Filthy at best, huge mistake to stay as parents of the bride from NY, I wouldn’t let a pack of wolves stay at this flea bag ripoff, I’m reporting this place to every business organization I can find! DISGUSTING DUMP.

Located conveniently off the 95, was perfect for breaking up the drive up to Maine. The room itself was ok and a bit dated. I thought the carpet and bathroom could use a refresh. It was nice that there was a small kitchen with sink and electric range. I also appreciated the pet friendlyness of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was better than average with no hot foods but still a good variety. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and the few staff members were really hospitable.

The rooms at the Port Inn are very nice and just a short drive into Portsmouth and Kittery. Their pet fee is one of the lowest that I have ever seen at $25. Breakfast was great with plenty of baked goods and excellent coffee. Hotel staff was cheerful and pleasant. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is the room size. The room wasn't abnormal in size, but saying that it "sleeps five" is a stretch. It's like saying my cross-over SUV can seat eight. It absolutely can, but it's not a good plan.

Staff went out of their way to be kind, accommodating and friendly. Room was beautiful, close to the beaches and continental breakfast was perfect!

We come down to Kittery maine a lot and have stayed in a number of different places. The Port inn was absolutely fantastic. We will stay here again, in fact it's our go to place from now on. Mary at check in was fantastic gave great advice and was very welcoming. At breakfast Mary worked extremely hard and, was very professional. We used to run a very successful b&b and to see this level of service as exceptional. A big thank you to housekeeping you do a fantastic job. The room was very clean your the unsung heroes. So to anyone staying here remember you tip wait staff so why not housekeeping it is always appreciated. So a big thank you to all the, staff at the Port Inn.

The pictures make this place look provably a bit more upscale than what it actually is. Still, the room was perfect and had easy access to town!

I would recommend this hotel 100% for anyone staying in the Portsmouth area. I stayed for a long weekend with 4 girlfriends to celebrate our birthdays. I was so pleasantly surprised by everything about this place. The room was spacious and so very clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was much more than your standard hotel complementary breakfast… waffles, hard boiled eggs, local granola. Coffee, espresso, cappuccino 24/7! And the staff was amazing! Even before arriving I had placed a few calls to the hotel to ask various questions and every single time I spoke to a friendly and helpful staff member. The same was true meeting them in person. Simmone was particularly helpful in advice on places to dine in the city and was so gracious to take group photos every evening before we headed out for our nights on the town.
I can’t say enough great things about my stay at the Port Inn. I will be back to visit Portsmouth and I will stay here!
One more thing… this hotel does not have a fitness facility onsite. This was one drawback for me, as even on vacation I like to exercise. So, it was much to my pleasure to see that they have established a working relationship with Mission Fitness of Portsmouth. This facility offers a variety of fitness classes (yoga, spin, TRX). For Port inn guests they offer these classes for $5! A steal!

We enjoyed our stay at the Port Inn, the rooms were clean, the staff was pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was great. While it was a bit farther from downtown than others options, we found it to be an easily walkable distance.

People are super nice and there is even charging for Tesla and standard electric vehicles. There is a great Mexican place down the street that has great burritos.

Very quaint and a bit romantic. The only available single was a King, and it was probably one of the best beds I've ever slept on. The room was pretty chilly at first because baseboard heaters take a while to warm up, but I didn't book ahead of time so they weren't expecting me. Everything was clean, and had nice personal touches and character. I was road tripping from Atlanta to Canada for a new job, and this hotel had the best breakfast BY FAR. Delicious, fresh, and lots of options. There's also an amazing diner across the street, if you prefer a personalized breakfast. I would definitely stay again.

Conviently located right off the highway. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Good continental plus breakfast. A noisy heating system is the only complaint.

Was great service with simple and yummy continental breakfast. They forgot I had the Retail Therapy package and did not supply the room with the items described, I ended up going to the front desk and within moments I got my package and then a plus they gave me a gift card for a restaurant to apologize for not having it ready before hand. It was truly great service and great affordable place to stay.

