Love the people there, namely from Kevin at reception, most helpful guy, to the relaxed and family type ambience in the Breakfast area, where Dary and Imelda see that you have everything you need to start a great day! Charged the wrong amount, poor customer service, when I arrived at my room a maid was walking out of it with a magazine as if she had just been relaxing in my room and then started trying to explain that she was checking on something but didn't say what. At check-in, they never checked my ID to make sure they gave my keys to the correct person.

Very clean and excellent staff. Jennifer at the front desk was exceptional.

This is my first time staying at this hotel and overall I am pleased with my visit — the location is great and the room is really nice. I like that all of the rooms are built in a way that they make you feel like you have a spacious corner room even if you aren't actually at the end of one of the halls. Valet parking is expensive but that's too be expected, given it was only a few $$ more than self parking it was worth it for the in/out privileges. Only other negative so far is that they don't seem to have all 4 elevators working at once, which can turn into long waits at various times of day, either trying to get to the lobby or back up to my the room. Either way, be prepared. Only been here one night, still have a few more nights to go, so hopefully this is the worst of it. Overall, I would stay here again, primarily because of the location — variety of restaurants and bars nearby within walking distance too!

I stayed here on a business trip for an event on MIT's campus. The location is extremely convenient being near both the subway and the campus, as well as within walking distance of some nice restaurants. I found the overall appearance and amenities of the hotel more than sufficient. The bed was comfy enough for a good night of rest, and I enjoyed having a desk near the corner window overlooking the city. The room rate wasn't cheap, but you can't really do much better in Boston for the price.

Came for a wedding and stayed overnight. The rooms were clean and modern. I would definitely stay again if needed. As a venue, I found it to be just average. The ceremony was nice, but waiting in the hall for cocktail hour seemed awkward and a bit cramped. The food was OK for a wedding/large volume, but the portions we're small.

Do not recommend. Reserved 2 rooms that were supposed to be connected for a bachelorette. We were allowed to check into one but needed to wait for the other. The rooms were not connected. Requested 2 double beds in each room and were given two rooms with one king bed each so we had to share. Ice machine on our floor did not work. Cable in our room did not work. Had a very nice staff member come take care of it for us, — after the second call! Will never stay here again and do not recommend.

The check-in process was a disappointment. I left the front desk feeling the guest service representative did not want to be at work that evening and was disinterested in at least offering to explain any amenities on site. I don't need the explanation every time, but an offer to explain what is available is always helpful. When they finally found my reservation, they placed the keys on the desk and said "here are your keys, the elevators are behind you. " No explanation of what floor I'm on, no offer of where the lounge or fitness center is, or any offer to explain surrounding area. I left my stay feeling like I should try another hotel when I return to Boston.

Exceptional full-service Marriott. From check in to the restaurant and fitness area, this hotel is exceptional, even among the usual excellence of full-service Marriott hotels. I unequivocally recommend this hotel situated on Kendall Square next to the MIT Coop and Legal Seafood.

Very comfortable rooms. Great location right next to the Kendall Square T stop. Lots of people (non hotel guests) crossing through the lobby all the time on their way to the T-stop. No lobby bar as they advertise. Really nice fitness center.

Great location right at Kendall T stop, in the middle of MIT and two stops from Harvard. Rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds. Lighting isn't optimal if you have to work at the desk, though — — they went a little too far with mood lighting, and didn't consider the practicalities. In-room fridge was pretty weak, but at least it wasn't packed with minibar junk. Was disappointed to see that they recently got rid of the pool. Restaurant is good, and there's a Starbucks right in the lobby.

I really enjoy this hotel. It's modern with great amenities. The staff is always helpful. Be aware that the room rate can change nightly, by a significant amount actually. It depends on the week, especially when something is going on at MIT or Harvard.

An outstanding hotel in all respects. The rooms are excellent, the breakfast is very nice, and all other facilities are top of the line. The Boston metro station Kendall is adjacent to the hotel entrance and parking is available in an adjacent multi story lot for a fee. This is an excellent choice of hotel when visiting Cambridge or the adjacent Boston Back Bay area.

