Review of New York Marriott Marquis 4*

Had a great time this past weekend (7/24 — 7/26/2015). Very large convention hotel. The romance book writer's convention was in town when I was there. Very friendly group! 'Had a great time interacting with them. Great hotel in the middle of Times Square. Be mindful, the hotel is very big. The lobby is on the 8th floor and the elevators can be slow to arrive and crowded at times. But, once you're on the elevator, your trip is very quick. The transportation guys out front are very friendly and resourceful. I had 5 people in my group and needed to get roundtrip car service very quickly for a trip to the upper west side. I got a driver within 5 minutes at a reasonable price. Thanks for saving the day guys! The hotel has a restaurant/bar/lounge which great overlook views of Broadway. The staff is friendly, but was very very busy the night I was there (due to it being saturday and a convention in the hotel). The View restaurant on the 48th floor is a revolving restaurant with great views of the city. You can't see Broadway from there (you're to high up), but you'll definitely see the skyline. Ask for Pete as your waiter — friendliest waiter I've ever met in NY. That's for the great service Pete! Prices at both restaurants were surprisingly reasonable. Pros: friendly transportation, housekeeping and restaurant wait staff (especially for NY) ; location/location/location; Times Square views can't be beat; reasonable dining prices; great "Broadway" lounge for conversation, drinks, dining, views Cons: crowded elevators.