This property was just wonderful. Super clean, quiet and subtle. We just loved it. Room was packed with amenities and nicely furnished. They also offer a full continental breakfast. Lovely property. They also happily welcomed our small dog. Which was a gracious way to make our travel accepting & convenient. We will return frequently.

It was good for what we needed it for. The breakfast was pretty decent though so that's definitely a plus. Bed was okay but again you get what you pay for.

It was a great surprise even just from driving in. Beautifully decorated from the outside and then we got a very enthusiastic and wonderful welcome from the staff who couldn't be more helpful. We were given a menu for a local pizza place and were offered the tables usually used for breakfast for us to relax at while eating (as our son was asleep in the room with the monitor on). The room itself was spacious, with a huge bed and nicely done bathroom. Toiletries were provided. A great night's sleep later and breakfast was very good spread with toast, muffins, cereal, yogurt, a make your own waffle station and bean to cup coffee. A wonderful time and a great surprise of a place.

Love this cute and quaint place. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. I stayed a night at the Marriott next door then had to relocate on account of no more room, and they were a great change. I try to support locally owned over chains and this hotel made it very easy!

We were passing through Portsmouth, but we're very impressed by the friendly, helpful staff, the attention to detail (very clean) and the generous breakfast. The nicest 'motel' I've ever stayed in!

We were test driving a new Nissan Leaf and stopped by to see how simple it might be to recharge the car at one of the hotel's several free charging stations.

Classic 1950's motel excellently preserved and updated. Great staff. Breakfast had great surprises such here as an expresso machine and blueberries to add to the waffles.

Excellent value. Clean, recently renovated rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is not exactly scenic but minutes from downtown.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Every front desk person I dealt with was friendly, informative and willing to assist in anyway they could. They have a book in the lobby that lists the local restaurants and even has a sample menu and pricing. The room was clean and bright. The only down side was the bathroom is a bit small, I occasionally banging my elbows when taking a shower.

If you are traveling to Portsmouth, definitely stay at this hotel. I travel a lot and this was one of my best hotel experiences to date. We had an exceptional first night's stay in Portsmouth with a standard room at this locally owned hotel. The staff was friendly and eager to help in offering recommendations on how to make the most of our stay based on our interests and taste. The hotel is a pleasant walk to downtown which houses a host of local spots to grab a bite to eat or a drink, shopping and charming waterfront views. The continental breakfast was impressive and full of hot and fresh foods, locally roasted coffees and citrus infused water. For our second night in Portsmouth, we had reservations at a different place nearby, and not-so-unfortunately, our plans fell through. We called the hotel to see if they had any rooms open last minute and not only did they find us a room, they upgraded us to a suite since our travel plans didn't work out with the other place. Very generous! The owner and staff at this hotel genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay in Portsmouth and they're eager to share their city with you. The rooms are clean, modern and full of little touches that make your stay that much better. The price is very affordable, especially compared to those located in the heart of downtown. I can't say enough about how great our experience was at this hotel and I'm excited to visit again soon.

This inn goes above and beyond! Our stay was wonderful, and the rooms are by the cleanest we have ever seen. The pool is very nice and very well maintained grounds. Beds were very comfortable and very welcoming. Felt like home, and wish we could have stayed another night! The morning we checked out we received a call about a baby blanket that my 3 year old left in his bed. This was his blanket from when he was born so naturally he was very upset! We were already a ways down the road and planned an alternate route for the way home. The wonderful woman at the front desk said she would be happy to drop it in the mail that day and have it shipped. When I offered to give her our information to bill us for shipping she declined and said it's what they do for all of their guests. I was completely shocked! My 3 year old had tears of joy when we arrived home today and his blanket was in the mail. This was our family's first time in New Hampshire, and I promise we'll be back and have another stay at The Port Inn! This well run business was a great example of how customer service goes a very long way! Thank you again!

This is a perfect place to spend one or multiple nights. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were clean as were the kitchenette. I will certainly be back the next time I visit Portsmouth.

