keep one car off-site to save $75.

We stayed at the Aloft Charlotte Uptown at the EpiCentre hotel the same night as the Eagles Concert. Location is AMAZING and incredibly convenient to the Spectrum Center. When we arrived at 3pm on a Wednesday, there was a line and took quite a while to get checked in, which surprised us. Room was nice but much smaller than we expected. I felt, before we even arrived, that we were already being price-gouged with the cost of the room (total was $427 after taxes and parking) Apparently, all of the downtown hotels were doing it … although the same room at Aloft for tonight is only $134 (? ). BUT … we knew what we were getting into when we agreed to cost per night. What we DIDN'T agree to was being literally above a NIGHTCLUB that was SO LOUD the room literally vibrated from the loud music until 2am. I'm not sure if Room 818 is directly over the "Kandy Bar" club but it sure sounded and felt like it. We were up and out of this hotel super early and ready to get home. Although the location was amazing, I definitely wouldn't stay in this particular location again. I truly wish we would have been given fair warning about the nightclub below. Definitely did not get any rest while staying at this location.

The room was nice, location central, and staff rather friendly. I booked this hotel as part of a conference in town. Althought the website describes an “urban noise experience, ” I never anticipated that that would mean being able to sing along with the music from the club downstairs. Even the complimentary ear plugs don’t quite do the trick… I will not be staying again when I’m in town in the coming months and may even explore cutting my current reservation short. I would not recommend to anyone booking a Charlotte trip for anything other than clubbing until 2am.

I got the 'Sip in style" package. Upon arrival front desk directed me to the wrong parking deck, was not helpful and unprofessional to say the least. We never even received our vouchers for our drinks nor was it even mentioned. The room overall was clean and comfortable. The view was decent and the location was convenient. However this is not worth the money. Service was at it's lowest. I wouldn't recommend to stay with children as the environment is geared towards adults. No I will not be returning.

Amazingly friendly staff, they part time foster a dog which is amazing too. The rooms are okay, it feels like they try to make it prettier than they try to make it comfortable. Overall enjoyed my stay, I like the breakfast, I thought trivia was a nice touch as well. I personally did not like the bed too much.

Nicely appointed room with two queen sized platform beds, lovely view of the city. Bathroom more than adequate with large shower. A nice safe for the guest to use. There are no drawers for storage of clothing; only open shelves… I laid out my clothes on the bench underneath the television, underwear and all. The hotel itself is extremely difficult to locate: my GPS stopped me at 4th and College; NO signage visible anywhere. It took another several trips around the block and a phone call to locate the correct building. Even when I found the parking garage, the signs in the garage were few and far between and very difficult to locate to direct me to the hotel. Then there is the parking itself… what was never mentioned when making reservations was the fact while it will cost $25 dollars to have the valet park my car for me, it will cost me $25 PER DAY to park it in the garage myself. This I was not told until AFTER I had parked my car… which would then mean for a three day stay, I would have to pay $25 dollars to move my car to have the valet park it for me for an additional $25. Their excuse? The hotel does not own the garage. I have been to other hotels around the country where the company had had contracts with the garage owners for a single, nominal fee for the entire stay, if not complimentary. A very poor reception for someone who had just spent 10.5 hours on the road.

This is a nice hotel. The location is great and within walking distance to many restaurants and bars, theaters and even a bowling alley. Staff is courteous. Rooms are contemporary and well planned out. Amenities are also nice with a cute little bar on-site and an indoor pool.

Hotel was nice and clean. Great location downtown. You can easily hear the Epicenter but if you are at this hotel you probably want that experience anyways. You do have to ride an elevator to the lobby and then a separate one to your room and that was the only part I didn't like.

I loved staying at this location. It is really convenient. My wife and I just the stay in the epicenter location. Don't have to go anywhere else. I noticed people complain that the rooms are small. I think for 2 people it's just right. I love the king size bed. It is noisy at times but given the location it's expected. If you want to total quiet then don't stay at such a busy area. I did hear about a sweet dreams package which I would have asked for had I k own about it sooner. Overall I love the place.

Stayed for a short time. Then visited studio movie grill. Good atmosphere.

