The Saddle Brook Marriott was a comfortable and relaxing stay, which was very nice for the business trip I was on. This review is from the point of view of a gold member so your status level and perks may vary. During check in I was greeted with a warm smile and a cold bottle of water, this was quite nice and I'm very grateful after a long flight and travel day. The room was clean, well appointed, the bed comfortable, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The concierge lounge on the third floor had nice snacks starting at 530pm and they brought out sweets around 730pm to finish the evening. Finally, breakfast was decent early in the morning, nothing really to write home about for breakfast, but in general it was a nice free perk. I would certainly recommend staying here again if in the area.

I would not recommend Saddle Brook Marriott. Even though room was nice and clean, front desk people gave me attitude. TV didn’t work in the room. They charged me 40$ extra after I checked out for room service and I wasn’t even told from beginning. I travel a lot but I’ve never seen any hotel charging you extra for cleaning the room, it’s always included in price. I went through a lot of trouble with this hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend the Marriott in Saddle Brook! God forgive them for lying to people!

I'm hesitant to rate places that I frequent often because I generally have an allegiance… But this Marriott skews good or meh depending on where in the renovation cycle they are. They have such high turnover because of location so it's always busy.

Very polite service with great attention to hygiene. And the beds are absolutely comfy. And while in a slightly awkward location (to me at least) gives access to wherever you need to be within the area in 10 minutes. Very good. I can't wait for next year to come back!

Very clean. Great staff. Got stuck in a room by the pool when a field trip or something was going on. Can't really blame the hotel for that though just bad timing.

Worst stay ever. Stay far awayyyyy! From the beginning the front desk man was a straight douche. We reserved for a double bed and they gave us a king. How the heck are we supposed to sleep when there is 5 of us!?!? The man was super rude about it and even worse he probably gave us the worst room! Every morning at 6am kids start screaming and yelling in the pool which is literally right outside our room because it is an indoor pool the noise sounds ten time more loud! To add to this the hotel room was dirty as heck especially the bathroom. Again stay awayyyyyyyyyy. Never again…

To be Marriot not great but good.

There are pros and cons of this hotel. The pros are the staff — — they are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean. The pool is indoors. The room rates tend to be pretty good, and the hotel is very convenient to NYC. The cons are really just the condition of the hotel — — not so much "worn" as just "old. " The hotel is in need of a facelift. Actually, more of an overhaul. The bathrooms have 1960s-style exposed plumbing, with almost no counter space (although they try to make up for it with some shelf space). The doors are worn, the paint is old, and the room layout is very 1990s. Marriott has ignored this property for too long; it's time to update it.

Great service, comfortable rooms and convenient location.

Awesome experience. Had to stay an extra day because of a snow storm. Every accommodating and even removed snow from all the guest cars for free. Amazing customer service.

This is a very nice hotel. My family spent the night when my daughter got married 2 years ago.

Warm & inviting, especially when you have no power & just had to go thru an impossible journey to get out of the house. Restaurant was good, easy to get to. Would definitely go back, under more pleasant circumstances.

Very helpful place and polite people. I had two issues and got help for both. One my luggage was locked, TSA agents in Florida thought it was a good idea to lock my bags, well I could have been if I only had the key, The hotel personnel took care of that cutting the lock for me quickly at not extra charge. Second issue: I forgot a pair of shoes in the hotel room. Granted, they did not find the shoes, the housekeeping department where so thorough looking for it and calling me back several times to let me know the shoes were not found that I am impress with their dedication, they are busy as it is but Gladys made sure that the shoes where not overlooked in the room and called me like 4 times to let me know that she looked everywhere and unfortunately no shoes. I appreciate good customer service and that is why the five stars are given. Good lasting business are build by the people who run them not by the profit. Thanks for taking care of us in our staying in your location!

Horrible I found a dirty washcloth hangging in the bathroom. The room felt very dirty! The whole place smells of curry and no offense to the Indians there but they really need to bath. Smelled bad in the elevators at breakfast. Looks like the imported their family from India and let them all work there and live there. Awful never again. Don't eat the buffet I got so sick!

