The establishment is tucked away and very cozy and comfortable. The staff is amazingly polite and helpful. They go out of their way to help the guests and to make your stay pleasant. There is plenty of ice at the hotel and a nice vending area and work out area. The TVs are huge. Great place to stay for business or pleasure.

Old fashion motel which is very well maintained and very clean. It sits on top of a hill with excellent views of surrounding mountains and the sunset. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with lots of outdoor seating to gather with friends or sit alone and enjoy the sunset. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and make you feel at home. Outdoor pool is nice. I highly recommend this inn.

Overall experience is always good. We've stayed at this Best Western every June for many years. But this year, we had one day that wasn't so good. After a long day at a conference, we came back to find our door ajar! Beds were made, trash emptied… but no clean towels and our DOOR WAS OPEN! Thankfully, nothing of ours was missing, but it was still very disconcerting. We got an apology from the desk manager but the owner/manager of hotel never contacted us. We felt we should have had some sort of contact from upper management if for no other reason than to apologize for the mistake the housekeeper made. This review would've had 5 stars if that hadn't happened to us.

I had a very comfortable 2 night stay at the motel. It is in a lovely setting with a nice mountain view. Though it is the "older layout" and rooms open directly outside instead of to a central corridor, the motel has been kept as up to date as possible and is the nicest of all the motels I have stayed at in Waynesville and Maggie Valley (and I have stayed in several) Prices of rooms are about the same as other similar motels, but I prefer the location and quietness of this one.

We had a quick trip planned and the Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn fit the bill. We arrived late, but we were greeted in a friendly manner. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I was especially in need of Wi-Fi, and the connection was great. The bed was comfortable, and hit the spot after a long day on the road. The Great Smokey Mountain National Park is close at hand. The sunrise was a special treat, as was the chocolate chip cookie.

Wonderful staff. Very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with a great view. Convenient location to Blue Ridge Parkway.

We were pleased with our stay here. Room was clean. Air Conditioner worked great. Beds were comfortable. People were very pleasant and gracious. We will be back.

Wonderful little gem. Rooms and grounds were exceptionally clean. Beautiful spots to sit outside and enjoy the birds and views. Goody bag was a sweet welcome that made us feel more like friends. Staff were all full of smiles and good advice on local spots to visit. Watched sunrise over mountains from seating area out back. Wish the fire pit and pool was open just a little bit later but all was perfect for a relaxing stop for my husband and I. Enjoyed coffee and light breakfast at outside tables watching the variety of birds. Will definitely be back.

Great place. Clean room and smelled clean and fresh. Everyone is so nice. Many designated smoking area was something I never seen any other place. This is one unique definition that they keep the area clean and make it a high priority. Price was same as IHG and Marriott and service was as per. I will repeat every time I come to this area.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at in this area. Clean rooms, great amenities, MASSIVE TV in the room. Feels like home away from home. Great views too and close to essentials.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Smoky Mountains Best Western. All the staff that we encountered we very friendly and helpful. The room was great. Very clean and updated with a comfy bed, 55 inch flat screen TV, microwave and fridge. They also leave a welcome bag in the room with 2 bottles of water, cookies and microwave popcorn. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.

What makes this hotel so great is the people. Everyone was very friendly from the front desk to the maintenance man, housekeeping and food service staff. With every encounter we were asked if we were comfortable and was there anything we needed. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. Even the maintenance man asked if we were enjoying our stay and if he could do anything to improve it. My only critique of the hotel is that it is an older property with room layouts that I remember from being a kid. The newer hotels have a buffer (closet) between the beds and the bathroom that helps with noise. That said, the rooms smell fresh and there are many great updates to the property that let you enjoy the mountains around you, like a gas firepit just outside the lobby.

Pleasant clean basic stay with extra nice folks working. Comfy beds. Worth the slight premium over cheaper places. Nice views. Cute donkeys nearby.

We stopped here spur of the moment when our daughter got sick en route home for Christmas. The front desk lady was wonderful, helpful, and sympathetic to our needs. She even tried to find a 24 hour laundromat since we had soiled clothes and toys. When she couldn't find one, she provided us with soap to try to wash in the tub or sink. Very helpful, nice hotel!

