We stayed one night at the Sparta Super 8. To say the hotel is outdated would be kind. For some unknown reason we were given a handicapped accessible room, (which we neither asked for or needed) with a queen size bed for $110 for the night. I inquired if a king size bed was available and was told, "Yes, " but then the rate would be $139 for the night. At a Super 8 in a small Wisconsin farming community? Just across the street was a Country Inn & Suites by Carlson and they had rooms available for $85 for the evening. But it was too. Late to cancel our reservation and move. The breakfast was a joke. No hot food at all unless you wanted to wait in line to use a do-it-yourself waffle machine. No rolls, danish, English muffins or bagels. Boiled eggs that had pieces of shells still on them and a yogurt or toast was all that was offered. Our bed was from the last century, extremely lumpy and difficult for someone with spinal issues to sleep on. The air conditioner was so loud that it sounded like a 747 was taking off beside me. Upon opening the drapes, which were closed when we entered the room, the windows looked like they had never been washed. They were so dirty you could not see out them. The shower head clip that holds the head up on the wall was broken, and a makeshift loop was made with a hose clamp. It was impossible to get it to stay up without bracing it against the wall. A chunk of wood was missing from the side of the vanity.

The room was ok. Breakfast is a joke. Stale danishes. Only 1% milk as a choice. A lot of people like and want whole milk. Half and half curdled in the coffee. Hard to even get a "good morning" from desk clerk. When we got there, pool was full of an infant swim club. Definitely not going in that pool. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The most disgusting place I ever had to stay! Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice. My work place did the booking for this nasty place and they pre-paid for my stay. The room had unforgettable stunk, I never stepped on the floor without shoes because it looked like someone was murdered on it. The floor baseboard was missing. I found 2 used washcloths from the previous guest in the bathroom. The chair in the room looked like someone fished it out from the dumpster. I don't understand how this place is still in business.

They are renovating right now so it all smells of paint, they have a large empty counter in middle of dining room taking up space and are using tables as a counter for breakfast food. It was super packed in there when I was there and you can't eat well in your room because the desks were gone. Breakfast food was ok-ish I guess. Beds were on the harder side. Everything was mostly clean, some constriction dust. Staff was nice. Other times being there have been better.

Last year the breakfast room was great. This year they have taken 3 needed patron tables and made them to hold half the foods. While there is a perfectly good counter top that is on the side of the room that should be used. THEN they pushed another perfectly good counter up against that one. Since there is no place to sit, people are standing using this to set their meal on. Our coveted table rocks terribly, not good for 3 little kids. I fixed it with napkins. Furthermore our room is minus anything to set food on and eat in our room. Last year they had that. Very disappointed.

Stayed overnight on April 20th. Room was clean. The receptionist, Angel, was very friendly and sweet! We had a nice stay and meeting her was a bonus.

This is a very nice little economy hotel. Everything that you need and no fuss. We checked in at 4 AM and the man at the front desk was very helpful, and gave us a lower rate than advertised. We appreciated that! The rooms were clean and neat, and there was even a bottle of water to make coffee with. I'd recommend it.

Folks here were very friendly. I was happy to discover they have a washer and dryer in working condition.

Very poor unfortunately. Very narrow minded and judgmental I felt. I am stating this more towards the owner and Sheri. Profiling and discriminating doesn't make for great reviews. My mother and I were displaced due to a tragic house fire for approximately two months. Fortunately Red Cross put us into the hotel initially… Thank God. A truly uncomfortable stay through and through. Lots of negatives but there were some good people and times. Jason from 3rd shift is the man! Always smiling and willing to go way above and beyond. Thanks buddy. Lee was very courteous and thoughtful as well. You haven't changed much since school and you were very pleasant even then. Um… Sonya in housekeeping was extremely outgoing and kind as well. Thank you. The treatment was so unpleasant at times that I had chosen to spend most of my time and nights in our house that burned which was totalled due to the damage sustained. It was so bad that in order to enter our home a breathing apparatus was needed for safety! Yet I stayed for several days at a time rather than go and be subjected to how most of the staff did. So my advice is to find a different hotel. : (

No large meeting space for groups to meet/ kids to play. Continental breakfast was yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bruised fruit, and waffles. Being gluten-free, we had very few options. Management was rude when another family had an issue with their door and someone has pooped in the pool, so that was not an option for the kids either. We were not given the room we requested and switching meant moving floors and not being with the rest of our group. Wi-Fi continuously disconnected for no apparent reason. Also, the manager showed up after 11pm to fix a problem they caused and was rude to a family in our party. While he was trying to make nice with the rest of us after, his wife was parked in the front of the hotel honking because she wanted to go home. Our room was right above the entrance and the noise woke my husband.

