My family stayed here this past weekend and we had a wonderful stay. Everyone, from the attendant to the maintenance staff were super nice and helpful. They even sent a cupcake with strawberries to the room for my son's birthday! It's in a great location too. I would definitely come back to this Westin again!

One stop on the PATH to World Trade Center and about half the price of NY accommodation! Very clean and walking distance to metro station. So convenient but be careful of maintenance or you have to go through Hoboken. Great if you don't need a car. Staff was nice and rooms were clean. Full kitchen.

The first time for me to write a review for hotel. We had a wonderful time staying here. The hotel is marvelous with clean and comfortable room. The location is great to have access to NYC. The staff at front desk is so nice and breakfast is yummy. Thanks for Sham with great service!

Easily accessable entrance from both driving and public transit. The restaurant fire & oak was great. The server, food and mixed drinks were wonderful. We'll definitely be back.

Great apartment for a living. Everything is there, everything works. The train to Manhattan is just 15 minutes away. Along the Hudson good views for photo.

Absolutely loved my stay here! I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days they didn't charge me extra for my late check-out and they were on top of new towels and giving extra shampoo and conditioner without even asking :-) also I have to say the food here is exquisite. They make sure you are extremely comfy and can barely remember what home was like.

Very nice place, the streets are ideal to go out for a run and it is very close to everything.

I had a great vacation in Westin New Jersey Hotel. Clean, quiet and very good staffs. Rosemary, the receptionist was so polite and helpful. I’ll come back definitely.

Booked the junior suites for the night before my wedding and the rooms were great. I was given the rooms overlooking the NYC skyline and it was perfect. The room had a modern '60s chic look to it which was really nice, think of the show Mad Men but with an updated color scheme. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Everything that I could ask for.

Would rate negative stars if impossible. Room was located next to the elevator when specifically requested to be away from the elevator & vending machine. No other rooms available. No apologies by staff. Room was filthy. Sheets had stains and bench chair had stains galore — either re-upholster or REPLACE. Free breakfast was re-constituted eggs and bagels. Would never recommend.

So easy to get to from Manhattan. Good mall nearby and the hotel has decent food. I will be happy to go back.

Beautiful hotel, excellent view, excellent service, parking is around the corner and is not free you must walk about 5-10 minutes, the food at breakfast very rich and varied excellent attention of the hosts, gym area and pool which you can enjoy in winter is roofed and heated, if you want to go shopping they have right next to the mall…

hermoso hotel, execelente vista, excelente servicio, el estacionamiento esta a la vuelta de la esquina y no es gratuito debes caminar como unos 5-10 minutos, la comida en el desayuno muy rica y variada excelente atencion de los anfitriones, area de gym y piscina la cual puedes disfrutar en invierno esta techada y climatizada, si quieres ir de compras tienen justo al lado el mall…

I’ve stayed here a few times for work and this time I did for a personal get away and it was great. Everyone was friendly and room was great. Being walking distance from the mall was a big plus.

Wonderful stay. Quite. Great steak house on site called Fire & Oak with reasonably priced good food. Parking garage is next to hotel so you have to walk about 5 — 10 minutes to the garbage and then wait for an elevator or take the stairs. That was a bit or a pain. Great views of downtown Manhattan if it's not foggy. Overall great 5 star experience. Con… $45 for two drinks at the bar.

The hotel is in a very convenient location with many places to eat around and next to a path station. When I arrived, my room wasn't ready so I was upgraded to a higher floor. Staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean.

Great hotel, close to city. However, very chlorine-containing water.

Our arrival was fairly standard with no surprises. The check-in area was decorated nicely for the holidays and the staff were pleasant enough. Our room however, which was supposed to be a Junior Suite with a City View, was on the 4th floor with a window overlooking the building across the street. Between that disappointment and finding the previous guest's trash (which contained personal identifying information) I've had to subtract 1 star. Overall I would probably stay here again but request a room on a much higher floor.

