Good place to play poker.

This hotel stinks of smoke, has a pretty horrible selection of restaurants, the restaurants open late and close early. There is no place to do any laundry and the staff pretty much dont care. We had to stay for a tournament and there is pretty much nothing within walking distance. I would not recommend.

5/5 Sonsaray is the best bartender in VIP hands down the only reason I go. Being an elite client she delivers the best drinks, food and convo hands down. HollywoodCasino time to give my favorite bartender a raise! Hotel rooms I give 2/5 Everything else 1/5 2/9 Updared I was approached by my host about my feedback which is crazy because I still gave yall 5 out of 5 stars. Maybe yall can take my feedback and improve the VIP lounge as well bring back the buffet up there and stop serving cold food to people that drop half a million or more to keep yall in business. Unreal.

Do not recommend! Not safe. Our vehicles were broken in to. We went to casino and stayed at hotel. Security were no help. They claimed we did not complete the parking form which we did. Our friend’s vehicle next to us had busted window also. Pick a safer place to stay and play! Seems like an inside job since they can’t find our parking forms we completely. Merry Christmas to us as we buy new windows and drove home in 32 degrees.

Sonsaray and Jamie in VIP are very nice and polite. They made the experience wonderful. 5 stars.

I visited 99 Hops House for dinner. I sat at the bar and Christeen waited on me. She was great. Very friendly and inviting. She recommended the blackened shrimp macaroni and beer cheese and I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be going back to see Christeen again.

Nice staff. Clean. Machines ate spread out nicely not all bunched together Would prefer more game tables open during day with lower minimum.

Checked into my hotel room and it looked like a murder scene yikes 😬… if you like blood splattered all over your walls and urine sprayed everywhere in the bathroom. Hollywood is the place to be.

Nice casino, but the restaurants aren’t open for people staying during the week, so we had to drive for food for 3 days 😭

I like the variety of the machines. It has a no smoking area and it was very clean.

Do NOT stay at the casino for a concert and expect to have shuttle service. Worst experience ever. Long line. Cost 15.00 for a wristband and waited an hour for a shuttle. Not worth the cost of staying there and taking the shuttle. Will Never do this again.

The suite was outdated and bed felt like an old spring mattress that squeaked anytime you moved. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch, which was not much better, because the bed was so uncomfortable and loud. Their buffet breakfast on the weekends is a joke at $20 a person, and their casino really leaves much to be desired. We ended up just using the $25 credit we received when signing up and then left back to the room. The only redeeming quality was the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay more pleasant. Unfortunately, when all is said and done, the rooms are not worth what you pay for. Also, on our last morning, we went down to the Hollywood cafe, and one gentleman was running the show all by himself. We noticed multiple come and go from the back room, they would notice the long line and rush out before being seen. I’m not sure what all that was about, but leaving the employee to do everything by himself with a line of 15 +people is ridiculous.

Rude service. Had 2 people checking in on a night of a concert. Even if you have a room you have to pay a extra 15 for the shuttle service. They would not honor a room I had booked on hotels. Com Would not stay here EVER.

They charge you for EVERYTHING and there rooms are small and they don't have microwaves in the room this place SUCKS.

I went up for the first time on Friday, just to hang out around town and decided to stop in. Whoever hired the bar tender Ron? Did an amazing job. He was funny and attentive and honestly his drinks were the best I had. I just want to make sure he gets recognized. Keep up the amazing work Ron!

Nice rooms however they cannot accommodate bigger groups we were there on a weekend and could not even eat together there was only 30 of us but they refuse to accommodate us and we had to meet outside the hotel at restaurants to eat and to be together it's crazy completely ridiculous and they even kicked out one of our people in our group because we got a little loud and also complied and everybody left her room but an hour and a half later she was watching TV and they came up and kicked her out just completely horrible do not recommend this place they refuse to give her a refund and help her.

I have traveled for years for work and for pleasure and I have never had this experience. At check-in I was advised that hotels. Com had never paid them so when I handed them my credit card for my incidental fee I was charged again for my room that had been paid for a month prior that I had proof had been paid for. We were told they could accommodate a group that's a lie. And kicked out of the hotel after having no one in my room because people were fighting in the hallway outside my room. And after being accused of partying not only was I kicked out of the hotel and followed to my vehicle but never once asked if I was drinking by either a police officer or a hotel staff member. What's hilarious one of the police officers who came to evict me from my room even said what's going on she's not doing anything. So I guess when other people on your floor are being loud obnoxious fighting smoking pot in the hallways and they just happen to be outside your door even though you're in your room in your pajamas watching the news you can still get kicked out. And be out $1, 000 for staying in a hotel for 6 hours because they double charge you.

Guests are not allowed to consume beverages supposedly to be in compliance with keeping a mask on at all times. However casino policy still allows guests to smoke. How is that any different or worse than expelling even more particles throughout the air? This was just a false attempt at adhering to a guideline but trying to keep business and customers. What a joke.

