Very cozy lodge. Located near a great Mountain to ski (Stowe), close to some amazing local restaurants and the staff and owners are so friendly and helpful. They make you feel right at home. Definitely recommend this lodge!

Very nice, great breakfast and great atmosphere!

We came here on our long weekend vacation. The owners were awesome to deal with! Any issue that we had they listened and fixed it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pools were always crystal clear without any overpowering chlorine smell. The Breakfast buffet was delicious and piping hot. I am looking forward to the next time I come back to Vermont!

I was very impressed with how well the building and grounds were kept up. The staff were very pleasant. I love the rustic feel. I would recommend this place to anyone! 5 stars.

Keepers of this lodge, Michael and Shannon, know the amenities matter more than the cosmetics. So, while Northern Lights looks a bit worn, albeit comfortably so, its virtues abound: much lower rates than its surrounding competition, good chocolate chip cookies available in the lobby, ultra-clean & well kept rooms and, on top of it all, a free and ample breakfast buffet every day. Having stayed here this past weekend, I would go nowhere else on my future trips to Stowe and I would encourage others in the same direction!

Hotel is run down looking but definitely a warm relaxing and comfortable place. Staff and service always on top of it! Great breakfast and even have homemade cookies daily at check in and apple sconces at breakfast are amazing! Definitely coming back!

An under appreciated place. Location is great, the manager/front desk and staff are wonderful. Hot breakfast is included, it’s tasty and ample. The place has two swimming pools, one heated inside and another outside, all clean and maintained. Given one star less as rooms are dated. The rooms were not dirty per se, but they demand a better up-keeping and cleaning. This should not take away anything. We stayed in the main building, can’t say about the rooms on the other side. We will be staying here again next time.

Service was great, breakfast was yummy, and the whole hotel smelled great. It was a really homey hotel, and the pools were really nice. Complimentary cookies too! Oh and if you are into paranormal stuff, check out Emily's Bridge.

Great family style lodge! Loved the breakfast dining area, food was great. The pool and hot tub were amazing! The pool was very clean, the room was also clean. A little different style wise then I thought it would be. The owner was so kind and curteous. Let us know where to find everything, very accomodating. So pleased with our visit. Thank you so much.

First time in the Stowe area (8/9/18-8/11/18), and used Trip Advisor for ratings when considering my booking. Norther Lights Lodge is an absolute GEM! Michael and Shannon the innkeepers are friendly and welcoming, and always attentive to any need you may have. Rooms were immaculately clean, decor was a rustic Austrian theme, beds and pillows were comfortable, A/C was ice cold, and there isn't a single complaint from me. There's an indoor pool that was crystal clear and clean, as well as a family room/game room available (with board games provided, as well as foosball and arcade games for a nominal cost), washers/dryers, and ice machines that were never empty. I can't recommend Northern Lights Lodge enough, and can't wait to return to the Stowe area again!

We had a great stay. Next time we will stay more than one night. Rooms are clean and spacious. The indoor pool is warm and refreshing. The owner was genuinely friendly.

Currently staying with our 4 boys, ages 2 1/2 — 10. We all love it here. Owners are very nice and helpful with telling about local places to visit. Kids (and us) would like to come back every year. Our room is very nice, I personally love the wood on walls, makes it feel very outdoorsy. If we do come back to Vermont we will definitely stay here again.

The indoor pool area is amazing. The breakfast is beyond delicious.

Very clean. Comfortable bed. Bus stop right in front that takes you right to the curb at the mountain. Breakfast included was great. Sausage, eggs, potatoes, cereal, scones, toast, coffee and assortment of juices. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere and the breakfast complete with freshly baked muffins and scones! A nice place to relax after a day on the slopes.

Room was very clean, the front desk was nice and incredibly helpful. The room beat my expectations. The hot tub and heated pool are nice. Well positioned easy to get to Stowe Resort as well as into the town with a quick drive. There is also a bus/shuttle right outside.

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying here the week before Christmas. The couple that runs the Northern Lights Lodge does a fantastic job and really pays attention to details. We got a nice surprise when we checked in and the owner told us that we had booked on a "buy three get one night free" promotion that we actually didn't know about until we got there. Also, we were very impressed with the breakfast. The breakfast is fresh cooked daily, with real potatoes, eggs, and sausage and either real blueberry pancakes or french toast. There was also a juice bar, fresh baked muffins and scones, and coffee with real cream. It was a great, delicious way to fill up before hitting the slopes. Other great features included: cute fireplace area with games, fresh baked cookies in the lobby, and a nice pool and hot tub area that is kept very clean. The one draw back to our stay was that our room was crowded and we could hear neighbors easily. But, we enjoyed the lodge enough that we would be happy to stay here again!