We had a nice stay although it gets pretty noisy. The beds are comfortable and the staff are quite nice.

Good location but badly in need of renovation. Shared elevator with mall area is less than ideal. Also very noisy and sub par rooms.

The EpiCenter is very convenient — lots of restaurants and bars, a Starbucks and a pharmacy — everything you need! The stadium is very close by as well. The EpiCenter gets noisy at night on the weekend but we were a part of the going-out crowd so we didn't mind. The hotel provides ear plugs and a noise machine. The staff is very accommodating and friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again!

Hotel was super convenient and located right in downtown Charlotte. Upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel could have been better.

It was a fantastic location! Right in the center of everything — very convenient. The room was big and was very aesthetically pleasing. My only complaint is that the beds were a little uncomfortable.

Noisy, but terrific management that could not have been nicer. I wouldn't recommend staying with a family here during the weekend. Probably terrific if in Charlotte to party.

This aLoft hotel is a lot like other aLofts I've stayed at and love it. The rooms are comfortable and perfect for my needs. Reasonably priced breakfast a plus! This particular property is in the heart of an entertainment center with nightly live music but it quiet down around 11pm. Very close to the convention center.

The hotel was fantastic! We chose to valet park, so we just dropped the car off and headed in. The lobby is on the 5th floor of the building. It was the first time I've ever seen people just hanging out in the lobby of a hotel. There's a sitting area, a pool table, a snack bar area and a bar. The staff was very friendly. I do wish they had asked if we had a preference on the room. I wanted a king bed, which we got, and a high floor, which we got. But they put us on the quiet side. I didn't want that. I wanted to be able to see everything. We could have asked for a different room, but chose to just stay where we were. But I felt like they judged us as "older" and put us on the quiet side because of that. So it would be nice if they would ask. The room was very nice! It was clean and the layout was a bit different than the usual hotel. I loved it! Their idea of an "oversized" shower is questionable, but it wasn't a small shower, so I have no complaint there. I just expected it to be bigger. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We slept great! The air conditioner is a little loud, but it's not bad enough to complain about. I've stayed in places where it was much louder. At least it works well. Our room stayed nice and cool. We ended up not doing much other than going to the concert that we were there for because I ended up getting sick before we got there and I didn't feel like doing much. But you're right there at everything. Just head downstairs and take it all in.

A room like I had never seen before. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and very cordial. Little tip — call and listen to The automated message to get the correct GPS address to find their parking location.

The Aloft at the EpiCentr is perhaps the BEST hotel experience I have had in quite some time. Purchased a three night stay for a mini-vacay and everything about it was fantastic! The location was incredible with easy access to a myriad of bars and restaurants. The staff are extremely pleasant to deal with. The super clean room had a great view with comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Charlotte!

A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER** I have been a loyal customer of your hotel chain for very long time and have always appreciated the excellent customer service and cleanliness of your hotels. Yet our recent unpleasant experience at your hotel has shaken our belief in your ability to provide top notch service. I'm writing you this to inform you of the cleanliness of the hotel and our hotel room. Please see the photos attached. This is not 4 star quality and very unacceptable. We had to check out and check into another hotel at 3am in the morning. I'm very displeased with our stay. **a very dissatisfied customer.

Arrived late and the front desk clerk Carleen, was very helpful and welcoming. Room is decent sized beds are comfortable enough, location is in central uptown Charlotte right on top of the Epicenter. I really grade hotels on the following: Clean, comfortable bed, quiet at night and a great hot shower. The aloft scored fine in the clean and comfortable category but not so well in the quiet and shower categories. Being in a great location can sometimes be a negative if your building can't handle the noise. The hotel is noisy at night but they do give you earplugs. But I have stayed many nights at the Ritz Carlton across the street and the rooms that face the Epicenter are really noisy as well. Showers are my cup of coffee in the morning and the shower was lukewarm and lacked pressure. I'll stay there if I have to because of lack of availability at other properties.

Professional and friendly staff checked me in and out of my room quickly. Hotel room was very nice and clean. Was provided ear plugs in case noise from Epicenter events were too loud.

The room was pretty small but the view was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. Also it's right in the epicenter. Very affordable for the location.

