The suite was super roomie, I like that it had two TVs one for the grown ups and one for the kiddos. We had a group of kids and had enough room for all of us. Staff was friendly as well. Breakfast was really good alot to choose from.

Unfortunately, our "non-smoking" room only went as far as the neighbor''s room. I awoke at 6am to the smell of cigarettes permeating the bathroom, coming, I'm sure, through the ventilation system. When entering or leaving the hotel, a "convenient" smoking bench immediately outside the front entry made sure everyone got a noseful just for good measure! It very much detracted from an otherwise not bad hotel!

It feels like a brand new property. My room was fantastic especially considering the price. Good restaurants right across the street. Great value.

Nice staff and very clean rooms.

Stayed over night with my family. Breakfast was decent and the room was nice. Only issue I ran into was another guest smoking in their room which was next door to mine and the smell creeped into my room. I called the front desk to let them know so I did not get charged a smoking fee. They said I was good and gave me extra IHG reward points.

The rooms were very nice and large. The beds were very soft and the bathroom had plenty of room. Was just there visiting but seemed very nice.

The breakfast was wonderful. Staff friendly and helpful. Could work on housekeeping some.

We had a great stay. Staff were so nice especially Scott at breakfast. Neighborhood seemed safe. Pool was great. Room was clean and beds were very comfy. Breakfast was diverse and fresh. Would definitely stay again.

It has been remodeled and it looks great! The room I stayed in had tall ceilings and the breakfast was really good! Great cinnamon rolls! Very clean.

The staff was very friendly, particularly housekeeping. The guest laundry was fairly priced and required a hotel card to enter, so it was clean. Had a larger than average TV on the wall, which was very nice for watching a movie in bed. Parking is bit limited for larger vehicles or those with trailers, so keep that in mind. The free hot breakfast was better than I thought it'd be. The white veggie omelette was particularly good.

I’ve been very impressed going on almost a year now! To start, the employees are top notch, customer service professionals. The management has always been helpful and kind! This hotel has been recently remodeled/updated and it looks great. The new beds are super comfy. Breakfast is hot and fresh! The pool, hot tub, and fitness center is vacation worthy. Everything stays clean and stocked as it should. If they arise, problems or issues are fixed hastily. Great highway access with a variety of food choices near.

Love this place me and my parents have stayed here many times when we come out from California to visit family in Missouri. The people are great service fantastic and the complimentary breakfast is excellent. Highly recommend a stay there if you are in the area.

The beds are really comfortable! The staff is super sweet. They made the hotel feel like home. The breakfast has many options. The hotel is conveniently next to restraunts and places to go shopping. The market place made it easy to get a variety of food. I highly recommend this hotel!

Gentleman working alone at desk (on a Saturday night) trying his best, but cannot overcome an abysmal cleaning staff. Fungus in bath/showers, piss and hair on floors around toilet, beds with hair and pillows with lipstick (dont believe they changed the sheets). Tried to give us another room on a night when the hotel was full. But even one of the two emergency rooms was uncleaned and the other only had a single bed. Unfortunate as this is a newer hotel and in a nice location. Just not comfortable with the filth.

Although I want to give no stars! Due to the unsafe environment security guard is never there, or sleep on the job and manages to still have a job. His name is Sam of Twin City Security, but I came in to help my daughter because of an experience she encountered has her on edge. The guard spent most of his shift at another hotel (Comfort Inn) and never returned to (Holiday Inn), I stayed to be make her feel safe until day break and never saw him return. Now mind you I've done this on several occassions came up and sat with her her entire shift, no support from management other than sending my child to therapy. When she needs time off to deal with the robbery or to feel secure at work something needs to be done. I considering sueing both companies for the mental hell she is enduring and Twin City for Sam not doing his job. Ever!

Nice room layout. Very roomy. Lots of plug ins and outlets. I would stay here again.

I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels and this is by far the best of them all. Friendly staff and very helpful. Everyone from the managers, front desk, maintenance, kitchen manager and house keeping are all super friendly and ready to help. Every morning they are smiling and cheerful. Everyone says hello making you feel very welcome. Rooms are updated and clean and very comfortable. Very well managed property with first class people working hard to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible.

The room was clean the staff awesome. Everything I expect from a HIX. Except the breakfast. Prolly the worst I ever had.

The hotel room was larger and nicer than expected. The pool was very clean and they had a great fitness room. The staff was friendly and accommodating of our two large dogs. Breakfast was great. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Really nice hotel. It has been recently renovated, so the inside is even better than before. It's closer to a 3 star hotel with really spacious rooms.

It was a very modern, quiet hotel with clean rooms and easy access to the highway and restaurants. The breakfast was great, with cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy along with the regular cold items.

There room was very clean and well maintained. I appreciated the modern decor. Breakfast was hot and the employee assisting with breakfast provided excellent service.

The staff were very very accommodating with the two rooms that we had! They had to make some adjustments which they handled personally since some of the cleaning staff had not shown up for work! The breakfast was especially enjoyable in the morning and was more than what I usually expect at a Holiday Inn Express!