Convenient location. Good food during the conference. The conference lecture hall was large but audio and PowerPoint slides were easily seen and heard even from the back.

One of our favorite places to stay in the Boston area with great views, amazing staff and extremely convenient location with direct access to the red line Kendal Square T-stop. Would have been a 5 star review if they had not eliminated their pool. We travel with our kids and a pool is a must for us. They had a really cool stainless steel bottomed pool up until last year. We found out the pool was no longer when informed by a staff member in the elevator while riding down to the former pool level in our bathing suits. Big bummer particularly for the kids and unfortunately knocks this Marriott off our list.

Great hotel right next to the subway station into Boston. Rooms were well kept, spacious, and modern. Area was safe and interesting. Plenty to see and do here as well as going into town.

The hotel was recently renewed and I loved it. It was very clean with a veryodern look, we had view to the whole city and waking up to that view was amazing. Definitely will go there again next time I'm in Boston. Very good service and hospitality as well. 5 stars to this hotel!

Pro: Check in was great… Aloc (I think was his name) was super kind and the kids enjoyed the pool… Cons: there was construction happening and I couldn't sleep… looks like a building is being built and maybe some snow removal… they were so loud and the beeping was driving me crazy… worst side of the building to place a guest. My 9 year old daughter couldn't sleep either.

The Boston Marriott Cambridge includes all of the amenities you would expect. The hotel staff is friendly and the hotel lounge areas seem to be very popular. The M club is located on the second floor and is well stocked. The hotel is in a great location and is within walking distance of One Kendall Square and great local restaurants. The entire area is very traveler/pedestrian friendly.

Great location mere steps from T stop. The staff — from desk to housekeeping to valet — — was responsive and flexible, friendly and professional. Room was spotless and modern. Avoid rooms near the elevator — — they are fast, but louder than conventional lifts.

Location is definitely the appeal here. It was so convenient being right by the T. The views were beautiful and restaurant was great but walls were pretty thin, which made sleeping a challenge when the person next door was on the phone. All in all a great stay.

This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel. The room was impeccably clean. The Wi-Fi was fast, and the service was very friendly. As an extra nice touch, I didn't answer a wake up call one morning (I was in the bathroom) and they sent up a security guard to make sure I was okay. That's pretty incredible to me. Highly recommend.

When I visit MIT this is the hotel I stay at. If you book your room in advance the rates are get competitive. The guest rooms were remodeled recently and are very nice. I love the automatic foot lights in the bathroom. The executive lounge is very modern and spacious. There is a T stop right outside and lots of dining options nearby. My favorite hotel in the Boston area.

Great friendly staff, good amenities, and an excellent view. The valet staff was great as well. Even though parking was a little expensive, it was worth it for the peace of mind! The beds were super comfy and the room was cozy with a nice 55 inch screen. It is close to everything as well. We were incredibly happy and satisfied with our stay and look forward to our next trip.

Rooms are great, has a friendly and professional staff willing to greet you in the mornings. Very accessible and you can go anywhere in the city via the train station outside. The hotel dinning is a bit limited, though. But then again, there are a few restaurants outside of the hotel itself. Expensive Wi-Fi and a hassle to obtain. Overall, great experience for me.

In a nutshell, the facility deserved 4 stars, but I'm giving the hotel an extra star because of the service we received. The staff was amazing. The front desk put out a couple of small "fires". When I needed the help, they came through big time. The room was pretty nice. Not crazy about the sliding door to the bathroom (didn't close all the way and didn't lock). That said, the shower was really nice. The area around the hotel didn't have as many restaurants as I would have liked. The trolly picks up right in front of the hotel so that was a huge plus.

Clean and neat rooms. Front desk personnel were ever willing to help/assist. Hotel location is very good: Central Cambridge. Amazing and breathtaking view of Boston from the upper floor rooms.

