Met every expectation. Clean, comfortable and great people.

My husband and I loved our experience at Highbrook Motel! Great staff, convenient location and very clean rooms! I highly recommend this motel and would definitely stay here again!

This is a true gem of a place to stay. VERY clean (I made a point of trying to find dust… anywhere… above door thresholds, window coverings… could not.
Beds are wonderful to sleep in. Quiet. The free breakfast provided is true home made quality.
Motel is not to far from either downtown Bar Harbor or the entrance to Acadia National Park. A free shuttle is available and the stop is at the corner.
One can NOT go wrong by staying at here. Oh, and the front desk people are locals who know the area, and care about your stay and tourist sites.
The rooms are not gigantic. However plenty big for two adults.
We had a wonderful time here.

Enjoyed our stay here! Outside town so it's quiet but either within walking distance or catch the free bus every 15-30 min at the end of their driveway. Spacious room, better then expected continental breakfast and very helpful for where to go and eat. Thanks!

A very nice place to spend a few days if you want to visit BarHarbor and Acida National Park.
This well run Motel has nearly everything you might expect in a five star hotel except a fancy restaurant. They do have a very nice breakfast that you pick up in the office and bring to your room. It is more than adequate and very tasty. The room we had was very clean and comfortable. The King size bed was like being home. My wife was very impressed with all aspects of our stay and her first visit to Bar Harbor.
The internet was easy to get to and worked ok but was a bit slower than our home connection but is was never a problem. Just requires a bit of patience.
The front desk folks were very helpful in recommending places to eat as well as things to do and see. They sent us over to Northeast Harbor for a boat cruise. The locals were sold out due to a large cruise ship visiting. The boat cruise was outstanding.
We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return.
PS the warm cookies in the evening are delightful.

Had a great stay at Highbrook. It was easy to walk to downtown and very accessible to Acadia park. The room while not the most modern decor was quiet, comfortable and impeccably clean. Enjoyed the tasty breakfast selections. The owners were a great source of information for the area.

The Highbrook Motel all the way around from staff to location to cleanliness is awesome! The rooms were Beyond clean it has to have been one of if not the number one cleanest hotel room I've ever been in. The owners are a local family very very friendly always willing to help they have a grab-and-go breakfast which I assumed probably would have been maybe muffins and danish and coffee however it's in the office and it's not a big area and they have breakfast sandwiches they have awesome scones they have a wide selection that Tumi went beyond the Grab & Go. So that was a great experience to scones or excellent the coffee is great and they have the machines in the room for you. I can't wait to go back love it it's over 5 hour drive for us but well worth the trip would love to go back in the fall.

The Highbrook Motel is a quaint group of 25 rooms that are divided into 2 single story buildings of about 12 units each with 1 assigned parking spot. The location is very good in my opinion because it is a 10 min or so drive into Bar Harbor and there is also a shuttle that will take you into the town with a waiting area at the bottom of the driveway. The rooms are a little dated style-wise but are in excellent shape and very clean. Personally, I think the decor adds to the experience. You also have an abundance of space in the rooms and ours has 2 sinks one in the bathroom and the other on the outside wall which was useful. The staff is excellent and answered all of our questions as well as a pleothra of information on check-in such as low tide for bar island etc. The breakfast was also the perfect amount before heading out to explore Acadia which is a short walk or drive away. I would highly recommend!

Loved it! Close to everything you want to do in Bar Harbor without the crowds and noise that comes with a stay right downtown. Also close to fishing excursions and whale watching tours. They keep a very clean place. Breakfast is fresh made and includes homemade scones and egg sandwichs, Irish oats and freaking hot coffee. Awesome views and nice porches to sit and wait for the coffee to cool off a bit and start the day.

Great location and rooms with a very good breakfast for such a small place. It's very convenient for the Island Explorer, and is a good home base for exploring Acadia.

This is a very nice hotel to stay at. The rooms are a good size and we're very clean. The front desk staff are very nice, and were incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The price was also very reasonable compared to the hotels in the nearby town of Bar Harbor. Highbrook is maybe a mile or two from Bar Harbor itself and even closer to what I consider to be the best parts of Arcadia National Park, the Park Loop Road and Cadillac Mountain. I would certainly recommend d staying here and I know I would again if I'm lucky enough to visit the area again.

Excellent value for the money. Rooms are cozy and clean. Grab and go breakfast is very good. The owner is at the front desk and he was very polite and helpful. Gave us great advise.

Hey we stayed here! Great little motel. I guess 2 sections the cheap seats and expensive version. We stayed in one of the cheap rooms. Great! Rooms are impeccably clean. The staff is friendly. The location is a bit of a walk to the centre of town but manageable. Not a great place for smokers. The smoking seat is a considerable distance from the rooms. But in Bar Harbor style under a great huge tree where I am sure you can ponder your decision to give up smoking. The breakfast is a sandwich, yogurt some fruit. You pick it up at the office and take it back to your room. We spend very little time in the room so this is perfect for us. Great mattress. King size bed. And I don't know how she does it but Joan dies an incredible job to make the rim shiny and clean. Great!

