The cottage are nice and have everything you need.

Cute little rooms! everything you need! cozy and comfortable… very clean. Bright!

We will definitely be back and hopefully able to rent a place with Avon Cottages. Our side of the duplex was very clean and spacious! The walk to the beach was minimal. We were met with such helpful and friendly reception upon arrival. Even after a snag with hotels. Com (DO NOT utilize to rent a place) we were still able to have a place to stay in Avon!

DO NOT STAY HERE! My husband I rented a cottage (106) for a 2 night stay. We ended up only staying for 1 night, and requested a refund. The floors were dirty and sticky. The ceiling was falling down. The floor was sticky and dirty. The towels that were provided were very dingy and not clean. The wall heater has electrical wire sticking out from it. The TV did not have any service. There were light bulbs burnt out. The bedroom door would not shut. The bathroom had no exhaust fan. To top all of that we found cockroaches. Do not stay here!

We love our vacation at the Avon Cottages. They are always so accommodating. Great cottages right on the beach. We recommend them to all our friends and family!

This is my favorite place we’ve ever stayed in all the years of visiting Hatteras Island!

Rooms aren’t large but they are plenty nice enough for a beach stay. However I do recommend calling ahead to have them turn the AC on. Took a couple hours for the room to cool. Pet friendly too!

Great place the view was awesome. And every comfortable.

Full kitchen and nicely maintained room. 10 steps to the beach, porch sitting with a glimpse of the beach. Wi-Fi is decent. Price-wise better option than the hotels in the area.

We loved this cottage. Clean and comfortable with a great view, and the owner is just great. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived. I came home on Saturday, and I wish I was still there!

As with all vacations the most important thing is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The views were wonderful and the facilities were clean and safe. I loved the entire experience. Can’t wait to go back.

Just got back from there. I booked under the recommendation of my sister who has been going for the past few years with her family. We had a wonderful time. The house was just fine views were about as good as you can get and the beach was spectacular! It has all the shopping and restaurants you need without loosing the small town feel. Houses are not right on top of one another and you have the pick of spots on the beach. I can tell you we will be back next year!

Great place close to the beach. Family friendly place, stores near by had a great time. Would give five star if I didn't have to unclog the bathroom tub.

Went during the off season. Was very nice & quiet. Definitely a good price for somewhere to stay when in the off season. Good location, not in the middle of town, but still only a few mins away. Will definitely be staying again.

I wish I could say our stay was great. This was my first time taking my family from Michigan to the Outer Banks and I’m disappointed with how much money I paid for what I got. The kitchen cabinets were falling off, shelves bowing, there was a window in the living room that was shattered and wouldn’t close, the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months, it was so bad our feet turned black. There was a crack in the drywall from the floor to the ceiling. The sliding glass doors wouldn’t open unless you pulled up and out and the same time. Light fixtures were all rusty and gross. The bathrooms were falling apart. The beds were on wooden frames and when I sat on one it fell through the frame. For how much money they charge, simple things could be done to make these cottages a little better. It looked like they don’t even clean after each stay and they don’t require guests to clean up after themselves either. The only nice thing was the ocean views and beach access. I won’t be staying again.

Views are amazing but bring your own sheets for the beds and bathing towels. Seems like they are updating the beach houses but not all are completed. Air conditioning is ice cold, appliances in the houses work great. The staff can't be blamed for how the guests treat the houses. Amazingly friendly staff.

I have not one complaint, all 6 of us that went had a blast! Great cottage with a great beach within 1 min.

I wish I could give it zero stars. For the price you pay you expect an average (C+) kind of experience. Safe to say that was not anywhere close to accurate. I'm sorry to whoever else got bamboozled into thinking this was close to a 4 star experience. I came to the cottage around 11 at night (long drive) and there were college partiers, loud music still going, and a dog tied to the stairs I was supposed to use to even get to the door. Then when I finally got my key and unlocked the door… there was someone else sleeping on the couch. I promptly called management and immediately had them not charge me. Over booking and not even telling a guest and having that happen? No. So I had to go find another place last minute far away from there. Safe to say I will never be visiting that place again.

The hotel rooms were really old and dingy. There was a roach in the wall. The heaters were covered in gunk and dust. The shower head was only about 5 ft up and had no water pressure. It smelled like cigarette smoke and old eggs. The good thing is that it was right beside the beach so a very easy easy walk and it had private parking. Also it was across from a really awesome bar.

My family really enjoyed our stay at Avon Cottages. The cottage was up to date and clean. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The location was amazing! Will stay here again next year!

This place was great for the price. Very clean, comfy bed, nice appliances, powerful ac, close to the beach, easy parking. My only complaints are that the Wi-Fi is pretty slow, (also could have been the area) I'm not a cable person and I had trouble streaming videos on my laptop. A DVD player would have been nice too, (my laptop doesn't have a disc slot). Besides that, place was great and would come again!

Avon cottages is our home away from home. The moment we pull in I can feel the stress melt away. We have been coming to the outer banks for 19 summers stayed north for 15 of them and now I wouldn't want to stay any where else! Like I said. I'm home! See you next year Jason, Becky, Patrick, Hannah, Kylee, Lilly and Amiah…

We've been coming here for our annual week at sea level since 1987. The accommodations are modest and so are the prices, but the location cannot be beat. Houses are on the dune line with great ocean views and easy beach access. Shops, groceries, and attractions are nearby but not overwhelming. This is laid back at its best.
