Perfect. Helpful front desk, lovely bar, great bar service.

My stay here was INSANE. Parking was closed and BLOCKED OFF and I had to park across the street and pay to park. Then I find out my convention has been moved to another building on another block and I have to take a maze to get there including going up 2 floors, crossing a crosswalk over the street, then down a floor, across the building, down 3 more floors, and in a basement with only one bathroom for everyone there! This was supposed to be an ADA accessible event! Not only that but they shorted us on the food that was being served and several of us didn't eat, AT ALL, and they refused to make it right by sending more food. After that experience, I feel I do deserve a refund. Short story: Don't book an event here! UPDATE: They never contacted me to apologize or rectify any of it.

Until they make changes to the front desk staff, I will never be back. A friend of mine met me there, she reserved the room. All was in her name. All she did was put my name in the comments so I could check in since I arrived before she did. But for some reason, the front desk charged me, and said they had no record of charging her. When she checked in, she had to give her card, she also upgraded our room, but for some reason, I was still charged, and the front desk has no record of her. But again… she checked in and upgraded our room so they have to have something. Also, the Bonvoy app shows her card as the primary for this reservation, but still, they charged me. This was sent to the hotel and still, I can't get refunded. This is terrible service. Do better. I shouldn't have to do all this running around to get this corrected. This was Marriotts error!

I stayed there many times over 23 years and despite being a Platinum member never got an upgrade room. The staff were wonderful but didn’t make up for the lack of loyalty to a good customer with 2, 500 Marriott nights.

The staff was so incredibly nice and doing the best they can with staff shortage, but everyone still smiles! Helena is an incredible bartender, very attentive and not only super friendly but gave the best restaurant and pub recommendations! Strange year for all and hope it gets better. But have to thank everyone for all they did!

When you get locked out of your room they won’t let you back in. My ID is in the room so I can’t show them my ID. It also took them 20 min to get a security guard to walk me up to my room. What a joke.

The service was exceptional. Went to breakfast at 0600 and they went out of their way to accommodate me!

It’s such a beautiful hotel that my girlfriends and I decided to take a couple of pictures when a lady came up and said she was the manager, but had no card or identification. Told us that taking photos in their hotel is not allowed and that we would have to leave. Although I’ve stayed here before and taken pictures and I’ve seen wedding parties take pictures. I believe at this moment that it was because I was with three women of color. The manager made it quite obvious!

We used the KC marriott for our guest room block for our wedding as well as had a suite for my wedding party to get ready in. They were amazing! Even during the pandemic we always felt safe, clean and yet still pampered! They added little touches throughout our stay and not to mention their views. Nothing like looking out over downtown while getting ready for your big day! Thank you!

Spotless hotel! I couldn't have been more impressed. Everything was immaculate and fresh — from the coffee shop, to the elevator to my room. Very helpful front desk & valet too.

We attended a wedding here recently and everything was fantastic… food, staff, hotel accommodations. No complaints at all!

I was so lucky to be able to get married at the Downtown Kansas City Marriott this past weekend. I could not have felt more spoiled. Their suites are FANTASTIC. My husband and I have received 40+ compliments from guests about how incredible the space was, the food was, and the service was. The hotel was so amazing we didn’t want to leave. We will be back for another staycation soon!

We were one of the many KC chiefs fans to stay and celebrate the Chiefs at the parade. I can’t explain how great our experience was staying here. They handled the huge crowd with ease and the staff was absolutely amazing! Great job everyone and a special thanks to a guy named Keith that helped us check in and take us to our room!

We have been coming here for the last three years for New Years. It’s affordable, clean, centrally located and has the nicest staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely food and facility. Attended an event there and it was well organized.

Stayed here last Saturday. Room was nice and check in easy. We got to bed a little after midnight only to be woken right after six am with a phone call about them trying to deliver our room service, but we didn’t order room service, they called the wrong room. We couldn’t get back to sleep so we got up and swam for a while. Back in the room before 10 am I was putting on clothes and my husband was in the shower with the bathroom door open and a housekeeper just walked into our room! She mumbled “I’m sorry” and left. I reported both at check out and all that was said was “They must have started early today. ” Spent the rest of the day exhausted from only getting 5ish hours of sleep. Not what we had hoped from a restful getaway…

