Very Quiet time and no interruptions.

What great potential this place has! Our party of 6 was extremely disappointed in our dining experience at Grand Avenue Pub and Grill. There were moments I thought we were being filmed for Gordon Ramsay's new show. Service was absolutely horrendous, the worst any of us have encountered in central WI. Rude wait staff, waited an obscene amount of time to even place an initial drink order and recieve glasses of water, food came out in a reasonable time, not once were we ever checked on after being served to be able to inform 2 out of 4 orders were incorrect, never received water or drink refills until a boy in a white uniform finally came with a water pitcher, our bills were entirely incorrect, and zero apologies made once issues were brought to light. All of this would have been slightly understandable if it were busy or understaffed… 4 to possibly 5 tables, and three waitresses. Service staff needs to be completely revamped, it was truly embarrassing as we listened to two tables complaining about the same issues we were experiencing. Definitely not worth the money we spent, very disappointing.

I stayed in a king suite… which I didn't need, but it's what was available. Very nice room, comfy bed. Reasonable price. Bar/restaurant has great happy hour prices and a great Sunday brunch.

I exercise every couple days at this place it's a really good place to work yet and workout.

My daughter and I stayed on Saturday night 8/9 and cancelled the next day hotel stay. To start out the desk attendant was very rude and unfriendly as I stayed in my hotels for work. The room was smaller then the pictures online advertisement, dark, musty odors. Garbage under the night stands, and empty water bottles between the box spring/mattress if someone from housekeeping would have cleaned better they would have found them!
I also got 3 knocks at my door by a housekeeper One at 8:30, one at 9:15, and one at 10am. I open my door and said I thought check out time was at 11 o’clock what are you doing here? Goodbye thank you for the good nights sleep I did not get and I will not ever recommend nor come back to this place. I relocated to a different hotel in the area for a peaceful night sleep.

Clean rooms with a bit of a classic/vintage feel. Multiple bars, and also a great place for a wedding!

Nice room, comfortable bed. Hard getting a hold of the front desk when trying to find out if we could check in early. But once we got there we got checked in and all was fine.

We went in to eat a late lunch before a baseball game at Witter Field. Our waitress was super nice! The food was pretty good. We had a wrap that wasn't the best just didn't taste right. But the atmosphere and the staff made up for it.

Very nice hotel. Rooms a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. Bar/Pub was exceptional! Good drinks and food. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was very nice. I the staff was friendly and check in was quick. They allowed us to check in early with no issues. The room was clean and everything was working properly. There was a TV, a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker in the room. The bathroom was clean.

Great place to stay. The room was nice and the service was friendly. The Grand Avenue Pub and Grill located in the hotel also has great service and good food.

This seems like a great placw for weddings and conventions. The room I stayed in was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. There are two sinks in the room, one in the bathroom, and one just outside. I love this feature when sharing a room with someone elae.

A very nice hotel. Have been here several times! The rooms are always clean and the food is great! There is also a pool, hot tub, and sauna.

Very clean! Reasonable price. Fantastic late night pizza. Pool, sauna, and spa area neat. Most of all, great staff customer service!

Nice hotel in good location. Probably the nicest hotel in Wisconsin Rapids. We didn't have dinner or drinks there but the bar and restaurant looked nice. Bed was comfortable. TV stations were limited. Free Wi-Fi.

Rooms were somewhat small buy well furnished. Pool, hot tub, and fitness center were very nice. The on site tavern was very convenient and the staff was friendly.

I would not recommend the hotel for hosting a conference. We had several internet and microphone issues during our presentations. The catered food quality was also lower than expected. The hotel rooms were fine, however. It would be a fine place to stay, I just would not host here again.

Slowly going downhill. I've been going here to eat on and off through the years. Sad to say. I've got a nickname for a place like this, it's called Titanic. Unless things don't change with the quality this place is going to sink like the Titanic did. It's too bad too because it's really nice inside and the bathroom out in the hallway was as good as bathrooms can get. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw a chef or a cook walk out into the restaurant wearing a beard-net. Sadly he wasn't even wearing it the proper way and all I could do was shake my head. If I had my way anybody dealing with food in a restaurant should automatically be wearing a hairnet and a beard-net PERIOD! Again what a shame! Enough said, 3 Stars!