Lovely place to stay. Proximity to the mountain and town is perfect. We thought the room was nice and the breakfast was fantastic all with a fair price. Would absolutely stay again.

Had a great welcoming experience at Northern Lights Lodge. The owners were very helpful at providing suggestions for dining and attractions. Breakfast spread was good and included in room price and pool area was very clean and had a sauna and hot tub. Would definitely go again!

Really nice family that runs the Lodge. Excellent full breakfast every morning. Very yummy. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. We have already stayed there twice. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet, clean, and a great breakfast! I was very much satisfied with my stay at Northern Lights. It is located on the outskirts of town, away from the noise and busyness of the downtown area. On first impression, the building has seen quite a few winters, but I found it well maintained and clean. The innkeepers and staff were helpful and courteous and went out of their way to give me any information I needed. The lobby always had tea and coffee available, along with homemade cookies. I had a value room with queen size bed, air conditioner and refrigerator. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, I had a good view of the lawn behind the front building, and it was very quiet at night. Another plus, was that I was able to park my vehicle within a few steps of my front door. The breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold items; I would say that it was the best hotel breakfast that I have ever encountered. They really did an excellent job with that. I stayed for three nights and had wished I could have stayed longer.

We loved staying at Northern Lights for fall leaves. So close to Stowe Village and Stowe Mountain. The lodge was perfect. Homey romes, pools, game room and always fresh cookies, muffins, scones, and breakfast. The rooms on the river have the great natural sound of the river. Super close to Ben and Jerry's, Cold Hollow Apple Cider and so much more to see. Our favorite was the purveyor and family making our stay feel like home.

Due to a family emergency, we are forced to change plans and cancel our reservation at this hotel 5 days in advance instead of fourteen. This hotel is unwilling to work with us to refund the money due to our unexpected family illness. The manager is smug and has no remorse for the situation and only offered a credit for a mid week non-peak time. Knowing it is peak season, it also should not be a problem to fill our slot. They will make our room money along with another patrons'. As we explained to the manager, we plan to reschedule as soon as our family is well. He did not care and we will not be rebooking at this hotel and will recommend to all family and friends headed to this area to book at another location.

Not if, but rather when I come back to Stowe, VT, I will definitely stay again at Northern Lights Lodge. I arrived with my family a bit late in the night and was warmly welcomed and accommodated by Mike, who patiently waited for our arrival. The lodge had a very homely and warm ambiance. The rooms were cozy and clean. Also, when we arrived there was amazing cookies in the main lobby, but oh man don't get me started on breakfast in the morning. It was prepared fresh and deliciously for a great start to your morning in the charming town of Stowe. Before we left in the morning, Mike provided us with very informative recommendations on greats places to go and things to do. Mike also went out of his way to insure I was able to leave Vermont with a state exclusive souvenir that I was desperately searching for. I couldn't thank him enough for his friendliness and wonderful accommodation. He really cares for his guests and provides incredible hospitality. I will eventually return to the beautiful state of Vermont and you bet I'm staying at Northern Lights Lodge! P. S. They have a pool and a hot tub… uhh heck yes!

This is the best place to stay in Stowe! The rooms are super clean and cozy! The breakfast is outstanding! The scones and muffins are my favorite! There are 2 pools and a hot tub! Did I mention free cookies?! Michael and Shannon are the best hosts you could ask for. The staff are always accommodating and rooms are well equipped. There is even an outdoor grill to use and washer and dryers if needed. My husband and I love the location and chairs outside our room to sit. If you are ever in Stowe, stay here!

Northern Lights Lodge has everything one would need to comfortably vacation away from home including an amazing buffet breakfast. The staff was very friendly and the owners seemed genuinely dedicated to making our stay at their lodge the best they could. We stayed in a basic room with a king bed. The room was adorable, rustic, clean, and comfortable. It had a larger sized minifridge which was perfect for holding our late night drinks and snacks. We didn't use the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, but they looked awesome as we passed over the bridge leading over the pool to get to breakfast each morning. The location is phenomenal… a quick drive to town, to The Alchemist, or up the mountain. We visit Stowe every few years and are so looking forward to booking here again.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The kiddos loved the bunk beds, the indoor pool and the complementary cookies. The hubby and I loved the hot tub, the friendly owners & staff and the hot breakfast buffet. We didn't want to leave!

We LOVED Northern Lights Lodge. Amazing staff, perfect location in Stowe, and very reasonable room rates. They have a homemade breakfast every morning and fresh cookies out in the lobby basically all day. Definitely would recommend to anyone! If we come back to Vermont we will 100% stay here again.