Valet service was outstanding. Check in was super busy and had only two employees (one who was training), so it was longer than usual, but the woman who helped is was thorough (kinda creepily so). The lobby is gorgeous. We've stayed here once before, and I'm always taken by how nice it looks. The walk to our room was quite long and little confusing, but the room itself was clean and sharp. Loved our high floor view and window (and that the window opened! ). Very quiet, and that was much appreciated. I don't love that the showers don't have a ledge to put your feet on though. Grateful for the shuttle! After the Alice in Chains concert, we were exhausted, and getting to text for the shuttle was a relief. My biggest complaint was BarCentral. We sat at a table and were never helped. We moved to another table, and George (who was wonderful) helped us. The food was decent, but the servers were clearly overwhelmed. At one point, five Marriott employees (not servers, but they all were dressed professionally and had name labels) were standing around talking while no one was helping us. I wasn't impressed with their lack of interest in what was going on around them, but once George noticed us, it was all good. Except for the fruit flies. But they seem to be everywhere now. Overall, I'd stay again. It's such a good, convenient location. My complaints are relatively minor.

Great hotel and I used it for an event. Staff were attentive and on point, meeting here was easy and will definitely consider again when I come back to the area. Location is also great, a few blocks from the Power and light district gives plenty of options for good and drink off property.

Lousy service and caring staff. Room had no heat the first night and I was told by the night engineer I wasn't allowed any due to them being in the summer. The real answer was remove a panel and flip a switch but that wasn't done until I froze through the first night and the day engineer fixed it in the morning. The next two nights I had my own personal white noise maker due to a leaking window at the top and the water falling 9-10 feet to the sill at the base of the window — the engineering solution to which was apparently throw a towel on the floor. The front desk would never allow me to speak to a manager, always claiming they were busy and one would call me later. They never did. So three completely lousy nights of sleep and a hotel staff that either didn't care or was totally incompetent. I kept hoping it would get better and that someone in a position of authority would give some indication of caring and fix the problems or move me to a new room. Nothing got better and the only thing the hotel cared about was my money at checkout. Plenty of hotels down the street. Go stay there. I would have changed hotels if I wasn't attending a conference that was in the hotel. Even reached out to the Marriott rewards program and their answer was the hotel has been notified and someone will contact you. Yeah… right…

Only at the Downtown Marriott for one evening, but still a pleasant experience. Very modern decor in the rooms, and great views off the city from the 15th floor. Only cons would be the bathroom seemed a little small and sparse, maybe just something annoy the lighting or the way it was decorated. Also, after arriving very late, I was told my reservation had been cancelled, but they quickly found me a room.

Great hotel and location! We had 2 rooms in the newly renovated tower across the street. The rooms were beautiful and nicely appointed. The mini fridge was such a pleasant surprise! The hotel was able to accommodate connecting rooms and we were so grateful. The 22nd floor pool was great! I would definitely stay again!

More to come, but this is a review of my experience with manager Walter. I completed mobile check-in the day prior to arrival. My confirmation read very clearly “1 King. ” When I arrived to my room, it contained 2 double beds. When I called the inaptly named “At Your Service” like, Walter repeatedly explained to me how hotel reservations work despite me very clearly stating that my check-in confirmation had been just that: a confirmation — not a request or a suggestion. My… room type had been changed without my knowledge. As a business traveler who micromanages my own travel reservations on a near-weekly basis, I don’t appreciate this kind of “service, ” and certainly not from a condescending manager at 12:30 in the morning, no matter how bad his day might have been. He was unwilling to work toward finding a solution after his staff clearly had done me a disservice. Addendum: This morning I received a message on my phone that a king room was available for transfer. All staff today were exceedingly nice and the room is actually on an upgraded floor. I have increased my overall opinion to 3 stars from one star for the appropriate action taken a day later.

I had a professional breakfast event to attend in the ballroom and it was a great experience. There were about 50 eight person tables with enough space to walk between and more open space at the back of the room (probably could have had another 5 or more tables, if needed). The service was fantastic for the food, the acoustics were great — I could hear both the people at my table and speakers in turn, with no issues.

Nice hotel. Convenient to the power and light district, the sprint center, and most of downtown. The facilities are above average save the pool which in 10 years has never seemed to be open. Basic workout and business facilities. Wifi is poor and convoluted to sign up for. Atleast they finally made it free. Basic rooms that seem to be in the process of renovation. Coffee pot, mini fridge and safe seem standard now.