Like it best comps. But dont like being followed by staff telling me to cover my nose. Also no drinks really thats dumb. Also I dont like the way truck drivers r treated there not welcome, u need to rethink that. Truckers bring in money. Was told general manager dont like truckers hmm maybe u dont like income.

Well one way that the casino could improve us by teaching their managers or their leaders in certain departments not to treat customers like criminals just because someone doesn’t fit a certain type or nationality does not mean they deserve less customer service does not mean that they deserve to be treated less than a human being that matters.

Great casino! Love the vibe, tall ceilings, bartenders, and the consistency in their fresh, cold draft beer! One thing we’d love to see changed is the music—there needs to be some variety… we basically have the constant 80s mix memorized.

Worst place ever. They mistreat their staff and steal money from the employees. They promote the worst and oppress the great employees. Go to Ameristar, the people who work there are treated better and are WAY nicer.

It was just ok… Pretty clean and all but not the best selection of slots and definitely no big wins happening while we were there. People didn't seem happy to be there, not a fun atmosphere.

I usually like it there. Not happy about the mistake email they sent saying you had $50 free slot play. We drove all the way over there for them to tell us that it was an error. It would have been nice to have been notified that the email was a mistake.

We paid for the shuttle service when we checked into the hotel. The event we were attending was cancelled. We were hoping for at least a $20 credit so we could go to the casino or maybe grab a bite to eat. They were adamant about not giving any kind of credit or refunds! Will never stat at this location again. Plenty of other hotels nearby.

It’s pretty sad when a event is canceled, you will not refund money back for the shuttle service, I completely understand it’s a rain or shine event or perhaps someone just wants a refund for whatever reason.

The kiosk were the bands were sold at redirected our concerns back to Live Nation. I spoke with someone at Live Nation this morning they are not aware of this.
I spoke with a person at Hollywood Casino shortly after, he told me yes they are refunded the money back to bring your band to the hotel front desk. I drove up there only to be told only if you stayed at the hotel we would honor the refund. This was a canceled event,
The fact your only refunded certain people is totally ridiculous.

Had a great time! The rooms are very nice and clean great food! All the card dealers are very nice and friendly! Actually all the staff was very kind! Also paid us some money!

We’ve been to many casinos and this is absolutely the very worst. The hotel room was mediocre and that was the best thing they have. The VIP lounge was like a dive bar with head pounding music and no waiters. You have to wait in line to get your own drink and no snacks. People are not friendly and overall rating would be 0 stars. We won’t be going back.

Today was our anniversary and we decided to stay at the Hollywood Casino and hotel to celebrate. Bad decision. After spending several hours gambling in the casino we went up to our room and got into the jacuzzi before going to bed. After we got out of the jacuzzi and opened the drain we noticed it was draining very slowly. We went into the bedroom, my husband laid down on the bed while I put a few things away in the room. I walked back into the bathroom and noticed water all over the floor. The jacuzzi water level had barely gone down but what did drain had backed up into the shower stall and proceeded to overflow onto the floor. Also a lot of dirt came up through the drain into the shower. I mopped up the water with towels but the jacuzzi tub was still draining and there was still about two inches of dirt and water in the shower. I put towels front of the shower on the floor and thought I would just tell the hotel staff about it in the morning because It was almost midnight and we were ready for bed. I picked up a pillow to fluff it up and there was mouse droppings on the bed where the pillow had been! I immediately called the front desk to report it and said we were checking out and I wanted a refund. There was no argument from the supervisor and he said if we wished to return another time he would comp a room but I said I doubted if we would come back to stay in the hotel. Food was also not the greatest. We had supper in the buffet.

If you stay at this hotel and accidentally leave something sentimental behind, don’t expect to find it even if you call shortly after leaving. My family stays here a lot but I will never come back. The service is always great, the room service food is good, the casino is fine whatever. But my daughters beloved puppy stuffed animal that she has had since a baby was left behind on accident and clearly a heartless maid didn’t follow the rules that you turn in left behind items to security and they are to stay for a certain amount of days. No… I’m sure she threw it in the trash and didn’t think twice about it. Meanwhile my family is devistated. That puppy held so many memories for us. We’ve spend thousands at this hotel but they lost our business this time. Get a better maid staff.

Stinks like bars used to when people were allowed to smoke in bars. They have a small (about 2 rows of machines) non-smoking area. It has as much cigarette smoke as the rest of the place. I'm not a gambler, and have never been in a casino before — we were just there because they have a restaurant (99 Hops House: lots of good beers, good burgers, friendly waitresses, mediocre tacos) and we were going to a concert nearby. I doubt I'll ever set foot in a casino again. People obviously suffering the effects of decades of tobacco use grimly throwing their money into electronic "slot machines" is one of the most depressing sights I have ever seen.

