This is our second time at the Mirror lake inn. Just an amazing place to stay. Great service, views, atmosphere and value in my opinion. First time we stayed in the Colden Suite and this time is the Adirondack Cathedral suite and love both of them.

I absolutely adored staying at Mirror Lake Inn during my recent winter trip to Lake Placid. It was beautiful, cozy and conveniently located. The Inn has great restaurants, a fire pit, complimentary chocolate chip cookies in the lobby, great fire places to warm up to, an awesome spa and indoor pool! I also liked how close the hotel was to all of the winter Olympic facilities, including Whiteface Mountain as well as restaurants and shops In town!

We’ve been coming to MLI for 18 years. It is the most wonderful, beautiful place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Lisa and Ed are hands on owners who really care about every detail. The food and amenities are all top notch. It is truly one of the finest establishments in the world.

Very friendly staff, beautiful views rooms and lovely property! The bartender Grand father was a local hero of sorts and competed in the Olympics for bobsledding!

Highly recommend this Resort. The staff are fabulous and so very attentive. It is very clean and there is hand sanitizer everywhere. All staff wear masks and most resort guests do too. The views are impeccable. We had such a relaxing 5 days here.

Iconic Lake Placid hotel. More than just a hotel but the ❤️ of Lake Placid.

Can’t give the best review of the hotel itself as we did not stay there, but the lobby was quaint and beautiful but we did eat there for dinner at The View Restaurant which was outstanding. Everything was deliciously tasty and the service was outstanding. Most impressive was that our paper menus had our last name at the top as if it was specially printed for us! We were there in the Eve so the lighting was perfect and the view spectacular. Definitely a 5* recommendation!

First of all during these trying times MLI is very dedicated on being proactive on having a safe and healthy stay. There procedures and protocols are spot on for your safety. You can't deny the million dollar views, fabulous food, and amenities. Family friendly atmosphere. A variety of rooms that will suit your needs. A very helpful concierge and staff that will go out of there way to accommodate your requests

Amazing beautiful gardens beaches food rooms and swimming.

Restaurant limited now but beautiful as always and wonderful staff. Everyone very careful about masks and cleanliness. Love it as always!

We absolutely loved it here! Walking distance to mostly everything… clean… adorable! The Cottage across the street was a perfect little gem, we loved sitting outside by the fire enjoying cocktails! Our only disappointment was the lake wasn’t shoveled for skating, hopefully our next visit we will be able to enjoy that as well!

We came for two nights, tonight is our 5th night! We don’t want to leave! The accommodations are beautiful, the staff is TOP OF THE LINE! Friendly, helpful, constantly asking if we need anything. And if you do? It’s there before you know it! From electric tea kettle to cups, glasses, lip balm! The view from our room is spectacular, two comfy chairs looking out, honestly you can just stay in your room BUT then you’d miss the over relaxing couches and seats in the many areas in the lobby! I can go on and on but the fact we don’t want to leave speaks for itself!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Great Range, and oh boy was it great indeed! We had a full panoramic view of the lake and mountains, which was especially beautiful in the snow. The lights were decorated so beautifully on the trees, which gave a Christmas village vibe. The room was spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back next year and would recommend to anyone!

Spectacular service, accomodations, and surprises around every turn while celebrating our silver anniversary! Spa ammenities were amazing, while the food was oh so fresh. And the view… I could go on, but I'll just go back instead!

We have been to Mirror Lake Inn (MLI) many, many times since 1980 and have nothing but good things to say about this wonderful place. The rooms and suites are beautiful, large and comfortable. The spa is beautiful and very well appointed. The food scene is outstanding, whether you want fine dining, bistro type fare or a simple lunch by the lake you are sure to be happy with your choice.
The atmosphere throughout MLI is calming, beautiful and, elegant without being stuffy. But the best part is the staff (AKA the MLI family) who go out of their way to make sure that your experience at the Inn is perfect and memorable… as it has been for us every time we have visited. ❤️

We turn to MLI whenever we want a weekend getaway and we always return relaxed and refreshed. Do yourself a favor and book a night or two at Mirror Lake Inn — you’ll be happy you did!

We recently visited for a Girls getaway and from the moment we checked in through our check out, the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and attentive to our needs for special requests for our room. The resort is beautiful and elegant. Had night cap coffees at The Cottage on our walk back from downtown escapades. We enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast at The View Restaurant with wait staff who were terrific! I cannot wait to go back to enjoy the pools, spend time in the Library enjoying the afternoon tea service and fireplaces, and take to advantage of the spa services offered. My new favorite location at my favorite vacation destination.