I am wondering why there is a 5 dollar charge for room service if you are not in the main tower? I was actually told on the phone that if I walked over to the main tower, I would not be charged the fee, so is that still room service? I didn't request the other tower, so I am wondering why the charge? Also, the main check in desk or heck, even the restaurant in which you had to pick up your room service from, should have enough change to break a large bill, at any time. I u…nderstand if it is a Sunday night, but a Thursday night? If a front desk clerk has to step away, please be sure that a person who can make room keys could watch the desk. I walked over to the Main Building to ask for a room key, and was told, "Just so you know, that desk is now fully staffed. " I almost turned around and walked away. On my departure date, I called the front desk at 6:45 to ask for help with luggage. The person who answered said, "You want help with luggage, now? " I, feeling silly for asking, stated that I would just like a luggage cart. 5 minutes later, I hear a banging on the door, and open the door to find the luggage cart, and hear a person running away. I feel like I got "ding-dong ditched. " After loading my luggage on the cart, I went downstairs to check out and asked if I could store my cart behind the front desk while I ate in the hotel restaurant. The front desk clerk said that the restaurant had a luggage holding area, but I reminded her I had a cart.

We had a extremely poor experience for many reasons. Spent over $600 for two rooms for one night and no free breakfast. Hallways were hot and humid as well as both rooms. Once in the room we turned down the A. C to 60° We got ready & went out. We returned around 3 a. M the room was still hot & humid. We called front desk asked for 2 fan told them about the problem with A. C. It took them almost a hour to bring them up. Once in bed the sheets felt damp because of the humidity was so high in the room. Carpet was sticky as well. The AC leak in the closet on the floor where our bags were most of our stuff got wet. Found mold in the corner of the shower. Bottom the tub was disgusting, look to be leftover glue from a bath mat that had been removed. Extremely overpriced for the quality of room. Excellent location beautiful views for my room was the only good experience.

Love the hotel but there is not much to do around. This is my first time visiting Kansas City, MO. Although, I found the hotel to be nice and cozy the location does not give you anything. Not too much exploring to do unless you walk two blocks and then you are going to start seeing restaurant, pubs and cafeterias. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice.

Great hotel and we had a wonderful stay. Our rooms were nice and the staff seemed very helpful. The only downside was there was a big metal street cover on a portion of the road below us that would make a very loud noise every time someone drove over it. Not the hotel's fault and didn't affect our sleeping so it wasn't a big deal.

They weren't very accommodating to us and we were there for a conference, we wanted to go 7 minutes away to a restaurant and they stated the shuttle couldn't take us there and they if we wanted a taxi only four people could ride in a taxi but we could call a uber very strange since there was 5 of us so we had to split up to go anywhere. As well as the water dispenser in the lobby was dirty and even when it had water in it, the fruit was also dirty you could see the dirt on the hull of the fruit. I felt they could have been more helpful just because we arrived in your city from at least 7 different states, I would not suggest we use the Marriott as one of our hotels in the future for any of our conferences.

I really like this place. It's beautiful and clean and safe. I wish the mini fridge worked better, but other than that I'm really enjoying my stay.

Well done rooms. Beds were a bit soft. AC took a little while to catch up. Shower took a little work to figure out. But overall, it was a very fun stay and a great location.

My first visit was amazing. Warm welcome from the staff. Everyone is affable with smiling faces. Clean room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. It also has a restaurant and a wine bar. Five stars for amazing service and making my experience memorable. You guys made me a returning customer. Thank you!

Nice hotel, great room. Missing some of the things I've had good experiences with other hotels at. Water in room is $5, sink was slow to drain, free internet is painfully slow. Room itself was very comfortable, place to sit and eat and watch TV on the new flat screens. Responsive temperature control and very easy to access parking.

The service was incredible! The workers were so nice and helpful. The place itself is absolutely gorgeous. It is definitely a high-end hotel with many things to offer. The bars have many options for all kinds of drinkers, and the drinks are good. The only bad part of the area is the parking, which is confusing and hard to find in relationship to the hotel. If you want to go here, you absolutely have to look up the location of the parking lot first. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Beautiful hotel. Nice bar and lounge area. But the experience at the restaurant wasn't what I expected. It wasn't busy but it took quite a while for our food to get done. My pork tenderloin was chewy and dry and the mashed potatoes were bland. Service was excellent however.

Hotel commons, halls and bar area were neat and tidy. Staff was smiling, pleasant and willing to assist you. Check in and out was super fast on the app, just needed to stop long enough to pick up the room keys. Proximity was close to everything. Easily reached by foot or vehicle.

Rooms were nice, bed was comfortable, the bar was the best. They had a variety of beers to choose from and put up with all of us (attending a convention) staying at the bar until close, and then hanging out in the lounge well into the night. Great staff, loved the shuttle although I wish it went a bit further.