This facility has extremely poor customer service. I called the morning to confirm my reservation and was mislead about the deposit. I still decided to check-in. After getting to the room I noticed that both beds have stains on the covers. I called the front desk and made a request to get the linens changed. After my initial request I left my room and came back to the same linens. Made a second request and left again. Returned to the room and to see that a folded up brown cover was placed on the first bed so clearly housekeeping has been to the room! Over the course of four hours I have made four request, spoke to the front desk manager and been told that the housekeeping manager was going to come to my room. No one has came! Beautiful casino and hotel but the customer service is extremely poor!

Was very very disappointed in the buffet. Most of the food was very stale looking and tasting. The Chinese food was dry and tasteless. The fried chicken was dry. The large pieces of fried catfish were slimy and undercooked. Worst dining experience I've had in a while. Not sure how you can mess up corn on the cob but even the corn on the cob was soggy and tasteless. Overall the only thing that tasted good were the mashed potatoes. Even the first salad on the salad bar had stale brown lettuce in it and though the shrimp were on ice I don't believe they were at the right temperature. The crab legs which cost extra were not at their best and had been sitting in a pot for a while. My son is in the food industry and he told me if inspectors were there that night they would probably be shut down. Most of the food was not at the acceptable temperature for safety. My son had received a free buffet comp for gambling there and we had 3 birthdays in July so I flipped the bill for the other three which was over $70. I should have complained that night but my daughter said, what do you expect for $17.99 and I said I expect my food to be better than Golden Corral. It was only 7:15 p. M. When we got there so it's not like it was real late for the food to get that stale. Staff was friendly but other than that food was gross. Glad this review thing showed up on my phone because I had been meaning to email and Hollywood and let them know.

Stayed here for one night to celebrate our 31st Anniversary by going to a concert at they amphitheatre next door. The front desk was very friendly at check in. Had a nice dinner at 99 Hops. Room was nice and clean, bed was too firm for us and VERY squeaky. We loved the shuttle service available to be used to and from the amphitheater. It was fabulous! Got right on both directions, no walking long distances from parking lot or sitting in long lines to leave parking lot. We will definitely use this service again. Played a few slots walking out slightly ahead. Thank you for helping to make this a wonderful Anniversary!

We didn't get our room until 5:30 when we arrived at 3:45. The front desk staff was quite rude. 5 people working, but when there was only one working when they called with info that our room was ready. We had to stand in the long line again. When we went to dinner, since we didn't have a room key, we didn't get the $10 discount at the buffet. We were told at buffet the General Manager would refund the money to us upon checkout. No GM to be found and we received the same rude attitude upon checkout and they didn't have the authority to give us the promised $10 refund. It's the principle more than the money that ticked me off the most. There was no shampoo in the room. I won't go back. It was fabulous property when Harah's owned it!

Everything was great except the room we had was not too clean. Had a half eaten cookie wafer on the floor by the bed and two dirty wet wash clothes hanging from the magnified mirror in the bathroom. Only had two towels. Not happy at all. Good thing it was a complimentary room, if I would of had to pay the price tag on these rooms I would of insisted someone get suspended from their job. I feel I should be compensated since I myself paid a hefty price for these so called complimentary rooms that don't get cleaned or stocked properly. So you asked for my take on my stay, I really never complain but the past two months here has been very disappointing and checking out other casino's to give my business to. No respect or appreciation here. Very sad. And believe me my friends will follow. I'm being generous by giving a two star rating.

We had decorated a room for my mom birthday. The rooms were nice and the staff was great and accommodating. I wish I had pictures to post. We decorated the room with roses and a small food bar. She loved it! Parking wasnt bad, the view was great.

Worst casino experience ever. Playing blackjack with a friend, we were both on a good winning streak and having a great time. Get a tap on my shoulder and it is security telling me that I have to be quiet. Really? Win but shut your mouth I guess. A few minutes later after a couple more wins, the security guard taps my friend on the shoulder and instructs him that he now has to leave! He was being no louder than many other people who won, but I guess because we were winners the casino can't allow that to happen. I have been in casinos all over the country and in other countries. Never, ever seen or experienced the same treatment in any of them. I vowed never to return.

Me an my friend went there for dinner at the buffet. Man couldn't believe all the different kinds foods. When we walked in I noticed the desserts bar. Wow just looking at the desert bar you gained a 100 pounds. The food was good an I was very full when I left there. Will be back.

First casino I had ever been to I love it. I have my own lucky machine, and every time I walk in there I put at least $7 in the machine and I'll win the minor jackpot or close to it. Which may not be much but, I love it. It's the gambling thrill I guess:)

I always love visiting this Casino and will come here for many years. Even though the name has changed from what it originally was. It just depends on which night you go and what you play also if you are gonna hit there too. No complaints from me. :-)

Always stopped there going through St Louis. Sometimes stayed a few days. But we drive a semi and stopped today only to find no parking for us. I saw an answer about damage to the lot… the lot is obviously old and now just empty. Why not make a gravel lot that is truck accessible? Most casinos manage to upkeep lots for trucks. Many even offer shuttle service if the lot is too distant so trucks must be profitable. To keep people out who just park there and do not use the casino, hotel or restaurants… why not charge for parking and reimburse if a set amount is spent? You have made your facility unavailable to us now.