Stayed here for Thanksgiving with my girlfriend. Great service very clean and welcoming and the security staff made us feel very safe. Honestly out of all the places I stayed in Westin was the best!

Great stay. Staff is very friendly and the place e I see clean. The location is great. Very close to the Newport Path. Decent grocery store in walking distance.

Great hotel! Clean and We had an excellent view of the city! The staff was so helpful. We wanted to take the subway to NYC. They told us exactly how to get there! I needed to get to a Macy’s asap and there was one almost next door. The hotel is in a great location! Safe neighborhood. Good hotel to stay in if staying in Jersey City!

Would recommend this hotel. I've seriously enjoyed my stay. Comfortable beds, great rooms & services and as always a professional staff.

Our booking included the breakfast, but they denied it, until we had to show them "proof" a screenshot of what it said online while booking for them to honor breakfast. It's quite sad to know that as an SPG member, and a loyal customer, we have to show them proof for something that should have been part of the reservation in the first place! Had we not taken the screenshot, we would have not had the breakfast included! Our rooms wouldn't get cleaned until late afternoon 3-5pm. Not a very common thing especially after calling them and asking them to clean our rooms at 9:30am! I had a long day, came back to find the room wasn't done by 330, so called again then had to step out again for the room to be cleaned.

Reasonably price, conveniently located, amazing view of Manhattan. Friendly and accommodating staff. Good internet connection, pool & Jacuzzi. Parking $24.

Only went for dinner and it was decent. Overpriced for sure, but the dinner was pretty tasty. They did try to convince me that a light lager was a double IPA and charged me for the expensive one when I mentioned it, but overall not bad.

I would like to say that I had a beautiful time on my vacation. Let me start by saying I travel around the world, and I never met someone in a hotel somebody so kind and passionate about his work. His name in Tracy Mattheus is an engineer at the Westin Hotel in Jersey City. He came to assist me to fix the air conditioner in my room. He was a very pleasant man and he made me very welcome at the Westin Hotel. And for that reason I will recommend any of my friend of Canada to stay at the Westin Hotel.

Parking was a little difficult to find. Could've done with more/bigger signs. Other than that, was pretty good! Friendly check in staff, room was clean (other than they forgot to clean the coffee maker. There was water and grind left over inside the machine from before. ) lighting inside the bathroom was good, shower water pressure was good as well!

I stayed in two nights. I am glad and appreciate the manger of the Westin. I received a good experience with a fantastic service. The room has incredible views to New York. I will try hard to back again.

Pretty good hotel! Had a work conference there — service and area were spot on. Bar and food was fine. Location in general leaves something to be desired (as would any hotel in this area).

Located in the Financial District, the hotel had great views of the waterfront. Conveniently located near the Holland Tunnel, so easy to get to Manhattan. The rooms are immaculate and very modern. I always stay here whenever I need to go to NYC. Great hotel!

Got drinks at the bar with some coworkers, beer variety was appalling and one bartender was very rude, but overall the atmosphere was nice and the scotch menu saved the day.

Room was not cleaned well. We found leftover food in the mini fridge. Overpriced for the size of room. Plenty of other options available for this price range.

Bad experience. I stayed 2 weeks on February 2016 for business. Nice, and spacious installations, big and fancy lobby. When I got to the room, the bathroom stinks to cigarette's smoke. Went to the Lobby and the front desk girl looks at me like I was the one who was smoking, a couple hours after I arrived, very bad costumer service. They charge you for everything: Wifi, breakfast, parking (at least these are listed on the web page) but they charge you $5 + tax for each package you receive, and they do not tell you until you check out, very lame for a $350-per-night hotel. I almost got to think they would charge me for using the elevator. I went in winter time, noticed that the door man opens the front door for parking users or guests with a car only, not for walking-in guests. Gym is nice equipped, did not try the indoor pool. Close to the mall, PATH station and other services, but is not the only good hotel in the area, definitively will look into another one next time.