Staff was incredible! Rooms were great, a little outdated, but clean! Bathroom was super tiny, but functional! We went for my husband's birthday weekend and they greeted him at check-in with a Birthday cake. Very close to the night life! $12 cab each way.

I've yet to fall asleep but its very clean here. Bathroom is nice. Free Wi-Fi, mini fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board, desk to sit atz bathtub/shower, hair drier, front desk nice and helpful, beds are comfortable and the blinds have a shade and a second shade that don't let light in. Haven't used the TV but it is a decent size. Pretty much exactly what we needed. My only compliant is the Wi-Fi goes in and out so I had to reconnect to it a lot. Front desk will give you brochures to delivery places. You park in front of your room. Room smells great. Free breakfast and we asked for late check out.

Cute Inn and close to downtown Potsmouth. They were really friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Rooms were a little musty, but it was a nice room.

I just stayed here for a night and it was marvelous. The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice including sausages and omelette. The front desk staff were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. One of the staff, Carol, went out of her way to introduce us to the local sights and sounds. We even got a coupon to the local outlet from her when we left! True hospitality and I recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Portsmouth.

Everything I read on Trip adviser was true, friendly staff, very clean rooms, comfortable bed. Great attention to details. Having stayed at many inns, hotels in the states as well as Europe rate this one in the top ten.

I travel a great deal, and got a great price here. This place is a gem! Quick, friendly service, nice amenities in the room (like half and half for the coffee), couldn't be more pleased.

This is a motel from decades past. It really needs to be updated. The parking situation is less than ideal. We stayed for a weekend with our dog. While in the "pet designated" area my dog and I were both stung by multiple bees. We made the front desk aware of the issue. The response was, just don't go over there anymore. They did nothing to solve the bee issue. After leaving I received an email about both duvets being ruined by our dog and charged an extra $100.00 each. I ended up having to call them to ask exactly how they were ruined. The rep stated one was torn and the other was dirty from paw prints. I asked if they had tried washing it before charging me for "dirty paw prints". The rep had stated they hadn't and they would try to wash it. Once they decided to try the most obvious solution to a dirty duvet, it worked and they finally refunded me for 1 duvet. The other was still torn, which I have no problem paying for if it was in fact our dog. However, our dog has never chewed on anything like this before, nor was he unattended at any point. The major issue I have is still the fact they were so willing to just charge extra for lazy house keeping as well as no care for their customers with the bee issue. I would most definitely look into staying somewhere much nicer.

Awesome place, its fairly close to Portsmouth downtown and shore, the staff is super friendly and the facilities are great.

First things first: THIS IS A MOTEL. It's the classic 50s format of a U-shaped parking lot with a U-shaped line of rooms around it. No halls. No elevators. Park right in front of your room. Next, open your door. You're not just in Maine: you're in the 60s! At least, that what the decor looks like. Pretty horrific, very dark. And I hope the room you get doesn't smell as bad as ours. If it does, well, you get used to it. So, every review here — — and my star ratings — — should be prefaced with the words "For a motel, " because otherwise none of this makes sense. For a motel, this place is clean. The fridge is nice, the microwave is nice. The shampoo and soap are truly motel quality. Breakfast was a bit better than motel average. Desk guy was great. I didn't like the neighborhood, didn't like the view out my back window, and didn't like the lack of security that a front door opening on a major highway means. Would I stay here again? Good question. The folks I traveled with didn't mind the place, but though $110 a night was way too high. I'd check hotels in the area and see if any were near that rate. This place is functional but DEFINITELY not romantic or even fun.

We got a better rate because we were recommended by the local chamber of commerce. Only a few minutes outside of downtown Portsmouth. Still super convenient. The staff was friendly and the rooms were much nicer than I expected for the price. They also had a nice selection for breakfast which was included. Would recommend for sure.

Great place. They were extremely accommodating. We were upgraded to kitchenette suite when we told them of my girlfriends sons food allergies, this was so nice of them and helped us out a ton. Everyone here is very nice the rooms are fantastic, the staff is very kind and the motel is quiet. The grounds are nicely kept up and the pool area is an inviting little oasis. I will definitely come back here to stay :).
