We stayed here over the weekend of 7/6-7/8 for my sons wedding and from the day we made the reservations we had nothing but problems. We were told that we had a special rate since we were booking for a wedding block. We later found out that there was no special wedding rate n that we were given the published rate for that weekend. We also made arrangements to make sure that my daughters room was next to mine so I could help her with the kids. The morning of our check in I received a call from the hotel saying they were not going to hold my reservation because the credit card that I had given when I gave when I made the reservation was not working. I explained that the card I had used at that time was deactivated because it was lost. So in the middle of packing n loading the car to leave for the wedding I had to find my new card n give it to them to make sure that I had a reservation. When we arrived at the hotel, it looked abandoned. The grass need to be cut n there were weeds growing in the parking lot n sidewalks. We went in and I was greeted by a man who I am assuming runs the place. He was very unfriendly and proceeded to tell me that he still was not able to get my credit card to go thru. And proceeded to tell me that my sisters card wouldn't go thru either. That was none of my business n he should've never shared that information with me. After a very long process of checking in n having to run to find an ATM to withdraw the cash to pay for the room we get settled in our room. My daughter comes to check in only to find out that her reservation was also screwed up. The room that she was suppose be in next to us, was no where near us and the desk clerk refused to move either one of us since we had been in the rooms n they didn't want to have clean them again. She had only been in the room to drop off luggage n call me to see what room I was in. Still the man would not switch us to rooms close together. They were on the 2nd floor on the opposite side of the building. It was very inconvenient. Other family members and some of the wedding party also checked in that night n also had some sort of problems including my son who was the one that brought the business to this hotel. Saturday morning came and I went to the front desk to get a receipt and they refused to give me one. They said that I would get one we checked out. I don't understand why if it was paid in full I couldn't get a receipt but whatever. We went to the wedding and proceeded with our day. At the reception we learned that other family and friends also had many problems checking in. Some being double charged for their rooms and not getting adjoining rooms they book for families with children. When we went back to our room later that night we had to go to the desk to get new keys because we're not working. We were met by the intoxicated, argumentative desk clerk almost refusing to give us new keys to our room. Unfortunately at that point after eveything else, I came unglued. We were tired after a long day n just wanted to get into our room. His wife came out of the backroom n made us new keys finally. The next morning we woke up to a receipt that had been put under our door. Upon looking at the charges the rate wasn't right and was charged for an in room safe that we never used. At that point after taking a shower in ankle deep water because the drain wouldn't drain, we packed up n left with a horrible hotel story for the weekend. Unfortunately there was only one other hotel in the town n it wasn't any better unfortunately. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone what so ever unless they get new owners that will take care of the property and care about their guests. I was a resort manager for 20 yrs and I can't even imagine treating guests the way we were treated.
