We had the most outstanding weekend at the Custom House. Took three suites and they obliged all requests for same floor, timing etc. Barbara at the from desk was so friendly and helpful, & all staff were excellent. Highly recommend this spot, we will be back!

Absolutely wonderful, our family and I enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful property! Everyone is so delightful, Fabio from security stopped by at the observation deck and told us a bit of history of this gorgeous property. We will absolutely be back to this historic beauty.

Built in 1849 it is a well proportioned hotel, quiet, comfortable… minutes walk to famous Northend.

Love everything about this place. Great hotel in a great location. The first observation deck on the 26th floor gives you the most amazing views of Boston's Beautiful skylight me. Cannot beat. We will be back.

Awesome hotel, very kid friendly. American history themed playroom for the kids, personal movie theater in the hotel, great observation deck with the views of Boston in the harbor. Great location, close to Quincy market and the financial district. Exceptional service and very clean. The people at the front desk were amazing, especially Donka Nikolova! She took care of all of our needs and by the end of the trip we felt like she really knew us. Definitely going back here someday!

Wonderful hotel with nicely maintained historical details. Small kitchenette with fridge, sink and dishes as well as coffee maker. Nice size table open to living space. Couch was a little dated but not so bad. Bathroom was nice and updated. Bed was plush and comfortable. Location made this hotel exceptional. Staff was also very nice and accommodating. Breakfast included served in the counting room was great. Would definitely return!

This is the most gorgeous old hotel which was actually the Custom house originally and is very close to the water. On the 26th floor you can see a 365 degree view of Boston. The harbor is amazing and we spent a lot of time just taking in the views. The Custom House is an education in itself and I wish we had more time to take it all in. They have a breakfast you can buy a la carte and they have very good choices at a very modest price. The rooms are beautiful and although I think it would be small for more than a couple as a resort, it is now set up that way. I think there are 2 bedrooms on some higher floors. We could not use reward points for this stay but we splurged and are very happy we did. You can walk to the water and there is a water taxi to take you to the airport even.

Incredible building with rich history. Spacious rooms and perfect location. Hotel couldn't have been any cleaner. Very good coffee in the concierge. Friendly staff. Very cool roof deck. Pool table on high floor in Clock Tower. Have stayed at many Marriott. This was one of the most unique.

The Marriott as usual always makes you feel welcome theor front staff is great. Just the fact that you are so Central makes it easier to just visit locally. Taking the ferry out to the islands is a wonderful day trip with a senior. The evening cocktail hours is very welcoming and the music is also a nice little touch. I also love the fact that you can do your laundry if needed as I hate to return home from a holiday with tons of laundry.

The location is absolutely amazing! We were in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go and we had a beautiful view of the harbor from our room! The staff was very kind greeting us and had good recommendations for places for us to visit during our stay. The game room, observation deck, work out room, etc. Were very clean each time we went there. Overall it was a really great choice to stay for our first time in Boston.

The staff here is PHENOMENAL! They are so nice and helpful! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and so comfortable! The front of the hotel is really close Quincy Market (like right across the street close). Perfect place to stay in Boston!

I did not stay in the rooms. The conference food was delicious and high scale. I had mix feelings about the meeting rooms in back bay. The chairs were too warm to sit in. The ac sometimes felt like it needed to be colder and most of the rooms were fine. Very nice location with access to public transportation.

Love this hotel. Rooms are huge and the location is perfect. The T is across the street. Plenty of tourist areas within walking distance. I love staying at this place.

The hotel decor and ambience is beautiful! Room sizes are decent, restrooms are a little small, but overall very comfortable! Love coming in every night to a clean bedroom with caramel candy on my bed, FREE water, and restocked toiletries. One of my favorite things were their dispensable shampoo and conditioner boxes! At other hotels, I always use it up fast! I hate having to ask for more to be restocked because of the small mini portioned bottles they offer. My hair needs more! Here they have it all in a medium sized dispenser! You bet I used more than a small bottle every night! My hair needs to be conditioned! I loved it! It was so easy and accessible. They also offer a lot of other travel items, snacks, and games if you forget to bring anything. They're free! There should be a list somewhere in your room! Don't hesitate to ask! Great stay! You definitely won't be disappointed.

We love this place! The historic Customhouse building itself is fantastic… and the location in Boston can't be beat! The staff are so helpful… the rooms are so luxurious. What more can I say?