Reception was great. The food was very delicious at our wedding.
Cons:
Champions was a total nightmare. Some people waited over 2 hours to get their meals, others did not get theirs at all, including my son and 5 others. The staff was unorganized, and unprepared.
Valet was a disaster. Unorganized, slow, unpleasant, rude and had an attitude (to both me and several of my guests)
Front Desk staff was combative, unpleasant, unaccommodating and unhelpful (to both me and several of… my guests) For the amount of money we spent with Marriott, I expected to be treated with a bit more respect at the least. Who wants to stay in a hotel that is unfriendly and unwilling to make your stay comfortable? There are hundreds of hotels in the city we could have selected to have our wedding at, and yet we decided to use the Boston Marriott Cambridge. You would think your staff would at least go above and beyond a little bit as a token of appreciation, but that was not the case. Instead, it was the total opposite.

The rooms have been renovated, and look stylish. The bed was still comfortable. The door slides and is shared between the bathroom and closet. That door can be a tad tough to pull open. Overall, the room was comfortable and well setup. The TV allows access to your streaming services. They had a gift waiting as I am a Marriott rewards member.

From the outside it looked nice but inside it is nice the problem is that you pay 1000euri in 7 and do not give you free Wi-Fi in the room but only for a fee! At reception we were not allocated the room with 2 double beds so we went to ask for our respective rooms which gave us after a long duscussione.

Excellent location. Close to MIT. Helpful staff. Nice rooms although tiny. Great renovated bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Hallway noise would be my only complaint. You can hear people talking in the hallway or next room turning on shower. Very thin walls. Great housekeeping.

I am attending a continuing education conference at the Boston Marriott Cambridge. In arriving at the hotel earlier than expected, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member named Gina at the front desk. She was very helpful in getting me into my room early. She also made sure that I got the room toe I requested. The hotel is extremely clean and always smells fresh. Housekeeping has been very good about keeping the room tidy as well. Today I had the pleasure of ordering room service. From the call I made to the delivery to the food… It was all wonderful. The conference rooms are gorgeous and very adequate for or large group. The breakfast served was fabulous. I would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again. It has been a fabulous stay, in every manner of speaking.

Just read all the other one star reviews. It's all true. The front desk won't accommodate any guests request. We booked a month in advanced (through Expedia) and requested joining rooms and two beds but when we checked in our rooms "were not ready" and they had no idea when they would be ready… "the best" they could do was a king bed for all 4 of us… the attitude from the woman at the front desk was very rude. Since when do you get frowned apon when booking through Expedia? It is there to make it easy for guests to see all the hotels at once. Don't stay here! There are plenty of options in the area!

Terrible experience. They were renovating a floor and you would have to deal with uninterrupted noises from 9am till later 5 pm every day making it one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. No matter how much you complain to their staff, they still don't seem to understand that issue is about paying a full rate for a room that will make you wanna kill yourself during your weekend getaway. If you are having renovations that are more than obviously gonna affect the quality of your stay, say that in advance in your website and don't let guests wait until they get here to discover the "surprise" and ruin everything. Never ever Marriott again.

"Our Best Rate. Guaranteed. " is the tagline on the website. That is not the case. I just went online to check-in, only to find out the rate is now listed at half of what it was when I made a reservation a month ago. When I called to ask for the new lower advertised rate, they told me I had "pre-paid" for my room, therefore I was not eligible for the lower rate. So it seems the advertising is misleading. Buyer beware. Requiring busy professionals like myself to comb through fine print and be clear on all the exceptions to the rules does not create a delightful customer experience.

Comfortable rooms with good beds, sound and temperature insulation. No Wi-Fi, no safe (safety deposit box at front desk), low level of lighting.

Comfortable room. Good Internet speeds, but have to pay $17/day? TVs are nice and modern.

The location was perfect, and the view was amazing. The beds were very comfortable and there was many HD TV channels. Our stay was lovely.

The Boston Marriott Cambridge has a fantastic location right on MIT's campus. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are professional, polite, and helpful. The hotel is starting to show its age in some places, particularly the rug and finishings, but this did not detract from my stay.

