People need to be careful coming here because somebody is stealing people money when they use banking information. All week I am still disputing a $418 transaction that put me in the negative of $257 that no one seems to have an explanation for not have anyone offered to refund me. There were no fees or extra charges yet no one can explain to me why Aloft charged me $418, taking all the money I have left in my account. I basically got robbed after making a complaint about a guy posing as security to check my room to see if I was smoking after I had already left my room, while my female partner was asleep. Btw I am a non cigarette smoker. So what was the reason for security REALLY going into my room for? Then as soon as I check out I go through fraud 🤔 I have yet to receive a response nor a refund because no one have answers nor want to be responsible for someone else’s negligence. Please be careful going here. Pay cash. Dont use your bank or debit or credit card to book your room. Your money will get stolen. The first photo of $429 is the correct price that I paid from April 9th — April 11th. The $418 is an unauthorized transaction. From the way this is looking and how the Aloft refuses to refund me back my money, I may never get my money back. Which mean I owe my bank which mean I will be forced to be behind on my bills because of the Aloft failure and negligence to settle this dispute.

It is very intimate… A nice place to go on a date.

The hotel is really lovely and I would definitely stay here again. The staff are ok but the bar tender who served us last night was amazing. She was just a pleasure to talk to. But their Wi-Fi is totally useless.

Overall a great experience staying here. Amenities were nice and the room was very comfortable. Would stay again, but the price was a little higher than expected for the accommodations.

Great place. Homey but customer service needs to improve by staffing more people. Front desk girl is by herself to handle a bunch of customers, not fair to her but bad service for customers.

Clean and comfortable. On second visit not so much… while I realize hotels get old as the years go by, I still think the basic upkeep will do. It's apparent that's not being done. The room wreaked of mildew and only got worse with each day. The elevators worked intermittently and the front desk staff was hardly helpful.

Very good stay, Isabella at the front desk was wonderful. I had some things that was not right in my room and she rectified everything which brought comfort to my stay. Thanks Isabella & Chris. At the Aloft in Harlem they helped, kept me calm & informed.

The place is located in the Harlem area. There's a subway nearby. The hotel is new, the service at the height, cleaned the room every day. One of the downsides is the skimpy breakfast. There are many shops of very fashionable and stylish clothes near the hotel! Stock up on bucks:) ) ) )

Nicely designed, close to home to have guests. The woman on the desk was spending too much time with one customer, while I waited to be checked in. She was the only one on the desk at the time. Otherwise, it serves its purpose as clean and comfortable Aloft. I have enjoyed the one in Philly where workers were more attentive equally to each visitor. I would still refer others to use this hotel. Just tell that gal to do her splurge talkin g later. It is near a lovely tea space called Serengeti Teas. Please excuse if misspelled.

Loved the chicness of the place. The room was just right. I wish smokers were not allowed to smoke near entrance. Had to hold my breath upon entry and exit.

Perfect location. Walking distance to the subway and all that 125th has to offer. Nice bar and lounge. Rooms are nice. Great bang for your buck!

Great time. The Startender (awesome bar tender) rocked. Had a fun time hanging out at the bar and meeting some fun people. The staff was so on point. Room can use a facelift but I will be back.

It's a nice place staff are great. But had a little problem when was trying to extend my stay. Had to go through long process whiles I couldn't get into my room. Security is one of the best I have come across so far. I do recommend this hotel. But make sure you top up before you run out.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting a conference nearby. The hotel is a short walk to the subway, which worked for me since I was coming in via Amtrak. The hotel is nicely decorated. However, the bed was a little uncomfortable to me. The staff was very friendlt and helpful. The staff member who greeted me let me know about a few food options nearby who offered discounts to the hotels guest. The hotel has a nice bar that offered small plates after 5pm. It was a little expensive but they offered daily drink specials. Overall, I liked my stay at this hotel. If you are planning on doing some exploring in the Harlem neighborhood then this is a good choice.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience I have ever had! … I made a reservation for a double a day prior to flying to JFK from Portland, OR. I asked in advance if I would be able to get the room early in the morning being that my flight arrives at 5:30 am. The woman on the phone had let me know that usually they do not allow check in until 3pm but being That my flight time was beyond my control that she would make an acception and allow me and my 6 year old daughter to check in at 7am. The morning of my arrival, I called the Hotel to confirm that I was going to be on my way, this time a man answered the phone and told me (very rudely) that I cannot check in until 3pm. I explained to him that I had already been told that I can check in at 7am and he rudely interrupted me and told me that he doesn't know who told me that but that information was false and that I can wait in the lobby until 3pm. I then asked to speak to a manager and he said that he is the manager, then said he doesn't know what to tell me and hung up the phone on me. I called back and asked him why he hung up and he said that he did not hang up on he but once again said very ruled that he doesn't know what to tell me but that I cannot check in until 3. My mother then called and complained and he told her that there were absolutely no rooms available at the moment.

