We stayed for just one night, but thought it was great. Clean and sparkly! Easy access. The bed was pretty comfy and smelled nice and fresh. I would have liked a clock in the room? But we were happy.

The person at the front desk was friendly and efficient and calm even when there was a line of customers. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels. It was wonderful that we could bring our bicycles into our room for safe keeping. I only wish that I had known that there wasn't an shampoo.

We were very frustrated that our entire stay (the 8th through the 12th), all we could smell was marijuana. It was in the halls, the elevator, and came into our room at night through the vents. We understand it is legal in NH, but being non smokers, it made it difficult to enjoy our stay. We had our children with us, and frankly, we are both concerned about our employers and our random drug testing when we return to work tomorrow. I am not a prude, I don’t have a problem with people who choose to smoke marijuana, but it was so strong at times that we had to leave the hotel, just out of concern for our own health. I want to be clear, it was not one room, or one night, we could smell it from multiple rooms as we walked down halls and every day, and every night. And it was strong, not just a faint odor, it was overpowering. Non-smoking means non-smoking, and should not just apply to cigarettes. I seriously hope this is not how all Motel 6 are run and hope this is addressed. I will say that the front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating, and the house keepers were thorough. I do feel that for what we paid to stay at this hotel, we should not have had to deal with such a blatant disregard for enforcing policies, or overall consideration to the guests. We chose Motel 6 thinking we would not have to deal with such things and are extremely disappointed.

A no frills hotel right offer the highway and down the street from the Peas International Trade port. The room was Stark but bright. The fan in the rooms climate controld Squealed like a teenager at a Justin Bieber concert. But other than that the place was nice, clean, and the staff friendly.

There was NO heat for the two nights we stayed at this motel. In fact, it felt like the air conditioning was on. No matter what we tried, we were unable to shut off the freezing cold air. The room temperature hovered around 60. When we complained to the front desk, we were told the heat had been turned off for the season, however we noticed the hallways were heated. We froze the whole time. We requested blankets the first night and there were none, so they gave us thin sheets. The second night we were able to get blankets. We slept miserably as a result. The bathroom sink was not draining properly. The room was not cleaned while we were there. We were very disappointed in the place quite honestly. The on duty manager did give us $50 off our room cost as a compensation for the lack of heat.

The clerk was very courteous and helpful. The room was spotless. The mattress was a little worn and lumpy. Other than the mattress no problems at all.

This Motel 6 was 1 of the fanciest & friendliest I've ever seen or stayed In. All staff was helpful. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Plenty Of parking. All inside corridors. Big help yourself candy bowl in lobby. Real bathtub in large, clean bathroom! Pretty area to visit. Eat at Warren's Lobster House, just 10 minutes away in Kittery! Only problem was we couldn't switch heat to air, so opened large window.

Check-in and out was smooth, it was cheap, and the room was good. The floor was dirty though, like it hadn't really been mopped or cleaned in a while. Turned the towels brown trying to clean up shower puddles. Also did not provide shampoo and conditioner but that's not too big a deal.

Fanciest Motel 6 ever seen & stayed in! all inside corridors. Clean. Friendly clerks & employees. Enjoyed stay & would return. Only problem was we opened window, because only heat coming out instead of cool. Clerk offered a different room, but we opted to open window, since we were tired & already settled in.

Great room and service for the price. Staff was friendly, efficient, and courteous. Checked in for two nights with my Golden Retriever. She seemed to enjoy her stay also.

The room was good. But the bed is so dirty. The check out time is 12pm at noon. I checked in at 3am. So I was so tired. Woke up a little be that. Front desk called me at 12 10pm.
She said check out time is 12 pm. She let me to get out of the room. It was so rude. Won't come back anymore.

Room was clean and accommodating. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and parking lot could have been a bit larger but traveling alone it was ok. The location is very convenient right off the highway.

Location was convenient, room was clean & staff was efficient. It is no frills, the bed was not overly comfortable & the walls were paper thin. But if you just need a clean, safe place to sleep that is pet friendly & affordable, this fits the bill.

The rooms are much better than before. The up grade here has help this hotel. Not sure if I like that they take a picture of all our ID. S that stay there. Who knows where all this can go.