Not the newest establishment in town but most likely the nicest people. Our wedding guests/family (almost 30 rooms) made this home for 3 days. The staff was remarkable. The rooms are remodeled and nicely appointed. The location is perfect — tucked away from the traffic, and yet an easy drive to the delights of Waynesville and surrounding area. If you are okay with it not being the Ritz, you'll enjoy your stay at this well cared-for, older hotel, being cared for by a five star team.

I don't understand the appeal. It's a dirty motel near the mountains, but their prices are dramatically higher than what they should be. You can get a hotel that is leagues better in Franklin or even Asheville. Staff isn't rude, but you just have to have thick skin because they come off as very abrasive or rude. That ruined the experience for me. Some people could care less. They expressed to me that they aren't interested in going the extra mile for their customers. As such, I'll never come back or stay at Best Western again.

Staff is phenomenal! So friendly and helpful that I booked again for Christmas holidays. Breakfast of oatmeal, cereal, pastries, waffles, coffee, juice, etc. Was good. Nice view. Close to downtown Waynesville.

Pros: Great price, good linens & furnishings, and breakfast is included. Plus, the view is incredible! Cons: Non-smoking room smelled like smoke (it's a motel…) & the towels could've been softer.

We really like this hotel. This was the third time we stayed here. The first time, we were told about the elk in cataloochee. It was awesome. We go every time we come here. The property is very well maintained. There are donkeys next door on another property. They are so cute! Clean rooms and friendly staff.

The Hotel is absolutely beautiful! Nestled in the Smokey Mountains off the Blue Ridge Parkway! There are outside tables and chairs for eating or whatever you like to do. Wooden Swings and rocking chairs everywhere so that you can enjoy the beautiful views! Each balconies have wooden rocking chairs. The lobby is warm and inviting! With TV warm and snuggly furniture! The lady behind the desk is very personable, friendly and can't wait to help you. This is all we can say as the price is well worth it, for us just to sleep overnight, we could not afford it. We did check online with all the travel sites. There were NO better deals available.

Very clean! Rates were higher than I would have liked, but my family needed to stay close to Asheville on short notice. Highly recommend! We will be staying here again if we are passing through. The staff was also very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was pretty good.

Staff very pleasant and helpful but rooms and facilities need to be cleaned better, including indoor pool which was also very cold. The pool wall above the waterline was very dirty. Chose hotel because it offered pool for grandchildren and I was worried about letting them swim. We have inground pool and could tell by smell that chlorine levels were not adequate (if you can smell strong chlorine, it's not adequate). Disconcerting. Would not stay here again. Beds were very comfortable though. Very nice view of mountain stream from balcony — relaxing sound of water tumbling by.

Definitely not worth what they charge. Front desk mgr. DEBRA was rude. Got out of shower to find a brown recluse spider as big as a tarantula crawling up the wall, several other bugs were seen in the room. I was told by Ms. Debra, oh well that's mountain life. Well, this is a Best Western hotel not a a cabin in the mountains! Would not recommend this place for what they charge. One star is generous.

Stayed at this Hotel and thought it was wonderful. I enjoyed my stay, the room and the service. The fire pit was a nice touch because it was cool night. I will be staying here again.

Very clean and friendly staff. Continental breakfast was out if this world. Pancakes, waffles, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, anything you could think of. Bed slept great nice roomy shower. Loved everything about it would definitely stay here again.

I picked this place for the mountains views. Our host Amber was warm and friendly! Nice breakfast. Nice rooms. Very quiet!

We just did an overnight while visiting family but have to say it was great. Both night and morning desk clerks were friendly and speedy. Room was clean, and they provided water, cookies and popcorn. Nice touch was dark washcloth to remove makeup, I always feel bad when provided with white. Towels were soft and absorbant. Rocking chairs outside. Only complaints were it would have been nice to have extra blanket available in the room as bedding was thin and breakfast area is very small and cramped.

Very nice 3 star hotel! Beds are very comfy and the staff are friendly. The view if you are facing South is breathtaking. Very clean. Continental breakfast, not complementary (only bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and a waffle maker, plus cooler beverages and yogurts) I have one minor complaint, the ac unit is temperamental. We ended up sweating overnight because the unit wouldn't blow at the correct setting. July can get hot sometimes in NC, so a working ac is a must.