I was there for the brunch. I had an omellete which was very tasty. It was prepared in front of me with my personal selection of ingredients. Then I did try a piece of fried chicken with mashed red potatoes. The chicken was moist, tender and crispy. Definitely would go again.

Dirty pillow case and don't get me started about the restaurant there… I wouldn't recommend eating at the hotel restaurant. I had some of the nastiest food in my life and didn't feel great afterwards. I ordered a burger by the way. A coworker who stayed previously attempted to eat at the buffet which was a total disaster he said. That includes the drinks, ordered a lemonade. I wouldn't trust the drinks either had a kid working the bar who couldn't possibly have a clue.

I attend the Mead Hotel quite frequently for banquets, meetings, and trainings and I have never been less than satisfied the rooms are always clean the food weather it is breakfast, homeade pizzas, snacks, or dinner it is always delicious. The staff are extremely friendly and it is a great place to stay.

Clean and good meeting areas. Food was good, nothing spectacular but good. However, for our group they didn't give any of us forks. Lots of strange when serving potatoes and ham.

Check in was a breeze, staff was friendly. We stayed in the west tower, and conveniently there is another entrance and elevators over there. Room was clean, and very spacious. Went down to the pool to swim, water was cool and air temp was nice and warm. Plenty of chairs for our group of 8 or so, lots of clean towels to dry off with. Ate at the restaurant a couple times and everyone was very happy with how the food tasted. Will definitely stay here again.

I was there for a meeting in the evening. The staff I encountered were very nice. We were served veggies and dip and meatballs, a baked potato bar with all the toppings, ham, and cake for dessert. While the food was what a person would expect what was very odd was that everything was on different serving stations all with small plates. You can't carry four small plates. Why not give one large one? The cake had been sliced and put out way to early so by the time we ate it, it was very dried out. Oh, and no knives just forks. We had to ask for them. The facilities themselves were very acceptable.

They have very friendly staff. I asked for extra coffee packets in my room and the house keeper left me a note asking if she left enough for me. She had left 10 packets for me. I was super greatful. The food here is also very good.

Great hotel, plenty of space to walk about. Room was good. Bar was great!. Alfredo could use a lot of work though…

We sang for a ceremony and the hotel staff gave us food afterwards. They were very friendly and curtious to us the whole time.

I didn't stay overnight, only for the conference. The food was good, but nothing excellent, and room temperature was either super hot or freezing. Also, paper mill smell permeated the meeting. Otherwise, it was a good environment.

Nice hotel and really nice service but Sunday morning buffet wasnt that good and was not worth $14 per adult! I would definitely re-think how you came up with buffet pricing for mediocre food, the fresh omelette was good tho. Would stay again just skip the buffet next time.

This motel is definitely way over rated and over priced for what you get. They won't even allow outside delivery for food you have to go pick it up at the front desk. And the restaurant is way over priced. And they Wi-Fi didn't even work.

Old is gold. A nice quiet place. Good restaurant. Nice pool and fitness center.

This is a great hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. I recommend the Hotel Mead to anyone who visits Wisconsin Rapids.

We stayed in one of the Connor rooms which was larger and could fit four adults fairly comfortably for an over night, and seat 8-12 people. The rooms were slightly dated but they have updated what many thing such as the TV and other amenities are new. Over a nice hotel to stay at and great staff.

Clean and supportive/friendly staff. A bit on the outdated side, but really have no complaints about my stay. Would recommend.

When we arrived staff was still setting the tables. Once everything was a place all went smoothly. Drinks, food, & service were good. Room was comfortable & nicely decorated.

Great experience with this hotel. While the facilities and staff were perfect for our family (with a three year old), it's the hotel staff's honesty and over-and-beyond help that earned our loyalty for as long as we're travelling to Wisconsin Rapids and as long the hotel is there! On our hectic running late day of checkout, we left a $400 personal electronic device. Before we realized we'd left it, we got a call from the hotel. Cleaning staff found it! All they needed to k…now was how we wanted it returned to us. They overnighted it and we got it back exactly as we left it. I've left a few things in hotels in my life (I can recall 1 gold bracelet and 1 iPod specifically). Nobody has ever found and returned my items. Someone with less integrity than the staff at Hotel Mead is probably still enjoying my bracelet and my iPod today. This was truly a great experience with Hotel Mead.

