This place is Amazing! comfortable Beds, Very clean and Balcony is Stunning, walking distance to restaurants and Bars, also 5 minutes to the North Entrance of Yellowstone, We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful views, close to everything. Kitchenette is a bonus.

Clean, friendly staff, great location, and the views… superb! Loved sitting on the balcony and watching the wildlife walk thru town. Slept amazing with the window open listening to the river flow. ❤️

While the room was clean, for the room quality it was definitely a bit pricey. And it was very Motel 8ish in terms of room decor, amenities (mini mini bar soaps — how do you even shower with that? ).

The room was very clean. Beds are great but view is the best. Right on the river and view of the mountains. Deer walking thru the parking lot. Watching elk right from our balcony. Highly recommended.

Could not get TV to work but other wise cool place.

We absolutely loved our stay at Absaroka Lodge. The employees were friendly and helpful, it was easy to find, and our room was clean and very comfortable. Our room was located on the first floor and we were totally thrilled to find several elk on the lawn directly outside our room the evening we arrived and the next morning when we woke up. It was such an awesome experience and I'm sure we wouldn't have found that elsewhere within our price range. We loved staying here and plan to return every time we come up to Yellowstone. Thank you Absaroka Lodge for providing us with such a great experience!

We were super excited about this place. Planned to sit on the balcony in the evening and drink some wine to unwind from a day in the park. We are currently barricaded in our room because of bugs. We came back from dinner around 9:30 and our door was COVERED in gnats and moths. We used a jacket to wipe them off, ran in the room, and found more bugs. They were coming through the door seam! We spent the next hour killing bugs and stuffing the door seam with toilet paper. The back door to the balcony has the same thing, covered in gnats. We can’t go outside. And, we left the wine in our car and now can’t leave! There’s no one at the office to call for a spray or anything to get the bugs away long enough to even step outside. It’s terrible. There are dead bugs all over our room. We have toilet paper stuffed all around our door. Save yourself the money, go somewhere else. There’s too many bugs to be able to enjoy the amazing view. Looking outside I don’t see one person on our floor outside, so I imagine we are not the only ones with gnats all over.

This place is very basic… but, and it's a big one, it has fantastic service and was super clean. The manager gave me tons of local information and watched the rodeo parade with me. Great views!

Nice hotel with large and clean rooms overlooking the Yellowstone river. Easy walking distance of the main dining area in Gardiner.

Not bad for a night or two. Its centrally located in town which makes it all within walking distance. Every room has a view of the park, the river and bridge. The room could use a little updating and some more cleaning.

We booked this lodge after advertising kitchens. There was no kitchen at all in the room. The microwave blew the power when we used it. Had a mini frig that was a little cool at least. The staff was rude. The view was beautiful and it's walking distance from everything.

A front desk clerk let himself into my room, stood over my bed and started yelling at me. I spoke to the manager in regards to the issue and he said its fine and normal, and the clerk received no repercussions. Beautiful scenery but the management needs work.

The view off the balcony over the Yellowstone River is just wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The cold water was very cold, and the hot water was very hot. The front desk was very kind and pleasant to talk to. It is a great place to stay!

Great location. Rooms have deck and lawn overlooking the river. Elk and buffalo grazing in front of your room. Friendly host.

It was awesome, the veiws I had from my room were amazing and breath taking! I loved every minute of it that I had up their! Allot of the people that lived up there that I ran into were all very nice! I can't wait to come up again and see more that I wasn't able to see!

I visit Gardiner often as base camp for Yellowstone photography adventures. I always call Absaroka Lodge first. I wish the rest of you would stop saying here because it really disappoints me when I have to call any other lodging in the area. Walk across the bridge to Cowboy's for dinner and you're sure to have a good meal and see some wildlife on your short journey. Good clean basic accommodations. This is not a resort but there is a nice view and I always sleep well without hurting my wallet. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. DirecTV and solid WiFI are plusses. In these small Montana town you will NOT find super fast wireless anywhere but the wireless here always works well for my families multiple devices. Also note: Google shows all rooms have kitchens, this is not accurate. All may have a fridge but not all have a kitchenette.

Great — comfortable, lots of plugins, DirecTV, great Wi-Fi, balcony facing river, town and Yellowstone.

Above the River View is worth 5 star. Very clean rooms. Nice help. Can walk to eat Pizza or Cowboy Food.

I have stayed here on every winter trip of Yellowstone. The owners are very flexible regarding late night check in. One time we had to call to modify our reservations and the owners were very cool with that.

It was clean and the check in/out process was quick and easy. They even let us cancel our second night stay with out a fuss or a cancellation fee. Nice, affordable stay.

Great rooms with a beautiful backdrop. Dave, at the counter, was super friendly. Price was good as well. Beds were comfy and rooms were quiet. What else can your ask for?

Rooms were clean and maintained. Not very high class. It's an average place. But the location is amazing. Very close to the entrance of the Yellowstone park and right next to the river. With a lawn right adjacent. It's amazing. There's a Subway right in front as well.

