I had heard great things about this Hotel. It is called the waterfront, but customers should know they no longer have a true waterfront. Newer buildings have gone up between this hotel and the waterfront. My overall opinion was OK. We felt like needed resources were not readily available without being Heavily charged. We also felt like we were in a food desert in this location. The breakfast provided with the hotel was extensive and expensive at a costs of $23.00 for the bar. A 30 minute round trip walk to Duncan donuts was the best way to manage this cost. You can take a cab (usually out front) for affordable food but then you have a very expensive cab ride. They don’t have vending machines in the building. Keep in mind if you want a cab to take you to the locations within 15 min. Walking, they will refuse to drive you there. They have an option to save 5 dollars a day if they don’t clean your room each day. Just know that this means they also don’t stock your room. So If you need toiletries, coffee, garbage liners, you have to ask for them to replenish supplies. They are prompt in responding. You also have to find a place to dump your garbage. They didn’t seem to understand the need for trash can liners. Phone use. I have AT&T service on a iPhone 4s. My phone continually either dropped calls or didn’t receive them or texts in most rooms of the hotel. If you buy internet service for your stay it is only in your room or the lobby. The connectivity in this hotel is horrible. I was so relieved to be headed home with the limited access I had. I found the most efficient and cost effect way to travel is the Silver line subway. It was easy and a 5-8 minute walk. It comes to/from Logan Airport and connects with the railways almost any where you want to go. Buy a double ticket to come and go as you can use it more then once, depending on how much money you load on it. Total cost for both coming and going is a little over 5 dollars. A one way trip 3 miles down the road in a cab was 22.00 with 5 people in the van. Also as long as you don’t leave the terminal during transfers, you can transfer without paying additional. My favorite part of the stay was the bed. It was very soft and I am searching the internet for their pillows. It would not be my preference to stay at this hotel again. It got the three stars for the bed. If I had paid to stay here, It might be a 2.5 star. However it was paid for by my school. I think people need to know what they are getting for their money.
