Great room for person with disabilities!

Unprofessional, incompetent, and filthy hotel! Avoid the best you can. I am a very understanding/give the benefit of the doubt type of person. I was more patient with this hotel than I should have been. Wanting to support smaller businesses and having a positive experience with this particular hotel at my brother’s wedding 10+ years ago, I chose them for my guests to stay during my January wedding. It has been nothing but a nightmare. Up until this day, I am still dealing with their incompetence. I booked a hotel block a year and a half prior to my wedding. I paid $500 to host an after party that I still have not been refunded for. In August, I had to track the hotel down to confirm all the needed information and confirm details. I asked Larry to send me direction cards for my invitations. A month went by and I still had no direction cards. I called the front desk requesting them and a week later they arrived. In October, three months before my wedding and after all invitations had been mailed with the direction cards, I tried to book a room using the information on the direction card. I was unable to for whatever reason. I called the front desk repeatedly for hours and no one answered. I emailed Larry and received no response. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I gave it two days and finally decided to call again.

I stayed at this hotel for my friends wedding where I was a groomsmen on the first weekend of October. The wedding itself was absolutely beautiful but my stay in the hotel next to the venue was horrible. During the 2nd day, bed sheets were taken off my bed by the cleaning staff and not replaced for hours. Other guests within the bridal party complained of a similar issue as well. Why aren’t the bed sheets replaced with new ones simultaneously?! This is a huge inconvenience. The entire purpose of staying in a hotel is to sleep comfortably. I went to complain about this so I could take a nap peacefully, but was told “your sheets are being washed, but we’ll replace them. ” They were replaced but but until hours later. On the last day of my stay, Sunday October 3rd, I went to bring all of my belongings to my car. I left a card with cash on a desk in my room with a white envelope on top, I was going to sign it and present it as a gift to my friends when I got back from my car. When I got back from my car to my room, the card was missing along with the $200 cash I was going to gift my friends. The bed sheets were also gone, which means someone from the hotel staff had recently been in the room. I immediately ask the staff in the immediate area of my room but they have no answers for me and then I go to the front desk. The staff is very nonchalant; and unhelpful.

Nice staff. Hot shower, cold air. Impressive dacor. Enjoyable stay. Come on over!

The staff was rude the toilet didn’t work inside the bathroom had to leave 7 o’clock in the morning to go use the bathroom call the front desk but obviously they did nothing about it very dissatisfied would not recommend staying there.

Great Customer Service and will recommend to friends.

We were upgraded to a suite, then plumbing was broke and they gave us a bigger suite, too bad jacuzzi ddidnt work.

Bed Bugs! My uncle came to visit and stayed 2 nights. On Christmas Day he started experiencing a rash. He went home and saw his doctor. It was bed bugs! My poor uncle had to go to the doctor multiple times and go on multiple medications to control the itching. The hotel did confirm they had bed beds. We have called and gone there many times asking for our refund and to reimburse my uncle for his medical costs and his own exterminator which he needed to get for his own house. We have made many attempts with the hotel to make good on our expenses and refund and he still has not. The hotel is awful and dirty. I do NOT recommend you staying here!

My female friend and I went to this hotel and one of the housekeepers stole a couple of items from her, after that experience im never going back. Other than that It would've been on my top 5 hotels.

Everything, very elegant and definitely worth the trip here.

Attended a wedding last night. Food was fabulous. Staff was so attentive. A wonderful night for all! Highly recommend as this was the second wedding I’ve attended there.

It is new and clean. It is also nearby good restaurants and we took half an hour to go into NYC on a Sunday.