Wonderful selection of choices. Seafood Pasta and Shepherd's Pie were outstanding. Offering guest a better $$ will make it even better.

The new Suites are gorgeous! It's very sad that they took the bathtubs out of the regular rooms. That was 90% of the reason for staying there. I'll still go there and play but only get a room when there's a concert in town that we're going to… and how many drawing should one person be allowed to win and enter. I don't know who the guy was that was drawn in every drawing the last Saturday in April… he really win 8 jackpots? It was By Invitation Only did he get 8 invitations? How can you be picked that many times?

We spent the weekend in St Louis and booked a room at lumiere place. After experiencing such rudeness and unhelpfulness there we decided to stop in at Hollywood casino for the evening for some gambling. From the moment we arrived everyone was amazing. The guys in valet were friendly and quick. The casino staff was equally friendly and attentive. Literally every interaction was pleasant. I had fun even though I lost money all night. My partner did well at the tables however. I won $100 on the last machine I played right before we left so the evening ended on a high note. I was wishing we were staying here instead of the underwhelming Lumiere place. We will definitely return the next time we're in town.

I really enjoy myself every single time I'm there. I treated myself to the all you can eat buffet it was seafood night so you were able to endulge in all you can eat crab legs as well as other items on the menu.

Totally a joke! You're better off playing the lottery, after 3 years coming here and never won. If it wasn't for my wife wanting to come to lose I would never step foot in here. As of today I told her I'm done with this joke ass place.

This is the most comfortable casino in STL, VERY spacious with mega sized big screens for sports coverages … best and by far largest non-smoking area. All else in stl doesn't exist or are a poor after thought with crappy worn out machines stashed away in the back out of sight … one way or another there are fewer smokers everyday so remember this place when all Casinos ban smoking? … Hollywood tried best.

Visited for the first time last month, joined the rewards program and was told that I would be reimbursed for my slot play as long as I played a minimum of $50.00 and the maximum amount I would be reimbursed was $500.00. I played nothing but slot machines and lost just over $100.00. I attempted to call and speak with a representative on FOUR different occasions, leaving my information for return calls and never got a reply because I was told that I would receive an e-mail when my free play was available and I never received one and the last thing I wanted to have happen was that I missed out on collecting $100.00 in free play. I called a fifth time and finally got someone on the line and asked the representative if they could look up my free play and I'm told that they don't have the ability to do that and I would just have to come to the casino and they could check on the kiosk. So, I returned last night to redeem my free play and there's nothing showing on my card but $1.08. I go to the service desk and the representative tells me that the computer shows that I only played $19.00 and I didn't meet the $50.00 requirement and therefore was not eligible for free play. All she could offer me was an apology when I asked how that was possible when I spent over $100.00. I'm absolutely livid. Unless someone rights this wrong, it looks like my first visit to your establishment will be my final visit because your company did nothing but completely rip me off.

Been going here for almost a decade, they have very friendly staff and good security, for those of us who like to bring the girls out for a dinner and a drink that's very important to feel safe. The slots are pretty nice, not the best I've seen, but they make up for it on the tables, overall good time and experience with other card players. They have a buffet and a really clean nice bar as well as a pretzel resterant for families. A nice clean cafe and a couple fancy restaurants and clean rooms, very important! It's a nice place to go to for concerts in the summer time as they have an amphitheater and a whole list of great bands that every year.

We have visited numerous casinos in several states, but never to a Hollywood. We signed up for the players card and were surprisingly told no new sign up free play. The machines were quite stingy. A big mix of new and older machines. The five in our group couldn't get a win. We decided the better bet was to try the restaurant. The food was good. The prices fair and a massive amount of craft beers. The rooms were clean and spacious, though our view was of the parking structure. Plenty of USB jacks for charging. Coffee in room. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice.

After a dealer change, my experience turned very poor very quickly. The new dealer was a complete jerk. I explained to a pit boss who then immediately went and said something to her boss. Without any explanation the "big" pit boss called security and told me I had to leave. There are plenty of better casinos in St. Louis. This place has forever lost my business.

The hotel is beautiful. Casino is huge and clean. We always have a great time when we visit. All you can eat crab legs on Friday nights at the buffet. The rooms are clean and the beds are super comfy.

Casino does not pay well. I was very dissatisfied that I spent nice money, but never won. The room was decent, but only had a smoking room. Stale smell upon entry. Bed comfy, though. I live over an hour away, not worth the drive.

This was my second time to stop and play a few slot machines. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Tonight the lady next to me was winning big! I really like the Coca-Cola drink stations. The staff were nice and welcoming. As a non-smoker, I forgot how"stuffy" and "stinky" the rooms can be when you first enter. (-1 star). When I come back to St. Louis, I'll play again.

As usual. No winners. Prime rib on buffet was the worst ever. Employees at buffet were not friendly. Argosy buffet the best out of both casinos. But there again on thanksgiving no winners. As usual.

