Our wedding at Grenville Hotel & Restaurant was perfect! The ambiance was warm, the food was amazing and the staff was incredible! Maureen is great and was such a pleasure to work with in planning our wedding. Highly recommend the Grenville for an event or a weekend getaway at the Jersey shore. Our next visit will be very soon for Sunday brunch! Thank you all for a great day!

Went for Mother’s Day brunch yesterday food was cold and horrible and they didn’t even bring all the food out that was on the menu 40 a head was so over priced and again the food was horrible.

Was there for Thanksgiving dinner and it was the worst dinner I ever had, most of the stuff they advertised wasn't even put on the table, The food looked and tasted like they were leftovers from 3 days ago. Had higher expectations for this place but I wouldn't recommend it.

Just had our wedding at the Grenville this past weekend on the outdoor Veranda. Everything was perfect and I could not recommend any more. The entire staff, and specifically Maureen, worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was exactly how my wife wanted it. We will be returning with more celebrations and vacations for years to come!

We stayed 3 nights end of july. The rooms were beautiful and clean. You wont find a nicer staff anywhere. Food was superb. Definitely going back in Sept. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We had my daughter’s bridal shower on March 7, 2020 at the Grenville! It was absolutely beautiful there. Erin was wonderful as well as the two women who helped us with everything (I wish I can remember their names… they were the best! ) They had it all set up for us exactly as we wanted it! They were there helping us throughout the shower! The food was delicious too! The gentleman that made the omelets also did a fantastic job! I cannot say enough on the whole experience with The Grenville and the staff there! My daughter had a perfect day there for her bridal shower! Thank you to everyone at The Grenville!

My fiancé and I were just there as a quick last minute Valentine’s getaway. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful quaint and accommodating this hotel was. We had so much fun and the staff were amazing very personable. We had Sunday Brunch also it was delicious! I Highly Recommend the Grenville, looking forward to going back.

The service was great the manager was great the hostess was great it was an unbelievably beautiful place but the food was absolutely awful and of poor quality it was quite a disappointment.

Perfect room for any special event! We had a bridal shower here, Erin was so easy to work with even with our endless questions in the weeks leading up to the event. Gerry and Lisa were wonderful servers the whole day as well and went above and beyond helping us set up everything prior to the event and cleaning up at the end. The food was delicious and hot and drinks were never empty!

Staff was very accommodating and location was perfect! loved that beach chairs umbrellas and Beach passes where all included in the stay. The morning breakfast was also a very nice touch! we will be back again next year for our family vacation!

Had my daughters bridal shower here 8/18/19. The food was tasty and plentiful. The staff was awesome, accommodating and very friendly to all our guests. I would absolutely recommend The Grenville to anyone of my friends. Thank you Erin for all your help in making this day perfect. 10 stars to you!

I love that the hotel is dog friendly and they provide everything you need if you’d like to walk to the beach including beach chairs, towels and umbrellas and an excellent location! The staff is very friendly and the food is very good!

My bridal shower was at the Grenville last weekend. I've never been there befor. It was perfect. The entire staff was so helpful and personable, it felt like they knew us. Everything was setup very nice and the food was excellent. Definitely recommend and look forward to heading back for a brunch sometime soon.

Great Bridal Shower Brunch. Our friends and family enjoyed a beautiful morning at the Grenville. The room was done very nice, the food was great and Maureen and the staff were more then accommodating and attentive. I would highly recommend. Excellent location, beautiful old hotel. Room we had was comfortable but very small. Extras like beach towels, chairs and umbrellas add to charm. Just don't expect an ultra modern experience.

We were very happy with our stay! The room was adorable and clean. We chose this place due to their "pet friendly" status and found them to be very inviting to both our human family and our dog family. Beach passes are included and the adjacent beach was perfect for our small family. We will likely be back next season for a longer stay!

