What a difference 3 years makes. We have stayed at the Siegen Inn several times since it was built. It was always value priced, no frills, and a good place to stay. Upon arrival, there was a monstrosity of a wooden door over the glass door where the staff shouts at you through the glass. Folks hanging around in the parking lot, paper signs threatening eviction, and the smell of stale cigarette smoke. We were assigned our room. Upon arrival to the second floor, we were met with the aroma of marijuana and cigarette smoke. The door to the room next to our assigned cell was wide open and a man was swearing, at someone on the phone. We went downstairs and were granted a new location. Granted, this room was better. Our new digs had stains on the floors, no hot water, and cracked and peeling paint in the bathroom. The cherry on the sundae was the discovery of a pack of camel cigarettes in the bed, after we had rolled the covers down. We tried calling the front desk, no answer. Between the sheriff department visits we saw out of our window and the ambulance for they clearly agitated evictee, we decided to not stay here again. This is not a safe hotel to stay at. Not family friendly.

I stayed two nights and can we say eww ROACHES! They really need to spray for them. Check comments section for picture and video proof. If they would just spray this problem would be taken of and everything else was okay.

The check in process is abit off setting. I was thinking 'is it so unsafe here that all of this is necessary?! '. But actually my room was quite nice. Clean and comfy.

Walked into the room and left within 5 minutes after inspection and they refused to refund my $95 dollars. We were trying to evacuate with our kids from hurricane Zeta. Accused us of “using the room” because we pulled the sheets back to inspect after seeing pubic hairs and what Appears to be male bodily fluid.

I am from lake Charles, Louisiana and I am displaced from my home due to hurricane Laura. I booked 2 nights at Siegen Inn for me and my family. After the storm we went back to lake Charles to clean up our property as much as we could, as it started to get dark we decided it wouldn’t be safe to travel on the roads due to down power lines and broken trees on the roads. We called Siegen inn to let them know the situation and that we would not be able to check in on night one. The man was VERY understanding and said it wouldn’t be a problem to check in the next day and our room would be waiting for us when we got there. The next day we drove 2 and a half hours to Baton Rouge, boarded our dogs and arrived at the hotel to check in. We were told that we were considered a NO SHOW NO CALL and our room was no longer available and could not give us another room. Not only could they not give us a room but refused to give us a refund or even a partial refund! We are unable to stay in our home, we have a 3 year old, and I am 7 months pregnant. I am COMPLETELY disgusted by this establishment! Thankfully my husband spent our morning calling all around the area for us a place to sleep that night, while we sat in the target parking lot. We found a hotel in New Orleans, which is another hour away.

The room was fine but no breakfast as stated on website. Clerk argued with me that it wasn't on their website. Manager offered no apology.

You have to approach through an alleyway. The night clerk, Mary, was rude and confrontational. Rooms smelled stale. Beds hard, pillows terrible. Overall, I rate this place like I would a roadside motel 6, somewhat cost effective and generic. Would not stay again.

This budget based hotel was clean, I felt safe and the staff was friendly. I definitely got the service I paid for. The location is right off the interstate and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. There was a possum on the parking lot though… apparently he's a regular.

Plain, clean rooms. Comfortable beds, nice staff. Good location. Great rates.

Neat, cleat, friendly staff. I loved the rockers in the seating area. Pool was a bit small and complimentary breakfast was sparse. All in all it was a good hotel for a great price.

Good place to stay, very near lots of places to eat and shop. Clean and safe. Would like to see them have a better Drive way as it is hard to spot near the other businesses.

I have stayed here several times and the experience was good. This past weekend was horrible, the TV remote didn't work, only 3 pillows on king sized bed. The linen was not warm enough, I was next door to a room full of kids that had been obviously left unattended. Called the front desk and eventually had to go down in the middle of the night to complain, the staff was unconcerned and not helpful, stayed there 2 night no sleep, the breakfast sucked. This at one time was a nice place to stay but I will never grace those doors again.

Great service. Nice staff. Free breakfast. Unfortunately only 3 pillows for our room, 2 people, 1 bed. Still they made an effort to check which I definitely appreciate. Nice place just wish there were smoking rooms. So far so good. I dont know if theres any wiggle room on checkout time yet.

The Wi-Fi is slow, the online website said it had a hot tub which is false and they also had cigarette ashes in the pool. The TV only plays 1 channel and the staff won’t fix anything and they aren’t helpful. The doors don’t lock, there were no complimentaries. Every time you call the front desk they hang up in your face. The prices are outrageous, the ice machines don’t work and the vending machines has no snacks at all. The pillows are the size of couch pillows. They left a girls hair tie in the bathroom and tags from clothes were stuck on the bathroom door. The trash wasn’t taken out. They had no towels. They had hair in our breakfast. Also, stuff was left in the mini fridge. It was just an overall terrible experience and won’t be coming back.

