Allowed several kids pool parties on top of guests. Teenage kids took over pool, verbally abusive to parents of young kids staying and trying to enjoy time. No adult supervision and front desk did nothing about the pool situation. Also paint in kiddie pool peeling and floating so unusable Bar/restaurant. Food looked all pre made/packaged and re heat. Signs all over with fancy drinks and amazing food. Bartender didn't know how to make 3 drinks I asked for including a White Russian or a margarita. I'd like to know who makes those fancy drinks in posters. And our room must have had a tilt. Doors would swing open and drawers on dresser wouldn't stay closed. Oh and masks, front desk wore them. The bartender and guy who warms up food and breakfast buffet staff no masks at all!

This hotel had great customer service, rooms are so clean, hotel is beautiful. The pool my kids enjoyed the most! Loved that the pool is open to 11pm. Great place and great price!

Fantastic customer service! We were supposed to be there all weekend for a hockey tournament. Our son got very sick and we called to try and cancel (not expecting much). The manager allowed us to cancel at no charge because of the extenuating circumstances. Our team will definitely book this hotel again. It’s this type of customer service that creates repeat customers. It was bad enough to miss all of the team fun this weekend, but not having to pay for a hotel that we aren’t going to use, made it that much easier. Thank you SO much!

Horrible customer service. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN LAST MINUTE FAMILY SITUATIONS in order to change a reservation! am 1500 miles from home, attending an Aunt's memorial service. Just visited another Aunt in Green Bay — who has no family left, suffered a stroke, placed in a home and home lost her dentures last week when exterminating facility for bedbugs. So trying to modify my reservation with hotel's front desk agent and she said she couldn't help me because I didn't call her (the hotel) directly &"negotiate the rate". I then called 855# on my BW confirmation email. Agent Samantha advised she couldn't help me and I should speak to hotel's front desk. I was then transferred to some special BW Help Desk (that wasn't open so had to leave a voicemail) to explain my situation — EXTREMELY personal and difficult — so I can stay one night only (tonight) instead of two nights. Now I await a return phone call on Sunday, while I am attending my Aunt S's Memorial service to see if I will be allowed to cancel Sunday night's reservation, so I can drive back to Green Bay to help my Aunt L before I fly back to Texas on Monday afternoon.

We got a king bed room, and we both woke up barley could walk the next morning because our backs and necks hurt so bad. Only problem with our stay here.

The only problem I found was that there are no USB plugs so bring your standard plug for the wall — с Mira Singh.

We had a early check in that was great. The room was plenty big room very clean, breakfast was good have to get there in the time frame. One more thing bartender Jessica was awesome she has a great since of humor. I would come back great place.

Great place to stay. This is the best hotel in Sparta very close to Fort Mccoy and right off the interstate. The staff welcome us with very speedy check in. Very clean room and good breakfast. Internet was very fast and the pool was so big. Everything was excellent.

Wonderful value for the price. Beds were comfortable, room was large enough for an additional roll away bed. Free breakfast was good. Internet was a little slow at times but always available. Pool area was wonderful. There is a kiddie pool with a slide, a larger pool with slide (slide is presently under repairs) and whirlpool. Water temperature was very comfortable. Decor in rooms and lobby is a little dated but I can live with that, for that price and that pool area! The 4 year old and 10 year old could have spent hours in there!

We Loved the Sparta Trail Lodge! Bethany was very friendly and helpful! They have a pool, kids pool, hot tub and sauna! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The breakfast was good. We had the whirlpool king bed room. It was very spacious and clean! I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

My daughter, three grandkids and I stayed at the Sparta Best Western Plus on July 9 and 10, 2018 to bike the Sparta/Elroy trail. We were allowed an early check in as we got there sooner than expected — a nice convenience. The breakfast was good, hot. Free parking. Didn't use restaurant, but looked inviting. We were biking the Sparta/Elroy Trail and we couldn't bike from hotel — hotel is on the edge of town with a busy road for elementary-aged kids. The room was large and beds comfortable. Staff was very accommodating. Room was clean.

Although the bicycle trail head wasn't as convenient as advertised, after some exploring I was able to find it. The only other negative observation was the parking lot lights shine right into room 217, even with the curtains drawn there is excessive light coming into the room making it difficult to sleep. On a positive note the front desk was extremely courteous and accommodating.

The rooms were clean in the hotel was very impressive! Had a jacuzzi in my room as well! Highly recommended! Staff was courteous and respectful.

What a gem! Clean, comfortable and a professional staff. The onsite restaurant was small, but delicious. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety. Made me want to come back to Sparta just to stay there!

Great place to stay for biking/kayaking the area. It was nice to come back to a comfortable room after outdoor exercise!

Hot tub and pool. Nice soft beds. Only problem is the spotie Wi-Fi. Luther was an amazing person to tall to he helped me clear my mind and helped me get through a tuff time. That I was having.

