I’ve live in the neighborhood for twenty years. When Conrad opened throughout the years, I have stopped in to have drinks and dinner at their restaurant. I’ve also the recommended my friends and family to stay there when they come visit me from out of town which they have and enjoyed. Last night on my way home I stopped In with my husband and asked the gentleman at the check in desk if I can use the restroom in the lobby, he said yes, and I proceeded to go in. I was approach by a very tall gentlemen (clearly security) who aggressively asked if I’m Staying there and I said no, I live in the neighborhood and he shouted (yes shouted) for me to leave the premises because I’m not. A guest. Now, I know that there are rules but There was no need for him To be that rude and loud. It was a simple ask to use a restroom (the toilet), it’s not that serious. As humans I believe it’s okay to use a restroom. I just don’t get why if you’re working for a hotel and in customer service and why the approach have to be so aggressive and scary. I also was thinking something as I left, how about if I was somebody who was in a situation where I needed to get away from the man that I was with (sex trafficking, abusive behavior) and I want to use the restroom to be able to make a call and ask for help? As I checked out the website, I realized that the staff is supposed to go through a human trafficking training. Where is the sensitivity and awareness in trying to acknowledge when a person is in danger? Just truly disappointed in all this. Had to share. Again, I live in the neighborhood don’t have the need to stay here but definitely will not recommend nor will be back to visit the restaurant. Not a friendly environment. Also should retrain staff on human trafficking.