Over all our stay was pleasant, only issues we had was the floors has black on them and we could tell they had not been washed as our feet would get black from walking around, and I asked them twice to wash them. And the ad for your motel, says you have a pool does not state it was out door pool so we was a little bummed but, yeah towels smelled old and used. But for just a place to sleep not to bad, the people at front desk were, amazing. Well except the morning we checked out that girl needs to know manners and know when you got a customer it comes before your side conversations. But the three days before were wonderful people working. Except for the ones cleaning the rooms. They need someone to show them how it is done.

There needs to be attention to the pet owners that do not pick up after their pets. This is becoming a health issue for responsible pet owners at all of your facilities as well as others. One would think they would be more thankful to have a place That accepts pets. There needs to be a fine attached just like in public parks when owners do not obey the law for picking up.

Everyone was wonderful. From the front desk people to the people who cleaned our room. The overall friendliness of all employees was over the top. We couldn't have asked for any better accommodations. Thank you everyone.

Hotel for craftsmen and representatives. Some dubious guys are hanging around in the evening. My car was hit in the parking lot and the polluter was over all the mountains.

The manager on duty when we arrived, along with all the other staff encountered during our 3 night stay, were friendly and happily accommodated all our requests. The room was clean and actually smelled good (which is rare). We did have an issue with the heat — since they turned the AC off, our room was 80+ degrees no matter what the temp was set to. Maintenance was supposed to adjust things but never did. This hotel is VERY basic in terms of amenities — no hair dryer, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker.

As I read in a comment elsewhere, there are no toiletries besides soap provided in the rooms and no refrigerator. On my floor there was also a loud 21st birthday party — who knew Motel 6 would be the place to let loose. Besides those things, the hotel was comfortable and a good deal. The front desk staff was pleasant.

We have stayed here several times and have always had a very good experience. The room was clean and up to date, staff was friendly. Cost of the room was excellent. A note to others that there aren't hair dryers in the room but we asked for one at the desk and were given one. Also, shampoo isn't provided but we will remember to bring our own next time. I didn't seem to be able to get the deadbolt lock to work but it could have been just my issue, too. We will definitely be back sometime when we're in the area.

This was without a doubt the cleanest, freshest, most pleasant Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. There are an abundance of restaurants neat by, and routes to downtown Portsmouth were easily accessible. A suggestion for the hotel. It would cost next to nothing to have an slip of paper serving as a guide to the TV channels. While the TV has a channel providing a scrolling guide, the time lag between entering your channel number, to actually seeing the channel makes it tedious to manipulate. If you go back to the guide, you'll have to wait for the scroll to come back around. I completely recognize this is a minor issue, but it is a problem that is easily rectified.

I was very pleased with my first stay at a Motel 6. It was clean, quiet and the check-in & check-out staff pleasant and accommodating. My only criticism was that as you first entered the room the wall switch light was not connected to any light so that when you entered the unfamiliar room you had to find your way in the dark. Thanks for adding to a very pleasant stay in Portsmouth.

It was far more basic than I anticipated. I didn't bring shampoo or a hair dryer because I haven't stayed in a hotel that didn't offer tiny bottles. The sheets were on wrong side out which made me wonder if they were really clean or reused. There were stains on the box spring/base cover. There were no tissues in the bath room. It was like staying in a hospital room that was sparse and far from homey or comfortable. On a positive note the floor and bathroom appeared clean and the location was perfect.

The A/C in the room was inadequate. It did not cool the room, making the night uncomfortable. The rooms smelled of old smoke and the hall smelled like old urine. The facility looked nice and clean, just a little aged. The front desk personnel were welcoming and nice. The nightly rate is overpriced for what you get. I would stay if I had to, but given a choice, I'd stay somewhere else. It's a Motel 6. What can I say…

The location is excellent, with easy access to highways, historic Portsmouth, shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly, room was clean, if a bit sparse, with a decent TV. I'm happy to forgo a few extras for a fair rate. Was quite pleased with my stay and will be back!

I have Motel 6 a 3 star rating based on my recent stay. As far as staff goes they were friendly, and courteous… the rooms were not bad, shower and bathtub were below standard in my eyes. The stair hallways have a musty smell, grounds weren't bad they were somewhat clean. Customer service — 4 stars Cleanliness — 3 stars Grounds — 3 stars Over All experience — 3 stars Will I recommend to a friend or family member? I will say yes to this question. The reason is affordability — for $110 one room double beds isn't a bad price at all.