It's a Best Western, not a fancy hotel, but this particular one is nice for what it is. The rate was fair, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, there is a small swimming pool, free Wi-Fi ice and breakfast. The hotel is located up a hill and has really nice views of the surrounding mountains and there are benches outside the rooms to sit on and relax. So why only 4 stars? It is located by a freeway, which may bother some people because of the road noise. The views are nice, but there are tall street lights and other things that kind of distract from the view. The breakfast was bagels, muffins, cereal, and waffles, etc. I would have really liked some eggs, sausage, or bacon.

Fair rates for what you get… total paid was 133.19. (Weekend last minute) Clean large room with king size bed that was very comfortable firm yet soft to lay on. Apartment size fridge and freezer with microwave. Large flat screen TV with great picture and we forgot our wall chargers for our cell phones but behind the T. V stand was USB plugs… awesome they thought of everything shower had a rain head with adjustable settings… all in all awesome place with a great staff will be staying again.

I was so happy with the service last night Kaye was extremely helpful and offering Us directions we will definitely stay here again.

I'm a 6'6" guy and that is exactly what the hight of the showers are. That's pretty specific to taller people so other than that great place.

Very nice staff, but next to highway and very noisy. Room service was beating on my door at 9am while I'm trying to get out of the shower. I was 1ft away from the door telling them to hang on and they tried coming in anyways. Really pissed me off but other than that it was a comfortable stay. Nice 50-inch TV definitely helped.

This is one of the best stays in a hotel that I've ever experienced. The staff was wonderful and I really felt the southern hospitality. Location was nice, although close to the highway, there wasn't much traffic noise, which is good. The room was clean and we even had a little goody bag waiting for us that included 2 bottles of water, a bag of popcorn and a package of Grandma's Chocolate Chip Cookies. The bed was comfortable and clean. The only improvement I have to suggest would be to get slightly bigger televisions in the rooms and/or mount them to the wall. Will definitely stay again and definitely recommend to others. Great stay!

We are staying here for the second time in a month. It's a great little hotel with an incredible view! The staff was friendly and went out of their way for us! We have a 3 year old who badly needed a nap. We arrived before check-in and needed to get into a room ASAP. They found an open room and changed the reservation so fast (it also ended up being $20 cheaper for some reason). We got to have our nap and all was well! Our room was also absolutely immaculate! I don't think I have ever stayed in such a clean hotel room! The remote was even cleaned and wrapped up! Great breakfast! Fantastic prices! Highly recommend! You can zip right into Waynesville, which we love.

My daughter stayed with our church youth group while visiting Gatlinburg and like many 13 year olds carelessly left her jewelry in the bathroom on the counter. Of course when we called and talked to Karen, she wasn't as interested in helping us with this matter as I desired. The ring was for my daughter we adopted 13 years ago from South America and we had it custom made with engraving inside celebrating her 13th birthday. I would recommend that anyone traveling be careful and responsible while visiting this hotel.

Clean, functional, quiet room. You won't impress anybody with it but you won't disappoint them either. It's an older motel but it's run by people that obviously work at making it a nice place. It's close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and that's the reason I chose it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone just looking for a place to stay overnight. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Given what I thought I knew about BWs, I am totally excited about this location. Great price (especially relative to what we ran into at other places in the area, e. G. Super 8), very clean, extremely comfortable, easy and reliable staff interactions, breakfast was nice, the pool is lovely, and the presentation! Oh my! Amongst the mountains and lovely landscaping make this place a certainty for a re-stay, if we ever need a place in this area again.

This is a clean, serviceable Best Western with a terrific Continental breakfast and a helpful, friendly, outgoing staff. There is, however, a problem with the site design. The driveway does NOT wrap the building. For travelers hauling RVs, boats, trailers, etc. This is a huge problem. The trailer parking lot is on the no-outlet upper level. Once your tow vehicle and trailer are up there, GOOD LUCK getting out — — especially if four-wheelers occupy parking places outside the rooms. There is virtually ZERO maneuvering space for turning a rig around. Plan on doing a lot of backing up around a blind, downhill curve to exit the property. PS — — if you're here with a two-wheeler, take Highway 209 to Hot Springs. The 2-lane stretch is called The Rattler — — nearly equal to the Dragon. Hot Springs is a great place to lunch. See ya.
