The Inn used to be a private residence so it has a great boutique, quaint feel. You feel like you are staying with family. You can hear your Aunt and Uncle fight next door, your drunk cousin trip up the stairs drunk, and just about E-V-E-R-Y move our family makes for $275/night… Not a great place to actually get any sleep. That all being said, Higgins Beach is beautiful. The Staff was awesome both on the phone and in person. Location is great. Food was delicious. It just depends on if you like your family or you like to sleep…

Beauitful beach! Great walking! Very charming town. The hotel is quaint and the resturant is attached so easy access and delicious food! Staff is warm and accommodating! The rooms are updated especially nice bathrooms. I will stay here again if we are ever back in this area. X.

A very nice place to stay at the beach. It's a short walk to the ocean from there. The rooms are clean and cozy and the food at the restaurant is wonderful. Try the breakfast lobster omelette and the fish tacos!

We made reservations in March for a double room. When we arrived in September they had given our room to someone else and the few other doubles had not been cleaned. Btw, we arrived at 5 p. M. I had paid a 50% deposit when we made the reservation. Their restaurant was empty, the beach is at least two blocks away and the alternate rooms we were offered. A king with a cot! or two singles looked like rooms for a nun. Not even a closet in the rooms. The manager said she called the day before but there was no record of the call on my phone. The manager wasn’t even on site. We left… the only good thing I could say about this place is that the girl at the desk was very nice and tried very hard to help us. Btw, it took 5 days to get a refund. For the price they are charging, you should be staying at a 4⭐️ hotel, not this place. There are no luxuries here.

Beautiful accommodations, friendly and helpful staff and located a very short walk to a very fun and family friendly beach. Close to Old Orchard and Portland for more action.

Live in nearby Portland. Vacationing like a tourist. The beach is within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small but we spent most of the time at the beach anyways. I definitely recommend.

Shade Restaurant at Higgins Beach Inn was wonderful! Daily happy hour $1.00 oysters were the best that I have had during my New England vacation!

This review is about Higgins the community, and it's almost like Stepford Wives 2018, they should have a gate at the front entrance off 77 and not permit people who don't live there to enter it. We were told you can go there to visit the beach, and yet when you go to park you're only allowed to park for one hour at a time and not add time for 2 hours. The beach for a small community was nice, but, don't leave it open for the public and then treat them like pariahs.

Beautiful antique hotel with all the modern upgrades. Luxury Inn 1 block from one of the best beaches in New England and an amazing restaurant to boot. Loved our honeymoon stay and we will return soon.

We stayed here for two days and had a wonderful experience! All of the staff members were super friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was reasonably priced, adorable, and came with free (delicious) breakfast. It was very close to the beach, and exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend the Higgins Beach Inn for anyone looking for a friendly, relaxing place to stay.

Wonderful beach atmosphere. Parking was hectic but manageable. I'm from Long Beach and it felt a little like home.

Excellent experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Very accommodating and professional. The renovations were very tasteful and done to preserve the Inn's unique character. I highly recommend it and we'll be back soon too!

Excellent breakfast. There were three of us. We all had different kinds of eggs — all very good. Bacon, sausage, potato, toast, all good. Coffee by Carrabasset. Great location by the beach. Ate in a screened in verandah — fresh air without the intense sunlight. Very nice.

This beautiful Inn is located in an idyllic neighborhood, with a magical beach that changes by the minute with the sun and tides!

Stayed at the Higgins Beach Inn over the weekend. What’s not to like? Close to the beach, clean comfortable rooms, very hospitable and friendly staff, Great restaurant (Shade) with wonderful seafood dishes — Lobstah rolls and $1.00 oysters at Happy Hour — the oysters, not the lobster rolls. Good drinks. A lot of locals at the bar — a good sign. We’re coming back next year for our anniversary.

We went for a light dinner and drinks. We sat at the bar and had the fish tacos my favorite dish. Always friendly and welcoming. Bri the manager is always so welcoming and friendly makes you feel so special. That's what's so special about Higgins beach.