By far one of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered in the USA. Breakfast and fitness room had plenty of selections. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Bathtub had an old stain otherwise the bathroom was clean and spacious.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Our suite was clean and comfortable. The breakfast bar had a nice selection of hot items as well as fresh fruit and juices. They are just minutes from the K with plenty of food and shopping nearby. The only negative is the pool area closes at 10, therefore you can't have a bubbly soak after the game.

Friendly staff… good breakfast… comfy beds. Room could use a little work… something was splattered on the ceiling and wallpaper was bubbling.

This Holiday Inn Express in Independence Missouri is brand new and the room very comfortable. The staff here was generally friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants and shopping opportunities within a ten minute radius, as well as walking and running trails.

Check-in was quick and easy. The room is clean and spacious. The beds are more firm than my personal mattress, but still comfortable. The staff is friendly! I was very thankful they had a small sewing kit so I was able to repair my dress for a wedding. I will be staying here in the future if travels bring me back into the are. Update: I went to sleep with no bug bites and woke up with itchy red bumps, bites on my foot and ankle…

STAY HERE! Hotel was VERY clean! The front desk lady was the best! Super nice while multi-tasking with a few customer's who showed up at once. The best thing was my daughter left her pillow case that goes with her comforter set and five days later when I called they still had it! The supervisor is mailing it to us for free! Now that is service!

We stayed here one night on our way to the Lake of the Ozarks. Our initial impression wasn't great. We arrived at 9 p. M. And the front desk attendant was not the most welcoming or friendly person. Although we were the only people checking in, she rushed us through check-in, barely acknowledging our presence. The visit was redeemed, however, the next day by Scott. When my sons and I arrived for breakfast, he was exceptionally kind. He told my 6-year-old that if he cleaned his plate, that he'd let him have a sucker. He helped my son get his food and make pancakes. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness that morning, but it didn't stop there. After we checked out and were an hour down the road, my son realized that he left his medical bracelet in the room. I called the hotel and spoke to Scott about it. He told me he'd send it to my home priority mail, which he did. Scott took this visit from good to great. Everything else at the hotel was great. The rooms and decor have been refreshed and updated. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the hot breakfasts are filling and tasty, and the pool and workout facilities are more than adequate. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has been my go to location in the Independence area for years. The hotel is going thru a remodel currently. The upgrade to the rooms are awesome. This place will be top notch when all completed. The folks who work here are always very friendly and helpful. They make you fell right at home from first walking in.

The beds were really comfortable and they gave us a room with a kitchen sink, microwave, and a refrigerator. It also had a living room of sorts. It was real pleasant. The breakfast was kind of not all that good. Overall, it was a good experience.

Newly remodeled and modern. Loved the clean feeling and comfy beds. The fridge and microwave were a welcome amenity.

Great and clean place to stay. My wife arrives with no reservations. We were able to get a room with a king sized bed and sofa. Little did we know it was a mini suite. What a nice surprise for the price we paid. My wife enjoyed the breakfast and we both agreed we would be back again.

I was there for my job and they helped us each step of the way. Very courteous. They served us breakfast and gave us drinks while we worked.

Good hotel and like many HI Ex it's showing it's age a little needing an updating, but the staff do a good job taking care of what they have. All the staff were very nice and helpful if we had questions and the breakfast was setup real nice and well stocked. The only complaint I have is that we could only open the window about 3 inches due to it being blocked but that's the price you pay in today's world.

Horrible, that's the best word to start off my review. I've been in Kansas City for the past 4 weeks for work and I've been staying at the Drury hotel down the street for the first three weeks and absolutely loved it and had no issues. I decided to switch it up and stay at the Holiday Inn here from 9/14 to 9/18 and it's been a horrible experience. Upon arriving, I was given room 342 which is a king size bed room and the smell in the room was unacceptable. It smelled like cigarette smoke and mold blended in, it wasn't too pleasant. I complained and I was told that the staff can "Febreze" the room, the scent lasted for about two hours and it was gone and it smelled like mold again. As soon as I complained, the lady at the counter started to get irritated and just didn't want to deal with me anymore, so I just perceived to leave her alone. The gym room doesn't have a weight rack, which I found strange since every hotel that I've stayed at that provides "exercise rooms" has had weights so that was a downfall. Just didn't have the experience that I was expecting. Looks like I'm back at the Drury next week without a doubt.

The front desk clerk was kind enough to check the status of our rooms and assist us with getting in a little early so we could get off the road. It was clean and in a safe area surrounded by many dining choices.

Very clean and reliably a good place to stay. Can be a bit pricy, but what isn't expensive these days?! Definitely worth the stay to know I will have a clean room with no funky smells, and no disturbances.

This is our second stay at this hotel. Amazing service, helpful staff. We had queen suite and very roomy and clean. Had a nice evening and service at the outback across the street was also good. We will be staying again.

There was a sewer gas problem with my room. The smell would get worse throughout the day, but would be gone by morning each day.