I booked this motel as a last resort due to a lack of options and thought to myself, it can't be that bad… Where to start? The hallway smells like death, it has a musty stale smell that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The room looked like what I imagine a jail cell to look like. The furniture is cheap and cheesy, the walls are painted in a glossy cheap looking paint, there are literally zero amenities in this room. No mini fridge, no microwave, no shampoo! They have the worst thin and rough towels and don't get me started on the bed. I did not slept a wink because the bed is a horrible thin spring mattress with no support. My husband and I each got one thin cheap pillow and the the blanket is like two pieces of paper sewn together. I get that this is a budget motel but we paid just under 90 bucks for a single queen, we have stayed at beautiful hotels packed with top of the line amenities all over for about 40 bucks more. Do yourself a favor and pay the 40 bucks, if this place is all you can find keep driving or sleep in your car.

This is not Deborah, it is Linda Baldwin, her mother — I booked the rooms. The hotel was very clean, updated and comfortable. Very convenient to restaurants and the mall. The hotel staff were very accommodating with anything we needed from an extra pillow in the room to an iron and ironing board. They put our four rooms close together when I asked which was nice. Only thing that would have made it better is little refrigerator/freezer in room. Never stayed in a Motel 6 but would consider it now.

Greeted warmly and with a smile! Our bathroom had a small clog in the sink and the tub and was fixed in less than 5 minutes! The coffee in the AM was fresh and hot! Our beds were super comfortable too!

When my friend lay down, his bed was soaked probably with urine. The sheet was dry but when he applied pressure to it, it got very wet. We took the covers off the bed and saw a big stain on the mattress that was still wet. The front desk moved us to another room. My friend's pants and shirt were wet from the bed. He could not use them for the rest of the trip. When we checked out, I informed the manager and he refunded one of the two nights, which we thought fair. Still, it was a gross experience.

I stayed here after attending a wedding. I called to make sure checking in late wouldn't be an issue and was told it was fine. I got there around 12:30 and the parking lot was filled (understandale because of the time, but people were parked in between two spots). Checked in and went to my room (requested a non smoking). It STUNK like marijuana. I requested a new room and was told at the desk "it's what I got for checking in late" and there was one other available. (still smoking room). Would NEVER STAY here again.

I had a very enjoyable stay the staff was so very nice and accommodating. The property is in need of TLC my room had a rotted table top visible not just wobbaly. My family stayed in a room with no A/C because the only other room was a smoking room. It's such a nice looking property other than that well maintained and clean. Simple changes would make this property a great one not just good.

The room is perfectly fine, but smelled terribly of smoke. I had to check out after one night. There is no place on the website that states they allow smoking and that you need to request a non-smoking room. In addition, the steam from the shower triggers the smoke detector. Can't comment on the non-smoking rooms as none were available when I asked to be switched. Luckily, I had a backup plan.

The rooms were clean and newly renovated. Great servicing of the rooms, hot water always and price! Highly recommend. Trader Joe's and mall across the street. Excellent location to shops, food, gas and everything else. I95 next door!

There were no amenities. No lounge. The pool was so cloudy I did not dare swim in it. Steak house across the street, but very busy road. So have to drive to get dinner. Coming in from the opposite side the motel is very hard to see and there is no way to turn into it. All in All would not recommend. Especially when I had to met friend that the Sheraton down the road and it was only 9 dollars more and it was amazing. Lounge, Several restaurants, ocean view, Breakfast in the morning, The room were so much nicer. Silly if I stay with you next time.

The room was clean, but so very bare. Nothing extra whatsoever. No tissue, no hairdryer, no bath products except a small bar of soap, no pen or paper, not even a soft chair, just two hard desk chairs. Beds a little saggy and small (they call them doubles) but not too bad. Room was VERY small, like "cruise ship" room small. Very tight for two people. At 5"7" the bathroom counter/sink was way too low for me. Fixed position TV can only be seen clearly from one bed. The girls working the front desk were very polite, friendly, and helpful.

We appreciated the courtesy of the staff. We feel that when customers request a small fridge, this should be made available. We do not eat out often and choose to buy food at the nearest grocery store. If we come back t Motel 6, I hope that this will be honored.