I can only describe my Casino experience, which was not worth the drive. Way too many people so it was hard to get a machine I enjoy playing, and the air was thick with smoke. The Casino is a big place but it seemed almost cramped. Maybe it was just bad timing but our experience was less than memorable.

I was very disappointed in my recent visit. The room wasn't ready. So we got down graded with no discount. They stated that the rooms were not clean yet. They may need to hire more house keeping. Then when arriving in the room that was available, the floor was sticky… we will not be staying here again.

Rooms were spacious and clean. The little cafe downstairs had staff that didn't know how to provide customer serivce. We repeatedly gave it a new chance everyday and only on the last day did Ezra change our minds about the place. He was forthcoming and awesome. Bar 99 was great too. Great service and great drinks.

We went for Thanksgiving buffet. The servers and everyone working at the buffet were super nice. I hope all the diners were very kind. The food was! quite good considering it is a buffet. You can get anything! It was a good Thanksgiving experience.

This place really has it all. Plenty of gambling, eating, and drinking options under one roof with a good hotel. Only thing missing would be a pool. Update Oct 2107. The remodeled rooms in the Sunset Tower were poorly designed. Tubs were removed. New showers have the doors on backwards. You have to get into the shower to turn the water on because the door opens from the wrong side. Towel racks are unreachabe from the shower and there are no hooks anywhere. The new sliding bathroom doors are just dumb.

The Vip dining area needs some inprovements. Most of the waitress are good. There is one who is really bad and the manager backs her. When you tell the manager information regarding her, he makes you feel like you sat in the wrong section. He never says Thank you telling me. Valet parking is available but the valet men are slow. Just like all casino, you have to catch it on the right day. They have no official way to suggest change or point out improving customer service.

Worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. Mold and dust in coffee cups and coffee maker. Ripped sheets and even though it was supposedly newly remodeled, sink was cracked. To make things worse, there was construction in the room directly above us that began at 7 am. When I called the front desk to complain about construction waking my family, no one would answer the call. When I went down to speak with a manager, I was told one wouldn't be available until 3 pm. Ask for a corporate number and was only given an email. Horrible experience.

Of course I had I good time. I came out on the positive side. Air circulation is terrible. My clothes reeked of smoke. I would return.

Mediocre Hotel and Lack of Accountability among staff. I travel to St. Louis for business several times a year, I've made my last stay at this hotel because while I really enjoy the casino side, the hotel itself is simply unacceptable! In the past 5 months I've had to stay on 3 occassions the first time they placed me directly next door to construction. I was unable to conduct a simple morning business call due to the news. I understand renovations happen and I was busy so I adapted and took calls outside not convenient but it happens. The next time I asked about construction on check in and was told there was none near me… this was a lie… repairs began one morning at 10 not a renovation but apparently repairing guest damage. No real apology from staff when I complained no real accountability for the confusion. This most receent time I again asked during check in… no problems over the weekend then again today pneumatic drill so load my ears are literally still ringing from the sound. When I complained I was basically told it was my fault and they had a memo on the desk (not there when I checked in Saturday) explaining the construction. They told me it was my fault for not requesting the rodeo tower… really? Horrific service level at the hotel which is a shame given the niceness of the staff at the casino and restaurants. The only people I've seen get good care are out of control drunks late at night.

When I go home I stay here. This hotel and Casino have everything you can think of. Clean place, pleasant and friendly staff. Can't wait til my next visit.

When check in is 4pm. I expect my room ready. However it's a nice room. Just didn't like waiting over an hour for it. I will be back though, love the shuttle for the concerts.

Place has been nicely remodeled. Very large casino, confusing finding your way around the place. Yet to have any luck winning on their slot machine's. Had dinner a few times in the place. Very large selection of all types of good. Very good and displayed nicely. A bit pricey but worth it.

Awesome casino. Multiple card games and great tournament poker set up. Don't know about slots but didn't seem to have much more than regular ones but still good variety.

Love this place. The single best buffet in St. Louis. It is a little pricey, so I wouldn't eat here very often. When I go buffet… it will be at Eat-Up in Hollywood Casino. Staff are always pleasant. Restaurant is always clean and Always lots of food options.

Its always a gamble but I enjoy it. You never know what is going to happen. I have a good time every time I come plus I usually leave with some even if it is even or a good time. Only thing wish they had tables for non-smokers as well cant stand playing roulette with smoking around other than that great times.

Hollywood Casino is a chock full of slots and plenty of gaming tables. We're here often. It's a large venue compared to similar Indiana Casinos. It has a nice Cafe inside, a big bar with big TV screens, and clean restrooms. Outside the casino is a night club called Boogie Nights, two restaurant's and a cafe. We've tried the restaurants but were not impressed. Try them yourself though because apparently we are picky. I really like the architecture of the hotel too. Everything has a cinematic theme of course, with pictures of your favorite stars staring at you in every room. Oh and be prepared to pay a rediculous $12 resort fee!

