It's an OK motel. The front desk was friendly and understanding. We accidentally got a smoking room so we had to change it. He gave us a non smoking room and I guess those are separated from the smoking rooms in a different building but when we got to our room it still smelled like smoke just not as strong. In the bathroom it smelled like weed probably some people smoking in the back and the smell traveled through the bathroom window. The towels felt rough and it seemed like they weren't washed properly or were just really cheap. It was a little noisy due to the highway next to it but the noise from the AC helped during the night. There was obviously nothing else we could do since it was late and we didn't feel like spending too much since it was the weekend. The room was a little small but at least the bed was big and comfortable. I wouldn't stay here for more than a couple of days.
The rooms are musty but other than that, functional. Gas station across the street has good coffee. There it is, the highlights of your stay. Now let's get to the business side of things. I requested a first floor room facing away from the highway. I got neither. The owner guy — — and I'm going to call it exactly for what it is — — was clearly given keys to the castle by his wealthy family. Keep that in mind with every sentence he utters. He will play games with your room assignment and the Wi-Fi password, pry into your personal business, ask a ton of questions to challenge your authenticity (your first name again, please, for the 4th time, while he stares at your ID). And don't be surprised if he's out looking into your car at some point after you retire to your room. Meanwhile, during check-in, you can hear his kids doing backflips in the owner's private (attached) quarters next to the office, and his wife screaming at them and for him. It's a ridiculously unprofessional operation from A-Z and, as I said, I have little doubt as to the origins and reason why. Oh, the 7AM porch cleaning (by gas-powered blower) was a nice touch too. You couldn't pay me to stay here again. I just hope this owner acquires a serviceable level of professionalism at some point during his silver spoon life.