The rooms were spacious, but not large. Very modern vibe. Staff changed out the down pillows for synthetic in less than 10 minutes. It's a perfect if you want to go out to bars or dancing, since there are 3 floors of retail below the hotel. I saw reviews addressing noise problems, but our room was quiet. It probably would not be a good choice for families with kids, as most of the guests do go to the bars.

Solid Aloft hotel. My room did not have an iron or an ironing board. When I called down to the front desk to request one they acted like I just wasn't seeing it and gave me a bit of attitude about the whole thing. Maybe the front desk was just having a bad day? One star off of my typical five star reviews for Starwood Properties.

Very clean and well kept hotel. Nice decor and very friendly staff. Right in the epicenter with plenty of shops and food in walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

The room had everything I needed with a lot of free amenities that other hotels charge for. We could easily connect our phones to the TV for Netflix and hulu. The room was quiet and had a great view.

I've stayed here in the past (when the hotel was a lot newer and fresher) and I figured things would be the same. Bought my boyfriend here for his birthday and I was very disappointed! We check in… came to our floor and there are piles of sheets still laying in the hallway. We arrived right at 3:00 pm. About 2 hours later, housekeeping was still vaccuuming the hallway. We went downstairs to the bar. That was ok. I decided to get some ice and come to find out there are no ice machines. I had to go downstairs to the cafe where they had ice in the fridge in small ziploc bags! WTF! Our room was on the side where the clubs are located. We didn't mind the noise at all BUT we were supposed to have complimentary ear plugs which were not provided. I wanted to call downstairs to confirm check out time… the phone doesn't work AT ALL! Also the toilet tissue ring is broken and the air filters were hanging out the air unit. I will not be staying here ever again. Plus patrons do not receive complimentary parking in the garage so be prepared to pay at least $20 to park. Spend your coins wisely and go somewhere else.

I expected more from the Aloft based on the Stars & it being a upscale hotel. I was very disappointed. The location was great. The rooms are WAY smaller than the pictures. Everything was allotted (towels one per guest no extras unless ask) out even the ice which you had to go down to the lobby to get and the so called grab n go was severely OVERPRICED (16 oz Coke $4.00). Worst bed ever & parking too high for guest. Customer Service seemed lost to say the least. I want return I'll stick w/the Marriott franchises.

The location it great! we were very happy about that. The room was not the best. This was our first visit staying downtown, and I wish it was not here. We had to which rooms because of the dislike of the 1st one. The second room smelled like mildew, and like a old building. We had to buy two candles for the smell. The glass door to the bathroom was cracked and they just put a piece of sliver tape on it, the shower head cover had come off the wall, and the carpet was ugly! On line the rooms look so much bigger then in person. I love dogs, but I do not want to ride on an elevator with one that smells. Not all people know how to keep their dog clean. Also if you have an animal you should have to ride on another elevator. Please tell me why you have a refrigerator, but no microwave. I have to go all the way downstairs to heat up my food. I feel like if you have a fridge then it should be a microwave. You guys really need to do something about the smell in the rooms. I notice there was alot of young people here I think this was a party hotel. So if you don't like being around alot of young people DO NOT stay here! I wish we would have stayed at the Omni it would have been worth the few extra bucks. I gave it 2 stars just because of its location ONLY!

Customer service was questionable. I was a guest of someone who booked reservations at this hotel (bad choice). The young lady Saturday morning (Phylicia) appeared to be under the influence. What type of hotel employ such person to assist guest? She was not helpful over the phone and looked tired when I approach the desk. I did not receive the items. I called back and she was short and unapologetic. Rude! I was late for a brunch meeting. The room was amazing but I would think twice before staying or recommending this hotel after my experience.

What is the point in having a check in time if when you get to the hotel and they tell you that you are 3rd on the list and have to wait for your room to be cleaned? That makes no sense. A check in time gives the hotel 3 hours to clean the rooms. (Check out: 12pm; Check in: 3pm). Why am I waiting?

My family stayed at the Aloft 2 weeks ago for a wedding weekend and we had a great experience. Upon getting to our room, the safe was not working. We called the desk and they had someone up to repair it in minutes! The staff was very accommodating to our large group and went to lengths to see to our needs. Also. Bartender, Raymond makes a mean 'Moscow Mule'.