Our experience at this property was nothing but 5 stars. Upon reception, we were greeted and the front desk staff was friendly. The lobby was beautiful and inviting. The room we had far surpassed my expectations. We will return!

This is a beautiful, historic building with old elevators, marble floors, and labyrinth stairways. It also has easy access to nearly everything downtown, there are plenty of restaurants and bars, plus the convention center. If you're looking for a place downtown, I'd recommend starting here.

Staff was lovely. Food was really good. Really great gym. Rooms are fine, clean. Only there for one night so didn't spend time exploring the area. Would happily stay there again.

Very good experience at this hotel.

We stayed for the weekend for our visit at Comicon, and loved the hotel. I've stayed here before and the rooms are always clean, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant was short-staffed, so the wait was long, and my food came out wrong, but the manager was our waiter and was so awesome, I would go back just for him. I'm not a huge fan of their new elevator system; it seemed to create a traffic jam. We ended up taking the stairs to the second floor instead of waiting. I would love to stay here again.

Really great service and amenities. Central location is super helpful and saves lots of headaches, especially if your plans are taking you to the convention center. Rooms were very clean, and everyone was incredibly helpful. Coffee in the lobby is insanely expensive and pretty mediocre, though; I'd recommend hitting one of the great little shops around the hotel for your morning pick-me-up instead. Kaldi's and Made in KC are great.

I was only going to say something like "this was an awesome room for the price". I was in a convention block, so it was already a good price. The hotel I looked at nearby was some $50 more. I paid cash up front (to control my spending at the convention). Then I got a phone call as I was getting ready for bed. A family emergency. I went to the desk in the morning to tell them my situation. I wasn't expecting much of a response. I was wrong. Everyone I spoke to was incredible. "I'm so sorry to hear that" "Of course you can check out with a refund for the unused night" "Go to your convention as long as you like" "We'll set you up for late checkout if you like" I didn't stay long at the convention that day, but when I got back to my room to gather my things, there was a sympathy card and box of chocolates on my luggage. Stunned Amazed Do they really have a stash of greeting cards behind the desk? Marriott has gained a loyal customer. I wish I could have finished my stay, but family comes first. I will definitely recommend Marriott Downtown to anyone. Here's hoping I can come back soon. Thank you for caring enough to read through all this.

Right in the heart of everything. Close enough to Power and Light and anything else you might want to see downtown. Rooms were clean and whole hotel was nice! Cannot say one bad thing about it other than the parking garage maybe but really was not that bad.

I did not stay the night, but I stopped by to greet some of my friends. We had dinner and drinks. The staff was very friendly and the entire lobby was very big with a nice waterfall wall. The food was delicious and my friends told me the drinks were good too. I would definitely come back for dinner and probably to stay the night if I need to.

Front desk and check in was terrible. Booked 4 rooms for our coaches. All of use checked in at different times. My check in only took long because there were a lot of people there. That is understandable. Made sure that the other three rooms were charged to my card so that when they checked in Mt here would be no problems. Two of my other coaches checked in and had a thought time checking in. Then on top of that one coach got his key to his room and ended up getting keys to a room that was already occupied. I had to get up at 130am and deal with the front desk and the managers for over an hour to figure thins out. On top of that I did not get a "I'm sorry" or "can I comp you somehow" I'm a Marriott platinum, so I've probably spent timein over 100 Marriott and this was not a good showing by the staff. Other than that the rooms were nice.

Stayed here for an interview and was satisfied by the clean room and the comfortable bed. The only complaint that I have is the lack of outlets in the room. The outlets on the lamp on the desk didn't work too well in charging my devices so I had to unplug the coffee maker just to get a outlet that works. Also there are no bedside outlets so I couldn't have my phone next to me for it's alarm. Other than that I had no problems and breakfast they have is fantastic!

Overall nice hotel. There were a few things that were very bothersome. The hotel was extremely warm and we couldn't cool down the room no matter what we tried. The business center only had one computer that reset a few times and even worse cost 13 dollars to print out 3 pages from my email. For the money spent the hotel business center should be free. Calling the front desk was never answered any of the times I called from my room.

Given that this is a Marriott, I expected a little more. Room service was late every day. Rooms are a little outdated and could use some attention to detail. Paint is peeling on the bathroom door and wall sconces in the bathroom are rusted. Closet doors off track with a limited number of hangers. Had to request extra items of limited things such as coffee, toilet paper, and soap. Went to the Chiefs game and returned at 4:20 pm to find the rooms were still not cleaned. Outside of the condition of the rooms, the staff was very helpful and quite attentive. Great location near shops and restaurants.