Comfortable beds, great bathroom and great view. Wi-Fi costs money that's my only complaint.

Great hotel. The room was really clean, the view was great and the valet was fast. Room service was a bit expensive, we failed to look at the service charges until after we paid $70 for 2 burgers and some Mac and Cheese, which is a bit much for cold fries and overdone burgers. We would stay again if for some reason we ever had to go back to Jersey City.

Great location, being that it's super close to PATH and the rest of Jersey City. A walk down to the river walk is worth it for sure. However, the hotel itself is nice just not up to par at all for the price you pay. I've definately seen better Westins. The staff and concierge were really helpful and parking was very easy to get to.

Its ok, I like the area around the Hotel. The staff is not über friendly. But you can open the Windows in the rooms which is always a plus. This Hotel still charges you 10 usd for slow Wi-Fi… its 2016 — my Freaking kindle has free internet around the world!

PROS: Good service, friendly staff. Nice bar and hotel restaurant has a great burger. Indoor pool. Good location near PATH. CONS: Relatively expensive. Parking is about two blocks away.

Stayed in a 9th floor room with partial Manhattan view for 7 days. The quality is great and the rooms very silent, with dtv and coffee machine provided with free starbucks coffee every day. Good overall experience, a bit expensive (around 160$ x night for 2 people plus taxes, excluding optional Wi-Fi charge and breakfast), but it's the standard of the area I think. Very nice view of manhattan, even if partial.

They have not only managed the westin brand well but also upgraded it. The staff are very friendly, food is awesome (expensive though) and the view from the rooms is unparalleled.

The Westin Jersey City is a beautiful hotel and the location is perfect. Walking distance to the water front and light rail. The views of the water front and New York skyline are amazing. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very clean and the layout is perfect.

The Westin Jersey City Newport has been great. Very helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and clean, comfortable bedding, etc. The only issue I have is with the parking situation. They don't validate for the parking structure or have free hotel parking, parking ends up being $22 a day. That's rather expensive where I live.

Wonderful rooms, comfortable beds. Placed nearly next to the Hudson River you can get a glimpse of the Manhattan skyline out of your room. Public transportation is just a few steps away. Only negative points: no free Wi-Fi in the rooms and no breakfast buffet on weekdays.

On Saturday, September 19, 2015 at approximately 12:30 pm, I was pulling into the Westin Hotel in Jersey City, NJ to attend a wedding shower being held in the Fire and Oak restaurant. When I was entering the parking garage, I saw a sign for restaurant parking that did not include Fire and Oak. I did not want to park where I was not allowed so I turned around and went to valet. The pricing for parking was displayed, I thought they were reasonable, so decided to park. A young valet gentleman approached me and asked what my visit to the hotel was. I told him. He said the parking garage is for the restaurant, that I cannot valet. He continued to tell me the garage is free for my event and just to back up and go into the parking garage. I never had this happen before, couldn't believe he would not valet my car. People were walking all around. Flustered, very flustered, I started backing up, directly into a small silver pole, and damaged my vehicle. NOW, the valet felt terrible and guided me so I can back up, but STILL wouldn't valet my car. Inside the restaurant, when repeating the story, my sister told me they would not let her valet either cause her business was not in the hotel. She could not believe it but had four other people in her car, so she repeated to valet her car because "she was staying in the hotel". Knowing she was not telling the truth, but did park her car. When leaving the parking garage, my ticket would not raise the bar and let me out.

With one exception when we wanted to pay for breakfast instead of charging it to the room, we were pleasantly surprised with the excellent service and amiable care we experienced. From start to finish our 3 nights here were comfortable, enjoyable, food was delicious — including gluten free menus even at the restaurant — the level of awareness of environmental/green attitude and follow through. The room smelled fresh, not like many hotel rooms which can have a used up air smell (I am extremely sensitive to smell) and of course the aromatherapy in the lobby was delightful. We will come back here to stay, especially as it was easy to get around by car, instead of staying in Manhattan, the PATH train a short walk away from the hotel. Thank you!