This is the worse hotel. Their front desk and accounting are incompentent. No one can help when there is a problem. They messed up my charge and say the return will show in 10 to 14 days. Never showed. It took one day to post, yet its 14 days to post a return. Even sending a basic email is hard for them. Horrible service. They also checked me out ahead of time without even notifying me just because I was out for the day.

I want to commend the staff and especially my maid for a rare experience of honesty. I was distracted by a phone call and inadvertently left my iPad on the nightstand upon departure. A panicked call from the airport was answered by a yes they had found it and it was at the front desk. Reviews on this hotel are always positive about staff and service, I would like to echo this with deep appreciation for the actions of the staff that day.

We booked 3 rooms… this was the worst Marriott I've stayed at in my life. Very loud guests next door. From loud talking to sounds of sexual activity ALL NIGHT and the security came to their room a couple of times. They should've been escorted off the property. This hotel is older but not too bad. We was out all day and came back to get in the bed, there was a HUGE bug in the bed. I wish the staff would've handled the situation better, they didn't even adjust my bill for my inconvenience of not getting any sleep and having to hear a woman moan all night. I will stay here never again! Not to mention there was hair in the shower and dirty shower doors.

I had a very good stay. Loved the room very clean. Everyone was very nice.

The staff was very welcoming. The girls at the front desk were polite, professional, and friendly. The service at the restaurant in the morning was very at amazing. Rooms are a good size. Bed very comfortable. My only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because of the decor in the place. It was a bit dated but overall clean.

Conveniently located, modern hotel with a very friendly staff, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. I stayed for a weekend but would also recommend this hotel for business as well.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. Everything looked modern like it had recently been remodeled which was very nice. The TV service was really good too. Its also conveniently close to a Dunkin donuts and only 5 minutes away from juicy platters!

We stayed for a wedding at a close venue. Rooms and hotel was nice. Staff was friendly. Shuttle to wedding was great. Only issue was the indoor pool made our floor smell like chlorine. Thankfully could not smell in the room, only the hallways.

Clean, well-appointed room. Comfortable bed and lounge chair. Well-insulated walls. Clean bathroom with a sliding door. Very professional staff. Only 4 negatives: 1. People in the guest room can hear all noises from the bathroom. 2. The bathroom is not well ventilated. 3. The room door is heavy and hard to open. 4. Guests can hear traffic from I-80 or the parkway.

A nice hotel with a convenient location off the interstate. The room didn't have a mini-fridge or facial tissues but otherwise everything was in order. The bar was better priced than I anticipated and the boom boom shrimp was delicious.

What a great hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves up great food, as does room service. Hotel is clean and comfortable, and very well maintained inside and out.

I attend many business functions here and frequently stay overnight. The accommodations are excellent as is the staff. The catered lunches and dinners are quite delicious and plentiful.

Don't come stay here go somewhere that is ACTUALLY WORTH YOUR DOLLAR. Heater doesn't work, tubs don't drain properly, pipes rattle, rooms are small even if you get a king "made for a family"…, and I was under the impression that there was free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast since you're buying a room for over $100 at least… I'm extremely disappointed in this place. The breakfast you pay for sucks and I'm sorry but having cops standing by the elevator when people first check in does not make the environment feel safe. The pool is tiny also. I think the only thing I actually liked about this place was there pillows…

Easy access from highway would be an advantage. Food was nice. Ambience ok.

This hotel is a lot worse than terrible. When I wanted to book it online, it was written that this hotel has FREE breakfast and FREE wireless in rooms. But there isn't even free wireless in rooms! You have to pay 13$ per day to have wireless. The rooms are really small in comparison to other Marriotts. The bathroom is too small that there isn't any space between toilet, sink and bath tub. They put towels under the sink on a broken glass and beside water pipe! The sink is also broken! I'm surprised how could it get 3.5 stars in Priceline! I believe it's — 3.5 stars! It's no better than Best Western in NJ which only has 1 star. I give only 1 star to this hotel only because of its workers 'cause they're polite and responsive.