My friend and I were very pleased with our overall experience. We would stay there again and recommend to our other friends to stay at the Best Western in Sparta.

Great location right off Interatate. Awesome Breakfast. Room was nice and clean. A couple of the towels were dingy. Hot tub not hot at all. Supposed to have someone worked on it the next morning (for 2hrs! ) I'd stay again!

The Hotel was awesome, the clerk who was on duty when we got there Saturday afternoon was very nice and told us the restaurant opened at 4pm for dinner. I called my Dad who lives in town to have him meet us at 4pm for an early dinner so the kids could have plenty of time to swim. We were waiting outside the restaurant when a very rude man asked us if he could help us and I replied that we were waiting to eat in the restaurant, He very curtly replied that it was not open and would not open until 4:30 pm. I said that the hotel clerk said it was 4pm. This was not that big of a deal other then the fact that he was curt and rude and my Dad is elderly and was now waiting 1/2 hour in a hotel lobby. The woman who finally opened the door at about 4:40 was really curt, abrupt, and seemed very annoyed that we were there to eat, which was surprising because we were the only table in there. I spied a pull tab machine and decided to buy my Dad and I some. I put a $10 bill in and nothing! When I told the "friendly " waitress, I was informed that she had no say over the machine and that I would have to ask the front desk for it, or some guy named John. Basically it was not her problem, she did not give a crap. At this point I am fully annoyed and ready to go elsewhere to eat. But my grandkids wanted to eat and get in the pool, so we endured the rude waitress who also took her sweet time waiting on us. An overall terrible experience.

Decent hotel for the area. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Fitness room is tiny but ok. Rooms were a good size and having the restaurant right there was a plus.

There were about 5 wasps in our room (coming from where, who knows, but they kept coming) plus countless amount of ladybugs… but have no fear the vacuum is here! The staff acted as if this was a typical occurrence at the Best Western and a vacuum will easily solve the problem. I was quite surprised we did not get any sympathy or a lowered rate for the amount of bugs we disposed of, before the front desk made it to our room. I am very disappointed that this issue didn't seem like an urgency with the staff. I'm not sure if we would have gotten our room switched if one of us hadn't been allergic to bees. I have stayed at a lot of Best Westerns in my days, but never anything like this.

Quiet location. Rooms comfortable. Breakfast better than average. All staff and even the manager made us feel like we were VIP's. Will definitely stay there again.

Great experience from checking in to checking out. No problems and everyone was there in case you needed anything. Very enjoyable stay and will be back next year.

Great service. Quickly responsive to my needs. I'm a Diamond with BW, and although the amenity gift was less than I'm used to, they made up with great hospitality, fresh food in the morning, clean rooms, I could go on and on. Excellent!

Seemed to be newer, clean, nice beds. Pool and exercise room. Nice breakfast in the morning. Also a nice little bar off the lobby.

We checked in past midnight and stayed for one night. The front desk couldn't find out reservation right away, but he was calm, quick and friendly. The hotel rooms were newly renovated and very clean. Breakfast started at 6 am which was great for us since we wanted to leave early. There were plenty of options for breakfast, more than I've seen at most places. Great place to stay!

Staff was very accommodating. Assisted in getting oxygen tanks delivered to the room. Close to bike trail. Nice pub-style lounge on premises. Above average breakfast.

We have enjoyed staying at this property multiple times in recent years! Convenient Near I-90 and the staff is always welcoming! Beds were very comfortable and rooms fresh and clean. We will return to this property in the future when in the area.

We came to town for a funeral. The staff was very nice and helpful and showed so much compassion for our family as well as the other guests whom came to attend the event. The rooms were very clean as well as the pool area. We may come back during the summer to check out the bike trails.

Wont even accept the price that best western shows online for a current rate. The receptionist was rude about it. Didn't really care that everywhere online to book a room here was 19$ cheaper. Never will I stay here again the country inn and suites is a much better hotel.

Very disappointed, our room was not clean, the pillows on the bed smelled moldy and musty, the bathroom was dirty, the bath towels were threadbare and there was a big wet spot on on the carpet that smelled moldy. One person at the front desk was nice but another one was not helpful at all. I would not stay here again!

Room was clean, beds comfortable. The workout area had several machines and was clean. Pool was nice, and the hot tub was relaxing.

The room was recently remodeled and the staff was friendly. The pool was great for kids and adults alike. Would definitely recommend if someone needed to stay in this area.

They've got a small gim with tv, and a pool with a hot tub. Not so nice breakfast.