We had a wonderful stay on our Christmas break! Our room was cozy, and it had a perfect view of the lake and mountains. The Inn’s restaurants were delicious and the service was amazing. And we love how there are so many activities on the property, and that the Main Street shops and Olympic venues were just a quick walk down the street. We will be back!

I've twice held a work meeting here, with a small group, including an overnight stay. The rooms are wonderful — you get a fantastic view and ambiance. It'd be a great place to go back to as a little romantic getaway. They had nice little touches like a cracker & cheese plates in the rooms for VIPs. The lunch was delicious, especially the soup (pumpkin or sweet potato). The conference room was a good size for a group of about a dozen, with the fires going throughout the day. Even with all the rustic appearance it had everything we needed for presentations and connecting to laptops. When we had an issue connecting Drew was right on hand to help resolve right away. Great experience.

I was very happy with my stay at Mirror Lake Inn. The location was great. The lake side beach was terrific. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very good. The cookies at the desk were delicious. We were very happy.

View at Mirror Lake is a very special dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful inside, with spectacular views. We were a party of four and were looking forward to culinary delights and great conversation. We ordered drinks, I highly recommend asking for an aviation (not aviator) if you like beautiful purple fin drinks, otherwise the pomegranate martini was perfect. We asked for more time between the cocktails and ordering, and our waiters obliged, giving us plenty of time to enjoy our evening. The food could not have tasted better! We had two chef specials in between courses. A spoon with a delicious mushroom with broth a pea sprout and truly the most delicious sorbet I have ever eaten between the first and second plates. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection! The single scallop appetizer and the crab cake were my favorite. I do not mind paying for an extraordinary meal. View is a five star restaurant for sure. However, portion size for the scallop and crab cake was very very small, and $19 for a single scallop, although prepared perfectly, is unreasonable. I highly recommend View for very special occasions, but expect to spend $200 for a couple.

Mirror Lake Inn has very nice accommodations. Our room was spotless, spacious and well maintained. We were quite pleased with our room. The decor throughout the facility tastefully reflected Adirondack settings. The Inn has a comprehensive set of services available, to include dining, spa, gym and salons. Our room package included breakfast. We were impressed with both the choices and the meal. The breakfasts were superb, well prepared and presented by courteous, friendly, attentive staff. We also had a nice dinner at The Cottage. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. I am retired, but my former job required extensive overnight travel. The foregoing observations are made with 30 years experience from a wide variety of accommodations. We enjoyed our first stay at the Mirror Lake Inn and plan to return in the future.

We’re here to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. There was a note in our room wishing us a Happy Anniversary as well as a bottle of champagne when we arrived! Our room Is absolutely beautiful with a kingsize sleigh bed and lovely sitting area as well as a humongous tub with jets! The food is awesome! Beautiful mountain and lake views! Yes, yes… come here… it’s really special!

The only place to stay in Lake Placid! Family friendly, so much to do both on and off the premises, great food at the View, Bistro and cottage. The staff is welcoming and I can't forget the daily homemade chocolate chip cookies! They are to beyond delicious!

Had absolute the most splendid weekend possible in Lake Placid, thanks to my stay at Mirror Lake Inn. From the historic charm to the delicious food and warm family ambiance, I couldn't have imagined a better escape from the city. The spa was absolutely delightful and truly felt like an oasis. The staff were top notch always helping and even offering scrumptious chocolate chip cookies throughout the day. Highly recommend booking a stay or two as this truly a gem!

We lived it! It has amazing facilities. It was clean, indoor pool is really big and nice. It had its own private beach and paddle boats for guests to use.

I went to Mirror Lake Inn for the spa. It was amazing. Got a pedicure and a manicure. They did an amazing job and everyone was super friendly. As we entered the premises we were greeted by a warming atmosphere and smiling faces to direct us to the spa. We were offered complimentary drinks (the first one is free) and the mimosa was delicious. During the pedicure you are able to select from three scents for the body scrubs which was a nice touch. The tools they use are disposable as well for those germaphobes out there (loved that. ) Additionally during the manicure they clean your rings for you, which was a nice bonus.

Great stay. The hotel is very well put together and has tasteful antique decor. All three of their restaurants are seem very nice. We only ate in the bistro/bar and we had a nice three course meal. The view from our room was excellent, with a perfect view of the mirror lake.

This place is idyllic and picturesque, like out of a movie. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Great service and food.