This is the only wedding vendor I’m disappointed with. The only positive thing about this place was Amanda, who was very accommodating when coordinating shuttles. We ended up here after noting that the quality of rooms was a little better than the other options we had. However, their contract is strict. You have to provide 2 credit cards because you’re on the hook to pay for any rooms that do not get booked in your block. In order to get a complimentary bridal suite, you need to guarantee 5 additional rooms, for me this was 25 rooms in total. We ended up with 21 booked rooms, and they charged us more for the bridal suite that was indicated on our contract! When we actually got to the bridal suite, there was nothing special to indicate that we had just gotten married, and the thermostat was set to 80 degrees — in the middle of July! It took about 45 minutes for the temperature to finally go down making the room bearable. I’m also very disappointed because they did not distribute hotel bags to all of the guests!

Wedding I attended was done beautifully. Food A++ couldn’t finish my filet mignon but it was delicious!

We chose the Wilshire Grand Hotel for the room block for our May wedding at The Manor. We were in contact with Amanda and she is awesome! She was on top of everything from start to finish! We managed to get 1 night comp'd because of the amount of guests we had book a room. They are very organized and we were provided with shuttles to and from the wedding venue which made everything just so much more convenient. The grounds of Wilshire are so beautiful, nice and cozy. The rooms were big and definitely a good space for getting ready for a wedding esp the bridal suite. The bridal suite bathroom is huge! There is also a jacuzzi in there which we didn't have time to try but pretty neat. I do recommend bringing your own/more mirrors as they do not provide those. All in all we had a very good stay and so did our guests. Also a bonus was the welcome slideshow they have for the weekend with photos that you provide welcoming guests for your event which I thought was a really nice unique and personalized touch for each event they had going on. All in all, would recommend staying here!

Hello there, I stayed here for two days. I loved everything to the clean rooms to the beautiful lobby. I had some issues those two nights, the fire alarm went off, rap music played the next. I did not get too much sleep, but their coffee woke me right up. I loved the stay, but the disturbance was not very nice.

Beautiful grounds, nice clean room. Free breakfast is a very nice amenity, but eggs were powdered and overall not the best food. Overall I would definitely stay here again!

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. Location is very beautiful on the inside (didn't get to see outside due to weather) and the staff is extremely courteous and professional. I'd recommend this place to anyone seeking to host an event.

Small hotel and banquet hall in West Orange. Large room with fridge and microwave. Older/classic styling. Comfortable bed. Shower has good water pressure. Good amenities including breakfast. There was no 'do not disturb thing on the door and twice in the morning (around 9am and again at 1030am), housekeeping tried to knock on our door to come in, waking me up both times.

I was there for a wedding. Everything was very impressive but several of the rooms for the event didn’t have much air conditioning. They tried to place fans around but it enough. The lighting and the food were superb.

I had a reservation at this hotel months prior for a wedding. When I checked in at 5pm, they told me they did not have a room available for me due to late check outs. They asked me to wait while they cleaned a room for me because they did not want to give me a dirty room. I pointed out to then them that they aren't allowed to give me a dirty room. I also pointed out that my check in was at 3. I nearly missed the wedding due to their negligence. Would not recommend this hotel. Edited to add: I called the hotel a week later and they made a small adjustment to the price of the room for the inconvenience. I still would be wary of staying here again but at least the manager took some ownership. I changed from one star to 3 star.

Expected better value for the cost. Nice, old hotel. AC thru old fashioned under window floor unit controlled from bathroom thermostat. But, the thermostat didn't work. Room was freezing and fan ran constantly even with fan off and froze all night. Bartender was annoyed we were in the bar and told us all to leave at 10pm.

This is like a holiday inn masquerading as a luxury hotel. Added because I was asked for clarification by the facility: In my experience with luxury hotels I am greeted at the door for my luggage, do not have to shout to the back for help at the front desk, the top of the toilet and door to my room are clean, when I ask the front desk for a restaurant with a good wine list they usually have one on site, but if they don't I am not normally directed to a bar and there is fine dining available on site. The Wilshire Grand met none of these qualifications.

Nice hotel but a bit dated in decor. Good variety of breakfast items. No bar available in the evening. No restaurants nearby.