Excellent service, very good accomodation.

This is a very nice, clean downtown hotel. The staff is super friendly — always saying hello. I enjoyed a great cocktail and sandwich in the bar. If you like barbecue and potatoes, try the tasty tater tots and burnt ends. The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant was also enjoyable and at a reasonable price. The hotel is walking distance to the Power and Light entertainment district. Water and coffee was also available in the skywalk, which was a plus. They should add a towel rack for hand towels in the bathroom and lamps with outlets by the bed.

The location was perfect to attend the social event that took part in Battle Hall. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very helpful.

I was in KC for a work conference and the hotel is right across the street from the convention center. Room was clean and comfortable, though the only outlet near the bed was just below the center of the headboard. The rooms for also use a higher quality television as well as a fridge and microwave. The lobby bar has good food and is a great place for ad hoc meetings during the conference.

I stayed here for 3 nights while I attended an event at the conference center. Great location. Easy access to lots of food options, the Power & Light District and practically across the street from the conference center. Don't feel attendance were friendly and helpful. Super great service even with hundreds of people checking in at the same time. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. I loved the bed and the shower had amazing water pressure and heat. Housekeeping was awesome as well. The only down side were the elevators. Weird system where you had to select the floor before you got on the elevator. Supposedly it was efficient, but several times we waited 5+ minutes for the elevator.

Walking in the hotel is beautiful. The ornate set up of all the decor is fabulous. The rooms have great amenities and the room service is kind, taking care of you personally.

This is a great hotel at a wonderful location. The Muehlbach tower is especially nice with an art deco look and feel. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff is excellent. The restaurant has good food options that are fresh and local. I had the goat cheese turkey burger and it was delicious.

Good location. Close to stuff. Comfortable rooms. Only complaint is that the curtains don't close all the way so you cant get the room very dark.

Apparently this hotel allows random outside vendors to enter your room late at night and leave their advertisement material. My husband and I left for dinner and when we returned, we found one advertisement slipped under the door (completely acceptable), and one advertisement on our bed (NOT acceptable)! Hotel management said because we didn't place the "do not disturb" sign on our door, they are allowed to enter our room and place ads. Had I known our room was going to be entered late at night for advertising dog formula? I would have hung the sign out, and put away my purse. I'm ok with the hotel coming in for an issue, but to leave ad material? Why is slipping it under the door, like one was, not enough? You seriously have to be kidding! Does Marriott need money that bad, they have to sell out customer privacy? Shame on you Marriott for allowing this, it has cost you a customer for life! Management at this place could care less, very sad.

My family and my self came to stay here over the weekend. The front desk personal has a bad attitude. We had a friend from the main office book us a room and it was at a better rate. We had all the paper work that we needed to stay here with that rate but the email had a # missing. Besides the fact this problem could have been resolved with a simple call of email. Both front desk manager and personal became very disrespectful and short with us. They could have helped resolve the problem but they just treated us like we were going to be paying with food stamp. I asked if we could get our room and pay regular rate until problem was resolved and they said that we couldn't get a room until we did. Made no sense, I was tired and traveling with my mother in law who is 75 and kids so all we wanted was a room to get some rest. We ended up at another hotel down the street … I would not recommend this place the manager was a young man who looked down on you like he owned the place.

The staff was fabulous… every last one I connected with! The location to the convention center was ideal (although it is not the only convenient option). The fruit-infused water in the lobby was a favorite part of my day. My room was clean. The reason I didn't give a 5-star was because of the serious lack of electrical outlets. There was one (4-prong outlet behind the mattress of my king size bed, with one plug-in empty) but I had to really dig for it, and there was another 4-prong below the desk, with on open plug-in. Luckily, I had an outlet extender with me so we could plug in two phones, and the switch out the iron, laptop, and coffee maker. Additionally, the bottom plug in the bathroom would not keep anything plugged in, no matter how wide I tried to spread the prongs. Overall it was a good stay but in this day and age of electronics, adequate electrical outlets (and access to them) are required, so I gave a 4-star.

What a great place! Close to the action whether its walking or taking a short drive to the plaza. Very friendly staff. They are remodeling and the new rooms are gorgeous! Beds are comfy and clean. The view from the pool is amazing at night. The pool was clean and on the 22nd floor. We had a great time and would come back anytime!