Man who checked me in was very nice. He recognized that I was traveling alone and elderly but still placed me on the backside of motel where there was not much lighting. Didn't feel safe. Room was out dated and smelled of standing water. Bonus on a I — hop attached to motel.

Great place to stay. Great people here. Clean rooms plus nice bathrooms. Had a wonderful time. You should check it out.

I stay here multiple times a year due to work, and I have always had a great experience and service. The rooms are always excellent and clean, and its close to restaurants. Great location.

We stayed here after a doctor's visit in town. It was the best value and best rated lodging we could find last minute. It wasn't a super luxurious 5 star hotel but it served it's purpose well! hot showers, relatively comfy bed (8 months pregnant at the time so not many beds are more than relatively comfy), lots of pillows and a very cold air conditioning, which may not seem like that big of a deal… but for a pregnant woman in Louisiana summer it's very important!

Stayed here for 2 weeks in December 2017 for work. Nice place. Good rates. But they need to add breakfast in the morning. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.

Staff slack, poor customer service, do not listen to concerns of customers, seems to support low customer service from some of staff vs. Trying to accommodate reasonable asks of customers who pay for stay. Evening front desk only nice thing about visit, overnight shift sub par, PLEASE do not stay here! You can get better service at the dozens of similar-priced hotels in Baton Rouge.

Hotel in commercial area clean and classic with 2 major faults: no breakfast and non-existent soundproofing.

BEAUTIFUL hotel inside and out. They don't have breakfast but that didn't bother me there is an ihop right next door. The staff was very nice and helpful. I definitely would recommend someone to stay here.

Clean rooms, nice amenities (refrigerator, microwave, TV and coffee machine), near different food places, have a fitness center, comfortable bed to sleep for a good price.

The young lady at the deck is 5 star. The beds 1 star. The noise from the other people in their room and the noise from the floor 0 star. Parking lot & hotel secure 5 star. The entrance and exit slope will damage cars 0 star. The water pressure 1 star. Location 5 star. Hotel cleanliness 5 star. Pool is small 3 star. Is not $100 a night Hotel just my opinion.

Their driveway into parking lot needs to be fixed. Going up steep incline in small car equals scrapping. Also need an atm in hotel. A stocked vending machine and better Air conditioning. Other than that nice rooms and very friendly staff quite pleased.

Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, great location. Fridge and microwave in the room are very helpful. Bed was comfortable. Tons of places within walking distance to eat. Room was quiet and free of road noise.

Manager Brittany was a big help with completing my registration. She answered my questiobs when I called in and helped to modify my reservation when I left one day sooner than anticipated. She herself gains 5 stars from me. Hotel was clean and quiet. Location central to food and shopping.

Nice clean hotel. Everything worked in the room. About a half a block off the road and would not recommend if you were pulling a trailer but other than that UT was fine. Keep in mind that there is no breakfast offered.

The staff is so friendly and welcoming! The rooms were spotless as well. I have 2 kids who loved loved the pool and I loved working out at the gym! Highly recommend staying there.

We are passing through BR, LA and decided to stay at siegen inn based on their Google page. Once I paid for the room I was told there is no breakfast when their Google page states there is free breakfast. The content on that page is able to be changed by the property owner. The night clerk said there had been no breakfast for about a year now. That's plenty of time for that to be changed. Unacceptable. Onto the room, once in the room I found that our remote did not control the TV so to change the volume or turn the TV off I had to get up. That's rather annoying at the end of the night. The water pipes make it sounds as if there is a poltergeist in the hotel. It is so damn loud at 1 am. The phone had a flashing light that wouldn't stop so I unplugged it. There were three pillows all the size of throw pillows I'd see on a couch at my house… smallest pillows I've seen in a hotel. The good things: shower was nice and it was clean.

No continental breakfast, but they made up fit it with free coffee in the rooms and down stairs. Clean room and showers. Small pool over all is stay again.

We were on a quick visit to Baton Rouge, and just needed a room for the night. Price was right, location was right so we booked our stay on Priceline. And we got there The hotel appears new. Front desk help was very good very welcoming. The bed was one of the most comfortable that we found anywhere recently. This is not a high-end expensive hotel, so we weren't expecting a lot. They exceeded our expectations greatly. I asked at the front desk to borrow a USB charger, and the clerk loaned me one. All in all this is a good place.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Great price for a quick stop on our trip.

Worst customer service ever! Not sure how they even stay in business. I was hung up on and cursed at numerous times. The manager has a piss poor attitude. How the 2 people I dealt with have a job in customer service is beyond me. Good luck to whoever books w this hotel.