I called the night before to say I was arriving late. The hotel said, "no problem your room will be ready when you get here". When I got to the hotel around midnight I had to take a room which only had full size beds because they gave my room away unless I would move to the 'smoking floor'. I chose to squeeze my large frame into a very short bed with sheets so thin you could see through the pillow cases. The first room I was given the air conditioning was broken and the sink had no water flow. They gave me another room which had a broken door handle so I had to hold it together to get in the room. Once in the room I realized they put me in a handicap accessible room and did not tell me. So after a night of hanging off the bed I then had to shower on my knees to fit under the shower head or shower sitting on a bench. I also neglected to say they charged me more then the website price so I also had to get a refund… the property says recently remodeled but they still have a long ways to go on their punch list. Lots of other hotel choices in the area and I've had better experience with them. I'd pass this place by if I was looking!

My daughter attends UNH. Whenever we are in town to see her, we stay at Motel 6. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always clean. It is a great value.

Decent rooms, for a reasonable price. Internet service is not reliable, but the staff is generally friendly and helpful. They are pet friendly, which is a good thing for responsible pet owners. Ultimately, our stay there was positive.

Actually not bad at all. Room was clean and bright… felt a bit like a dorm room. Not a 5 star hotel by any means but this particular location was an excellent value.

No problems checking in the place is clean with no bad smells as in some previous posts. Room is usually large for motel 6. Is is early in the day but pleasantly satisfied so far.

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed at. It was so dirty. I stayed on the 3rd floor when you get to the top it smells like there was a dead body. It was coming from the janitor closet. The floors by the vending machines were also sticky and the trash can looked like it hard goop running down it. I almost thru up. When we got the the room it seemed Clean. It is very basic. Towels are super small and very thin. The remote on our room did not work. I was so glad I was only staying for one night. I checked out as soon as I got up the next morning. Along with another women I met in the elevator that was in a rush to get out of the building to. She had a smoking room and said there was burn holes on the bed sheets and she toilet ran all night and he room smelled very bad. The only reason I picked this hotel because everything in the area was booked for the weekend unless I wanted to pay 350+ a night at a hotel which I can't afford. I would never come here again. I should have gone by other reviews.

I would never stay in this hotel nor use the hotel chain again. Everything about the hotel was far from gratifying. The hotel was dirty and not well maintained. the towels are paper thin and the linens are not changed for a week. The towels are only replaced once a week. The staff did not remove the garbage from the cans for days, which made the garbage overflow and smell. The room gets frequent visits from bugs that come at all hours of the day and night. I suffered for a week and regretted having booked a room for so long. The entire experience was a complete nightmare. I did not sleep much because of the visits from the bugs. God help you if you choose to stay in this place.

The Brief Review: It sounds like a good deal, but don't take it. It's not worth it. Stay some place else and enjoy yourself. The Full Review: We arrived at the Motel 6 on August 1 not expecting anything glamorous, but expecting a clean and respectable motel. I started to have my doubts when I found a large group of twenty-somethings arriving with their coolers, all of them talking and laughing just outside the motel or in the tiny lobby. It had the look of a party motel. One of the maids was upset at the front desk because someone had used hair dye and it was all over the floor of one of the rooms and they had to close the room down even though it had been cleared as OK to check in to. This seemed to cause some sort of chain reaction because the next woman who came to check in was told she could have either a smoking room or a non-smoking room with a broken air conditioner. The woman was upset having reserved a non-smoking room and was told "we can't guarantee you'll get the room you want, just that you'll get a room. ' I've traveled a lot and never had to take anything other than what I'd reserved. My friend and I took our keys and headed up to our room only to find it was open and hadn't been cleaned. Back downstairs. The clerk was frustrated as the maids had cleared that room as ready.

All new rooms with hardwood floors, beds, and bathroom. Quiet and lovely place in the middle of town, around a lot of places to go to.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. The check in process was easy and our room was clean. The hotel staff were friendly and very attentive. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Staff was friendly. Room was what you would expect. I brought my own pillows and towels. I would advise the same to you. Hotel was quiet. We heard no dogs barking and heard nothing from the other rooms! Great for a short stay. EXTREMELY close to Portsmouth and everything.