I went for an awards dinner. It was my first time there. They did a nice job with the food and presentation. The place is so big they could use some greeters to help you find your way when you first get there.

Wonderful service and good food. Most importantly though it's pet friendly and extremely close to a Petco. Absolutely recommend with pets.

Two stars because the hotel was very lovely. I cannot say the same for the staff. I arrived 6 hours after making my reservation and was told they did not have me booked. The rate I used was through my travel points/rewards, which I am still working to have returned to me. I have not received a call back, after being told a Manager was away and would contact me as soon as possible. It appears, “as soon as possible”, takes over 5 business days. I’m appalled at the difficultly I’ve had with having this rectified. The evening I checked in, I was adamant and showed the clerk my reservation. His response, “well we don’t have in our system”. The next morning I am contacted around noon, after having went back to the front desk and reiterated the situation I went through the previous night. I explain my card had been charged when I checked in as well as for the reservation I booked. I was told it wasn’t really charged that and just some sort of hold. I explained I wanted to stay another evening and want to book it online for a significant savings. The clerk said I could show her the rate and it would be applied. I am still waiting on that to take effect. The rate I had was significantly lower and that was purpose for booking this hotel and staying. The day prior to checking, I was at the Roosevelt in Manhattan for a week. I decided, since I wanted to visit friends I would try this hotel.

The hot beverages and popcorn in lobby were a nice touch. Booked there to stay when in town for my wedding. Looking forward to staying in the fabulous bridal suite!

This was my first time here and it was gorgeous! Breakfast was delicious too. My only issue was that they brought everyone a plate with bacon before asking about dietary restrictions so they had to take it back. Here's hoping I can be back soon.

Lovely hotel, much nicer than I usually get to stay at while traveling on business. Outstanding staff, beautiful facility, clean, spacious and comfortable room. Great value thanks to an Expedia promotion. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was the only disappointment; as a low-carb dieter I *live* for bacon & eggs on the road; the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were tasty (and I ate too many) but scrambled eggs and some sort of breakfast meat would have made my day! Coffee was fantastic. Overall, worthy of a five star rating in my view.

Lovely facility, good food, well managed. Some of the staff is young and not trained well in serving food but minor. Have only attended events here, not stayed, but friends who have stayed say it was a lovely room and comfortable.

I had a great experience staying here for work travel. My room was very clean and looked newly updated. I was pleasantly surprised to learn of the complimentary breakfast when I checked in. The room I stayed in was quiet and the bed was comfortable. If I returned to the area I would stay here again.

Nice, interesting hotel. Best part was Ed, who said he was the night auditor. A nice friendly guy. I travel a lot for work and visit many fine hotels. The great ones understand that their most important function is service. Ed gets that. Thanks for a great stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were very spacious. After hanging out in NYC all day I felt like I was visiting Texas because everything was so spacious. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was a little lacking, that would be the only ding against it. Would definitely stay here again.

They do fine events here. Staff is top notch. Super kind and helpful. Food was well prepared and the hall itself is very nice with outdoor areas that are finely appointed.

We visited the Wilshire for a wedding. Venue, food, service, and experience at the wedding was great. Room was comfortable in temperature and bed. Pillows we're not too comfortable as they were quite soft. Overall a solid experience. 4 stars due to the breakfast not really being on par with other hotel breakfasts, which in itself isn't saying too much there.

Such a beautiful venue! John, Angie & the entire Wilshire staff were so accommodating. We still have friends and family raving about the delicious food and attentive service. Our wedding day was the most memorable day of our lives and we couldn’t be more grateful to them for providing our guests (and ourselves) with such a phenomenal experience!

Wonderful. I can't even express how impressed I was. Complimentary wine and beer at check in. Comfortable bed. Thick towels. It's worth every penny and more. The free breakfast was delicious. Florence was so sweet and had everything prepared to a T. I highly recommend the hotel. We had a room with a private little deck and courtyard shared by one other room. Definitely will return!