I went for an event. There was no sign to direct me to the event which I thought was odd, but I followed the hallway signs for the ballrooms and looked at the different rooms to figure it out. The room was a bit cold but everything was nice. I didn't eat there or interact with the staff, except for one staff member hitting on my married friend. Lol.

Living here, the only reason the hotel from the airport is very close. Room is very small. The corridor is not very good. I'm at 3 p. M. Breakfast, room service is not good. Here are some local, currently still in construction, you know that night at 6. Heard the noise. The hotel also can. The hotel provides Newark train commuter service, every 20 minutes cycle time.

The lobby, bar, and restaurant are fantastic. The food is great and the wine selection is hard to beat. I wish they would update the rooms a bit more though.

I stayed there for a wedding recently. The hotel was very nice and staff was very friendly. I was disappointed by 2 things though. 1: I did not receive my wedding favors (I spoke with the bridal party and they had plenty left and said that they were not all handed out like they should have been by the hotel staff) and 2: There was no free Wi-Fi available or atl least they didn't give me access when I checked in. I fee like in this day and age and especially since this was a nicer hotel it Wi-Fi should have been provided (why is it cheaper hotels can afford to do this but higher end ones cannot? ) Overall I enjoyed my one night stay but with I had those 2 things.

Very disappointing for a Marriott. The tub didn't drain properly. The AC/heat blows right in your face when you lay in bed. There were no outlets near the bed. You could hear everything that went on in the hallway (and it sounded like a fiesta out there). Basic internet cost $12.95/day. I would expect to have this sort of experience in a hotel that charges $75/night, not $250/night.

Overpriced. Decent service.

I had my wedding at the Venetian in Garfield, NJ this past weekend and the hotel was the only downside to the entire wedding. The staff doesn't know how to treat people. I'm surprised the Venetian even recommends this hotel. With about 40 rooms booked the staff was threatening to call cops on multiple guests for I guess being drunk after a wedding. I've never seen anything like it. My one friend actually got arrested because he didn't have a room key being that he was staying in a room with another friend. The hotel is also outdated for the prices they charge. The lobby and bar area put on a good facade but once you head upstairs everything is very out dated. We stayed in their "Governer's Suite". The only thing it had going for it was that it was big. I called the manager the following day telling him he needed to teach his staff how to treat people and I was just "ok'd and yes'd" the whole time. If you are ever getting married in the area do not pick this hotel… especially if it's the Venetian. We went from top notch everything to the worst hotel experiences I've ever seen. Being a businessman myself I'm sure JW Marriott would be very disappointed in this hotels performance.

I have no idea about the negative reviews for this property. I've been to Marriots all over the world and this property is just like all of them. Super clean, great updated lobby and rooms, great pool! The staff was so caring and attentive. Loved our stay and look forward to coming back.

Staff was very friendly, room service is really fast and the food was great. Serving sizes are small and there is 20% service charge, but the speed and quality make it worth the money. The pool was awesome, always nice and warm and was never crowded. The bed is insanely confortable, all feather down from the comforter to the pillows. Very quiet hotel as a lot of people go for business. All in all, positives are the service, quality, and cleanliness. Not five stars because the price is out of proporation with the room. Paid:174, 201w/tax, for one bed king size. I had a great time so close to home but it feels like you are far from the stress of daily life. Would return again because of the friendly staff, bed, and pool.

Simply disgusting hotel! I booked a room for my husband and my baby to just relax for a few days but who could relax in a bed smelling like it just came out of a dumpster?! Also, I asked for a crib for my baby and it also smelled like it was out in the rain for ages! The bathrooms were very dirty, the rug had wet spots here and there and to top it all off, my husband got bug bites from sleeping in that disgusting bed. When I think of that horrible order in the bed and how disgusting everything was, I just twitch. The hitel looks very nice in the lobby but once you go to the rooms everything is super old and very dirty. We decided to leave the very next day because I couldnt stand another second in that room. They refunded me my money in a check because I paid cash but the staff didnt do one single thing to address my concerns or to make me leave with a good impression of the staff, because there wasnt much they could do anyway, besides remodel the entire hotel and buy everything new. We then left to another hotel which was much better in price and was super clean and new. I made sure we all took a really good shower afterwards. It is safe to safe I will never be staying in a Marriott Hotel ever again.