Staying at this hotel was a great experience, we stayed one night without a room booked ahead, the location was great and we had a beautiful view from our room on the eleventh floor. The rooms were very clean and spacious. My only complaint would be that our room did not have any kind of body wash or hand soap in the bathroom.

The staff is great and the workout room is actually huge for hotels. For conventions, the elevators actually run on a schedule of sorts. People are routed to a specific elevator after punching in their floor. There is a concierge lounge as well as a full restaurant in the building. Parking was around $20 a day for guests but the city lot across the street charges $12. The rooms are a little dated but there are flat screen tvs and refrigerators. No microwaves, but there is a communal one in the lobby.

One of the best you can stay in KC downtown area. Great location as it is close to the power and light district and room are mostly updated. If you are gold or above they have a really spacious exec lounge that features some very good food.

The location and lobby were very nice. The staff was great, and the hotel has a very The rooms were dated for the price, and it was impossible to find a plug in. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. We also had an awful time at the restaurant. The service was poor and the food was awful.

I had an issue with the comfort Inn suites, we booked our stay 6 months in advance and weren't notified that the pool was down for maintenance. They refused to refund our money even before we had stayed the first night. We called the Marriott in downtown Kansas City and explained our situation, they were more than happy to accommodate us and let us swim in their pool. They made us our own pool key card and a parking pass. I will only book Marriott hotels from now on.

Beautiful history, great drinks, superb staff. I would suggest this to anyone passing through Kansas City, or for any special event. Hannah is wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and places to explore in KC.

The Marriott is a nice hotel, but feel as if the rooms aren't worth the prices. I feel like some rooms need an update. I also don't understand why we still need to pay for Wi-Fi and parking. Guest services was nice when asking directions and also when checking in.

I never stay in expensive hotels. However, my daughter is part of SWACDA 2016, and it is hosted here. The hotel is beautiful and staff very nice and professional. My only complaint is the lack of outlets at the nightstand (they are hidden behind one of the beds) and the food prices (I spent more on breakfast than I typically do for a nice steak dinner back home).

I am a Government employee. I was staying at the Marriott for a seminar for four nights. When I called to book the room, I was told the hotel rate was $140 per day, including tax (I wrote the amount and confirmation number down during the call). The seminar group was receiving a, "discount, " for reserving rooms. During my stay, my company credit card was charged $901, which was WAY more than the agreed rate, and I hadn't even checked out yet. I went to the front desk and spoke with the woman working at the counter. She informed me the extra charges on my card were for tax, and incidental fees. She then proceeded to inform me the incidental fees (which were never explained to me initially) would be returned up on checkout. This brought the room charge to $175+, still MORE than what I was originally told, and had agreed upon (and wrote down). I asked if they could lower the rate to what I was originally told; the woman told me no. I then asked to speak to a manager. The manger also informed me that there was nothing he could do to help me. I am very angry at the lack of concern the manager had for my situation. This reflected poorly on me at my job. If my employer was less understanding, I could have been reprimanded. Additionally, I found this hotel to be OVERPRICED, even had I received my original rate. The room, and other portions of the hotel were outdated. There wasn't continental breakfast. The pool was small, and also outdated.

It is a very nice and very nice place.

Simply amazing! The hotel is unique in the fact that they have two different towers, each one offering a different feel. Great location, next to the convention center and the power and light district. The staff makes this hotel. The front desk is very personable and helpful.

Good overall experience. The one complaint I have is: the elevator is pretty dubm. When trying to go down to the first floor from the 15th, where my room is, it took incredibly too many stops. Every floor it would stop on. The idea of those touchscreen panels is nice, but if they are gonna cause just as much conjestion as every other elevator system, then it was a waste of money for y'all. There should be some kind of intelligence built in. After x number of stops on the way down, it should cease to stop at additional floors. This would allow it to get a full load without stopping at too many floors.

My experience was very good. The hotel was very nice and everyone was very courteous and respectful. My room was clean and modern. I would definitely choose the Downtown Marriot again if I was staying in Kansas City.

Great hotel. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are nice and large. Good selections of foods in their "canteen". Great customer service. And a great fitness room with lots of exercise equipment and a pool.

I had my first stay at this hotel the week of the Royals won the championship. My stay was from Sunday to Thursday. I very much enjoyed my entire stay. The hotel is gorgeous, the food is superb, and the staff is excellent. Though the hotel offers a more "grown up and professional atmosphere" it was a great stay for our toddler too who LOVED LOVED LOVED the floor to ceiling windows and the great view that we had from it. The spectacular fountains inside and outside the hotel, and the DELICIOUS oatmeal cookies at the coffee shop were among his favorite things. He loved the view from the rooftop pool of the hotel as well. All around I think I have found my new favorite hotel to stay in as a family every time we travel to Kansas City. I just cannot find enough words to describe how much this hotel stay was exactly what I needed!