The Wilshire Grand Hotel is in a very convenient location in West Orange, NJ. The amenities aren't that great but sufficient if you are not looking for much. Rooms are spacious and we'll maintained. The breakfast is alright but again you can't expect more than that. I enjoyed my stay but I was there only for work. I would visit again, if my work paid for it. Now the cons, while it's great that they have a refrigerator and a microwave in the room, the refrigerator was very noisy sometimes waking me up at night. They definitely need to upgrade their showers and taps.

Sharp place — very nicely done and new decor. Beverages available all day for free. Coffee and cookies available 24/7 and very nice. Extensive lobby with tables/couches and sitting areas. Serves free breakfast. Superclean, new and modern rooms — great amenities.

Very nice hotel. Only issue I had was that I ended up in a handicap room which I didn't need. I was happy to find out there was a free breakfast. Hotel has a little bit of a weird layout but the room was really nice and I would stay again!

I had such a great experience at this hotel! Complimentary champagne from 3-5 pm, free cookies & popcorn from lunch time until dinner. Don't forget the unlimited free coffee and juices and breakfast 7-11 am that had a wide selection of options to choose from. Easy located place to get around to any stores literally up the block, not expensive prices and has miniature golf for play as well if you want.

Excellent hotel. Friendly staff quick check in and an exquisite and clean room. In room king bed plus secondary two person tub in the bedroom. Perfect for our anniversary getaway.

We went there for 2 nights. It was a great experience. It was clean. The breakfast was a great morning meal. There was a washroom, tv, bed, iron, chair and so much more. It has great service from the staff. Parking was a great area. Our whole family was impressed. We are sure to stay here if we come again.

A perfect choice for a perfect wedding. I can not say enough about Joe'l's, and attendants Angela and Junior's exceptional detail-oriented caring and experienced service for my daughter's wedding. The entire Wilshire staff were wonderful to work with. The guests highly complimented the service and delicious food. The hotel registration staff welcomed our guests efficiently insuring everyone received their welcome bag as they checked in. The Wilshire Grand Hotel room accommodations including the continental breakfast were 5 star. The Primavera Restaurant on the premises was a convenient place for our wedding "After Party" and also gave us wonderful service that night. The convenience of having hotel rooms, restaurant and wedding ballrooms with beautiful patio and courtyard was the perfect choice. Much thanks to The Wilshire Grand for giving our daughter and son-in-law a completely wonderful wedding celebration and providing our guests with an enjoyable time.

I was here for a conference. The pictures provided online are a little misleading; while the grounds are lovely, they are very compact. This hotel is on a main road, and is within walking distance of a whole lot of stuff. Which is convenient, but it's not the remote location the pictures seem to suggest. I didn't stay over, so I can't speak to the accommodations. The ballroom area was very nice. The room we were in was quite large. The snacks provided were very tasty — a nice assortment of fresh fruit, bagels, and danishes.

I think the beds and pillows are the most comfortable I've ever slept on — I made sure to note the brand so I can get my own! We really enjoyed our stay.

I attended a seminar at the hotel. The facilities were very nice. Parking was easy. I had to park in the back, but the entrance wasn't far. Lunch buffet was provided. The food was very good. Better than typical conference food.

Just attended a wedding there. Great rooms, great food, great service. There were two weddings going on and you couldn't tell. The hotel rooms could use some TLC as they are showing their age but overall great.

Very pretty hotel, with a nice workout room and complimentary drinks and cookies during the day. However, they charge a $25 incidental fee PER DAY even for pre booked rooms. Takes a good week or so to come off your card. Not worth your time if you don't actually get incidentals or buy anything.

We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is very nice, in a convenient location for the Oranges in New Jersey. Only about 30 minutes from the Newark Airport. Free breakfast was plentiful and varied. The rooms are nicely appointed, but a little small. Italian restaurant attached is pricey, but very good.