At the Hotel right now, up early because of construction workers and their power saws going since 7 am! This was after trying to get the young kids to sleep last night but not till after 10pm because of the music playing in the Counting room. Wish we were put somewhere else in the hotel. We really enjoyed the hotel when we first got here, but not getting a good nights sleep and being woken real early kind of ruined it all. We were originally going to stay at the Long Warf, but their website mentioned construction going on in hotel, so we changed our plans. Have to say the staff and room are really nice. Kids loved the activity area too!

Stayed in room 503. PROS: Beautiful building and rooms. Great and friendly customer service. Great views from the room and the observation deck. Close to everything. CONS: Bathroom door's lock doesn't work correctly. Thermostat has a mind of its own and the bedroom gets too hot before the living room does. Why is there no light in the front door hallway?

Location is great but this hotel gets 1-star for customer service. The amenities are limited as well. The valet accidentally marked the leather upholstery in my brand new car with a black marker. The hotel staff refused to take responsibility which was very disappointing for a facility that touts itself as upscale. Their rationale was that I did not immediately report it before I left the hotel and waited until I got home that evening. How many of us thoroughly inspect every component of our car when we get it back from a valet? Additionally, we arrived two hours before the 4PM check-in and they surprisingly would not accommodate an early check-in for my wife to nurse my infant daughter. We stayed at the hotel off peak (middle of the week in winter). It seems unlikely that there would not be a single available room to make this reasonable accommodation.

The 5-star rating is for the eye-catching historic building, visible from many vantage points in downtown Boston. We did not stay here but read that for $7, non-guests can go up to the observation deck to enjoy sweeping views of the city. We showed up to buy tickets but were told that the observation deck was closed that day because of the weather. Definitely a good idea to call them before coming.

A great location in downtown Boston. An easy subway ride from Logan Airport on the Blue Line or a quick taxi ride. Very unique rooms featuring original details of this classic and historic building. All rooms are suites!

Fantastic views, service, and a building chalked full of history. A great place to stay while being seconds from a train and seconds from a lyft/ Uber ride. A fun place for adults and kids alike!

Our stay at The Custom House was great! The staff is friendly, and the Custom House is beautiful and fill of history. There was no shortage of activities for guests, including a tour of the building, wine and cheese tasting, and a concert with carollers. The observation deck on the top floor has amazing views of the city. My one complaint is that the noise from the bars and people outside went late into the night. I could hear it even from the 15th floor.

It's honestly the best place to stay in town. You're right in the heart of downtown, and right off of the pier. Great restaurants nearby. And you're in a clocktower; bonus!

We did not stay here. We just took the "tour" of the observation deck. Note that there really isn't a "tour. " An employee escorts you in the elevator until you get to the 26th floor (coming back down is on you). The observation deck is open from 2-3 and again in the evening every day except Friday (weather permitting). The 2-3 slot costs $7 (apparently donated to charity). The later slot is more expensive, but includes a drink. The views are stunning.

Historic building in the city center. Do not rent a car as its really not needed and parking in the city center is $40 or more. Car rental agencies are located within walking distance if a car is needed. The hotel offers apartment style units and they propose different things daily, such as free mimosas, sangria, live music etc (different days)

Beautiful room. I never heard any sounds from outside the room. We had a problem with our shower and someone came immediately and fixed it. Great customer service!

I came to Boston to attend a conference and shared a suite with my colleague. When I made the reservation on Marriott website, I selected the "2 people" button which means there would be two people checking in. But there's just no place for me to put my colleague's name on the online reservation form. But I would need a receipt with two people's name on it. So we made a phone call to Marriott customer's service and they told us we can add the second person's name on the receipt when we check out. However, when we checked out this morning, the staff at the front table told us it's impossible to add name on the receipt. WHAT?! But this is not the only reason to give a one star. Another reason is when we try to communicate with the staff, they behaved unprofessional and seems very very impatient and wasn't even willing to let us finish our questions. Even though we finally got the receipt, but we waited for a long time (it made us late for the conference) and this experience was extremely unpleasant.

We stayed there for two nights for our wedding weekend. The staff's were very nice and professional. Oh my God they go above in beyong to please our need specially with our early check in for a second room. The housekeeping ladies even stepped out of the elevator to accommodate our bridesmaids more room. I will definitely go back they made my wedding day even more special♡♡♡♡♡

The best MVC in the system. The friendliest staff, best location, most interesting sites to visit, T stop right out front and best Italian and Seafood meals at a most reasonable price. My hat is off to GM Willie Nagda and his staff.