Room is. Ok for the money. Slightly limited cable channels. Very average bathroom. The catered food for hosted events is often pretty bad. A very average experience for an above average price. Excellent staff though.

1st time visiting KC's Power and Light District down town, and I'll never stay anywhere else when we come back! Location, friendliness of staff, along w/ EXCELLENT customer service are just a few reasons I won't consider staying anywhere else when we visit again. We were eager to explore KC so we arrived 3 hours before check in, and the staff didn't flinch on finding ways to accommodate us… We stayed in their Hospitality Suite, and were amazed at the size and comfort of it… Pricing was competitive as well!

Hotel has potential, but most of the staff needs to be trained on proper customer service. I encountered a few very friendly and helpful employees but most of the FD staff seemed to hate their job and needed training on how to deal with customer complaints. Upon arrival, I found hair all over the sheets and there was no soap in the bathroom. Clearly the housekeeper did not change the sheets and it made my first impression of the place very negative. After I called the Front Desk I was told that I am their biggest critic since I am also a hotel employee. I was extremely disappointed that I had to walk all the way down to the FD to get new keys for a new room after such a long drive in (it's a huge hotel and I did figured they could at least bring up the keys to my room). I was not offered any sort of apology from the front desk agent. For the rest of the trip I questioned the cleanliness of the hotel room. Overall we had a fun time since the hotel is in a nice area, however I was not impressed with the staff nor the cleanliness of the rooms. (And for the price they are definitely not worth it) … Personally I would recommend staying at the hyatt or the embassy suites by the airport, they offer free breakfast and their rooms are much larger, also cheaper!

The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is a decent hotel for its class. The location is good as it is close to the convention center, P&L District, and many of the central office buildings downtown. It's a bit pricey for what you get, but considering the other options downtown, it's not bad. Parking is also quite a bit more expensive than some of the other downtown options. The lobby/cafe area is nice, but nothing beyond what you would expect from the Marriott. The rooms were nice overall, but lacked some of the features I usually expect from a hotel (refrigerator). Early in the week, there was a serious problem with the water pressure in my shower, but maintenance was able to repair it relatively quickly. If need to stay downtown Kansas City, this is a decent option, especially if you are in the Marriott rewards program.

NEVER STAY HERE! I travel a TON for business and this was my first trip to Kansas City. Upon arrival, I was offered a government rate at checkin by the desk clerk because I am a government employee and that is the ONLY way I can stay at the hotel. It need to be understood that had the front desk clerk NOT offered the government rate, I would not have stayed there but since I'm a rewards member, I wanted to give it a try to see if they had a room at a govt rate. After checkout, I received a bill for the FULL PRICE! I was astonished! After speaking with the hotel about this SEVERAL times, they have called me a liar and refused to honor the government rate that was offered to me at checkin. They have said it is my fault that the rate is not honored because I did not get it in writing. I am a frequent traveler for my government job and only stay exclusively at Marriott hotels because I am a rewards member and being treated like this is unusual of Marriott hotels. As a civil servant, I am not accustomed to being treated like a liar or cheat of some sort. Would never stay here again. They are NOT what you expect from Marriott hotels and they will bait and switch on you if it is to their benefit.

The only thing I like about this place is the main lobby. Was put in the old building across the street which is nowhere near as nice as main building. The rooms are outdated, furniture scratched and no convenient outlets for charging phone. Had to get an extension cord and run it through the back of the bed.

Disappointing. — ironing board would not stay up. — bathroom sink semi clogged. — internet $10 per day! — in room SAFE could not be reset with new lock code — in room dining meals were average with automatic 20% gratuity added — in room telephones had no speakerphone functionality.

I'be had better. Staff on phone with just me in pool for 30 min was weird. Weekend breakfast for membership was great.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds, though ours hasn't been updated in a good 10 years, with the exception of the TV. The lobby on the other hand has definitely been updated and looks great — nice atmosphere.

The layout of the hotel is weird because there are two separate buildings connected by a skyway on the 2nd floor. This ends up creating very long wait times at the elevator. The rooms lack enough conveniently located electrical outlets for charging cell phones and other devices. The location is pretty good though. There are some good restaurants only a couple of blocks away.

