Friendly people but rooms don't have microwaves or refrigerators. Also the elevator wasn't working and we were on the third floor. No reduction in rates and I was 8 months pregnant having to climb up and down the stairs.

The facilities of the Hampton Inn Starkville are impressive, but the people of the Hampton Inn Starkville are extraordinary. Its location is particularly convenient if the MSU College of Business or the main location of the Mississippi State University Libraries is your intended destination.

My mother and I booked this hotel for a mini vacation and also because I wanted to tour the college. When we got to the hotel we saw that it was under construction and scaffolding surrounded the entire building, which had not been mentioned on the website or at any time during the booking process online. We went to check in and we had already paid so all they needed was a credit card for incedentals, which was perfectly understandable. But the problem was that we had brought my grandparents credit card which had my grandmother's name on it. My grandfather wrote a letter saying it was okay to use the credit card but even with that Makayla, the girl at the front desk, and her boss still couldn't accept it — they had to speak to my grandmother. They said it was simply because people steal credit cards all the time and say it's theirs. That's understandable as well but they were very rude about it, saying that they didn't have to accept the card even with the letter that my grandfather and written and signed. Okay so moving on. We got everything straightened out and went to the room. We had been driving for hours and just wanted to watch TV but there was no signal so we called the front desk. Luckily a different girl had come in to be at the front desk. Fleshia came up to our room and quickly fixed the problem. She was very friendly and her customer service exceeded what it should have been.

Clean. Rooms. Good bed. Nice staff.

Everything was lovely… from the time I walked in until I feel asleep.

Room was small but adequate with the bed taking up most of the room. The location was under construction and busy as there were several relatively large events in town. The employees were helpful and professional. A relative stayed there and I dropped him off and picked him up there several times.

Short on staff, leaking roof and lamp switch that would not turn off. Ugh!

The staff is incredibly friendly. There's a lot of construction and we got in late so the noise was very unwelcome in the morning. The pool is outside and was closed during our stay. The breakfast is not great but ok for a snack in the morning. The eggs stuff was just not very good. The rooms were very clean, small but comfortable and we'll taken care of. The rates are comparable to other local hotels. The location right off campus, walking distance. Other than a few inconveniences and lack of ammenities it was a very comfortable stay.

Besides all the construction, early in the mornings it was a decent stay. They do need to work on the inside some, some things are falling apart. Lol.

The absolute best experience with a high school theatre group. The hotel staff and manager went above and beyond to make our stay as easy as possible and accommodated our needs before we even asked! The drive to our venue on campus was easy from this location and everything from the rooms to the breakfast was top notch. This will be our first choice for any other group trip to Starkville and as a parent of an incoming freshman this fall we will always try to stay here. Thank you for the awesome experience!

Not sure yet what the final total will be, but… I booked this hotel due to location, it was advertised at a rate of 98.00 (with taxes the initial bill amount of 118.00 is understandable; what is not understandable is the additional 50.00 for incidentals… for a total of 168.00 (very deceptive, and not professional)

It was well taking care of. Very can and comfortable.

Location is great, lots of restaurants very near. Staff was extremely pleasant, rooms were clean and comfortable.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, nice workout room. Fresh coffee, yummy cookies. My biggest complaint was lack of microwave and refrigerator in the rooms. We stayed three nights and for the price of the room I expected more. Also, all the lamp shades in the room were broken. I have photos of them. They were sad.

Great room, great shower, good breakfast. Only thing better is if it would have had a refrigerator in the room.

Very good location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The room is large and comfortable. The personnel are very friendly and helpful, especially the cleaning staff.

Rooms were clean and hotel is located in a good spot. Two problems though, we had reserved a room with two queen beds and upon arrival they told us that there had been a mix-up and we couldn't only get full sized. I understand things like this can happen and it didn't prove to be too big of a problem. The second of the two was when some very noisy guests came into to the hotel at 1 am. Not only were they noisy but they managed to wake me up from a sound sleep. When I called downstairs to ask if they could do something about the problem, they blew me off and told me to be more understanding and that some guests come in late. That's fine and all but when they're making that much of a racket it's hard to overlook. The hotel was nice but the night staff needs to change.

Just returned from a weekend stay in Starkville. We were very pleased with this hotel. Very close to campus and downtown. We had brought along our dog who was going to stay with a friend in Starkville. We were happy to learn they are pet friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Every single employee we spoke with was friendly. We spoke to many because they all were quick to say hello. We met several desk clerks, several of the housekeeping staff and the employee who oversees the free breakfast. All were nice! Would stay here again.

Rooms were very clean, bathroom spacious, breakfast was open from 8-10 and had the normal continental breakfast additions. Location was next to some busy roads, but quiet at night. Also close to some restaurants.

People were very nice, but room smelled old. Ok for the price I assume.