Fantastic hotel. We stayed one night only, but I may not stay at any other hotel in Boston whenever I come back. We had a very comfortable room with a great view of the bay bridge. Clean, trendy, well maintained. The staff were very friendly.

Did not stay here but instead visited the observation deck. Admission is at exactly 2:00PM and is by donation ($5 per person). Without doubt the best view in Boston, for 1/5 the price of the Prudential. In addition, the building is a historic landmark in Boston, and located closer to the harbor instead of the Back Bay.

It's a unbelievable historic place! The rooms are full of character. The molding and detail is unlike nowhere. To top all of this off the view from the observation deck might be the best view of Boston!

Unbelievable experience! The renovations are complete (including the observation deck), and the result is a world class adaptive reuse inside THE Boston skyline centrepiece. I stayed as a hotel guest (not timeshare guest), and took advantage of the low (er) rates that pop up from time to time. Don't miss out on the opportunity to stay at this landmark.

Custom house is located in down town Boston and have a great historical and modern feel I've never stayed there but had a couple of drinks white listening to the live entertainment in their quaint and intermate little bar staff is really friendly and always helpful…

Have stayed here multiple times, each time getting a new room with a nice layout and a beautiful view. The building has character, the service is friendly, and there is no hotel that I or family enjoy more.

I have been staying at the custom house one or two times a year for the past 3 years and I absolutely love it! The staff is wonderful and the location is unbeatable. In addition the rooms or gorgeous and immaculate plus I love song the baby falcons in the spring!

I have stayed at the Marriott's Custom House many times since it opened in 1997. My most recent stays were for my pre-wedding celebration on 8/24/13 and on Christmas 2012. Both times the hotel staff were very accommodating in getting me the best room possible on the 23rd floor. The staff are all around the best hotel staff I have ever dealt with. The observation deck is huge and offers a 360 degree outside view of the entire city of Boston that is unbeatable. The whole entire building is an architectural masterpiece that has stood the test of time. The Counting Room Lounge in the 1st floor offers great beverages and hospitality. The Game Room on the 24th floor offers a pool table, video games, and a glass case housing the clock mechanism that powers the tower's clock. I could watch the pendulum and the gears for hours. A great place for families, couples, or to go stag and relax. I look forward to my next stay. As for the few negative reviews of this hotel about the noise in the street from the bars letting out at 2AM if you are in a room on one of the lower floors. It's Boston, get over it.

I've stayed here a few times over the past year and the service is great! We always request a high floor, in order to have the best view possible. The nightly entertainment is fun and the company of visitors from around the world is even better.

My wife and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon over xmas 2013. The room was fantastic, the views out over the city were great, and being high up meant we were not disturbed by any street noise. The breakfast was slightly expensive, so we only made use of that facility once. The evening entertainment was good, but as we were usually tired from spending the whole day out and did not spend that long at the events. Location is great, right next to Quincy market and Faneuil hall, with easy access to lots of shopping and the freedom trail. Would definitely recommend to others to stay here, and if we are to stay in Boston again soon I will definitely consider a return.

It is Boston's best-kept secret! The staff is great… special mention to Colin and his partner (sorry ma'am, we did not get your name) for warmly welcoming us as we checked-in to celebrate our 11th year wedding anniversary Friday, Sept. 6, 2013! They made us feel so special and treated us like we've been going there for years! The hotel itself is great, it is full of history and the ambiance was warm and friendly… and words can't describe how we felt when they put us up at one of the Eagle Suites (21st floor) complete with a bottle of red wine! The view was spectacular and the suite was complete with all the amenities of a house! We live at the Salem Willows and have loved our ocean view so when we stepped out of that balcony — — we were in awe of how magnificent it was out there to the point of being speechless! We have been in many hotels around the world (Paris, London, Venice, Philippines, Nice, Hungary to name a few) and this is one of the best, if not the best experience we had hotel-wise. The location is ideal for us as it was close to the North End, Faneuil Hall, N. E. Aquarium, etc. Over-all it was an A+++ experience. From now on this will be our hotel of choice in Boston. Thank you for the fabulous experience! I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a great hotel in the area.
