We had a very enjoyable and delicious anniversary lunch at CHI. More that just an iconic Newport landmark, we found the service exemplary on every front. Michaela, our server and Tyler, our valet were terrific!

Drinks on the Lawn a lovely experience, comfortable Adirondack chairs overlooking the spectacular water, myriad sailing vessels, spectacular coastline, Canada geese snacking on the grass. A most pleasant afternoon of brilliant sunshine.

We had an outstanding getaway at the Castle Hill Inn. The beach side cottage was awesome, we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Beach cottages are a slice of heaven with spectacular views. Breakfast is delicious and service is top notch. Have a drink on their sprawling lawn to take in the majestic beauty of the Atlantic. You will love it here.

We went for New Year’s Day brunch. The meal was amazing and our waiter, Brian, could not have been any better. My brother and sister in law, who were there with us, are already talking about returning.

Service and view are flawless. The lobster roll was stuffed with fresh, chilled lobster, lightly dressed and served on a toasted roll. Perfect experience from parking to paying the check!

First class all the way. My husband and I had our reception here and visit regularly when we are in the mood for something special.

What is not to like. Valet Parking, Adirondack Chairs on a low hill overlooking the beautiful Newport waters with sailboats racing by. Grea cocktails and lobster sandwiches with chunk lobster. A very relaxing, fun afternoon and I left with my wallet intact.

The view is gorgeous! Be prepared with sunscreen and a hat because sitting in the gazebo is limited. The food is quite good using local ingredients. Loved the oysters and the unique take on tuna poke (appetizer, with watermelon instead of tomato). Lobster roll was solid with healthy amount of lobster.

The BEST place to watch the sunset. Absolutely beautiful view! The staff was very professional, and bent over backwards to accommodate us. Including a special menu prepared for my dining needs, and a blanket brought out for my partner because she was cold. 5 stars for sure. Our server was Sharron, and she deserves a raise. Absolutely fantastic.

Amazing experience! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The view, knowledgeable and pleasant staff, the food and the special surprises for my birthday (cake and a jar of jam). Then truffles to end the night… Can't wait to go back!

The service was nice and the food was amazing. The food was pricey, but that is what you should expect before even considering this place. Their cocktails we're great and the Bramble Smash was delicious. The fried calamari was fantastic. The view is nice but it gets very crowded and chairs are hard to grab. Make sure that if you don't want to do valet parking you. Park on the grass about halfway up the hill.

Absolute worst catering and service of a wedding I have ever seen. Leaking tent. 3 inches of water on the tent floor during a storm. Bathrooms flooded. Ceremony space was below an exit sign with no flowers or arch. Ceremony musician on a cheap keyboard was awful. Reception: Chicken entree was cold. Staff was cross, snooty and rude. A $50K colossal waste of money. Bridal buyers beware! This place is all posh show, no substance. The view is the only thing going for it.

Fresh seafood. Large U12 shrimp. And the burgers are good too. The best sunsets and you can sit by the water and watch while you eat.

We had a Sunday brunch here and it was beautiful. Sweeping lawn with the best view of the Newport Bridge and Jamestown. Also a place to enjoy a cocktail in the adirondack chairs on the lawn to see the sunset.

Sunset was unbelievable, food even better, but the highlight of our evening (celebrating a birthday and Mothers Day) was our server Dan. His knowledge of the wine list, the menu and the property are unsurpassed. It wasn't our first experience there with Dan and it definitely won't be our last! Kudos to the whole entire staff front and back of the house… the ravioli on the lobster entree were amazing!

The view was fantastic. Food and drinks were delicious and hard to step away from, and the atmosphere was classy, in a relaxed manner. We attended a wedding here, and the transition to from outdoor ceremony and cocktails to indoor food was very well-executed.

My wonderful boyfriend, now fiancé, proposed to me yesterday on the rocks of the lighthouse and we celebrated after watching the sunset at the bar with Nick our fabulous bartender who was not only extremely charismatic, but very knowledgeable about the history of the property. We will be back! Thank you for an experience of a lifetime!

Imagine my disappointment when I recently returned after telling my brunchmates how awesome Castle Hill only to be totally ignored by the the male bartender (wearing glasses), not once but twice. He was rude and very unaccomodating. I hope something can be done to rectify this. Your Friend Brian.