The cleaning staff was nice, but beds are very old and worn out. After we checked in and called front desk about possibly changing our room they told us they were all the same. Spoke to manager when we checked out and he said he was sorry but didn't offer any resolution. Also called corporate, spoke to a Terrell he was very unprofessional and rude and showed no empathy for my discomfort. I will reconsider ever staying with Marriott more for their lack of concern and problem resolution. I had to drive eight hours after my stay here in terrible pain.

Check in was fast and easy, staff was very friendly. Room was nice, bed was very comfortable.

After trying to determine if my professional society group had a discounted booking and without finding them listed, I asked if they could just read me the names of groups listed for that weekend. Young lady hung up on me.

Nice hotel that has been recently remodeled and is still in process of remodeling Pool and Gym. Gym is rather large. Concierge is nice and willing to try new suggestions. Location is central to everything but absolutely not walkable. Nice trail half mile north east that runs over to Westfield mall a rather large location.

Love this hotel and staff! The restaurant staff, especially Stella and Carol, are friendly and warm. The rooms are clean and very nice.

Worth. Every. Penny. Wow. Amazingly front desk. Found my Kayak reservation immediately and didnt require me to fill out any additional paperwork. Forgot toiletries — no worries they have it covered. When I walked in I immediately saw a very open and ambient lounge/restaurant. But I thought I'd eat something other than room service (which was tempting after reading the menu — including wine) they had a whole drawer of freshly printed area menus. Room is spectacular. Ambient air. Large clean room. Comfy bed and chairs. And finally — a hotel up to the Internet age. Outlets aren't hidden behind furniture but gracefully accessible. There's a power strip near the desk for hard wiring into the Internet along with Bluetooth into the t. V. (I think) and a Wi-Fi keyboard. Flat panel t. V. And not locked inside a bulky armoire. Soothing decor and a modern clean bathroom with bells and whistles like aromatherapy shampoo. There's a nice breakfast menu with options for 15 minute increments of delivery. Hair dryer that isn't screwed to the wall like the 80's. Only complaint — no fridge. I could use a little fridge. Love this place.

I am sure this is a great hotel and most of the time a great place to stay. This past weekend the hotel had a theft where a purse was stolen from the bar area and returned to security with items missing from the purse. The hotel did a very poor job in trying to figure out what exactly happened. The management and corporate staff did a great job in placing blame on everyone else except themselves. They classify the inside of their hotel as a public place and everything that occurs on the premise as not their responsibility. My only goal was them to try to figure out what happened not for them to provide any sort of compensation or anything like that. They did absolute terrible job in all aspects of any sort of investigation. Basically, if anything bad happens they will quickly be the first people to use all sort of legal jargon and politically proper wordings so they don't have to take any responsibility of what happened probably because as you know hotels are built on reputation. This hotel has huge weddings on the weekends where you will have all sorts of people coming in and out without the proper security to prepare for that. Again, I am sure normally this hotel is pretty safe, but if you are going to be collecting $60, 000 — $80, 000 for a wedding weekend you need to have the proper protocols in place, if you do have some bad apples enter your hotel.

This is agreat place to stay, the staffers are all about makeing it a the right selection. Good food. Cold beer. And clean rooms. Add this to the big smiles and you have a winner.

Hotel was nice but staff is really incompetent. Mistakenly charged my credit card for $318.00 and I am trying to get the hold removed. They stated they called the bank twice but the bank has no record of that and the hold is still there — — eventually the hold will hopefully fall of on its own but in the mean time that money is tied up! Be careful with the staff especially dealing with Casey and a manager who goes by the name of Anthony.