This was my first time staying Aloft in Harlem, New York. It was recommended by one of my nieces who had stayed at Aloft while stationed in Guam a few years again. During my next visit to New York I shall most likely stay here again. You also have local buses & trains, taxi's in the area. The staff was friendly. They also have a nice Lounge area they have happy hour a couple of times a week. You can also have an ala carte breakfast.

Nice, clean rooms. Nothing extravagant, the beds are very comfortable. Staff are friendly, no continental breakfast, cheaper to walk down street to eat. Many restaurants in area in walking distance.

The rooms are decent, not top shelf, but decent. The entire hotel has the vibe of a European hostel. The gym is fairly poor condition. It is in the bottom floor and has a very limited amount of equipment. I ended up going to another gym nearby. Planet Fitness, about a block-and-a-half away. The staff is very friendly and willing to help if asked. I've stayed at this hotel on four separate occasions for work. There are are no decent views. Most look at either an Alleyway or a plain apartment building across the street.

The hotel is practical and functional. Don't expect much from the facilities. Friendly staff.

I stayed at Aloft Harlem for two nights and really liked it. The decor was nice and rooms were clean and comfortable, though our in room safe didn't work. Rooms have their own thermostat setting, but the fan was a bit loud (but kept us warm and dry in the days leading up to the snowstorm). Plenty of food and entertainment nearby with the Magic Johnson theater across the street and Apollo theater up two blocks. Staff was friendly and parking was not difficult to find nearby (1-3 blocks). Would stay there again!

Very spacious rooms with very good finish. In an acceptable location. The cost-benefit ratio is very good.

I had a problem with a reservation at this hotel. In Bookin not let me comment since the reservation was cancelled.
When I was traveling to new York, thanks to the Delta Wi-Fi I got an email from booking telling me that this hotel cancelled my reservation due to "Overbooking".
So I don't recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed the experience at this Aloft hotel. The room was trendy and comfortable, the staff was helpful and the attached bar was a good place to unwind.

I've been here before for social reasons. The place as a whole has a cool vibe… This was my first time staying overnight and I was a little disappointed. The spacing of stuff wasn't great in the room. The light set up was also a little weird. And the towels were more comfortable then the sheets.

Good rooms for a good price. Has fridge and free bottled water. Also near really good food of Harlem and the Apollo/movie theater.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a very nice part of town. Rooms are small but clean, comfortable and well decorated. Nice little bar with some nice selections. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

Nice staff room is well laid out. A few cosmetic things have been overlooked but not detrimental to my stay.

Beautiful large room, friendly staff, late check out and WASN'T disturbed (most other hotels never communicate with housekeeping and they come knocking when you are trying to get your Zzzz). Cute bar with billards and seating area, business center. 2 blocks from the subway… I definitely would stay there again!

This hotel is comfortable, well-appointed, staffed by friendly, young folk, and has a convenient to-go food and drink area and bar. It is convenient for all the metropolitan lines in the area. It is pretty good value too.

The Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting; the temp control unit was incredibly loud, and the blinds didn't block out all the light. Of the 4 different Aloft hotels I've stayed at, this one was far and away the worst quality — what's the point of a coffee maker in the room if the only cup your provide is disposable plastic?

It is a very good hotel, there are good restaurants near by for breakfast and dinner. There are also a deli close to it where you can buy some snacks for the day. The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful and welcoming.

Room was perfectly suitable during my 3 night stay. Hotel staff provided clean sheets and towels every day and we're knowledgeable about nearby dining spots.

The hotel it self is nice and average. The staff is very nice and professional. The outside of the hotel is lower class area.

Bar scene is decent for a change of pace location. Space is a bit tight but enjoyable.

I am a proud Harlem Native, so when I brought a group pf kids that I work with to NY anf heard there was an Aloft in Harlem, it was no queation where we were staying. The experience was the best! The 4pm — 12 (they know who the are) staff was the best. They were so accomadating and engaging. I thought the "New Harlem" would rub me the wrong way, but they made me feel right at home.

Beautiful hotel with chic rooms. Alofts are always great, but having this one in Harlem is especially nice. Great check-in staff, nice sitting area and bar, and of course beautiful rooms. Will stay here every time I am visiting my daughter.

I loved this hotel located right in the heart of Harlem. Everything was within walking distance. The staff was amazing! It's a great place to stay.

Very nice hotel only 10 minutes from the Columbia campus. Room prices are competitive with decent uptown/NJ hotels. Parking is expensive but you don't really need to bring your car if you're staying in the Harlem area.

Ok… the room is smallish, but it is clean as heck and they really put a lot of stuff in a small space. Very pleased with this hotel. Staff is really nice. Found a parking space on the same block which doesn't happen in Manhattan. The hotel is right next to a Police precinct as well.

I absolutely love the Hotel Giraffe. I've stayed there at least 10 times and like it more each time. The rooms are generous in size for NYC and beautifully maintained. I really love the complimentary breakfast and happy hour… really well done. And the staff is always willing to help. I highly recommend this place!