The hotel room wasn't anything special but it was clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing. Could have stayed somewhere much nicer for what we paid but we were really paying for the convenience of having the casino right down stairs. Had a great time.

Was confronted by a valet driver. Like he was a thug. He about hit me walking back to my truck. Then gothe out of the car he was, valet parking and told me to watch out. Pedestrians don't count? Wanted to fight me? Really? $700 I will spend elsewhere. Lmao! What a joke! You gotta fight after you spend money?

My husband and I went in today to have lunch and play our free play. While trying to enter the casino I was stopped for an ID check, no big deal I usually am stopped. The problem is after running my ID through their little machine that validates it's real, the lady asked my address that is on the ID I gave it to her no problem, then she asks my age I give it to her, then she asks my zodiac sign, then she asks if I have a credit card or other card beside my player card that has my name on it well no I just carried in my ID and players card she then asks me to sign a piece of paper so she can compare my signature to the one on my ID. And then has the nerve in middle of all this to ask if I have gray hair… I am 24 years old what does my hair color have to do with anything. I felt like I was being harassed when you could easily tell my license is real maybe it's because I was a different race than the security guard. Let's just say I only spent my free play there and I probably will not ever be returning. Not cool Hollywood!

We love this Hollywood Casino if you love table's come here to play. The slots are nice and you can win some and the Casino looks very nice and clean. Parking is GREAT cars you can pull right up front and the guys are nice and respectful and if you have an RV or a semi "18" wheeler your in luck they have parking for you to nice big lot. The entertainment was nice they have a club in the Casino. Food was great and at a good price to. The new member deal is cool spend $500.00 get it back. We have not been back to use it but we will ASAP. This place is a must so stop on by.

We went to the club, Boogie Nights, at the Hollywood casino. The experience was really good. We had a good time at the club, the drinks were really good (a little expensive for us though). The casino looked fun and we will definitely be back. The valets were very nice and accomodating, but we waited quite a while for our car — we didn't realize that we had to swipe our valet ticket for them to retrieve our car. We didn't see a sign so we waited and waited, intil finally one of rhe guys asked us if we needed help. Otherwise, it was a good time!

Took my wife for a romantic Valentines night out… Things started out rocky as soon as we arrived. Room was supposed to be ready for check-in at 4:00, but it wasn't ready until 7:00. We had to check our bags and wait… I complained and they gave us $25 for drinks while we waited. One of the things we both noticed as soon as we entered the Hotel was the smell of cigarette smoke, and it only got worse as we walked closer to the Casino. I guess it’s my bad for not checking into this more before hand, but not being smokers this really caught my wife and I off guard. We had dinner at Charlie Gitto's and thank goodness it was great. Food, service, atmosphere was all good. Even though we are not typically gamblers we decided to go try our luck. Again the smell of smoke reeked through-out the entire establishment. They do have a couple no-smoking areas; however you must endure a smelly walk to get there. After some gambling and actually winning a little we finally checked into our rooms. The room was clean, but starting to show its age. Some of the wall paper was peeling back, lights in the bathroom did not work and again everything reeked of smoke. I called the front desk to ensure that we had a non-smoking room as requested and supposedly it was. We tried to convince ourselves that it was not that bad; however we both could not wait to check out the next morning.

Our experience at the casino and restaurants were all very good, especially since we walked away +$450. The hotel on the other hand… as soon we we got out of the elevator there was a trash can overflowing with trash. Chicken bones and and bottle of chew spit. The carpet was nearly as bad with cigarette butts and food crumbs. I didn't think much of it at first, probably just a messy guest. But ut was still there the next morning and even at 11 am when we were leaving. Besides that everything was nice. The room was clean and pleasant, food was good, etc.

The casino is ok, but I always seem to have bad experiences when I go there. Fellow gamblers always seem to be angry and defensive, no matter the situation. The cashiers aren't friendly and will often let big spenders skip ahead of you, even if you're in the regular member line. I never go home a winner and always feel anger, sadness and regret when I leave the premises.

I am not currently old enough for the casino, so I am just criticising the hotel itself. The layout is horrible; it is inefficient, confusing and annoying. The staff wasn't very helpful, some tried but had no idea what they were talking about. I was simply trying to find the fitness center, which was listed on the website, but most employee's didn't understand fluent English or know there was even a fitness center. There were a couple of employee's that understood what I was talking about and knew where it was or so they thought, they both ended up being dead ends. I feel you should also be able to have the option to take the stairs, but you can't; unless you want to walk all the way down to the first floor and all the way around the hotel back to a main entrance (BTW this place is the size of like three Nebraska Furniture Markets, not ideal to walk around when it's freezing out). Once you step into the stairwell you are completely trapped, to open a door on any of the floors it has a keypad for staff use only. The elevator is weird too; you scan your key card for your room and then push the desired floor, so you need to have a key to get anywhere (it's kind of neat in its own sense). It doesn't bother me, but if you hate smoking then definitely don't stay here. This whole building reeks of smoke. Overall, there was nothing special about. Rooms were kind of outdated and stuff was worn down looking, staff wasn't the kindest and it's just not the greatest.

