General manager and staff are great. We have been staying here off and on since 2012 and always enjoy our stay.

We had a good stay overall. Rooms are of nice size & the beds are comfortable. Hotel was clean. My only complaint after we had been there for a few hours, the room had a very strong odor of “weed”. It went away after a while. The next morning, it was back. Reported it to the front desk at check out. The reply was “someone in the room above you must have been smoking it”. I believe they sent someone to check things out.

I was not able to make the trip and they charged my card full price, then denied they did it when my bank says they did. If you need to cancel, call them directly or it will be a no show and they charge you anyways. Now I have to wait to get my money back.

Great place nice and safe.

Nice quiet part of town. We had a uhaul trailer and were able to park it in the back with no issue. The rooms are pretty nice. With what's supposed to be a queen sized bed but seemed a little bit smaller. Has a little fridge and kitchen area too. I think it was only like 12 bucks to uber to the French Quarter also.

In a great location. It is a 20 min drive from the city but the police station is right there and service is good. We did however find a chicken nugget under the bed which means the staff isn't very careful when it comes to cleaning but other than that the room was clean and there isn't much to complain about.

Every time I come to New Orleans they make me feel at home and always have a room available when I arrive the service is great the staff is awesome so anytime anyone is in New Orleans please come and stay at the Federal City Inn and Suites.

When you look at the pics on the website it looks nothing like in real life! Honestly I think this is not worth your money. The area is kinda creepy tbh. Trying to save money? Just go somewhere nicer it will be worth it.

BEWARE! DO NOT LET THEM MAKE A SCANNED COPY OF YOUR DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD! They will do it if you let them and that’s a huge no no! You can say no! The attendant tried to make a copy of mine with my drivers license and I told her absolutely not! It was a nice stay and the room was nice otherwise! Housekeeping tried to come into rooms at 9am although checkout is at 12pm! I really believe they are out to steal, cheat and lie! They are thieves. I would prosecute them to the full extent and launch a full investigation if anyone of them attempts to use any of my information. Watch for these crooks and dishonest people!

The rooms include two beds (mine did), a shower and toilet separated from the sink, and a kitchen with 2 stove tops and a microwave. The rooms are always thoroughly cleaned right after you leave, and the room even includes a desk that can fit a full sized computer with all of its parts and more. Room feels very comfortable and never questioned about the cleanliness of the room since it always felt clean.

Just relocated to NOLA w/ the military. I thought proximity to base was a pro. But too many cons to even attempt to recommended this place. Dirty carpet, dingy sheets, foul door throughout building. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Reasonably clean quiet room for less than half the price of staying in the French Quarter. Easy access via Lyft or ferry to the sights. Free parking.

Quiet location big nice clean rooms with kitchen stove top microwave and mini fridge nice size clean bathroom love all the mirrors washers & driers work good and only 1.25. Silvia was very good help when I needed her I would recommend this place to anyone traveling alone with family or friends its a good spot not far from down town either!

Federal City Inn & Suites is your typical average hotel in Algiers across the river from French Quarter in New Orleans. My room was spacious clean with comfortable bed, and kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. The hotel is located in a quite area but the fridge in the room, and the AC were relatively noisy. They have free Wi-Fi but was practically not usable in my room with frequent interruptions and maximum speed if less than 1 MB when connected. This could have been because my room was at the end of the hallway. There is adequate free parking but there are no shops or restaurants in walking distance. The hotel is about 6-7 Miles drive from French Quarter but you can drive to Algiers Ferry Terminal about 3 Miles away park free on the street and take the ferry for $2 to the French Quarter. The trip last only 5 minutes and cost $2. You avoid hassle of traffic and save the high parking cost in French Quarter area. I would have given this hotel more stars was it not for the not usable Wi-Fi in my room, the relative noisy fridge, and AC, and the lack of shops or restaurants in walking distance.

Very nice and extremely comfortable place to stay. Staff was very kind and helpful. Rooms were Quiet, Comfortable and very Cozy. Will be back to stay again.

Great price and location. This hotel is dog-friendly which is a plus. The rooms are updated and clean. There is also a kitchenette area. It is a short ferry ride to the French Quarter. You can drive to the nearby port and park your car then take the ferry. Great quiet stay.

Very clean and affordable. The front desk person, Sylvia was so nice and helpful and deserves a promotion and raise asap! Best customer service ever from a 2-3 star hotel. The room was really clean and spacious also.

Please read this before booking this location 1st of all let me give credit where credit is due the manger Ms Silvia hospitality is out of this world. Unfortunately my stay at the federal city inn suites was a nightmare. Our room was broken into by one of the staff & a large amount of cash was stolen out our room. We Pacifically requested for no one to enter our room by using a Do not disturb sign. After a investigation was done it was determined that a staff member Had enter our room unauthorized on 3 separate occasions. Due to the fact the property has no camera the police said they could no make arrest. We wouldn’t be reimbursed by the property because they make you sign a waiver Without specifically indicating they aren’t responsible for your valuables. So as a warning if you stay at this property your gambling with your Privacy. Your putting yourself at risk to be robbed. & because of their lovely we are not responsible waiver you wouldn’t Be reimbursed. The information I just Provide is 100% factual.