We loved this hotel. The convienience of access to the North entrance of Yellowstone is fantastic. The view of the Yellowstone River from our balcony was relaxing and beautiful. This hotel is within walking distance of everything.
We give high marks for convenience, location and comfy beds. Joe at the front desk was a doll and gave us wonderful recommendations for what to do and what was a must see. He helped to make our trip perfect!
We would give 5 stars if a couple of things were different:
Water in shower was only luke warm by the time we got ready to take a shower in the evening.
Need to upgrade the quality of the shampoo/conditioner.
Clean better between bed and headboard and on surfaces. Lots of little flying gnats that come in from the balciny and die inside.
Should have 4 pillows instead of 3 so couples don't have to fight over the missing 4th pillow.
Need to update the carpeting.
It's an older hotrl but they have done a good job of up keep. Don't come here expecting luxury, but rather a nice, clean place to relax and enjoy the area.

We had a wonderful time at Absaroka Lodge. The setting is so beautiful that it is a destination in itself, and we enjoyed spending one of our evenings just exploring the creek, corrals, playground and campfire areas. The beds were very comfortable, the cabin was cozy, and we had a great breakfast at the lodge. The highlight of our stay was the horseback ride right from the corrals at the end of the road. We definitely look forward to coming back!

Basic necessities present. Great view out in the back. The room was extremely musty on first arrival though. But relatively clean.

We experienced a clean, well maintained room with a killer view and very comfortable beds. The Yellowstone river outside the balcony helped us get a restorative sleep each night. We were on vacation so we only used the free Wi-Fi for a quick Facebook update-no problems there. If you want all the bells & whistles, go somewhere else. If you just want a clean, comfortable place to stay, this is the place.

Our room was clean and well maintained. We were greeted by 3 deer in the parking lot when we checked in! The view from the room was great. The sound of the river at night, combined with the very comfortable beds gave us a great night's sleep every night. Management is very responsive to their guests. It's not a 5-star resort, but rather a casual, very nice place to stay.

Absolutely would recommend this place, stunning view from balcony. Very handy to amenities.

The best toilet paper in hotel.

The location was the best part of our experience. And the room was clean. However the AC unit did not work and our room was uncomfortable for reading, watching TV, eating, and sleeping. We were thankful for the balcony and stayed out there til bedtime. The night clerk tried to fix the AC but to no avail. The next morning the manager was there and we talked to her. She apologized but that was it. For the price we paid for this place, we expected a room we could comfortably use. If not, switched to one that had a working AC, or a discount on our bill. None of these things happened. We were very disappointed.

Only there for barely a night, but the is Wi-Fi and a bathroom with a full bath, lots of bugs outside but only because it is overlooking the river and they left when it got dark.

Great hotel, wonderful view, but TERRIBLE Internet. Pretty sure dial-up is faster and more reliable. We've gone here numerous times over the years and it is our only complaint.

Lest you think one star is unreasonable, keep in mind I stayed here three nights and paid $600. I realize the entire area is a rip-off when it comes to hotels, but just because you can charge whatever price you like doesn't give you the right to not live up to that price. This is a fantastic location that is utterly wasted. It has balconies, but we didn't get one. Our promised "balcony suite" was the worst room in the hotel, on the ground floor (more like a dungeon), right next to the road. That said, we did not hear the road from our room, which was nice. And again, the location is amazing, having the window open to hear the river. But all we got was a gross, buggy patio, right beside the road where everyone could look in on us. It was the worst room in the hotel, so far on the edge that the Wi-Fi didn't even work. At all. The room itself was a mess. For $200, the very least you should get is a clean room. There were dead bugs on the window sill, bugs in the bed (not bedbugs! just bugs — people before us had obviously left the patio door open, letting in a fleet of insects). The coffee pot had not been cleaned and still had the previous guests' coffee grounds and filter in it. I'd be surprised if they even washed the dishes. There were ants in the bathroom. If it had been $70, fine, but it was $200 per night. The whole hotel was booked. I get it; it's a busy area, and you can charge a premium, fine, but certain things are still expected at that price.

Good value for money. Much better idea than staying at Mammoth which is not far away (10 to 15 minutes).

The room with kitchen is pretty good while the only problem to me is there's no Wi-Fi signal in my room (201).

It was nearly all nine yards to getting 5 stars: good location, pricing, well-maintained rooms, balconies with awesome view. All of that ruined by a multitude of hairs on all four of ours pillows, including some that clearly looked like dog fur. I do understand that cheap accommodation has to cut some corners but using dirty pillows is just disgusting.

Awesome accommodations! Especially considering all the rates in the area being the same if not higher. Super clean, super quick.

The location is excellent right next to the Yellowstone River and the Yellowstone Park is across the bridge. Leave the door or window open and you can sleep to the sound of the river.

This is not a luxury hotel. It is what it is, a basic place to crash after exhausting days touring Yellowstone National Park. We stayed in winter. In the room the amenities are few but include all we needed: clean beds, made up every day — HOT water in a clean bath/shower — FAST INTERNET. We stayed a total of 10 nights. The rates were affordable enough that we kept the room for storage of our extra stuff and parking of our pick-up while we took a snow coach excursion with a photo tour group to Old Faithful for two nights. The rest of the time we used the facility to tour the Mammoth, Tower and Lamar Valley areas of Yellowstone, Cooke City and the picturesque areas of the Garner River Valley north of Gardiner but outside of Yellowstone. Prepare to be greeted in the parking lot by mule deer on occasion. We had a nice view of the Gardner River from our room. All meals must be taken off site but the rates reflect that reality. Staff here are attentive, polite and flexible. We were able to extend our stay twice without changing rooms.
