Review of Quality Inn & Suites Albany Airport 2*

We recently stayed at the Quality Inn for one night while passing thru the area. We had stayed there several years ago and altho its an older hotel was clean and we were satisfied with our stay. NOT so THIS time. To start with when we arrived around 8PM there were several young male non-guests hanging around outside being a nuisance, to the point security needed to be called. That didn't give me a very good feeling. The hotel has a main building which is very nice and 2 wings that are separate. Altho the hotel was far from full, judging from the parking lot, we were sent to one of the wings. We weren't sure if its because we had a discounted room and wonder whether nicer rooms are saved for business travelers. The room we had was supposed to be a non smoking room as were all the rooms around it but the hallways were very smoke filled and I could smell smoke in our room thru out the night. The room itself seemed clean and the bed was clean, but the bathroom was disgusting. The moulding in the shower was cracked and dirty looking and the baseboard along the floor was broken and dirty. The tub drain was clogged so you ended up standing in several inches of water to take a shower. GROSS! The One positive was their continental breakfast served over in the lobby of the main building was very good with many choices and the staff at check in and out was friendly. We did mention the bathroom condition at check out. I hope our comments at the front desk will improve things. We know when we travel thru that area again we will stay elsewhere.