This lodge is wonderfully staffed. They are friendly and ready to take care of you. The breakfast is included and very tasty. The scenery is beautiful! Worth the visit and stay if you are heading to Vermont.

Very nice breakfast! Walls are thin though so ask for a room away from the front of the lodge where there is considerable street and fellow guest noise. Owners/operators are friendly and accommodating. Super close to bike path and other activities/amenities. Room is a mix of updated and "vintage" decor.

I really enjoyed my stay at Northern lodge. Location was close to everything in stowe. Short walk to rec path plenty of great restaurants the new alchemist brewing company right down the street. Staff was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. And best of all free breakfast. I look forward to coming back. Hopefully I can make my way back during the fall foliage and snowboard season.

Good hotel. Decent sized rooms we got a room with a king and a bunk bed. They have an indoor pool, plenty of parking and is close to most things you would want do in Stowe. The fare also includes breakfast.

Awesome Ski Lodge with indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, and an awesome breakfast buffet. Shuttle service to Stowe and half way between Sugarbush and Smuggler's Notch. A great place to set up base camp and enjoy North-Central Vermont's best ski areas.

Don't expect the Hilton. It's a privately-run little place. Good pool, nice hot tub, rooms are neat and clean, best breakfast buffet around! Cannot beat the price!

If you like small businesses and a dearth of chains, Stowe is your place, and Northern Lights Lodge is an excellent place to stay. The innkeepers are incredibly nice and helpful — — ready to dole out recommendations of where to visit. Breakfast is better than any that i've had at any other hotel (big or small). Great location as well — — we went up Mt. Mansfield and visited Bingham Falls, which I think are less than a mile away from the lodge. And if you get bored you can just chill in the pool or hot tub. Top it off with a cookie baked by the innkeepers, and I think you have a winner.

This was my first time visiting Vermont and what a wonderful state! My husband's second time to Vermont and again enjoyed the visit for a family wedding. We had a wonderful experience staying at the Northern Lights Lodge. The hosts of the lodge were extremely pleasant and helpful in providing us information on where to go for activities and the better restaurants to explore in Stowe. The lodge was simply beautiful from the inside to the outside to include the landscaping, rooms were cosy and clean. We enjoyed the pool, sauna and jacuzzi! Great breakfasts to include the morning variety of scones! We would absolutely return to their lodge! Thank you Mike, Shannon and staff for a wonderful stay! Rick and Bridgette.

We just stayed there for the second time and will certainly return again. The location is perfect. Minutes from the mountain. The room was clean and the bathroom recently updated. We loved the hot tub and pool. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious. Blueberry pancakes, waffles, bacon. Hot cider, coffee and cookies available throughout the day. We were able to hang out with two other families in the lodge where there was a warm fire. My daughter had an injury while skiing and they were incredibly accommodating. I rated it so high based on the affordability, location and GREAT breakfast. I don't usually bother writing reviews but after reading a couple negative reviews I felt compelled to describe my positive experience.

This place totally exceeded my expectations. Stayed there for nearly a week to ski. Excellent rates, awesome staff, soothing pool and sauna to rest after a heavy day or skiing, and an amazing breakfast every morning! Can't wait to go back next year! :D.

We stayed July 3-July 7 2014. When I entered the room, was a bad odor. Than started looking around, on the ceiling was boogers in bedroom and bathroom. Was a dirty cup, by the headboard by bed. Went into the bathroom, was hair all over toilet, with pink stuff. There was toothpaste on wall by the sink, and under the sink on board, was so much dirt. Best of all, there was so much black mold around the base of the bathroom wall, it wasn't funny. Basic cable as well with lines threw a lot of channels. Had a hard time locking the door, and walls were paper thin, you could hear noise from your neighbors. The front desk guy was decent. But I so would not rent again there.

I stayed here with a friend in mid-January of 2014. The innkeeper was incredibly friendly and accessible. The pool and hot-tub were open late and in very good condition. Room was exactly what we were looking for, with a DVD player integrated into the television. Breakfast was served exactly when expected and was delicious! Innkeeper allowed us to use shower, hot tub, and pool after a long day of skiing, after we had checked out of the hotel that morning. Would definitely recommend, and will certainly be staying here again in the future.

Place is perfect for skiing. Minutes from the mountain, awesome breakfast, hot tub. Rooms are clean and you can't beat the price anywhere else in town for the value. Stay here.

Terrible stay. No hot water for two nights. The bathroom was probably the dirtiest ive ever seen a bathroom, the blankets had hair on them and the locks dont work. Easily one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The only thing good about this dump was that it was only a mile from the mountain, but save yourself some money and a ton of aggravation and stay somewhere else.