Place was beautiful, but the employees were rude. From the minute we checked in, we received looks and Not-so-welcoming tones of voice. After being in our room for about 4 hours resting from our drive, we leave for dinner (was only gone for an hour) to come back to our doors being locked because we were a disturbance.? Being a 21year old minority couple where the only other minorities there were the workers made me feel like we were being somewhat pushed out. Paying $400 a night no matter how old you are, you deserve the best service.

I'm giving two stars for the rooms they gave me. Apart from it the internet, parking costs gazillion $$$$. I thought it'll be inclusive of all and end up paying more.

1. Key cards would not work in the elevator. Many people were complaining. I had mine changed 4 times and finally the manager had to come and open door with his key card for me after several phone calls. 2. My Air conditioning was broken and we were freezing. I called registration and it took a while to address this but they finally sent someone to fix it while we were in the room. No apologies. I felt like I was in the third World and not in a 4 stars hotel. This was definitely a must never repeat experience for me. 3. The restaurant did not have high chairs for my son's. They had two and they were both being used by the table next to us. They finally brought one that was too small for my tall 2 year old son who could not fit in the chair. I will never never ever stay in this hotel again. I have stayed at the Westin in Alexandria and it is fabulous.

The hotel is great, but can get noisy on the weekends. Good luck finding a late night drink or meal close by though — there isn't much around.

I'm a gold member of SPG group but won't recommend this hotel if you have high expectations. Overall service is not good. The worst part is — they won't have evening turn down service. Front desk staff is not much cooperative. Even though I'm a gold member and they have extra rooms available but they won't allow me late checkout after 1 pm. Location is nice as it's near to New Port PATH station.

NY City sights tour
Were a week before Easter in the "the Westin Jersey City Newport" with a total of 5 nights, to look at the highlights of New York.
We selected the Westin in New Jersey, because it is separated by the Hudson River from Manhattan. In hindsight a good low-cost alternative to the expensive hotels in Manhattan. The hotel is located in nearby waterfront financial district of Jersey City and only a few Metro minutes from Times Square. The subway from Newport costs until after Manhattan 1, $75 (Pavonia/Newport PATH station and is located just one block from the hotel. ) We recommend a MetroCard.
Just a few 100 metres from the hotel, shopping centre is Newport Center Mall with over 100 000 square meters, where you can satisfy the hunger for small or even large very well and cheaply. Outside of the hotel (only a few hundred metres), we had a breathtaking view of the skyscrapers of New York and the Hudson River with its many ships/ferries. In the evening, you can very well taking a stroll on the waterfront of the Hudson River, the ambience of the Marina Newport to leave work, or with (there is only one station) drive to the magnificent Hoboken to stroll the PATH train.
The hotel apologises as service on a free shuttle service to attractions in the surrounding area.

After paying extra $9 a day for internet connection, found out the connection is so slow it is unusable for video conferencing. If you need a fast internet connection for work, this is not the place.

Great hotel next to Manhattan.

The best is the location. Newport path train is only 200 meters to go, this takes you to the empire state building or to WTF in just 10 minutes and you are here far away from crazy sirens an traffic nightmare from downtown. The hotel itself is also nice. The only point is the size of the beds. Definitely not normal. We are 2 adults one kid and 2 queen size beds. So for the adults the one bed is way too small for the 2 of us, 120 cm width.

Very clean hotel and safe location. There's a mall right behind the hotel. PATH train and Light Rail are right down the street — just a quick walk. The biggest issue I had was the **Expensive Food*** Salads and sandwiches both were $15-25 each. Don't eat at the hotel, eat elsewhere if you want to save money. If u want a refrigerator or microwave in your room, make sure you check if your rooms will have them first. Mine had neither. Overall I enjoyed staying at the hotel and would go back.