The place was clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and my 4 year old could stand in the shallow end. The breakfast was pretty standard fare. I did appreciate the king size beds.

Room rate was affordable. Entire hotel was very clean, especially the newly remodeled rooms. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that there was not a chemical smell or synthetic fragrance in the hotel room. We seldom stay at hotels because many of them stink of chemicals or synthetic air fresheners that give us headaches and aggravate medical conditions. The amenities are very nice and the hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The other guests were friendly too! The only improvement suggestion we have is to upgrade the continental breakfast. Switch out the pre-packaged pastries with freshly made local pastries (support local businesses), check the fruit daily — we couldn’t find an apple that wasn’t rotten, and maybe offer organic options for oatmeal, yogurt, etc… I would definitely stay here again.

Nice, clean and an awesome clerk (sorry I do not know your name). Oct. 21, 2017, we scored the last room for the night. Hotel clerk went out of her way to provide us a place to stay, asking single guest if he would switch his two queen beds for our king bed (thus accommodating all 4 of us). We had just left a bad situation as our hotel in La Crosse messed up our reservation…turned out to be a good thing cause I would have had to sleep with my shoes on and a nose pen. Make sure to research your hotel and be weary of those fake, too good to be true reviews — You know, the ones where the hotel staff writes their own… We definitely would stay here again. Nice clean lobby, comfortable beds, (pillows need help), typical continental breakfast but good enuf. Super 8: we appreciate your going the extra mile for us. Also want to add that our carryout pizza from Shane & Penney's Slice of Chicago (507 W WI St. Sparta, WI) was delicious. Would love to come back to find those bike trails and for more pizza.

Great rate and super comfortable beds! Right off the I90 so you dont have to drive much away from it.

These guys were amazing to us. We pulled in late, and they kindly provide a handicap room to my husband. We got an excellent night's sleep, thanks to their hospitality. Room was great, clean and bed fantastic. Highly recommend.

The Super 8 has a lovely outside patio with two umbrella circular tables. The staff was warm and friendly, rooms were clean and inviting.

Very clean, friendly staff, good continental breakfast. I would suggest more flavors of coffee to make it great. Love the photo mural decor in my room!

Good stay at Super 8 Sparta. They were very accommodating and nice. Beds were a little uncomfortable, but all in all it was a good stay for the night.

Nice clean and comfortable room. Staff was excellent. Would have been nice to have a breakfast that wasn't all bread and carbs, though.

Rooms on 2nd FL hard time climbing, hot tub not working, but staff took extra precautions to keep customers safe.

Clean, very slight musty smell in room. Room is very large, had the 2 King and it had two end tables, TV stand, arm chair, and desk/counter with microwave and fridge. Breakfast choices somewhat scant (does offer make your own Belgian waffles). Right off interstate and really great restaurant across the street.

The pool and hot tub is great!

Got the suite. Lovely room. Needed the escape with the girlfriend. Would recommend.

The rooms are very comfortable, and the continental breakfast covered all the major bases of morning food. Good service all around, only complaint is that there's not a gym.

Second best super 8 I have ever stayed in. Very clean. Outlets available. King room had two end tables. A couch a nice chair two other tables. Then an office chair at a desk/bar and it was all very roomy and clean! Highly recommend.

We stayed for a night while on vacation and it was the best nights sleep we have gotten out of a motel. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and everything smelled so clean and fresh. No stains on the towels and they also smelled really good. Had a great choice for breakfast also. We highly recommend this motel to anyone.

I did not stay at the Super 8, but my parents did. I did the reservations and when I had questions Joleen was very helpful. She even gave me a walk through to ensure my parents needs would be met. Thank you Joleen.

Best hotel in Sparta. Hands down the greatest place to spend a night or many nights. Great comfortable beds. Super clean. 8 out of 5 stars. Must visit.