A nightclub style hotel. One of my favorite hotels to stay in, even though I only give it 4 stars. I just love the upbeat club like atmosphere and it's location right at the Epi Center. Designed like most other Alofts, it has the the lounge area with pool table, board games to play and the WXYZ bar. Pool, 24-hour free coffee machine, and snark area with breakfast to order in the mornings. The rooms are lust like other Alofts. The views of Charlotte from the windows are awesome. Minuses are that since it is a party hotel, it is worn and the management are not making the necessary repairs and carpet cleaning. Walls are damaged, carpets are very dirty and worn, and the soup dispensers in the showers work about half the time. The two biggest pains are the parking and the garage elevator wait. I definitely recommend that you valet park your car, unless you will be in-and-out a lot, as the parking the the Epi Center garage is a pain, especially if you have a large SUV. Also, the elevators to the hotel are only on 2 levels in the garage, and you have to wait, and wait. Other than that, one of my favorite places to stay due to the atmosphere, located at the Epi Center, walking distance to Time Warner Cable Arena, and adjacent to the Metro Blue Line.

Very metro looking hotel, rooms are decent size and I received very friendly service. The shower and bed had a Japanese style which also provided a nice modern feelings. The lobby also had a pool table for the guest.

Fabulous location! Walk where ever u want to go. We took in a panthers game and a hornets game! We stayed at the Aloft Charlotte Uptown. Fabulous! Walk out the door, every thing u want u walk to. No parking worries. I read some reviews that slam this hotel bcz of noise at night, Well that is the sound of the city, let it put u to sleep.

Made reservations weeks in advance. Arrived at 9:15pm and was given a room key. Went up to the room and a maid was in room cleaning it. Was told by front desk that room would be ready as soon as possible. They expressed no sense of urgency. It is now 9:45pm and I am still waiting on my room! Also, hotel is very difficult to find with no exterior street signage. Have stayed in several other aLoft properties without incident, but would never recommend this one. I will not be back.

Always one of my favorite hotels to stay at. This one in Charlotte at the EpiCenter is fun, hip, and in the best location. Staff are always friendly, rooms are clean and consistent. Love the shower and the city views from the windows are awesome. The made to order breakfast items are good as well. Only negative things are that parking in the EpiCenter garage can be a challange, especially on event weekends, and catching an elevator can take a long time on buys nights. Still one of my favorite properties.

Overall our 1 night stay was good. The down side of the stay was, the carpet in our room wasn't as clean as it should have been. There were some dirty spots. We had a very easy check in and check out and reps were very nice.

Tried to check in tonight 9/27 (Starwoods platinum member), security guard became irate over nothing and refused allowing me to checkin. Black guy, late 30's I would never stay here again.

The room was dirty, large stains on the carpet. The sink didn't drain and the toilet barely flushed. I lost my car keys while visiting. When I called to ask if they had been turned in I was told that lost and found was locked and I would have to leave a voicemail. 24 hours later, no one returned my call. Extremely dissapointing.

Great location, walking distance anywhere in Uptown. Lots of bars and entertainment right outside the door. Nice, modern room, big windows with nice view (mine from the 11th floor). Good coffee machine with free drinks in the morning. On the flip side, it wasn't immediately obvious how to get there from the street. The internet was veeeery sloooooow. Some of the breakfast choices were way to small for their price (hint — go for the breakfast sandwiches, they seem to be of better value). Those big windows came with pretty cheap blinds, both of which broke.

Terribly rude phone service. I called on behalf of my 20-year-old sister to ensure she could check into her room, accompanied with her valid state issued ID and credit card on the reservation, and kept getting told "she has to be of legal age. The legal age of an adult is 21. She has to be of legal age. " I eventually lost my cool and asked the clerk what country she lived in, because last I checked, "legal adults" are of the age of 18 in the United States. It would have taken three breaths for her to use her words and explain that it was in fact the hotel's policy, if so, rather than dumb me down by continuously reminding me of the "legal age of an adult" (which, for the record, is in fact 18 years old in this country). She didn't appreciate my sass (understandably) ; needless to say, sister is happily staying at The Hilton. Viva Hilton.