Great staff, but awful guests and terrible noise. We stayed for a conference that my wife was attending at the hotel. This happened to be the same weekend as a state volleyball tournament. Our entire floor was full of obnoxious teens and parents. They constantly went from room to room, letting the door slam against the sliding lock all night. The constant ruckus was enough to call for security both nights. I will find somewhere else to stay the next time I visit KC.

I stayed there for a Cheer Competition and the $15.00 for parking was very expensive and I had to park along way from my room and walk through a scary parking garage to get back to the elevator. My room had one double bed that had a 6in mattress. Very uncomfortable to sleep with teenager in a full size bed. The popcorn ceilings were flaking off, the toilet ran all night and wouldn't flush. The handles for the bath were very high so if you needed to adjust the water for your bath you were standing up a lot (minor issue but something I thought odd). It was a tiny room for 167.00 a night. The maid service knocked loudly on my door at 9am then opened the door to come in and noticed we were still in bed. She came back at 10:30am and knocked as she opened the door and saw that we were still there. Our checkout was 12pm didn't understand why they kept walking in when we hadn't checked out.

My significant other and I celebrated our 6-month anniversary — — as well as an early Valentine's Day — — by staying Feb. 7 at the KC Marriott Downtown. We're both longtime Kansas Citians, but neither of us spend much time Downtown. We had a fabulous view from our room on the 12th floor, had fun exploring the Power and Light District haunts our concierge suggested and enjoyed dinner nearby. But the real surprise was the next morning when room service delivered our delicious breakfast: In the middle of the table was a little chocolate mousse cake for two with Happy Anniversary on it. A big anniversary card signed by several members of the staff came with it. Thinking back, we realized I had vaguely mentioned to the friendly young woman who checked us in that we were celebrating an anniversary. A fleeting, casual remark — — but she caught it, and it made our stay memorable.

This is a beautiful property with wonderfully polite and helpful staff. Our experience at the on site restaurant, Metropolitan KC was equally wonderful with great food and delightful staff.

Lobby has been upgraded, but not the rooms. The bed is support low to the ground, the only hair dryer provided is a weak and tiny travel one, no cups for water in the bathroom — plastic or not — and there are no plugs anywhere near the desk or bed for cell phones, computers etc. Very disappointing for a Marriott hotel.

It was like being on an episode of "Hotel Hell". Valet parking was $22 which was way to high, I live near one of the most grand hotels in the country and they do not even charge that much. The night time staff is very rude and have no customer service training at all. The Saturday night that we stayed in the hotel there were 2 wedding receptions, 1 that ended at 12 midnight with a bunch of college kids trashing the lobby, went down to get a drink and was shoved up against the wall by some of the party. No security was around while all of this took place, it was a bunch of muppets acting like whining babies in the lobby. I went back upstairs to find out that 2 intoxicated males from the party had tried to get into my room, when I left my room a security officer approached me and told me that if I did not return to my room "He would kick me out of his hotel and charged for the rest of my trip". When I made it to the lobby the night time manager and the head of security listened to my problems, the head of security brought the security officer that approached me over the the area where we all were and denied the whole thing and just walked away. Besides all of that I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND staying in this hotel. The Wi-Fi is slow, the pool and workout facilities are out of date. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY in this hotel, you will regret it.

My Wife and I Stayed at the Kansas City Missouri Marriot Downtown this last weekend May 9th 2014 through May 11th 2014 and it was very over priced for the lack of amenities. My Wife and I have stayed at smaller Hotels like Comfort Inn and Hampton inn and we thought that the Marriott would be better because of the expensive price. We were so wrong. This Hotel was terrible, Valet Parking was $21.00! then they have the nerve to stand there with a tip me look on their faces. The T. V. Was very blurry and kept saying ANALOG. They have a Bar that is way over priced. My Wife and I ordered two drinks and it was $12.00! The food was way over priced, They sell a very small bacon cheeseburger for $11.00! They have 5 elevators, plan on waiting at least twenty minutes to get on an elevator because I think only two of the elevators actually work. They make you carry all of your luggage up to your room. They don't have any USB port chargers in the rooms at all. The Hallways smelled like marijuana. Don't even think about having too much luggage because They only have like two carts in the whole Hotel to cart your luggage and they kept telling us that they would write our name down on the waiting list and sent a bell hop up as soon as they could, and she said that they were all out of carts, and we could be put on the waiting list for a cart as well.

Very nice hotel, the view was great. Rooms are clean. People and staff were extremely nice. The lounge area looks gorgeous. Highly recommend this hotel.