Too noisy u cant sleep relax everyone talking loud in hallway waking u up at 11, 1am 4am and so on… toilet and air conditioning problem.

I checked in at this hotel for a wedding last night, at first look the hotel was nice, rooms spacious. I hung my dress on the door to iron it, put it on the ironing board and there was black grease all over the back of my dress. Apparently they grease their hinges with black grease. Fine. Kwaku in guest services offered to clean my dress and try and get the stain out. The two women at the front desk, Shayna and Erica, have NO idea how to treat guests. "It's not our problem, he's doing you a favor by cleaning it" was the response I got when I asked the status of my dress which took over an hour to clean. I put on a wet dress, missed family photos, half of the cocktail hour and the shuttle drove me to the wrong venue. When we returned from the wedding Shupna was very sweet and apologetic and offered to comp our room. Upon check out I was told we were not to be comped. Ed, apparently the manager, is another person who has no clue how to treat guests. So nasty and rude. The experience alone is enough to not go back ever again. Please train your staff in proper hotel management and guest services. Ed, Shayna and Erica are a disgrace.

Stayed here for one night the staff was accommodating and the room was nice. Only issue was the breakfast area but other than that it was a positive experience.

We stayed one night, midweek. The hotel is very clean. The staff are polite and professional. The rooms have internet and great Panasonic Flat Screens. The housekeeping staff pay attention to details like I have not seen anywhere else. They are also very environmentally conscious using LEDs at the bedside tables and CFLs in the overhead fixtures. Soaps are ethically made. When we arrived they had fresh popcorn and cookies as well as coffee and drinks available. Breakfast was more than continental with a really excellent browned potatoes/peppers/crumbled sausage/onion mix that was not greasy at all. This was a totally surprising place and very inexpensive for what you get. There was even a little putting green outside just beyond their outdoor courtyard.

I used them for my wedding accommodations mostly because the location was right and they offered transportation. Price was okay, too. However, the staff is quite rude. Several of my guests complained about the front desk being rude, and I experienced it first hand. When I checked in, they tried to charge my card at the original rate for the bridal suite. I was promised a discount for the first night, and a free stay for the evening of our wedding as long as we booked all of our promised rooms, which we did. My card was declined because it was being charged almost $800 more than anticipated, and the girl rudely accused me of swiping my card all day. The transportation services, to my knowledge, turned out okay. I ended up with an extra charge on my card for $50 and I have no clue what for. I didn't have it in me to bother to find out because dealing with their incompetence wasn't worth it. On the other hand, I will say everything was clean and the breakfast was good. It's probably a good stay for one room, but trying to do group business with them where discounts and promotions apply is nothing but aggravation.

I had my August wedding at the Wilshire Grand Hotel and I am very happy with the overall customer service, food, quality and atmosphere. I worked with John Bowes and he was very caring and personable. He truly cared about OUR wedding. The bridal attendants were great the entire night and made sure I had everything I wanted. They worked with us when we were really looking for a smaller wedding. All of our guests raved about the food and the venue. It's priced right and a great place to share your special day. Would highly recommend.

Regardless how nice this venue looks, it is not worth having to deal with the staff. Just like the other reviews, the customer service I received was terrible. Not only do they not return phone calls but no one seems able to help with anything except one person — who is NEVER available or in! I've left several messages in the past 4 days and they NEVER call me back. To add insult to injury when I ask when this elusive person gets in, the girl says 11:00am. So I call back at that time and she says 'He won't be in until noon. " Get your info straight, start returning phone calls and don't make me chase you for my business. If you don't want my business I would BE ECSTATIC going somewhere else who is more courtesy and timely. The only positive thing I can say about their customer service is the receptionist has always been nice and as helpful as he can be. Unless you want to hassle the staff (and I mean hassle) I would avoid this venue at all costs.