This place is absolutely amazing! The views were spectacular! They had the most amazing lobster roll I have ever eaten! If you are ever in Rhode Island you should definitely go here for drinks, lunch or dinner. They even have cottages & rooms in the castle.

We attended a wedding with the large outdoor tent on Monday. With the weather there were two others also set up. The decoration was fantastic and the staff was very attentive including to an elderly attendee with dietary restrictions. Would definitely recommend it.

I worked a wedding here this past Tuesday night. It was such a special night, and they treated myself as well as the other vendors so kindly! We were able to order off their bar menu for our dinners. Usually vendors get dry chicken, veggies and stale mashed potatoes at different venues! How they treated us, was exceptional! The chowder and lobster roll dinner were both delicious! Looking forward to bringing my husband here for a date night out in the future. Thanks to the entire staff, especially the manager James and the onsite planner Stephanie for all their help and kindness! Can’t wait to come back!

My fiance and I went here for a date night. The view is unbeatable (every table outside has water views) and the food was great. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall this place is great, romantic place to bring a date or family.

Best part is the location. The staff is dressed in immaculate grab which I liked. It's crowded so if you come for lunch expect a 30 minute wait to get a terrace table. We sat at the open terrace bar to eat and that was pretty nice. The drinks were strong so that was a good point. My surf and turf burger was a B — as it arrived warm, not hot. While you're there make sure you drive the 10 mile drive as they call it. I've been in Newport 4 times and there are always new things to see.

For $477.36 for the eight of us. 1. The majority of the entrees were very good but the $28 lobster roll was substandard. 2. Had to remind the waitperson that one of the soups was missing. 3. Had to ask the waitperson to remove the dishes. 4. The water glasses were never refilled. 5. The service level never rose to the level of the prices. 6. Great location and great valet service.

2 of my best friends were married here. Over the course of the weakend, friendship were almost destroyed, the groom was so drunk on his wedding day we had to play a form of Weekend at Bernies to make everyone think we was conscious and there was even a guest who made us all bacon. Beware of Room 13 as it is haunted by the Ghost of Captain Blazby Dearduff. Be sure to ask the young bartender, Linus, for the Kenedy Package if you plan to never stop drinking the whole weekend. Ring bears are welcome but flower gorillas are not.

Attended my best friends wedding, it was amazing and his bride was so beautiful. Venue was great, staff was great and the view was lovely.

Fantastic location. Beach houses have fireplace, kitchen, Jacuzzi, terrace, own beach and super fast, free Internet Wi-Fi — only inside. On the terrace, the connection quality decreases rapidly. Too bad there's no gym and that the ventilation in the room is too loud. How I met your mother — fans saying: Yes, that's exactly the hotel!

Good views but the brunch was just ok. Fries bland, fish taco had 1 very small piece of mahi.

We came in for a private party and immediately recieved attentive service from the moment the valet took the keys. Great food and friendly service, will be returning for drinks on the lawn next time.

Castle Hill Inn is set on a stunningly lovely and quiet part of Newport, yet it is near to Mansions and dining/shopping. I stayed at one of their beach houses which had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable. The beach house's deck was steps from the water with a small but pristine private beach area. Mother's Day luncheon was quite enjoyable and service was spot on — from the front desk to the restaurant to room service. The views from every place on the estate are spectacular. A facial in the Mansion itself was soothing and well done. So you might wonder why I did not give it 5 stars? It's all in the details. The food was good but simple. If you are a foodie, better dining is available in town. While the beds were incredibly comfortable, they were at thigh high level and the bathroom makeup mirror was mounted at approx. 6 feet — not very practical. There were also some housekeeping issues which surprised me because for the most part, the inn's facilities and room were very clean. However, the microwave had not been wiped down after a red juice had obviously exploded inside along with a glass with lipstick stain on the nightstand and a plate placed in the kitchen cabinets which was visibly wiped and returned to the cabinet without cleaning. I always wash all glasses whenever I am in an hotel but these were a few too many instances for this caliber of inn. Thankfully, the rest of the stay, location and services were just wonderful so I still recommend the place.

The food and service here was phenomenal. We went to Newport for the cliff walk and to explore and we discovered Castle Hill and will be back for sure!