Wow. So let me start by saying the rooms are small but cute. However my wife had to clean mildew off the shower head and the sink leaked from the faucet. But none of that really bothered us. What bothered us was the fact that u couldn’t relax on the beach because the flies literally landed on your legs 30 or 40 at a time and bit u. We had to stay in the water to avoid getting bit. So relaxing on our honeymoon out of the question. The staff doesn’t tell u about the flies so u can prepare for it. Because it’s all about the money for them but what they don’t realize is word of mouth will kill your business. Happy guests return and unhappy ones well they tell 10 people who tell 10 people. Get my point? Stay away from the jersey shore. Go somewhere else like cape cod if u want a relaxing beach vacation.

The staff was very nice and the menu had a wide selection. We were offered specials of the day and when we ordered two of them we were told they were each not available that day. Once we did get our food it was enjoyable. Our waitress was very nice!

I can not thank the amazing team at the Grenville for their services. Yesterday we hosted my sisters Bridal Shower there. From start to finish it was an easy process. The customer service was outstanding and the location was beautiful. Marissa, Bailey and Maddie were our waitstaff and I cannot give enough praises about them. Very kind and willing to help in anyway that they could! We will def be returning and will def host another party there! Thank you all so much for your hospitality and for a great experience!

Very affordable brunch. For 15 dollars, it's well worth the price, and includes non alcoholic drinks. Service is mediocre and they do a less than stellar job of keeping simple things like plates and utensils updated, but for the price it's a decent option.

The elevator is not working, the shower breaks down when you start it, carpets are dirty, if you shower with hot water the fire alarm starts, the stair stink. In need of extreme renovation.

The pink house — quaint restaurant. I was here for an event so did not see a full menu. Sound system was poor. The food was meh… Will try it again for brunch sometime.

We went to The Grenville for brunch to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. It was perfect! The staff was very accommodating and helped make the day special! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I can’t thank them enough for a beautiful birthday brunch!

We went for brunch. They had other events they were preparing for and seemed a bit understaffed. They refreshed the food slowly on the buffet. But with large parties going through it needed a bit more refreshing. The chicken and fish were nice, and my daughter loved the chocolate fountain. The location was beautiful.

We are holding our wedding reception at the Grenville. The service has been excellent and the owners are friendly. They have already offered to go above and beyond to make it a special experience. The location is quiet as it is near a private beach. They do not have on property parking but said they rarely have issues with on-street parking. They are close to convenience stores and fast food. I recommend them!

Went for the Easter Brunch. I was so excited. I had always wanted to eat here Food was bland and cold. The desert table looked like someone ran to the nearest grocery store and bought cookies and crumb cake. The chocolate fountain had marshmallows, pretzels and Oreos. I was expecting more upscale.

I have passed by this establishment many times in my travels through the lovely & upscale town of Bay Head. Thought it would be a lovely setting for an Easter Brunch with some friends. Well… yes & no. A 3:00 seating was a good time. However even with reservations our party of 4 had to wait in a line to be seated. We were led to the verenda area to a small, cramped table right in the way of other patrons on the buffet line. The building otself is in dire need of a makeover as the interior is old and somewhat shoddy compared to today's standards of accommodations. The food was plentiful with frequent replacements. It was unremarkable for quality though. The Sea Bass was filled with assorted shellfish to act as a filler. Other offerings were mediocre at best. On the positive side our servers two young college/high school age girls were pleasant and attentive. Would I go back? Probably not as a first choice. Sad to see what I thought of on passing as an upscale hotel/restaurant in an upscale town was disappointing.

The hotel was beautiful and right by the beach. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was delicious.

Having been there before and always having a good experience, I had my elderly parents stay there while their electricity was out at there house. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed both the room and the "fabulous" (mom's review) food. Proprietors Harry and Maureen went out of their way to make their stay comfortable. Highly recommend.

Nice Sunday brunch at a reasonable price at this quaint old time beach hotel.

Went for Christmas dinner buffet. No appetizers, no carving station. Minimal selection of food which was self-serve. The kitchen staff were dressed in sloppy t-shirts. Buffet table was not maintained so food dropped on table was left there. The desert table was gross. Soooo disappointing! Never again!

Sadly, the chef doesn't even know how to cook a staek. Asked for medium rare, got well done. They have had issues before. The place is nice. The staff is nice. The kitchen needs help.