Friendly staff. Clean. Room had microwave, frig, coffee pot, hair dryer. Decor was very nice. The pool looked inviting, but I never made it there. They had a great live blue band playing on Friday night.

The Hotel Mead is an absolutely fabulous place to have a wedding. We just attended a wedding there this weekend and the space is so nice and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the Mead to anyone looking for a wedding reception location.

Although the hotel is dated, the rooms are clean, the staff is very attentive, and it's in a safe part if town within walking distance of several eateries and pubs. For the price it's a great hotel option.

First time I have ever been disappointed at the Mead Inn, but I must say they are not kid friendly. Rented a suite to have a birthday party for my 12 year old son and while I was in the room getting the party ready and ordering the pizzas a "security" person told the boys you had to be 16 or older to be in the pool area. Mind you they had dollar store slingshot pool toys that apparently were very dangerous, there was no reason to kick them out of the pool or tell them they had to be 16 in order to swim. The best part is the slingshots were so cheap the kids could throw the small water balls harder. The pool was empty with the exception of the 4 party goers and they were not hurting anything.
I guess that's what I get for trying to have a local party. Next time we will take our business elsewhere.
I would not to recommend staying here is you have kids or want to have a birthday party. Go to the Americinn instead.

The food was aweful. Peeps were Coolio. Prom sacked balls. Stupid women and their hairy armpits coming out of their dresses… Further a great time!

Not what I expected. When we arrived I had a hard time believing the building we were pulling up to was actually a hotel. Honestly, I thought the building resembled a very outdated hospital. The entrances didn't seem highly recognizable and we had to go to 2 different entrances to get to the main one to check in. Our purpose for staying there was to attend a Military artilary ball that was being held there. My husband's battalion, being artilary, have large (like, half a room sized) cannon-type guns that were brought to the hotel and set up in the ballroom and nearby the ballroom entry area. How they got them in there, I dunno. I was just impressed. The staff that worked our event were efficient and friendly. We stayed in a double-queen. I didn't expect much when we arrived (I mentioned the building's exterior). Yeah, It's a standard room, so it wasn't spectacular. However, it was clean. The bathroom had a big counter with a sink. Just outside the bathroom was another counter and sink. Being a woman, this was easily one of the best features. The beds were comfortable (firm) and the beds were topped with sheet "wrapped" down comforters. The entertainment cabinet/armoire housed a microwave on one side and a mini fridge on the other. The hotel has a pool, hot tub & sauna. My husband and son used all 3 and really enjoyed themselves. They have towels for guest use just outside the locker rooms.

For the size of town it was nice but a bit dated. It is quite obvious that it's hayday was during the smoking generation because all the tile and smoke detectors are covered in tar. If you have allergies you may not want to stay.

Nice rooms. Nice pool. Food in restraunt was terrible. Had to pay for morning coffee. But otherwise nice place.

This hotel is amazing, great space, friendly staff, huge pool and sauna. The best part is the bar which is in the hotel. The Grand Ave Tavern has great food and drinks. Great for business and travelers alike.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in quite a long time. My room was up to date, super clean, and the staff was so friendly. They went out of their way to help or answer any questions. The hotel itself was beautiful. I also can't say enough about Cafe Mulino. The food was delicious, specialty cocktails made perfectly and great staff served/greeted you. I had a great experience and look forward to staying again when I return to the area. Thank you!

Rooms are very clean and fairly well updated. Staff is incredibly friendly. We were incredibly surprised with how nice the hotel is for the price we paid for our room. Very affordable rates.

Rooms were clean and housekeeping was awesome. However, at the West Tower could use some updates and some touch up's. Lacks vending machines for convenience. Upon check in, little information given about the property and events unless you ask. Pool area was nice. Overall, it was okay, just had higher expectations.