Here for conference. Hotel room was as expected and conference hall was very nice. Only issue was the lack of free Wi-Fi outside the lobby. Also the Red T line is directly right outside for easy access.

Convenient location right at the Kendall Square red line stop, and housing a full service Starbucks in the lobby! Prices fluctuate wildly due to proximity of Harvard and MIT, so your rate will depend on whatever event might be happening there. Otherwise standard issue Marriott hotel.

No complaints here. Didnt have room service or anything but we were pleased with our room. Location is super close to the Google office and train, and there is a Starbucks in the hotel which is handy too.

Mid/luxury prices, mediocre value. First, the positive: — Marriott Gold status gets one exec lounge privileges. Lounge is decent, with nice views, lots of seating, some tasty nibbles like fried chicken (though far from gourmet food). — AC in room works well. — Nice adjustable office desk chair in room Now the not-so-good: — No bathrobe in room — Tacky envelope begging customers to tip the housekeeping. Marriott… pay your employees a living wage; that is YOUR job, especially when your guests are regularly paying >$300 PER NIGHT. Heck, charge $305 or whatever and take care of your staff, please.

Pro's — Great staff working there. Mike checked us in and was very helpful on recommendations on restaurants and places to see. Location is perfect and is right between the city and Harvard. Metro is right below the hotel. Awesome. Rooms a bit dated but great views up top and clean. Cons Parking 40$ a night. My only tip to you is parking is free Sat night to Sunday all day on the street behind the hotel. Otherwise its 1hr max every other day. Paying for internet. Really lame 12.95 per day. Just go to the Starbucks across the street. Its annoying to see when most hotels are free. Looking for a great Brunch place check out Area 4 up the street.

In terms of service, cleanliness and comfort, it is your typical business-class hotel. There are surprisingly few in-room amenities. No fridge and no hair dryer. Also the $13 a day upcharge for Wi-Fi, while not overly surprising, was still disappointing (I opted to just pay my data overages). Location is very good, with a Red Line station across the street. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel lobby, which was convenient. All-in-all it wasn't a particularly bad stay, but I wasn't impressed either. The added cost of just about everything was pretty annoying. I would love to stay in the same location again, just not in this particular hotel. I would note that if you indicated a bed choice, call ahead to confirm your request. No hotel will guarantee the beds but the check-in clerk insisted we selected a King bed for 4 people, and it was clearly marked Two Twins. We were given a room with a King and a pull-out sofa, and all was fine, but his refusal to just say "Sorry we don't have that room type" was an aggravating start to the day. A side note for any Red Sox fans: We stayed here while coming to see a game at Fenway Park. After the game, the underground train station was unbelievably crowded and felt like a sauna. We opted to walk back to the hotel. It took about 35 minutes, and was very pleasant, including a stroll across and along the Charles River.

A few days before the 4th of July, I booked a room to view the fireworks. The staff here were amazing! They helped ensure and guarantee a room with a spectacular view and INDEED, IT WAS! Wow! Upon check-in, we were greeted warmly and my two kids received a small gift from the staff. We did run into a minor issue with the room however. We checked in an hour late but the room was still not cleaned. I called the front desk and they took care of it right away while we went for a walk around Boston. When we came back, the management had delivered a big welcome basket to the room! It was such a nice surprise and totally made up for the room not being cleaned upon our arrival. We also had a breakfast package with the room. Breakfast was awesome! Highly recommend this hotel in general and if you are looking for a great view of the Charles River Esplanade on the 4th of July to see the Boston Fireworks show, it does not get any better than this hotel!