The whole place is quaint in an ephemeral fashion, I absolutely loved it. The room I stayed in had two sets of windows, and both a dark and a lighter layer shade so I could have privacy, but still get some natural light in. The room for the price was large. The bed was a queen, or possibly a king, as I did not measure it, irregardless, it was large, and two people had room to be fussy sleepers. There was an excellent amount of pillows, so you could make a decent lay of em. There were extra pillows in the closet nook. Fridge, TV, iron/ironing board, small personal coffee maker were also in room. The shower had excellent pressure, and a lot of hot, hot water. Many towels were provided. In all the room was excellent for the price. Small slight frills made any negatives seem inconsequential. Would stay there again!

I regularly use the pool and in general there's great counter staff and decent cleaning crew. Maintenance seems to be lacking tho as over several months there have been constant issues with the hot tub not holding the water level which seemed to make it stop heating as well but it does appear to be fixed now. There are small barely visible cracks in the wall that you notice when you follow the line of ants crawling around right along the wall behind the hot tub. There is writing in the scum build up along the water level tile in the pool and especially the hot tub as well as carved into the walls inside the sauna. The pool is constantly very cold I get cramps if I stay in more than 20 mins but the hot tub is usually hot. There are sprinklers in the ceiling that has dripped on me while I'm in the pool, it's a steady drip in one spot at the bottom of the slide, and also above at least one lounge chair that I have had the displeasure of finding located nearest the pool steps. The women's bathroom shower curtain is kind of gross along the bottom and the changing table is always lying open and never looks like it gets regularly cleaned but otherwise everything usually looks nice and clean. It is the largest indoor water area in Sparta tho and I'm pretty sure the only place inside with slides and a sauna. I also love the tropical themed mural on the walls in the pool area.

We stayed here this past week and I have to say I was disappointed. This is our third or fourth time staying here and the past two times, the rooms were not very clean. This time our couch had several areas where chocolate or some other food had been ground into the arm and cushion (my husband did notify the office because I did not want them to think it was us). It was very visible, so someone cleaning should have been able to see it. Not only that but my kids found a dirty sock under the table. Also out in the open, so someone vacuuming the floor should have seen it. The beds also appeared to have been payed in after they were made… probably just from being poorly made in the first place. I cleaned hotel rooms when I was younger and I know it's a tough job, but I also know that people want and expect a very clean room. More care needs to be taken by your cleaning staff if you want to continue having business. On a positive note, my kids do enjoy the pool and hot tub, which seemed to be maintained properly and this area WAS clean. It is a larger pool with one slide that my kids really like. The pool is actually why we stop here on our way back from the Mayo Clinic in MN, but I'm not sure we will be stopping next time.

Service was fantastic. Staff was very warm and friendly upon arrival, all the way throughout the stay. Bed was a little hard and the noise from the central air furnace kicking on and off was a little bothersome, but if you turn the fan on in your roof it drowns out the noise. Interior lighting could afford to be a little brighter and less yellow. The bar/ indoor restraunt was decent and served as an easy option if you don't feel like driving anywhere in the cold. Cell reception was abysmal to non existent unless you stood outside, but Wi-Fi was free.

It was very clean, roomy and nicley updated. Pet friendly. Provided carts for delivery to room. Pool was very big and friendly for young and older childen. But the pool was freezing and I asked and people said the pool is always like that.

The room was clean and staff friendly. Maid took all my used big towels but left none. Front desk hooked me up. Hotel hottub did not have enough water to even cover the Jets lat night. I mentioned it to the restaurant staff tonight and they are taking care of it.

We didn't stay, we just went swimming, but from my impressions the hotel is very dated and the pool was kind of gross.

Mini waterpark, clean, convenient, staff was excellent, breakfast was well above average for a continental breakfast, and they had a waffle maker. Great place.

Poor experience with staff not able to handle large groups of people. Poor hospitality service, room wasn't cleaned on second night, over treated pool with chemicals and made children leave, refused to take food orders at 8:45 at night even though they have bar/food area, and shut bar down at 9:20 on a Saturday night. Would not recommend for groups of people.

Very affordable during the week (under $100) and great facilities. Very clean and large rooms. Hotel has a bar/restaurant and the free breakfast was great.

My family makes it a point to stay here once a year as we explore western wisconsin. Unbeatable value with the buffet HOT breakfast, mini waterpark for kids, right off I-90 location and service. Even let our lab Scout stay overnight and the pet area is a nice touch. We'll see you again next year.

As for the review that said there is no mention of the bike trail. Hmm. The name of the darn hotel is the Best Western Plus SPARTA TRAIL LODGE. See?! It's in the name of the place.

I love staying here! Its one of only few places in sparta to stay where you don't need to worry about being dirty! Service is great! Rooms are always clean. Love it. And the workers.

Not one mention of the big draw to town, the Elroy Sparta bike trail, nor how close to the trail? You would think that hotels would take every opportunity to advertise the area atractions i. E. Bicycling, the trail, etc. Yet none of the surrounding hotels seem to highlight the trail as anything special. Perhaps it is not that special.
