The inn is my home away from home. Its beautiful setting on the banks of the Saco combined with a romantic rustic boutique inn is the perfect combination. As a vendor of the upcoming July show I look forward to my weekend relaxing getaway. I am excited to see old friends, make new ones and of course my favorite past time shopping for antiques! Laura E

I had the opportunity to stay at the Wayside for work, and now find any excuse I can to get here. The location is perfectly situated near the white mountains, while also being accessible from cities around New England. The staff are outstanding, and the food, phenomenal. Whether sitting quietly on the porch outside my room, overlooking the river, or chatting with the owner, Sarah, The Wayside always feels like an extremely special place I feel very lucky to have discovered. What sets this Inn apart from other places is the outstanding hospitality that is authentic and incredibly warm.

Had a great visit to this Inn — felt very much like home! Super friendly staff and EXCELLENT FOOD. If you’re looking for a great get away, try this out! It may not be fancy, but it’s well worth a visit!

The new owners are doing an amazing job. With a beautiful, tasty and affordable dinner menu at a wonderful spot by the river. You can't go wrong with this choice.

Can not comment on the Inn but the restaurant was excellent. Food was delish, and service was excellent.

Sarah is the best. I have stayed there as well as eaten there multiple times. Very accommodating and friendly. Best value I have found in the north country.

This is one the best hotel experiences that I've ever had! The Wayside Inn is an fantastic hotel run by a lovely family. We stayed in a queen sized room. It was clean, comfortable, and very homey. If we'd stayed longer, we definitely would have taken advantage of the jacuzzi tub! To ensure that you have a nice, relaxing time, there aren't TVs in the main hotel bedrooms. However, there is a beautiful, cozy TV room on the first floor complete with a fireplace. I imagine that it's a great place to sit and relax in the winter time! The food in the restaurant was delicious. There is also a resident bunny, who you might see hopping around! We didn't get to meet the owner, but we were fortunate enough to spend time with her family, who helps to run the place. They were an absolute delight! I can't recommend this place enough, and we'll definitely be back for a nice, weekend retreat!

As another reviewer noted, this business is running a classic bait-and-switch scam, whereby it lures customers with photos of a quaint New England inn, only to provide them with horrible accommodations in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUILDING upon arrival. To clarify, the inn that is featured in the photos (or at least the exterior facade of the inn) does exist. However, upon arrival, we were given a room in "The Annex, " which is a completely separate building to the left of the inn. While climbing up the steps to our third-floor room, we noticed enormous spiderwebs that spanned several doorways, which was not a good sign. Immediately upon opening the door to the room, we were overwhelmed by a horrible, musty smell that likely came from the maroon carpet that looked as though it was installed in the 1970s. We had to open the door to the balcony (on a warm August day) in an attempt to mitigate the smell. There was an extremely thick layer of dust over all of the furniture, including the bed frame, which suggested that the room had not been dusted in months. The comforters on the beds were so yellow and dingy that we started checking for bed bugs before we put any of our belongings on the beds. We ended up putting all of our belongings on top of a table and wearing shoes at all times when we were in the room because we did not want anything to touch the floor.

It was wonderful so peaceful, beautiful scenery, lots of little places to sit and relax, and a river runs along side it. The rooms were super clean, free full breakfast that was delicious, and they have a restaurant/bar on the premises. The owner Sarah Levey was super sweet and helpful I am definitely going back to stay there. Don’t miss out it’s great.

Great inn. Good restaurant. Loved chatting with the owner and putting together the jigsaw puzzles she has out around the place. Fun to sit by the river in the evening. Clean, spacious rooms.

Very nice staff, awesome location to alot of places. We were aloud to bring our dog. But our room is very out dated. Water lines for our sink, shower are reversed. Dining room is dated back to 60's-70's. Lovely river flowing in the back, great history of the place.

My wife and I stayed at The Wayside Inn for a night while driving through to stop at the White Mountains the next day. We had an excellent stay here. The location next to the Ammonoosuc River is very scenic and provides the outdoor enthusiast with swimming, fishing, walking or birding opportunities. There is a nice trail leading to a little beach area down by the water where you can get in inner tubes and hang out on the river. The owner, Sarah, is very personable and makes every attempt to provide great customer service in any way possible. To top it all off, the hotel restaurant has excellent food. We ate dinner and breakfast there during our stay. The kitchen was not only able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy, but all the food was amazing as well. If we ever make it back to the area, The Wayside Inn would certainly at the top of our list for a place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Wayside Inn for two nights on a brief trip up to New England. I can't say enough about how much we love it here! First, the property is gorgeous. It is on the banks of the Ammonoosuc River, and even has a little private beach where we were able to float in the river and sun ourselves on the sand. There is plenty to do right on the grounds — large fire pits for campfires and s'mores, basketball and tennis courts, lots of area to walk around and explore, and of course the restaurant and bar. The inn itself is lovely, with just the right amount of charming period pieces and mementos from its history, while still feeling updated with all the modern amenities. The large dining room has panoramic windows overlooking the river making for a very unique and relaxing dining experience. The restaurant offers a great hearty breakfast and a spectacular upscale dining menu for dinner. Our room was well decorated and was very private and spacious. We even had our own large bathroom with jacuzzi tub! Finally, the innkeeper, Sarah, is kind and attentive with loads of recommendations for any activity you may be interested in. She recommended the perfect hike for us with a gorgeous vista point just a short car ride away as well as a new brewery right in the town of Bethlehem! She works extremely hard to make sure all of her guests and staff are well taken care of and will make you feel right at home! We cannot wait to return to The Wayside Inn!

Lovely, relaxing, and welcoming dinner with attentive service. The dining room is a gem overlooking a river. We were staying at the Omni Mt Washington Resort and wanted to dine off property and this location is perfect. 15 minutes down the road on Rte. 302. You cannot beat the $6.00 glass of house wine. The four of us enjoyed several items from the menu and all were great. Nacho's, green salad, chowder, and chicken pot pie soup — followed by lamb, burger, chicken and fish entree. Check it out!

Beautiful setting. Excellent staff. Food very ordinary. Disappointing.

Very quaint and loved the old farmhouse decor and feel! Sarah and her staff were easy going, friendly, and accommodating. The dinner and breakfast were better than we had expected and worth staying in for. Would definitely return. We went to the ice castle about 30 minutes away but they are very close to several ski slopes.

I'm being kind with a 3-star rating because the host slash owner of the Inn was so nice and tried very hard. She is young and a bit inexperienced and it seems so is her chef. The food was okay, but just okay. Nice atmosphere and fairly priced. The place could use a chef that knows what he's doing and a bartender that knows how to make a good drink.

Came for our anniversary with our 3 year old son, just after new management opened dining room. A lovely place. Inn proper is historic 1800s. Beautiful views of the river. Staff family very kind and accommodating. Convenient to Zealand trail. Interested in returning to see how new manager will update the interior. If bringing a kiddo, consider bringing an air mattress; beds are narrow for two if in the double.

Rustic and charming decor. Very nice atmosphere with river bordering the inn. Excellent breakfast. Rooms a little dingy but clean and very comfortable.
