Walking distance to the river and the property is beautiful the owners are sweet and helpful.

Touring the state a couple weeks back and stumbled on this Gem. Owners could not have gone out of thier way more to accommodate my needs. Clayton is a beautiful area. The room was perfect Rate was reasonable.

Impeccably clean. Cute rooms. White linens. Good bed. Decent sized shower. Owners nice, helpful, tour to every person. Love the oops closet. It is a closet with items left like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, personal products you can barrow. Quiet. Very Nice. Decent price. Love the patio. Highly recommended.

I can’t say enough. The friendliness and the hospitality of the couple that run the Inn is exceptional. Quiet, peaceful, clean, quaint. The whole area is friendly, walking around town people actually greet you and stop to chat a rare experience in these times. You can walk to the shops in town. Going back for sure.

This place is wonderful! We had such a great stay — it’s very well kept, clean and very relaxing. There’s a guest kitchen with coffee and a great back patio that we were able to enjoy. It’s only a block away from the Wood Boat Brewery and the antique boat museum. Just about a block from those locations is the ‘main’ street of Clayton, which has a variety of restaurants, great shops and a local winery’s shop. It’s a great location and everything downtown is within walking distance. Berny was great; when we arrived he took the time to tell us the ‘must go to’ places and even marked them out on a map. You can tell they really take pride in this place and the town. This is a stay and trip that we will always remember!

It's a great little place that was upconverted. The only thing preventing me from giving it a full 5 stars is that we had to bring our own box fan in as the AC in our room (room 6? ) was by the little hall by the bathroom and didn't circulate as easily throughout the room. Room 4 looked like it also may be a bit noisy because it is by the guests' supplies closet (which is great that there's one though! ) but we did not stay there so I cannot comment. That all said it was a nice little place and I'd recommend it, just maybe bring a fan if it's gonna be hot.

Wonderful place to stay in Clayton, like coming home. Clean, walk to everything. Delightful hosts. We will definitely come back again and again.

Loved the inn, owners are great and the room was spotless. We will definitely try to book with them on our next trip to the thousand Islands.

George and I would like to thank you for the great hospitality. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our room was immaculate and the bed was so comfortable. The firepit area was so relaxing. Clayton is the best. Everything we did was a few blocks away. We fished off the pier, walked around "town" and watched the most beautiful sunset right on the water. I recommend the Wooden Boat Inn if you want an affordable place to relax for a few days. Thank you again. We will definitely be back.

Love! We happened to visit Clayton NY after crossing into USA. We came across this quaint town for a beer at Wooden Boat Brewery. Just walking around we knew we wanted to make a day of it and we found the Wooden Boat Inn. Beautiful property, lovely accommodations, comfortable room and bed. Perfectly priced and the owners are very friendly too. As we walked around town/water front, we knew we made the right pick with Wooden Boat Inn!

Comfortable, convenient, and friendly The Wooden Boat Inn is comfortable, pleasant, and a quick walk to most of Clayton's attractions. Berny is very friendly and helpful, as well. If you're looking for a motel-style inn with all the basic amenities, then you should look here.

This is a great place to stay. The owners are extremely nice and offer great suggestions on where to eat. Also, the rooms are kept extremely clean and tidy.

We had an excellent stay, after a slight miscommunication in booking the owner was very gracious and delighted us with the use of his 36ft boat for the night at the same rate as the room, included in that was a personal 1 hour historical tour of the bay on the St Lawrence River on the boat. We would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at the wooden boat motel several time in the last 3 years, but I won't be staying there any more. Each time I stayed it was 5 or 6 nights. The rooms are nice enough for the price, but the bath room and shower stall are very small. I made a reservation in January for a week in June and payed 197.14 deposit. In June I had to cancel a week before my arrival time. According to the cancellation policy that accompanied the reservation confirmation email, If I cancelled less than 30 days before my arrival date I would lose the deposit. I was fine with that because it was less than 30 days. However, Berni charged a second deposit of 197.14 so now I am out $394.28 and Berni's answer was that he could charge me for the entire week but he said he could rent it on Friday so he was ONLY charging me the $394.28. I sent all the email correspondence emails to my credit card company and after a review they took The second $197.14 back from the motel and gave me a credit on my bill. Sooooooooooooo if you make a reservation be careful and get the cancellation policy in print first, because some time thing change after you pay your deposit. This is a followup.

Great place! Clean and comfortable, priced right, near everything in town. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend a stay to anyone.

We stayed here last weekend. We were in town for a wedding, we loved our choice in hotels. Both owners were wonderful and very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable! (my only regret… Not finding out where they get their pillows from) wonderful place!
Very high recommendation coming from us!