Performed a wedding here last night (6/12/15) the venue is simply picture perfect. My Job for the evening was split in 3 parts, ceremony, Cocktail hour and dinner hour. Which were in 3 separate locations. So I had to get there early. Upon arrival which was a little behind due to Friday Traffic and construction, I walked in and asked for who was in charge (due to the fact that the wedding coordinator never contacted me as they were supposed to. I was pointed in the direction of a stairwell where a gentleman and lady were having a discussion. Being in a hurry to get my timeline and setup plan, I politely excused myself and introduced myself as the singer for the Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I needed to know where to set up as the Bride (who I work at her pleasure). Wanted me ready to go at 5PM. It's now 3:40 and the lady excused me and told me to wait outside. I explained again the timing I had, and she again excused me to go outside and wait! Though you don't work for the venue, they consider anyone there who doesn't work for then as "venders" and it totally makes life easier to "get along" with them. But I also have a Bride who has been planning her special day for over a year. But I went outside as I was told. 15 minutes later the gentleman came out and he did apologize and asked to start over, whichh of course I did. But thank God the other lady wasn't working this wedding.

We went there last weekend and had a great time. Beautiful place, food was delicious and outstanding service. Staff were so friendly and very nice. Great place. Want to be there again.

Stayed for one night in Beach Cottage and had dinner in the restaurant in the actual inn. My wife and I both agreed it was one of the best experiences we ever had. We arrived just before "high tea" was being served. Never attended one before and we were very impressed. The setting was wonderful along with the wide variety of teas and delightful snacks. That evening we had one of the best dining experiences ever. From beginning to end everything was fabulous. The food was perfect and supported by outstanding service. It was a beautiful spring evening and the water view from the dining room was beautiful and peaceful. The beach cottage right on the beach was magical. The decor perfect coastal casual. The next morning included a very hearty and delicious breakfast in the dining room. A great escape.

Fantastic Location. Beach houses have a fireplace, kitchen, Jacuzzi, patio, private beach and super fast, free Internet via W-Lan, but only on the inside. On the terrace takes on the quality of the connection rapidly. A pity that there is no Gym there, and that the Ventilation in the room is loud.

Our favorite place to stay in Newport for years. The beach cottages are well worth the expense. And you can't beat the beautiful drive to and from town.

Excellent Dinner! Superb Sunset! Not inexpensive, but worth every penny. The Lobster dish was amazing. Everything we had was excellent as well as the cocktails.

Short and sweet. Sept 4 2014 around 4:00 pm The outdoor area was empty so we ask the hostess if we can get seated. I ask her if we could seated at a table closer to the stone wall to have a better view. She said the tiny little table near were all the waiters are walking in and out was enough for us. Not nice lady so be sure to bring your I am SUPER RICH sign to see if she is nicer. The blueberry lemonades are good.

We went to Castle Hill to celebrate my Dad's 90th Birthday. We had a long standing reservation for 11 people that had been made more than a month in advance and confirmed. Upon arrival for our 6 PM dinner reservation, we were told that we were not expected until 7 PM but that it would not be a problem. Our waiter was very polite and knowledgeable however he spent the vast majority or his time out of our private room which seemed strange. Our three course meal took over 3 1/2 hours which was ridiculous. The food ranged from good to outstanding. When we placed our dessert order one of my brothers asked for a drink — it never came. After our desserts were ordered, our waiter told us someone would come in to take our coffee orders. That never happened. After we were finished with dessert our waiter came back into the room and when informed that no one came in for our coffee requests, he apologized and offered to get us some but by that time it was too late; the meal was over and we were ready to get out of there. Our waiter did not offer to do anything to try and make up for that slip-up, nor did he offer my Father so much as an after dinner drink to celebrate his birthday. The setting is lovely and the building is gracious but last night that is where the outstanding aspects ended.

Location is breathtaking, Cuisine is exceptional. Attended a Corporate meeting. Some staff are not fully engaged and don't make eye contact or speak when pass by. Chowder at dinner was exceptional and they made a point to stress the person making it had been with Inn for several decades. Portions where unusually small and when asked by several guests if more chowder was available we where surprisingly told no. Also Brimfield martini highly recommended is only available at Mansion bar our request to have one made at our dinner outside bar was also denied which may seem petty but for a property that has Relais and Chateaux rating this was surprising. It is a truly special place however guest service is not at level of properties as Blantyre, The Point, and Inn at Blackberry Farm which are other Relais and Chateaux properties visited.