Good location, short walk to town. Spotless room and property. Very friendly Staff. Keurig coffee machine and refrigerator in room. Great continental breakfast. Be aware that smoking is not allowed on the property which we really appreciated because as smoke would definitely come into your room if others were smoking outside their room. Chairs are provided at the end of the driveway for smokers.

Easy access rooms are spotless clean front desk service people are very pleasant and nice the breakfast is amazing they put cookies out in the afternoon they have Dunkin Donuts with coffee in your rooms it's only a mile from downtown and the rates are very reasonable.

This place is spotless! It’s cozy and located right between Bar Harbor down town and Acadia National Park. The staff is wonderful! They went above and beyond!

We stayed 3 nights in early September 2017. Room is large with comfortable bed. Excellent continental breakfast in office. Motel is 1 mile from Bar Harbor, with propane-powered shuttle bus service to town and sites. Motel staff are very friendly with local knowledge and tips of what to see and where to eat. Motel is 100 yards from highway to town, but we were not bothered by traffic. Each room has small porch with chairs. There are many places to stay in Bar Harbor, but this motel is convenient and in quiet part of town, and close to Acadia National Park entrance. We will stay here again if lucky enough to return.

Great stay here. Incredibly clean. Was nice to have 2 sinks. Beds and pillows were comfy. Zero issues. Met some nice folks while here. Even saw some deer in the side yard area. Would definitely return.

Large clean rooms with air conditioning! Clean! Easy shuttle pick up into Bar Harbor or a short walk! And did I mention large rooms to move around in. We would definitely stay here again if we come back? They actually have two luggage holders… small thing but important. Also they have a small refrigerator. Really nice place.

Wonderful motel and friendly staff. The room was very clean and the bathroom sparkled. Great Wi-Fi and lots of electrical outlets. Plenty of lights and a cozy sitting area in the room and outside on the porch. Large comfortable room. The breakfast was wonderful! Made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend!

This is the coolest place. Clean as a whistle. Very serene. Retro style. Love it. Bed was excellent. Slept like a log. Close to down town Bar Harbor. Totally recommend this Motel.

So far so good. The room is roomy and kept very clean. It comes equipped with to sinks one inside the bathroom and the other directly outside. What's cool is that it comes with a fully functional Keurig coffee maker, not one of those disposable ones you get in a chain hotel. What's really nice is the reserved parking space directly outside the room.

This place is a 5 Star the room was spotless and that is not a stretch by any means. The bed sheets and blanket was clean and crisp. The breakfast was beyond your normal continental breakfast egg sandwiches, yogart, juice, fruit, scones, steel cut oats were fabulous and so much more… I loved the retro decor… 5 star easy. This beautifully cared for motel from the 50s was excellent! Our room was huge with a king size bed and dining area, plus there was a breakfast bar in the lobby that was amazing! Containers for everything so you could take it all with you! The hosts were wonderful and helpful and it was a great Maine experience! Also extremely close to Acadia National Park!

LOVE this motel! The rooms are pretty & quaint — and SO clean. Beds and linens and like a dream. It's a very peaceful place — never heard our neighbors. A wonderful complementary breakfast is available very morning. Hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, homemade breakfast sandwiches and the most delicious oatmeal. The owners and friendly and helpful answering questions about where to go and what to do. It's a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Bar Harbor or you can hop on the free shuttle bus that picks up across the street — so the motel location is perfect. Really enjoyed our stay here and if we returned to Bar Harbor (and I hope we do! ) we'd want to stay here again for sure.

This little motel is exactly what it advertises itself as, an exceptionally clean and well maintained property with good proximity to Bar Harbor, while off the main road so to reduce the annoyance of road noise. The staff were very friendly and the rooms feel like they have been renovated but have retained a retro feel. The grab and go continental breakfast was perfect for us as we were out the door exploring the national park on bikes early each morning. Would definitely stay again.

The Highbrook Motel is a familiy driven, very clean and quiet motel. Everything is kept in a perfect shape. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The owner even organized the replacement of our rental car, which was broken down. Definitely the best (even though one of the cheapest! ) accomodation during our 2 week trip to the US.

We wanted to visit Bar Harbor, but didn't want to spend a fortune. This motel is not only inexpensive, but neat, clean, has a nice continental breakfast and is very close to "downtown" Bar Harbor. We walked to the waterfront which was within a mile and for those who cannot walk as far, there are FREE buses which come by every 15-30 minutes! The owners were very friendly and hospitable. We will definitely go back again and tell everyone that we know about it.

How do you keep a 40 year motel cleaner than brand new? Ask the management. All I want when I travel is clean, neat and at a good price. This is it. This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The Highbrook is an easy walk (about a mile) from Bar Harbor. They have an upper building, built in the 60’s and the main office, lower building, built in the 50’s. We stayed in the upper but I’ll guarantee the lower is just as nice. The place is a little dated / retro if that is an issue for you but I felt like I was staying at Grandma’s. The chairs on the porch are a nice feature and the staff was extremely helpful with dinner suggestions and a corkscrew that we had forgotten.