This is our 16th year visiting Mirror Lake Inn and its just as beautiful as our first visit. Staff are gracious and professional and the food at The View, Bistro, and The Cottage is amazing. The Spa at MLI is indeed the best spa I have ever experienced. I live approx 2 hours from Lake Placid and have driven to MLI just for a massage! I would recommend anyone looking for a fantastic getaway to visit MLI!

We stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn for 3 nights. Overall great experience as the staff made us feel welcome. The room was large with a nice view of the lake and mountains. The restaurants on site were good with The View (more formal) and The Cottage (casual) being the best choices.

My brother got married here last weekend and it was first class all the way. The food was amazing the rooms were clean the views were awesome. The service was fantastic!

The best Spa I've ever been to. Every detail of this was an amazing experience. You get your own locker, robe, sandals and the enjoyment of hot tubs, steam room, pool area, parlor and dry sauna. The staff were top notch, always replenishing the accommodations and extremely kind and helpful! Very much worth the money.

Pricey place but very nice. Our room had a great view of the lake. Frozen when we where here during the winter. I can imagine it being a great view all year long. We didn't use any of the restaurants but did use the spa for massages. Most expensive massage I have ever had by quite a few dollars. The massage was average but the spa and pool area are very nice. Great for a winter swim. The Lobbies were also very well decorated and staff was very friendly. Would recommend if you can stomach the prices.

Inconsistent spa quality. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I had a deep tissue massage done by Sandy yesterday and there was nothing deep tissue about it. Very disappointed, especially since they charge a premium over the classic for it. That said, I have had good massages there in the past and their eucalyptus steam room is great!

Amazing spa, everyone is very accommodating and will go out of their way to make your visit the best possible!

We have been to Lake Placid many times and have always wanted to stay here. For our honeymoon we decide to stay here and we could not have been more happy. Our room over looked the lake and had a great view of the high peaks. They had chocolates and a nice letter in our room before we got there. Everyone that worked there were helpful and always nice. The lobby and is gorgeous along with every other room at the hotel. The attention to detail in every aspect is evident. The price is high per night but you get what you pay for. Its an amazing place that we will defiantly stay at again.

We have dined Mirror Lake Inn several times and each time has been wonderful. The food is delicious and the staff is top notch. Call for reservations rather than use the website… the staff will work with you to get a table. Top notch all around.

Total Adirondack Charm, amazing pool and spa. There is nothing better than breakfast on the porch. Great bar with views of Mirror Lake and the High Peaks, all the grounds are immaculate. The staff is always super happy because its so great just being there.

Great location with easy access to downtown. Recreation on site includes a small beach, dock and pool. On site meals are reasonable and reasonably priced.

Mirror Lake Inn is really good the rooms are cool the pool and Lake have amazing activities that you can do and the fishing dog has a lot of fish around it. I love this pace!

Had a fabulous dinner at the View tonight. The food was over the top. Only the freshest ingredients, and it really showed. From the lobster appetizer to the blueberry dessert, and everything in between, it was all perfectly prepared. The presentation was wonderful and the wait staff the best… Attentive, but not intrusive. Our waitress, Siena was a wonderful lady, so helpful and professional. Her care made our evening perfect.

The Mirror Lake Inn has been a staple in my household for many, many years. They continually improve their services and have a stellar staff. The pool and spa area is fantastic, there's a wonderful selection of free boats to rent for the lake, and plenty of quiet areas in the hotel to settle in with a book. Lake Placid wouldn't be the same without this hotel.

Our stay this year was just as good as last year. This year we didn't get a suite but a room with a better view and we believe it was the right move. I will say the fireplace was missed as was the sauna. The personal that work here are "exceptional". From the time you arrive till you checkout they are all very friendly and helpful. Every employee you ran into greeted you with a smile and good morning/afternoon or evening. The Inn was again this year decorated in the great taste and reminding you you it is a great time of the year. Put this on your to do list and you will see how nice the Inn is. I will admit you will spend more money than if you stayed someplace else. We are hoping to return again next Christmas.

We have been coming here for 20 years and it is still one of the best places for a romantic meal. Christmas 2016 and our meal was supurb! Thanks to Ben our server who was cheerful and attentive throughout the whole service. Ordered the prime rib and ham dinners-did not disappoint. The hotel looked lovely decorated for the holidays!

My girlfriend surprised me with a getaway to the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa and I had the most amazing time. The room was lovely, we had a gorgeous view of Lake Placid. We built a snowman using the complementary snowman kit provided by the Front Desk and used the jacuzzi after a day of playing in the snow. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway to a snowy scene.