Went for new years eve. Is great that there isn't a cover and was able to get a drink. Didn't like how everything reeks or smoke and the selection of alcohol could have been more robust.

I am letting the public and Hollywood casino know how I feel about your new point program. I think it sucks and as of Jan. 6th when this go into effect I will no longer be a patron of yours. PLAYERS ATTENTION! I got my monthly offer program yesterday and I was reading about the new points program effective Jan. 6th. Here is the new program $1.00 coin in = 1 point on slots $2.00 coin in = 1 point on video poker 500 points = $1.00 FREE SLOT PLAY Now that means a patron MUST SPEND $500.00 TO EARN $1.00 in comp points. Really Hollywood you must be crazy, I can see your gamblers flocking to other casino's, no one has a program as bad as this one. And what makes it even worse your machines don't hit to keep a person playing to even earn the points. Some people don't use their points for your food because to be honest even being free it's not worth it and to use them at a gift shop, what gift shop? The jewelry store costs twice the normal comps, Auntie Annie's takes twice the comps. And you can no longer take your own cash earned out for cash you must play it as slot play. GREED is an ugly thing and will cost you many players. As of Jan 6th my gambling dollars will go to just about anywhere but here!

Upper management has no sense of what is going on. Security thinks that they are in charge of the entire business. Have low level individuals handling high net worth customers. Gives Hollywood Casino a bad name. No style of how to run a casino by this group. Tried to complain and they hung up on me. There is a reason why this Casino is rated so low.

I played at the casino. It was exceptionally clean, service was outstanding with a nice variety of tasks games. I could only find penny slots however which was a bit disappointing.

The room was nice, but it was a complete haste just to get to my room because the key card would not work in the elevator. 4 key cards later we were able to get to our room. Once we left the room and tried to get back to our room later on it was the same problem all over again… other than that frustrating problem it was ok.

So there were pros and cons. The casino was nice, and I enjoyed the small amount of time we spent gambling. The poker staff was average. However our hotel experience was not the greatest. When we arrived the room key system was down and they were requiring bell hops to take you up to your room and let you in, however you still did not have a key. It wasn't until several hours later that I went down to the front desk and they were able to finally make me a key. This hotel is also right in the middle of no where. We ventured out for food a couple times and ended up driving quite a ways before finding anything. I will say that the Buffet was VERY good for a casino. Very fresh and tons of higher end options. Next time I'm in town I will choose to stay elsewhere which is disappointing because our rooms I always free at Hollywood properties.

My husband & I are truck drivers & we were just there Oct 18-19 2015 & had a BLAST! Together we walked in with $250 & walked out tripled that plus! Don't believe the lies you read on here about tight machines, They were very loose! FUN, FUN, FUUUUUUUUUNNNN! We'll definitely be back!

Staff is helpful & friendly. Dog friendly. Offers a $10/person shuttle ride to Amphitheatre includes $10 food voucher for hotel restaurants & vip entrance. The place to stay for concerts. 3 thumbs up!

Try Ameristar anywhere but here!. I have ended up here three times because we visit harrahs property's all over the U. S and they comp us here. My relatives live a 5 min drive from there too. But I've had it, never again. We even made a visit to Ameristar while we were there got a rewards card in hopes to get a discounted room there the next time we are in St. Louis and what a difference there. Nice friendly staff. Looser slots. Better atmosphere. We have had issues at every visit. Wrong room, or someone already in the room. Lol. Or key wont work. No room near elevator. They put is in a NON smoking room after we made reservations a month ahead for a smoking room. When I informed them of thier mistake they said take it or leave it thats all we have and if you smoke in there we will fine you 250. Dollars. LOL I said well do you ever put non smoking people in smoking rooms? She said oh no we never do that. I called to complain to a higher up manager,,, lol got a voice mail and he NEVER returned my call. Whatever, the food is cold and gross on the buffet. There is no Pool not even a hot tub. We have never won there and sometimes there are as many as 8 in our group. They charge for drinks while your playing. When I complained she said well, this is NOT vegas. They say it is illegal there to comp free booze. Well maybe so but they could have happy hr. Or a discount coupon for guests and gamblers or a buck a beer or something they charge a high rate for a drink there.

Pretty disgusted with this place and not very happy! I was going to stay there two nights but ended up only staying one. First night I got a bed that was very uncomfortable and sunken in some places but that I can deal with. However on the second night after the concert I went back up to my room on the 6th floor room 606 and found cockroaches! Killed one and was pretty disgusted so I called the front desk and they said they didn't have another room available at the time as I sat down on the chair another BIG roach crawled out by my leg. Needless to say I packed up my things at 1am and drove 5.5 hours home. If that's not bad enough this place is located right by a landfill and you can smell the trash when your outside or driving by. Wouldn't recommend this place especially at $150 a night. I've been to plenty of hotels all over the country and never had a roach problem until now. Wish I would have done my research and looked at the reviews on this place before dishing out $300+

First night the bed was terrible so we switched to a room with cockroaches the next night, most disgusting hotel stay ever. Will never be back to stay at a hotel across the street from a landfill. And yes you can smell the landfill. Never again.