We thoroughly enjoyed our post labor day stay at The Grenville Hotel. It was just what we were looking for, down to earth guests and staff in an historic setting with amenities that were just enough to add comfort; walking distance to beach and good restaurants made our stay! Dinner our first nite was tasty and generous portions. We brought our own wine.

Been going here for three years in a row for vacation. If you are used to the Ritz or Trump Tower you may be disappointed. However, if you want a Victorian atmosphere, clean and good sized rooms close to a nice and uncrowded beach with only a one minute walk to get to and a staff that is great, this is the place for you. The Point Pleasant boardwalk is one mile away and Seaside Heights is about nine miles away. The hotel is in a real nice area and its fun to walk through the neighborhood and admire all the beautiful homes. We have never been disappointed with any of our stays and we are already looking forward to next year!

Well it is a wonderful and historic place. They have a wonderful brunch on Sundays and it is a bring-your-own and the hotel they just redid bed and breakfast is really really good.! Check it out and it's close to the beach. Bay Head.

Very nice older hotel. Beautiful inside. We ate at the Sunday brunch and was very good. Very busy but friendly staff. Sit on the porch to eat and take in the view.

I love that this place is from the 1800s and has lots of history. Lots of paranormal activity going on in the hotel, which I love. But every time I'm even inside the room, my head always​ hurts because of the negative spirits in the hotel. I love the 3rd floor the most because it has the most activity like" little children running and laughing" and I know it's the ghosts because I've heard many stories that they've seen apparations of the Victorian family that once owned this hotel. Their kids died very young so sometimes the kids come back and play hence of hearing noises of child laughter; footsteps, light flickering etc so I love the fact that even if I come alone here, im kind of not alone. Food is great. Love the breakfast, nice cozy room and love the fact that the beach is right there and a beautiful dock. Definitely would return.

We unfortunately had the unfortunate pleasure of staying here last night. My wife and I travel alot all over the country amd this is by far the very worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We have no idea how this place is in buisness! We checked in and out room was extremely dirty and freezing! There was no heat in the room whatsoever! So we complained and got another room and it wasn't much better. The only good thing it wasn't as dirty this, room actually had heat. I can go in and on how bad this place is but I'll save my breath. Do NOT stay here period. This place great bones and if the right person buys it it could be, a nice quaint beach town hotel BUT until that happens dont stay there!

Big portions, friendly staff, and good food. I prefer sitting on the porch, but the inside is nice as well. I'd suggest the gnocchi, but substitute the sauce for their chunky vodka sauce.

Had a wonderful brunch buffet. Great selection with a custom omelette station and chocolate fountain.

We came here for a weekend getaway and it was incredible. Harry, who owns this place is amazing. He is extremely helpful and creates a very nice hospitable environment for guests. This place has an elevator and a very cozy restaurant. We came here with our pet. Our pet had a very comfortable stay. Overall excellent customer service and really nice place. Also has acceas to beach. Totally worth it!

I used to think of Grenville Hotel as a classy place with fairly good food. After our Thanksgiving buffet dinner there this year, I will remember it as much like the Mantoloking Fire Company breakfasts that we used to take our kids to in the summer. The main difference is that the fire company breakfasts had better service and were ultimately more fun. The buffet was laid out in what appeared to be the deck. The lighting was very poor. The presentation was extremely sloppy. The kitchen staff bringing out the food was surly and appeared unkempt and sweaty. The dishes were not all clean. The napkins and cutlery were pedestrian, at best. All of the above would have been forgotten had the food been even just good. It was not. So, why 2 stars and not 1? Well, we didn't have to cook nor clean. And nobody got sick.

Not really sure what is going on with a hotel that is considered 'historic': what we got for a dinner was mediocre and strange. $$$ experience felt like eating at an old aunts house, kept forgetting I was actually even at a restaurant. Didn't even want to see the hotel, drab entrance was plenty for me to recognize there is no investment or pride going into this establishment.

What is there not to like about this place. Food, ambiance, customer service, room was fantastic. Stayed 3 nights wish I could have stayed more. Dinner and brunch were great. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay and for treating us like family. Will definitely be back!