I will keep this short and to the point. When I had called and booked a room it was $470 for the night. When I arrived June 6th the room jumped to $600 for the night. When I had asked why I was told because there is a college graduation. When you are price locked for the night it is completely unacceptable to overcharge when you are being told something else over the phone. I would have booked else where. When I had pulled up to the hotel the valet guy said my truck would not fit below. I drive a Ford F-150 Lariat Edition 4 door truck. I was told it was going to be left outside right in front for the night. I was completely fine with that. As I was checking in another valet guy came in to make me aware that "he" drove my truck down below the hotel without any hassle. I said OK thanks and went about my day. Sunday Morning the same guy who drove my truck below the hotel went to get my truck. As I walked around to the drivers side to get in I noticed both my rims were grinded into the yellow curb. Mind you that I just got these rims one month prior to my Boston trip. There is an enormous amount of damage to both rims. When I confronted him he denied doing it. I told him he was the only one driving my truck on Saturday and then again when he brought it to me on Sunday. I asked for the manager and security because when I called the cops they said its a civil dispute and there is nothing they can do.

This high rise hotel is near by MIT campus. I stayed on 20th fl. The views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline are the best part of the experience staying at this hotel. The room is sort of smaller side, and kind of dated decor, but clean and tidy. There was small indoor pool and an exercise room if you need. Staffs are all friendly and nice, but when we ordered room service, the glasses were dirty. And we were wrenched from sleep by the wake up call that we didn't order at 6 o'clock on Sunday morning.

I stayed here for two nights during the winter. The hotel is fairly new/upgraded, with gorgeous views of Boston if you're on the "right" side of the hotel (request it) and a huge lobby that seems to be a working space for both guests and area residents. My bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly with my 12am check-in and I enjoyed my stay. It's a bit pricey but worth it for it's central location. Nearby: MIT, major offices, a few yummy restaurants and a few solid chains (Legal Seafoods, Chipotle), though not exactly bustling.

Excellent location and attention.

I'm used to the Marriott standard, and on that front (good bed, on-site restaurant, etc. ) it does not disappoint. For its price, though, I'd expect a lot more amenities. Instead, I found out that even the in-room Internet coverage was extra, more than just a symbolic fee, and charged per day. There's free Wi-Fi in the lobby, and you'll see plenty of guests at the hotel hanging around with a laptop or tablet for that reason. The fact that some of them are only there instead of in the privacy and comfort of their own rooms for the sake of the free Wi-Fi seemed sad to me. If you don't want the optional newspaper, make sure you tell them ahead of time to avoid being charged for its daily delivery. Comparing to other hotels in the vicinity, it was not a good value. If you need to be near Kendall Square, the location cannot be beat. Still, I'm opting for nearby boutique hotels with twice the decorating sense and twice the charm.

The hotel is very convenient if you're going to MIT, very comfortable and large rooms. The team is friendly and almost all speak English, which is good. When we stayed, they work down, and people had to move out of the station kendall at the low of the hotel, they had put a reception on the 2nd floor, which was a small inconvenience. But well, that happens to all hotels. In general, a 9 (the champions bar and restaurant have an excellent selection of fruit for breakfast, good food too). Would return without hesitation.

Check your bill after you stay here. I was erroneously charged more than $250 for no-showing a day after my reservation ended. Trying to get my money back has been like pulling teeth — I've called 6 times, emailed back and forth several times, and still nothing three weeks later. The worst service I've ever had at a hotel.

Great experience overall. In from california for business and had to split time between boston and cambridge. Usually can't go wrong with Marriott service. Hotel is very clean and staff very gracious. Highly recommend.

Well its a Marriott so I do have my "minimum expectations", I find the rooms cramped the the view is great if you can land up in the 14+floor. The pool is a steel tub, quite awful. Over-all service and location is great, lots of good restaurants around.

Outstanding service. I arrived at the hotel after spending 12 hours in the airport due to delayed and cancelled flights. The airline lost my luggage at the end of my disastrous trip. When I got there at 4 am, I told the front desk staff that I needed a 24 hours Walmart so that I could get some clothes for my interview that was scheduled for 8:30 am. The WONDERFUL staff at the front desk went above and beyond their jobs and offered my a Uniform/Suit to wear for my meeting. The gave me a pair of shoes and some pantyhose as well. It is nice to still see caring people in the world that are willing to go the extra mile. They didn't have to do that and could have very well said, "no walmart, sorry".