Our first family vacation and stay was at the Siegen inn hotel. The first look the place was very clean and great location. Our first night was great. Clean room, not smelly we thought we made a good choice. The first disappointment was that on their site, we were under the impression that they had a complimentary breakfast, later to find out at the front desk they do not serve frozen breakfast items, that their customers deserve the best experience and to order or dine in at the very close and convenient fast food places in the area. Our second night returning in we came into our room, which we place the door sign on the knob to be cleaned by maid service, was not. The very kind lady at the front desk was very kind, (Not to be mistaken for the manager Tina) she gave us clean towels and apologized for our inconvenience. The third night returning our room was picked up but reused our bed sheets and pillow sheets to lay in, the same night in late around 3-4 am a bundle of baby cockroaches were found collected in the bathroom, I killed one and left it for dead in the bathroom. That morning my husband complained and asked for a refund and that we were not returning, to the so called "manager" Tina. This lady acted as if we he was lying to her face and proceeding to refund the 2 more nights we were suppose to stay, This "manager" not only has no customer experience, she is very rude, and talks down to people.

My boyfriend and I booked a room after 2:00 am May 3 after a night on the town and was pleased with the service of the night shift receptionist and the overall look of the Siegen Inn. However, come the next morning, the positive outlook we had was completely gone. We were confused about when the checkout time was and thought it was noon, when in fact it was 11 am. At 11:30, the morning receptionist reacted to our honest mistake with an EXTREMELY uncalled for attitude. She banged on the door, treated us as if we were complete imbeciles and once we hastily went to check out she informed us she put us on the "Do Not Rent" list simply because she had to walk upstairs. My boyfriend handled the situation with civility and a "kill 'em with kindness" attitude. She was absolutely awful and should be removed from that position as she had no knowledge of customer service or understanding. After all, it was an honest mistake which we took responsibility for but the act of placing us on the Do Not Rent list is completely uncalled for and ludicrous. Not to mention, she acted as though she did not have a phone to call us on to make sure we were checking out and placed the responsibility of letting us known when check out was on the housekeepers, rather than herself. Her character was awful, lazy, rude, petty and deserves a demotion.

Upon check in the hotel was well situated, and the gal at the front desk was very friendly. Room was decent, clean enough (no mind the toenail I found in the bathroom), and comfortable. There were only 2 towels in the room, which I am sure was just an oversight. Fast forward to "breakfast" the next morning. There was bread, 1/2 cup sized bowls for cereal, coffee, and room temp orange juice and yogurt. So, we ate items we already had in our room. And. When we attempted to connect to Wi-Fi, we would connect for about 30 seconds and then have to re-enter all info to login, might as well have had no Wi-Fi. We stayed one night. That was enough. We could hear entire conversations from the people in the next room and could hear every step the people upstairs took. Checkout went smoothly. My husband went to use the vending machine, it wouldn't take bills, so he went to make change. He simply let the "manager" know it wasn't taking bills, and she replied, they don't own them, there was nothing she could do about it. (Rather than, okay thanks for telling me, or I'll let the machine owners know). We should have known from that statement that the following was going to be a headache! I left an item in my room. I called after realizing it was left and asked for a small part of it be mailed back to me. I called 3 times before anyone even answered. When I did get an answer I waited 6-7 hours before calling back to see if they had the item they were previously "checking on".

The owner of this hotel should sell and everyone should boycott him imigrants come in to this country and dont feel like then need to follow are laws but u love the money ur making off of the american people u r greedy go back home stay out of our country who do u think u r.

So, the SEIGEN INN deems their rules regarding Service Dogs to be MORE important than the Americans with Disabilities Act Law of 1990. Especially in reference to the addendum of 2010. At first, I wanted to say, "No way I would visit there! ", but then I got a brain storm. From now on, Disabled Veterans, most importantly those with Service Dogs such as myself, will begin flooding the reservations AND arriving WITH our SDs. Medical Service Dogs are forbidden at your establishment because the owner doesn't like them? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

I had a clean room and bathroom and the hotel staff is very friendly, however the breakfast was below standard for a Best Western.

When we came down we arrived late went to several hotels in the area they were very dirty and looked like crack houses. By the time we made it here we didn't know what to expect but we were greeted by a young lady by the name of Tina didn't get her last name but she went out of her way to make sure that we felt right at home. When we left out for that next morning for our meeting when we came back our room was cleaned. Then when she returned back to work that following night she checked on us to make sure we were still comfortable A-1 service.

Wife booked 3 rooms, everyone checked in with their own credit card They double charged our room and will not pay this back Personell will lie to you Owner will not respond Will not stay at this particular hotel again.