I was at Hollywood Casino in St Louis playing craps June 26, 2015 @ 10 AM. A lady by the name of Diana was dealing on my side. In my opinion this woman was very rude. I think some one in management should talk to her and suggest she treat players better. I think it is important that guests be treated with respect by all dealers. Chuck Balstrode.

Its a wonderful place to stay. Charlie Gitto's and the Eat up Buffet are delicious. I would stay there again for sure.

Worst service. I left a small bottle of medicine on a table, I was gone for five minutes and someone stole it OR threw it away. They did not offer me anything for my trouble, or state that they would work to resolve this issue. The supervisor did absolutely nothing.

There are no winners here. Not one person at any table I went to won any money. Decks are not standard 52 card decks. Lumiere I win over a 300 at a minumim every time. Here I lost money and so did everyone else.

Gave me wrong room tower so I had to walk around for 30 mins searching for a room. Workers are rude and not professional. Almost smacked the lady after she just came in my room.

The staff is incredibly nice, and lovely atmosphere. Plenty of slots to chose from.

Worst place ever! The valet parkers broke the automatic ignition switch on my car. I filed a report with security and they said someone would get back with me. It cost me over $200 to fix. I used to go there all the time when it was Harrah's and it was way better before. Unbelievable! Especially after losing $1, 000 that night.

Casino is great hotel not so much. The hotel rooms need some serious updating if they want to compete with other area casinos. I had to hunt for an outlet just to charge my cell phone. They do have nice new flat screens but the keyboards to access the internet or pay per view movies seldom work. And forget about room service, IF you can get anyone to answer they hardly understand English. Over all the room was relatively clean, dust on most lamps and fixtures but the bed linens were fresh at least.

First week of March 2014 I was invited to stay at Hollywood Hotel/Casino for 5 days and 4 nights. Valet parking was our fist stop where we were greeted almost immediately by the parking attendant then in seconds by the Porter. They were professional and extremely nice. 5 stars The room was also 5 stars with the highlights of pillow top mattress three pillows on each bed, super white down comforters and topper a oversized bath tub. We had a choice 5 places to eat. We did try three of them: "Eat it up Buffer" had a champagne brunch I would recommend to everyone a must try, if you get a chance. Also the "Celebrity Grill" was one of our stops. It was extremely busy the night we tried it we had a extremely long wait (40 minutes) on sandwich and fries, out of ice for the soda machine, and could of used employees out at the tables. But taste made up for the wait. I give them 2 stars Also we tried Club Aroma and it had the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to pastries and the quality of food was just a great. Great way to spend my comps. This was a stay to remember. The Casino was clean it is open smoking which was a minus but well ventilated so no points need to be taken off for this. Were from a Ohio which is a state you can't smoke in a public place so we were surprised and both non smokers. Found out you can't take your own coffee cup in. But, the provide a place you can leave it and pick up later.

I think the best way to describe my experience is to share my direct communication with Hollywood. Enjoy folks: I am having a serious customer service issue with your "booking" department. I had the unfortunate displeasure of speaking with a woman by the name "Meg" on March 17, 2014 at 9:34PM. First, let me tell you the back story. I booked a hotel room on January 11, 2014 with an older gentleman with a slight southern accent. This man was fantastic and was able to help me book a room for March 15th-16th. I soon realized after the phone call that I needed to change my booking to the 22nd-23rd weekend instead. I called back within 20 minutes of making this booking and spoke with the same gentleman who took care of my booking. I advised I needed to move the booking to the following weekend and he said he would take care of it for me. I called Hollywood Casino today, March 17th, just to make sure everything was set for this weekend since I have received little to no correspondence in regards to my bookings. "Meg" advised I only had one room booked and it was a double non-smoking room. I booked this room online within the last month when we found out we had more out-of-towners coming in for our event. I asked about the booking I made in January for the two room suite and she advised it was cancelled and not rescheduled.

SAturday November 2. My wife and I ate at the buffet at 7pm and it was awful. Alot of the food was not hot and had no flavor. At 26.00 per person we expected much better. My wife had a steak and it was so thin it looked like one you would serve for breakfast. Sure it's all you can eat but a thin steak hasn't the flavor or juices of a good steak. The couple sitting sitting next to us said the same thing. No wonder the place had no people in it at 7 o'clock on a saturday night. The nicest thing abiut it was our waitrest. A middle aged black lady who was great. I wish I would have gotten her name because she needs to be recomended. Half the time the cooks behind the food were hardly ever there. The deserts would have tasted much better if they were cold not warm. The ice cream was the best part of the whole buffet. Thats bad. Managemant needs to sneak in and sit down and try a meal. People just will not return. The little guy who keeps you in bussiness will go some place else to eat and play.