I have stayed at the Mead several times for business. The staff is incredible friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurants is excellent. I have also witnessed many functions and it seems to be a great hotel to have gatherings. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Rapids area or trying to plan an event.

I stayed at Hotel Mead 3 nights per week for several months this past winter traveling for business. The Staff is very friendly and the rooms were clean (BIG PLUS because I'm Picky) The restaurant and bar were very clean and the food is good. The Bar and Restaurant both serve food and the drinks are very reasonably priced even for a hotel. They do have a full menu in the separate Restaurant, but I often ate at the bar because it was nice to meet up with co-workers to socialize and not have to go out into the cold. I recommend the Cheese Curds, Chicken Wings, and Ribs. I didn't use the Pool / Sauna, but some of my co workers did regularly and loved it. They just remodeled the pool area and it looks nice.

Everything at the Mead was well thought out and there were no unwanted surprises. Apparently the hotel has gone through some major renovations over the past few years. My room was very clean and the bathroom was the same. I stayed in the hotel on one of those very cold Wisconsin nights and my room was warm and draft free. I had some business associates to meet at the hotel, we did drinks at the bar, the bar was hoping and we all had drinks at a pretty reasonable rate, Additionally I had breakfast in the restaurant (very good homemade Corned Beef Hash) I would recommend the hotel for business or pleasure.

I stayed at the Hotel Mead for 2.5 month Monday through Friday and had a very nice stay. Loved the Sauna, rooms were clean, huge beautiful lobby and the restaurants and bar was priced good and the food was awesome. Recommend the Hotel Mead for your next stay in Wisconsin Rapids.

My family traveled from North Dakota to central Wisconsin to be with my father during his last days, and then the funeral. I stayed over a week at the Hotel Mead, first in a room on the older side of the hotel with one of my adult sons. The room was great but my wheelchair couldn't fit into the bathroom (and the toilet area was too small for handicap purposes). Once my wife (and the rest of our family) arrived from North Dakota, the two of us got a King Suite on the newer side of the hotel while the others stayed on the older side in two rooms. Our room (and bathroom) were fantastic! The service was great! We loved the swimming pool, restaurant, and bar! The Hotel Mead is older, but it has class. We plan to say there again when we visit my mother in Nekoosa.

We held the Region E Gold Wing Road Riders Association Rally at the Hotel Mead. What a great hotel to work with! Every time we needed another table set up, batteries for the microphone, etc. They were right there helping us out. The staff from the front office (thank you Angel), to the front desk to the waitresses and cleaning staff were very professional and accommodating. If you are looking for a place to host an event in Wisconsin Rapids, this is it.

I'll be very generous in this review — its a terrible spot, would not recommend unless you can completely devalue the dollar, then lower your expectations. Got in the room, I reserved two queen beds with a sleeper sofa. There was one king bed with a sleeper sofa. Myself, my wife and two small children (both kids that roll around at night so sleeping in the same bed isn't a good option) would be staying. There is a big difference between two beds and three, humans understand this, apparently this hotel does not. Strike 1. Got in the room after a long wedding ceremony to unwind with the kids before going back to the wedding dinner. Kids wanted to just watch some TV and be kids in a new place. Cable was out — nothing but fuzz on the set. Strike 2. Hot outside, like 85 degrees. Hot inside, like 85 degrees. Advertised A/C as first amenity on list (following the two queen bed lie). 85 is air conditioned in certain parts of Iraq or Afghanistan, but not central Wisconsin. Was told it would be fixed soon, and maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but to get the room down to a reasonable temperature to sleep in, I knew it would probably take me just as long (2.5 hours) to just drive home for the night. Strike 3. After a number of complaints to the front desk, I told them that we were not staying, and I'd like a refund because this was obviously not what I had asked for/expected.

I liked the place, pleasant atmosphere and good service. I stay here whenever I'm in Rapids.

Unique layout, spacious, great location, and the dining is excellent.

Had a great time. Won a free night. Great staff. We loved the food. Front desk and staff went out of their way to make our stay to feel like we are family. Will tell all our friends about this hotel.
