Might have been a nice place to stay, but the manager I tried to speak with was a real TOOL! Snotty, curt and generally indifferent to anything related to our stay. Maybe he will not last long and they get someone nice to replace him. But for now: AVOID!

Wonderful managers, quaint rooms, rustic, great mountain view.

Amazing gem of an oasis, we loved our stay here from the views to the simple comforts of home in our room. These guys know that it's the simple things that make your stay special! We will be back for more of your hospitality and relaxing atmosphere.

I booked a casita at Mountain Valley lodge for a week 2 years ago and stayed 3 months. I have returned for another 3 months — this place is as close to Paradise as one can get. I was here when Joshua the bicyclist came and was helping out the owners when they were away doing errands, and rented Joshua the camping site — I have no idea why he left the review he did: he had seen the other campsites in the area and didn't want to return to them, and when I showed him the tree lined site here he said it was fine. I checked the shower with the owners and it worked perfectly, as did both large and small washers and dryers. By the way — I'm an anthropologist, a univ professor, and I think the owners are wonderful, the lodge is about the best place I've been (and I travel extensively), and the care the owners take exceptional.

Terrible for bicycle touring with a tent. Broken coin slot on shower. Out of order laundry machines. Noisy dirt tent location next to highway. Broken water spigot at "tent area". Comedically rickety picnic table. Was too exhausted to go to find another campsite or backtrack. Embarrassed at what I paid to stay here (particularly when I found out about other camping options). I only have myself to blame. The rooms looked nice from the outside and there was some kitschy cool landscaping. The Wi-Fi worked. People were nice.

We stayed in one of the "casitas" and it was very clean, pleasant, peaceful place. We got to meet several townsfolk and had a wonderful time hiking Coronado Forest and sharing a meal with new friends. (this before the new owners took over but I'm sure it is still wonderful — the disgruntled reviewer was obviously in the wrong place)

Clean and comfortable. Shower and heater a bit quirky but don't that hold you back.

Mountain Valley Lodge is next to the old (Rodeo Store and RV Park that has been closed for several years. ) Mountain Mountain Valley Lodge is located next door on the NORTH side. IT IS VERY CLEAN… and only may have grass during the monsoon season. Photos do not lie. The grounds are kept up constantly we take pride in doing so. We do our best to make all our guests happy if there staying in the RV Park or one of our cabins. Please let us know if you have a concern we may be able to help or even improve even better. This place is not what it appears. The RV park is nothing but a weedy gravel lot with no grass in site. We were shocked when we pulled in after seeing the pictures on line. We chose to not even get out of the vehicle and drove on to Douglas. They should be ashamed of their false advertising.

Mountain Valley Lodge is a wonderful little oasis. The rooms are fantastic and very reasonably priced. Find a reason to visit Rodeo, New Mexico and when you do, the Mountain Valley Lodge is the place to stay.