This would be a five-star review if I considered nearly everything about this hotel. Service is super-friendly. The rooms are well-designed, fairly quiet, and crammed with tech features. The bar is awesome and offers great munchies/happy hour specials. It's in a killer location close to tons of restaurants, shopping and a Metro station. The ONE issue that makes me take away three whole stars after at least six or seven great stays? The beds, the pillows and the linens are **awful**. The mattresses are hard and feel like the cheapest IKEA mattress sold. The pillows are either completely flat or filled with the most unyielding foam ever made. And the bedsheets feel almost identical to what I've experienced on gurneys in emergency rooms and hospital beds. Every time we stay here, my work colleague requests five or six extra pillows to put on top of his mattress so the bed will be semi-tolerable. I've started packing my own pillow from home, and I've considered buying a thin air mattress to use when I stay here. In short: Awesome hotel, awesome location, awesome amenities and awesome service are all nearly ruined by god-awful beds.

I would have given 5 stars, but my air conditioner was barely able to keep the room cool. Martha Ramirez, Front Desk Supervisor, did the best she could to resolve it. She offered to move me once a room became available. It worked out fine, since I was working and not in my room during the day. I was quite comfortable during the night. Ms. Ramirez was very friendly and courteous. She generously gave me a coupon for breakfast, and 2 free drinks at the nicely appointed bar. I only had time to use one drink coupon. But I enjoyed it! Breakfast was excellently served up hot and fresh. I really enjoyed my stay at the Aloft Harlem. I felt welcome by the staff and really enjoyed the décor.

A friend & I called to make a reservation a week in advance for a Friday night, on a holiday weekend and they were nothing but accommodating! Parking on the street was a little trick you, had to drive around a couple of times but we got there & then they gave us a 10% discount when we showed them the yelp app installed on our phone! The room itself was small but very clean and presentable. Shared bath/toilet with the whole second floor but still, very clean. The breakfast is served in the sweetest little kitchen area with beautiful bay windows, go to breakfast early so you can watch the sunrise ;) Overall, so pleased with our stay! I will be staying here again!

I was booking rooms at this hotel for family members to stay for a funeral. I was unsure of the number of rooms I needed but they told me I had until midnight Friday to cancel and make any changes. I called on the Friday to make changes as some family members were unable to attend. They told me that the cancellation deadline was 6pm and I was misquoted and that they could not refund me for the rooms I no longer needed. If some one on staff misquoted me the deadline time that is their error not mine. They refused to refund me the money for the extra room I no longer needed. I'll never stay here again. Over priced for what you get and the staff is terrible.

What a wonderful hotel! Only gripe is that valet took a little while to park our car. The amenities are gorgeous, comfy, and clean. Love the modern look, and (gasp) the TV actually works! (That's a pet peeve of mine) I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for anyone visiting the Apollo Theater.

It's in Harlem and I don't have to go downtown to stay in a quality hotel, with great facilities, clean rooms, and an outstanding and courteous staff. Keep on doing what you're doing what and I'll be back shortly. And thanks for making our 39th Wedding Anniversary an enjoyable one.

The staff at Aloft Harlem was so friendly and helpful. I had a bit of an emergency situation and Jeanay and the rest of the Aloft Harlem crew did everything they could to accommodate me and my family. The rooms are gorgeous and the lobby is the definition of chill. We also found decent street parking and lots of good spots that delivered yummy food. Best hotel in Harlem.

If you want a Times Square looking hotel lounge for a quick business meeting, this place hits the spot. Atmosphere is great in a clean, airy, futuristic kind of way, not conductive to romantic nights out, but good for a social engagement of some sort of a gathering point before heading out for dinner. They have cool live jazz there on some weeknights, the drinks at the bar are nothing to write home about, but the beer draft is nice and chilly.

I came here to the bar area to watch one of the Presidential debates in 2012 and it was terrible. I could not hear a thing. One of the bartenders invited her whole family out to celebrate someone's birthday and they were way to loud and obnoxious. THey brought out cupcakes with candles during the middle of the debate and even had a champagne toast. No one ever told them to keep it down or to be considerate to the people who actually came to watch the debate. Also they were seat right in front of the TV so it was impossible to ignore them in this tiny area. I ended up leaving early and so did several others. Very bad decision to come here to watch a debate.

Aloft, a fairly new hotel and lounge in nyc and in harlem. The staff is pleasant and know alot about the sights. The lounge is good also with nice barstaff and bartenders. Good drinks and good hotel prices.

Overall, it was a fairly good stay. This is a very modern, trendy place… therefore, if you're not a modern person it might be the place for you. We checked in late, and the bar area was very loud, with lots of people, looking like they were having fun. However the hotel staff was courteous and professional. Our room was modern, but went with style instead of functionality. However, the room was very spacious. We had a problem with hot water. We also had a problem with a few drunk customers early in the morning. One banged on our door around 4 a. M. And had the wrong room But the location was great and close to friends. Would I choose to stay here again? Probably not. But if you're looking for a trendy place with an interesting feel, this might be for you.