Clean rooms, quiet area, bathroom too small but otherwise great value.

My wife and I were driving across the country in the summer 2016. We had already made a reservation at this place. We chose this hotel because it was not in the heart of the city. We had a U haul and a tow car so we didn't want our rig tampered with. In addition we desired reliable parking. We drove through the night from Tampa and we were very exhausted. Our check in was officially at noon but we asked to check in early just to see if there was anything open earlier. The older man at the desk told us there was nothing available so we went back out to our rig. I was skeptical that they were full, because the parking lot was close to empty. We laid our seats back in the car we were towing and we hung shirts on the windows to try to get sleep. The front desk guy was out in the back watching us the whole time smoking a cigarette. After a few hours of sweating in the tow car and trying to sleep, we went to the desk again and a lady had replaced the man from before. We were still early and we asked if there was anything available earlier than our official check in time. Her reply made us so angry… "We have tons of rooms available! I can't believe he told you there was nothing open! " The guy had watched us while we tried to sleep in our sweltering car and he was well aware that they had rooms available! The rooms here were great and the service cleaning staff was descent.

Driving thru states with my wife and staying in different hotels, this one as far deserves —-5 stars, absolutely being honest and asking people to not stay here you will not get a single night of sleep because fire alarm went two days in a row and so F loud and not just this prepare to not to sleep since next door is bunch of special individuals with like thousands kids staying up all night and you can’t do anything about because they’ll call you racist for being annoyed human who just want to F… ng SLEEP. Housekeeping was slamming door and making a lot of noise when cleaning at 7:30 in morning are you kidding me? Today she knock the f… ng door at 8:30 when I especially for this put out do not disturb sign, this just main reasons and just two nights people I swear not making any of this this my experience here and if you stay make sure get good ear plugs that’s what we had to do second night.

Everyone was so nice! The room was very clean with a kitchenette. It's a thirty minute walk to the ferry or a six dollar uber ride. The ferry costs 2 bucks and dumps you out at Harrahs casino. Then it's an easy walk to Bourbon St. There are practically no businesses around which is kind of a bummer but it was worth saving hundreds of dollars. The beds were comfy with a medium feel but the bathtub was really small. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again! Good bang for your buck type of hotel.

Room is decent and clean, except the kitchenette. Crusty food all over from previous guests, spilled drinks on the walls and floors, even after having the staff clean it again. Wifi is horrific. Do yourself a favor and stay at the courtyard 5 minutes down the street for the same rate.

Great stay. Not a long drive at all. Clean and comfortable.

Solid experience. Clean room with a kitchenette, good staff, and reasonable rates. A bit far from almost anything, but other than that we got what we expected.

Cover sheets were not clean and the pillows had a terrible smell. The coffee machine was not clean either and they did not wash it the second day. I ran out of tissues and they did not put more during my second day.

Our room was DIRTY, and when I mean dirty I mean there was literal dirt (brown substance) on one of the bed's comforters/sheets, someone's old washcloth was left in the shower, and there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The front desk was less than friendly at check in, and the location is far from ideal if trying to easily access the night life of the French Quarter/downtown. The price was very reasonable, but given the condition of our room I would not recommend.

It just like home, very roomy and convenient with a small kitchen with all utensils. Beds are comfortable. Be ready it's away from everything but parking lot is right outside and free.

Room was decent. Staff was friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Location made me feel safe because of the proximity to police station and military. It was difficult for Uber drivers to locate though.

Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Close enough to the French Quarter that you can walk (though you will need to cross the river via ferry) or take the bus. An affordable option for families wanting to visit New Orleans.

Great place to stay on any budget. It's on the old baby base that is currently a marine base. As you get up to start your day you can see the soldiers walking around. It's not far from the ferry to get to the heart of things. This hotel offers free parking but the ferry is $5 parking plus $4 round trip still a lot cheaper then parking at the hotels in the heart of the city. Ac works well and every room is equipt with a microwave mini fridge stovetop and some dishes. Beds are comfortable and staff is extremely friendly. Be sure to enjoy a peaceful night sleep before you take on your day long journey to the heart of New Orleans shops museums and eating.

We loved it there. We used Uber to go to the downtown sites. Saved us the hassle of paying the high parking lot prices. Great staff and we felt very safe and welcome. I loved the old naval base buildings. And the Maritime and naval Academy is there.

Federal City Inn & Suites delights my family and I because we feel like we're in our home away from home. The staff are always very friendly and helpful throughout our stay on each and every occasion when we occupy this location.

Rooms are large and so clean! Very comfy beds. Nice and quiet area but still close to downtown. Close to the ferry as well. This hotel is much better than most of those higher end hotels but have much cheaper prices.

