My partner and I had the pleasure of staying in this lovely B&B during the first week of April. We are new to the concept of a bed and breakfast, and I fear that we may have been spoiled by our first experience. If other B&Bs are even partially as fantastic as Steamboat Castle is, we are in for a treat. Every aspect of our stay was incredible. The property is directly on the lake; the steps from the beautifully tiled patio lead directly to the beach. The rooms were clean and cozy, the view from our private balcony was spectacular, the downstairs common areas were spacious and comfortable, the decorating throughout the building was subtle, yet beautiful, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. One of the most impressive parts, though, was the amenities and attention to detail. It felt like Ginny and Jamie anticipated just about every possible need their guests could have and had planned something to accommodate it. From a stand of umbrellas by the front door, to the basket of sunglasses in the downstairs dining area, to the fishing poles by the door to the lake. Extra beach towels downstairs for use on the beach or in their hot tub; an outdoor grill and fire pit; a canoe and kayak to take onto the lake; a common area fridge prestocked with water; coffee and tea available whenever it is desired; and plenty of dishes, flatware, and glasses for whatever you might like to prepare for yourself. And then there was the personal touch. Ginny expertly and generously prepared an amazing, multi-course breakfast that was not only nutritious and delicious, but also accommodated some very restrictive food allergies. She anticipated our every question, pre-writing a list of ingredients of everything she made for us, including some wonderful sugar cookies to munch on when we arrived! She seemed to genuinely care that we felt safe to eat what she had prepared, and clearly took great pride in her efforts. She was incredibly friendly as well, chatting with us about our vacation plans as we watched the morning mist rise off the lake from the dining room and giving us some recommendations of wineries and breweries to go to. The only regret we have about our stay is that we did not have the time to stay longer. We will *definitely* be making another reservation here when we visit the area again. In fact, I hesitate to even post this review in the fear it will make it harder for us to get a spot! Thank you, Ginny and Jamie, for playing such a significant role in what was one of the best vacations we have had in some time. Ben and Emily.