Views are great and staff is very friendly. Will definitely come back. Not sure if we will use the spa again though. Dinner at the view was also great, and would dine there again!

This place is fantastic! Everything from their polite and kind staff to their wonderful accommodations. Every member of the staff went out of their way to say 'hello', and our housekeeper, Linda, was tremendous. There's nothing like going out to the dock in the morning and admiring Mirror Lake. What makes it even better is that, for free when staying here, you can take canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and pedal boats out on the lake! This was amazing and so much fun. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was unbelievable, and cannot be forgotten. The aroma of pine filling the lobby and halls, and the rustic, woodsy theme of the many living room areas in the lobby. Mirror Lake Inn is a one-of-a-kind hotel, and I strongly insist that you make your vacation there. It's hard to beat!

We went to the restaurant Taste Bistro in the lobby and it was absolutely incredible. First of all, they have two bottles of oil and vinegar from Saratoga Oil Company on the table that they serve with crusty bread. I could have walked out of there happy with just that! After dinner we walked to Saratoga Oil Co down the street and bought a couple bottles for ourselves. Second, the view of the lake while we ate was so serene. How do you beat views of Mirror Lake and the Adirondacks while you eat? You don't. Thirdly, the food was incredible! Get the pot roast. Trust me. So good! I ended up asking for an additional basket of bread because I couldn't let the au jus go to waste after I finishing everything else. It was THAT delicious. Definitely eat here, it's beautiful and the food is delicious! If I go back to Lake Placid I would certainly consider staying here just for Taste Bistro.

Went to The Cottage. Menu has changed and it feels more hotely than homey now. Also, the service was slow this time.

It's an expensive hotel, but the best place to stay in Lake Placid. It's fairly impeccably maintained, with decor stately or charming, depending on the room. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but my favorite places in the Inn are outside the hotel room. There are many amenities and I particularly enjoy the pools, the living room, the porches, and the library. It's not a connected, business hotel (there is Wi-Fi and you can pay to send a fax), but that's really OK by me. You go here to get away and relax. Most hotels don't have a place to read, brood, or take in the view like you can at the Inn. What distinguishes this resort from any nicely-appointed hotel is the quality of service and welcome you get from the staff, who say hello in passing and remain unfailing polite and attentive.

This is my second year in a row staying at the Mirror Lake Inn and unfortunately will be my last. The place is nicely decorated and close to everything which is a plus. In my opinion, the breakfast was a bit expensive… there are many other places in town for breakfast that are cheaper. Parking is a bit of a pain in the neck… 2X on my first stay I could not find a spot in my assigned lot… luckily, there were other spots nearby… keep in mind I went in a very busy time of year. The desk service was ok… I also found the maid service about average compared to other places I vacationed. The nicely appointed lobby rooms were cold… it was freezing outside during my stay, so that could have contributed to the coldness inside… cookies were delicious. I can tell you this… whatever you do be aware of the shuttle bus service. Twice it was off schedule… My wife and I were waiting almost 30 minutes in the bitter cold outside the Mirror Lake Inn, sub freezing temperatures, by the curb where the bus stops. During my stay, I asked the desk to call a cab and was quoted 20/dollars… when the cab dropped us at the mountain, the price changed to 25/dollars… On 2 trips the shuttle felt like it had no heat. A young woman, with a young child and my wife and I were on the bus… we were subjected to freezing temperatures on the shuttle. I did email management.

This review is about the Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn. While the food is always average, the service is generally bad. From the hostess who cannot see beyond the front group waiting for an outside table while a line of customers would be satisfied with one of the many free tables inside, to the clean up of dirty tables that is done by the same hostess instead of the waiting staff, to the slow moves of the wait staff, to the chronically undersized kitchen staff generating long wait time, the only quality is its view of Mirror Lake framed by the beautiful mountains. Yes you can improve if you decide to manage the Cottage.

Really nice resort, very quaint and unique — old world in many ways. Was here during winter for a management offsite. Got caught in a snow-storm. But the hotels really warm and cosy. Great stay…

My daughter, three young children and I stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn during the last few days in August. We have been returning guests for the past several years. We stayed in the new "Lookout" rooms that were perfect for our family. I am always impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms, especially the beds. My favorite time is going to the beach with the kids (swimming, kayaking and having lunch from the Cottage). As my daughter got the kids settled, I would go to the Bistro to pick up dinner. Having a glass of wine at the bar was a nice end to the evening.

To recommend best address. The Service is awesome.