Great place a stone throw from the military base in a funky, authentic, undiscovered New Orleans neighborhood. The ferry across the river to the French Quarter is convenient but the adventurous traveler may have as much fun staying on this side.

Located on an old Naval base. Helpful and friendly staff with good knowledge of the area and input to make your New Orleans stay enjoyable. A little bit of driving is required is all.

Nice clean room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen was equipped properly with the exception of a frying pan which was blackened and not usable. No pool but there is one across the street. Small playground for kids. Loved the staff and felt very safe here. Very comfy beds and loved the location.

Friendly staff and clean rooms. The location felt safe. The hotel is on an old military base. It is convenient if you plan to use the Algiers ferry. Probably would not stay here again if we decide to make another trip to NOLA. The location made it difficult to stay out late and experience the night life. We felt restricted by the ferry schedule, which left every half hour. The last ferry left at 9:45 pm, which forced us to head back early or resort to paying for a taxi. We wished we had stayed somewhere closer to the French quarter. It wasn't worth it to take the cheap route!

Great property recovered from old military housing just renovated affordable rooms equipped with kitchen private parking free and efficient and free Wi-Fi valid and not far from the Center as long as you came by car and well served.

Great value hotel. I was surprised by how large the room/ bathroom were. Full kitchen was available so we made breakfast and had coffee in the morning. $16-18 cab fare to french quarter. For the price we were more than satisfied.

We stayed in Algiers for the last two days of our trip to New Orleans at the Federal City Inn & Suites. Our room was great for us! Kitchenette with Two Queen beds (super comfy) and tons of room for all of our stuff! Plenty of amenities: free parking, laundry, DVD player, drinks, snacks, toiletries, fluffy towels, and ice! It was a 30 minute walk to the Ferry to the French Quarter or park ($10) at the landing and ride over or short drive up 90 to the CBD (15-20 depending on time of day. ) The staff was helpful and ready to take care of any needs! Overall it was a great value and we would use them again!

If all you're looking for is a clean room at a good price, this would be ok (ONLY for a low price). If you're looking to have any amount of fun in New Orleans DO NOT stay here. Not only is it tucked way back behind a shady neighborhood in a creepy abandoned military base (I would say def unsafe if you're a single lady) with absolutely nothing convenient; no restaurants, not even fast food and you're screwed because the West Bank is quarantined from the "real" NOLA. There's one bridge to get over the river into the city, and if traffic is backed up you're looking at 30-45 minutes each way to the French Quarter and any other cool neighborhood. Also, this hotel kinda pissed me off because there's no morning coffee (didn't expect breakfast at this price). I need my coffee in the morning… and see above, no restaurants to get it at. They'll tell you to make it in your room… but they have those nasty 4 pot coffee makers and mine was absolutely FILTHY. They DO NOT WASH THESE, mine had dried filth, year old moldy coffee grounds stuck on the dispenser, and a dries piece of toilet paper some previous guest from 3 years ago used as a filter. I had to wash it in the bathtub with scalding hot water and shampoo, took me 20 minutes for it to be sanitary, then I had to drive to a grocery store 15 minutes away for the coffee. Like I said, I need my coffee. Stay here if you just need to sleep, be on your way, and not enjoy New Orleans. And don't drink coffee.

Stayed over Labor Day weekend for 1 night, $100 for a double queen. Big rooms with nice beds and kitchen and fridge. The hotel is the old BOQ/BEQ that's been renovated. Unsafe area on the way there but it's safe at the location being on an old base. It's not on an actual base so feel free to bring a weapon. The hostess was very nice. However, the lady across the hall who brought 2 dogs was not. They were loud all night and she denied having them to the staff before being caught later. I worked with Silvia (Sylvia? ) and she was very keen on compensating us for the trouble with a discount. A job well done to her for not only being a good host but also making our issue her main priority and handling the rude guest with unclaimed dogs. I would return and recommend this hidden gem. $13 taxi ride to the French quarter too.

This might be one of the few secret gems of New Orleans. Simple (no pool or fitness center), but spacious and clean rooms with a kitchenette. The area is not the greatest (what part of New Orleans is? ), but the Navy Yard around the hotel is extremely clean and safe. Best part, it is a 5 minute drive from the Algiers Ferry, which for $2 will drop you right at the doorstep to the French Quarter. Last ferry back is 9:45PM, so that is set back. For us, traveling with family (4 years to 70 years old), it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sight seeing. And, for the price, you can't beat it.

God value, clean and just over the bridge from the craziness of the city. That's the worst part. If traffic is bad the bridge is a parkin lot. PS — 2 stories and no elevators.

Nice, nice service, the hotel location was not really good but actually pretty safe, behind navy. Only 80 dollars with tax for double king size beds which come with kitchen.

This is a very nice hotel. Sure, it's a little off the beaten path. Kitchenette, dishes, clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, free parking, a mile from the free ferry to Vieux Carré, and a very very friendly staff. If all you're looking for are resort-like lodging, this is not your place. If, however, you're into exploring, this location will not disappoint.
